The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

His head was killing him, that was all he knew. His blurred vision slowly came into focus, and he could hear the steady beeping of monitors. When all of his senses came into focus, he realized he was in a hospital. His hands were bare, everything he'd had on him was gone. All he had on between him and God was one of those lousy gowns.
"What...what happened...?" He asked, jumping a little when he heard a clipboard drop to the floor.
"He's awake!" A woman shouted before he heard the sound of footsteps. "Well, I'll be..." he heard a doctor say a while later. "Son...you've been in a coma since late April. It's July. You've been in a coma for almost three months...honestly...we were losing hope."
Ty gave a chuckle. "Eh, I'm a stubborn jackass that way," he answered, looking around. "Tses?" he called, looking around again.
"I'm sorry," The doctor said, "A blonde girl came to see you for awhile, but eventually...she stopped coming..."
"Where's my stuff?" "Over there, but you can't--"
In no time at all, Ty was out of bed, ripping needles and tubes out of his arms. "Hey! You have to--you can't--" "Watch me," he said weakly, removing the gown and putting on his regular clothes. "I'm checking myself out, I'm better. I have some things to take care of." He grabbed onto the table for balance after he finished getting dressed and pulled his gloves over his hands. Storming into the hall, he grabbed his phone, scrolling through contacts.
Tses wasn't good at goodbyes, temporary or not. She also wasn't good at waiting, since patience seemed to elude her. After Ty slipped into a comma, she struggled to deal with the possibility of one, and the inevitability of the other. She didn't know how long he would be out, but as time wore on, she felt herself slipping away.
Distance made it a little better, so did activity. She took back up theft to keep the apartment and feed Ty's cat, but it was difficult to manage payments on her own especially since this place was nicer than her old one. At first she was sad, then she was angry, now she just felt bitter and irritated. She stopped carrying her phone, sulked, but eventually just learned there was nothing she could do.
The phone returned to her pocket. And the thieving continued.
The phone call came at the worst time, some three months after Ty's coma started. After a rather large (and clumsy) heist at a local music store, she found herself running down the streets as the cops yelled after her. Her light form had gotten her out the mall, and halfway to safety, but it was the middle of the month, and her energy faded quickly. The phone buzzed sometime when the first shot fired. Tses ducked, and quickly put the reciever to her ear.
"Can't really talk right now..."She panted, and a bullet pinged off the building next to her. She cursed and ducked into an alley.

This...was not what Ty was hoping for. It should have been expected, yes, but hey, the guy just woke up from a coma. His heart started racing; she was panting, and he was sure he heard a gunshot in the background. She'd gotten herself into trouble, and he was in no shape to save the day this time.
"I...oh..." was all he could say at first. "Are you okay? I...I'm here now...I..." He kept a death-grip on the phone, making his way out the door, cursing a few doctors, nurses, and personnel on his way out for trying to make him stay.
Once outside, he thought about going home. Was home still home? What had changed in his absence? Did she even love him anymore? It had been three months after all...and to her...maybe he left her again, in a way...
She could hear the disappointment in his voice, and part of her felt builty for answering the phone like she had. But it was hard to have a touching reunion when the cops were closing in on your tail.
"Here, where is here? The house?" She yelped slightly as another shot skimmed her shoulder. Cursing more loudly, she snarled at the cops behind her. "Hey! I'm trying to have a phone call!"
The ping of another bullet sent her scrambling for a fire escape. She shoved the phone down her shirt as she scrambled for safety, with a "Please hold!" With acrobatic grace she clambered onto the roof top and tried to ignore the burning in her muscles. After jumping to the next building, she pulled the phone back out. "Glad...you're still kickin..." It was hard to talk and run at the same time.

"I...just checked myself out of the hospital," he replied. "Is home still...home?" he asked, overwhelmed by emotions by now. He missed her, yet at the same time, he was worried. Though he remembered Tses was tough, stubborn, and good at getting out of trouble, but Ty's luck had run out for three months...
"Yeah. It takes more than that to keep me down. I...I'll see you at home, okay?" he said softly. "I love you."
After the conversation ended, Ty hung up and headed down the streets he knew so well; it was like riding a bicycle. You just don't forget. The apartment soon came into view, and he made his way up to theirs, opening the door. Yep, it was still home. As noted by the cat quickly running to him and mewing.
"Hey there Mischief! I missed you too girl~" he cooed, petting her.
Ty sat on the couch, waiting, but after awhile he got antsy and climbed out the window, up the fire escape, and perching on the roof, looking out across the city. His icy blue eyes scanned, looking for the familiar form of his girlfriend. It had been so long. Too long.
Just like that, they hung up, he was heading home and she was...sort of, heading home. Not in a direct line, mind you. You don't lead the cops to your house when you're smart. She looped back towards an old hideaway, and it seemed like she was getting the lead, when one last shot ricocheted...
And hit her in the arm.
Fan-fricking-tastic.
She ran, she hid, and about an hour after hanging up with Ty, she managed to drag her sorry butt back up the fire escape, and into the apartment window. She didn't see Ty right away, which was a relief. Maybe if she snuck really quietly she could get to the bathroom before he heard her....

