The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was late...or early...who cares? It was dark and Ty was having trouble sleeping, despite having the sleeping Tses--albeit still injured--snuggled up next to him. He had to admit that was something Sanctuary or the Order never could have given him. He loved her, and there was no denying that. She was everything to him. But...he couldn't sleep right now.
Dreams had kept him awake, only these didn't end in him screaming bloody murder and making Tses light through the bed. But it was very similar dreams. In all of them he lost her again. Leaning down he planted a soft kiss on her forehead, then eased out of bed, and made his way through the living room of their apartment, to the kitchen.
He opened the fridge, setting the orange juice on the counter, then reached into the cabinet for a glass, setting that next to his juice. Before he poured the juice, he looked around, then put the carton up to his lips and turned it up real quick.

"I knew this was the kind of place where you could drink from the carton... I hope you don't mind I partook as well."
The OJ might taste a little funny.
Oh, and there was a rather large Roach hanging out just in that one place Ty had neglected to glance at before he broke the sacred, "no backwash" rule. For shame.
"You look well, Mister Fisher! Well... Well enough, anyway. Oh, and I ate your left overs... I really did think you'd be out sooner, what with the restlessness you've been experiencing lately."
He chuckled a little.
"That's not to be unexpected, though. I do recall not too long ago I entrusted you with a task of some importance to me..." He sauntered on up, and moved to loop and arm over his buddy's shoulder. "You can't have forgotten. You are sleeping with it, after all."
"I do have to tell you, Mister Fisher... My feelings are quite hurt."

PFFFFFT! OJ went everywhere, both spewing out of Ty's mouth and from the carton that hit the floor when Roach spoke. One would think the kid would get used to that, but given the circumstances...well...he didn't know what Roach thought of him right now.
Ty turned to look at his boss his hands suddenly becoming cold, but he realized that was because they were bare. This was one of those ultra-rare occasions where Ty went to sleep with his gloves off. Actually this had to have been the first time since his powers surfaced.
"I couldn't do it," he said, eyes glued on Roach, expecting the worst. "I tried, but in the end I realized I'd probably be feeling even worse if I succeeded. I didn't try to hide; I knew you'd catch up to me eventually. And I kept Jeniffer alive. I mean, I knew nothing good would come from her getting back to you, but if I know you, much worse would have happened if she didn't. Yeah, I failed a job, and it's the only job I don't want to see finished." He paused, sighing. "I know I'm of value to you, but she's of value to me. The only person that does, really. Everyone else...casual friends, or sources of a paycheck."

Roach listened patiently as Ty spat out the orange juice all over his face and began to talk.
An unsettling silence fell upon the room as he finished talking. The giant bug studied him for a moment, as if he were lost in thought, and then spoke in a measured droll. "We shall address all of your points in order, then. You didn't try to hide, but you didn't seek me out. You didn't report in. Of course you didn't kill Jen. You know the consequences. Oddly enough, something quite good came of her making it back to me. Your saving grace. You failed me, Mister Fisher. You didn't just fail a job, you failed ME." That last syllable broke the calm tone he had been sporting, coming out loud enough for the neighbors to hear. Even so, he took a moment, and returned to his cool composure. "Yet in light of recent events... I am willing to give you another chance. If I am simply the source of a paycheck, then you can simply be a tool in my inventory. When one tool does not perform its job, it's normally thrown away. Now, if this woman is so valuable to you, perhaps, then, she can be of value to me as well." Did... he actually seem hurt by Ty's last sentence?
He reached down to grab a dish cloth hanging on the oven, wiping down his face, and then leaned against the oven as he finished cleaning himself. "So. You both work for me. I pay your paltry rent, I give you spending money... enough for a couple to... do what ever couples do. And you do what I want. Both of you. Do what I want." He tossed the towel to Ty, and eyed him studiously, as if he could make the decision for both of them.

Ty bit his lip as the silence settled in. Then, Roach started talking, and the ginger found himself somewhat missing the ominous silence. "Yeah, I failed you, I get that." He sighed as Roach spoke again. "I didn't mean you as a paycheck source...you're...complicated," He paused after that, then let out another sigh, leaning against the counter.
"Yes, you're my boss, but you taught me everything I know. Gave me something when I had nothing. I owe you for that, but...you gave me the one job I couldn't do. And...she isn't like me. I can't decide for her." He paused again, eying Roach but somewhat moving over so he was closer to the bedroom door.
Roach's head rocked a little as Ty backpedaled just a bit.
"Yes, you're my boss, but you taught me everything I know. Gave me something when I had nothing. I owe you for that, but...you gave me the one job I couldn't do. And...she isn't like me. I can't decide for her."
"Yes, yes I did. And yes. Yes you do. You know what, Mr. Fisher. I heart-fully agree with you! Let's wake ol' Testy Tessy up, shall we?" The giant bug swept Ty aside as he tried to step between him and the bedroom, and called out in a voice that started out pleasantly and added more grit as the sentence went on.
"Oh Tessy deaaaar! Wakey wakeeey! Your RECKONING has come~~~"
He stopped outside the bedroom door, and prepared to knock. "Also, we're making breakfast!"
Knock-Knock-Knock
"Ty. Be a dear and start cooking, will you? The grown ups have to have a little talk."

In normal circumstances, Tses would have woken up much sooner had some stranger entered her house. However, with injuries, and stress, and general chaos, a deep sleep was much needed for the exhausted mutant. Unlike Ty, she was sleeping rather calmly for once. At least, she had been. Until a terrifyingly familiar voice rang out and sent her screeching through the bed in undignified fear.
Through. Yes, through.
As the darkness under the bed, Tses glowed like a lightning bug. The faint trail of light illuminated the bedskirt, and it was painfully obvious where she had went. If the curses coming from the location didn't reveal that.
Amidst the profanity, the words 'What is he doing here?' may have worked their way in. In squeaky un-authoritative pained cowering.