He didn't know how long he sat there, waiting like a sick puppy. But the longer time had gone on, the more worried he started to feel. Luck was a fickle thing...maybe it had stopped smiling on the two of them. Sighing, he made his way back down the escape and in through the window.
He didn't notice that she'd made it in without him seeing; that never crossed his mind. What did was every other possibility that didn't end well. He lay down on the couch, tears streaming down his face.
But soon, he realized how drained the hospital had made him, and how comfortable the couch was. A tear still rolling down his cheek, he ended up drifting off...
She made it to the bathroom. Ty was thankfully napping on the couch. Hopefully napping. After his months in the coma that sight made her heard swirl a little, but she wasn't sure she was ready to try waking him up yet. Instead, she quickly pulled off her bloody shirt and turned the sink on. After rinsing off her arm, she cursed slightly as she caught sight of the shiny metal bullet still lodged in her skin.
Fan-frickin-tastic.
Rather than ruining more clothing, she grabbed a towel and pressed it against her arm then carefully crept out of the bathroom. The kitchen was nearby, so she tried her best to get a knife without waking Ty up. Task accomplished, she fiddled with the stove, grateful for the open flame. Sanitizing the knife would be the easy part, trying to cut the bullet out of her arm without waking her recently coma-induced boyfriend... well...

Ty's sleep was deep, but it wasn't so deep that he didn't hear her voice. The problem was, he'd heard his voice in his head the entire time he was in the coma. Or, he thought he did; that kind of thing was really weird.
But sooner or later, his icy blue eyes slid open, and he sat straight up. He saw her trying to cut a bullet out of her arm in the kitchen. She didn't have a shirt on, but he really didn't care about that. He wanted so many things right now; to run over and hug her, to feel her in his arms again.
But deep down he knew she had to be taken care of first, and that, though he hated to admit it, was something she liked to do herself. For now, he just sat there and smiled, feeling another tear creep out of his eye.
There was a noise from the living room and Tses glanced out of the corner of her eye, heat rushing to her face. Okay, so now he wakes up. She awkwardly gave a little hand-wave to acknowledge him, then finished with the bullet, which only had slightly more cussing before the bullet hit the sink.
"Frickin' cops..." Rinsing off her arm and pressing the cloth to her arm, she pulled open some cabinets until she found her first aid kit. Wandering into the living room, she awkwardly held it out to Ty.
"Welcome home?" She remarked with a sheepish half-smile, and glanced down at her bloodied arm.

Ty looked at her, his eyes fixed on her for a moment; she was just as beautiful as always, and it made him smile more. "Cops and hospitals..." He chuckled lightly, his heart softening even more as she held out the first aid kit.
Setting it on the table, he opened the kit and cleaned the wound before wrapping it as he had done so many times before. "It's almost like I never even left," he said with a smile.
Carefully, he leaned in and planted a quick kiss on her lips. "Hope you didn't get into too much trouble without me," he almost whispered, though playfully.
The heat rushed back to Tses' face with the kiss, and she looked down at her knees awkwardly. Her arm stung, but she didn't feel it enough with all the emotions rushing back to the surface.
"It's...been different. It's a bit harder to steal for a bigger apartment, and feed a cat and all. I just... and you were..." Her skin flickered with light, and she looked at the wall. Everything she felt the past few months felt pointless. She wanted to be mad he went and did that. She wanted to be clingy and romantic and pretend it never happened.

"I know," he said softly. "I admit, I let my curiosity get the best of me. I used my power on something that was too old...and...well, next thing I know I'm waking up in the hospital almost three months later."
He bit his lip. "I'm sorry. But you're not by yourself anymore. I'm back..." Ty knew what he wanted to do, but he waited for her. This was a dangerous situation if he didn't play it right after all.
"I didn't do it on purpose. I promised I'd never do that again. Tses, I love you."
Tses opened her mouth, then shut it again. Somehow the words tuck in her throat. It wasn't that she didn't care, it wasn't that she didn't miss him, but the emotions were all coming back. She wanted to just forget, forgive, let it go, but...
"You left. You were gone, but you were right there. I came, and I talked to you... I yelled at you... I asked you to come back. And you didn't. I hate hospitals, but I sat there, and I waited. Eventually I couldn't keep coming by... I couldn't keep waiting like that..." She looked at him, and her eyes felt moist, but she swiped her hand across them and shrugged.
"I stayed here though, hoped. Because I...I love you too..." Getting shot seemed a lot simpler than dealing with this.

"I know...you were the person I asked for. The doctor told me you'd come by." He took her hand, looking deep into her eyes. "I was worried something had happened...that...maybe you didn't love me anymore. That...that maybe my luck had finally run out." Ty bit his lip again, wiping tears from his own eyes.
"But it meant alot to me that you waited, that you came to see me even when you didn't have to. I know you couldn't do that forever." He took a deep breath, his breathing now shaky as he tried to keep from crying. He wanted nothing more than to hold her, but...he didn't. He was afraid to, in a sense.
