"Uselsess? Maybe, maybe not," Ty countered. "The difference between me and a gender-shifter is that I'll never lose the balls it takes to stand up for myself. Which is more than I can say for someone who runs around capping mutants. OH, limps around capping mutants, sorry, sir..." Ty said, the sarcasm just dripping from his voice with every word.

Due to recent events, Ty was more...edgy in the face of adversity lately. That, and it was 2 in the freaking morning. It was too early/late for this load of crap. The redhead looked at the piece of paper. "Well, without even touching it, it's talking to me," he said, taking it between his fingers and avoiding his palm. "Looks to me like...you're an ass. You're up a creek..." He flipped the paper over, looking at it and smirking. "And karma is a cruel, yet just, mistress."

Ty chuckled, shaking his head at her. "Okay, true. Explosives are always fun, as long as I'm not on the receiving end of them~" He paused, remembering said 'fiasco.' Yeah, that was a little too close for comfort. "Yeeeah....very true. Looting, we'll have to add to our list. But since we have no car we'll have to keep it light. Old hoard for some thieves." He left it at that, then she explained why the couple was arguing earlier.

"You're only starting out with pickpocketing. I'm just laying off for today," he said, a competitive gleam in his eye. "Though I'd call a string of missing wallets attention-worthy, so it's best to lay off. Though, I should add that I may not pride myself on it, but I've a little bit of burglary and B&E myself." He winked, smirking a little.

Ty shrugged, winking back. "I honestly don't know. I had everything planned out, up to this point. Now we're just flying blind." Ty looked off in the distance, and he couldn't help but feel somewhat sorry for the poor couple. Sure, they were celebrating Valentine's with blood and gore, but at least he and Tses were happy overall.

"I can't help but wonder what he did to piss her off that badly," he murmured. "That's a cute bear though. Think he'll sell it to me?" Ty joked lightly, not really meaning it, but hey, he couldn't resist.

It was at this point that, right on cue, the beads of sweat began to form on Ty's brow, but he merely nodded when she spoke. "Fair enough," was all he said at first. "Besides, that's just an added bonus. I just like spending time with ya, honestly. Though really I was just making a point that if I couldn't do anything but sit around a house or room, I'd go crazy."

He shrugged casually, and spent the rest of his meal in silence as he ate. Six hot wings, three breadsticks, six pieces of pizza and a cup of soda later, Ty was finally full. He leaned back in his chair, relaxing. "Okay...I'm officially good for exactly nothing."

Ty chuckled, shaking his head. "I'd met this girl named Aura, and discussing our powers, she had this crazy idea. I thought it'd be easy. Swipe a wallet from someone who used the ATM, touch his glasses, get his PIN. Turned out my target was a piece of dirt. And those glasses saw everything he'd done..." He shuddered visibly, losing the smile.

"In that sense, not my best idea."

Ty was honestly too flustered to catch much of what Harlan was saying. He wasn't mad at Tses, however, mostly just himself. A thief with a thief girlfriend suddenly deciding to take on an investigator job....bad idea. But it was too late now.

Ty bit his lip; it wasn't a first time offense, there was no way she was going to get off easy. When they stopped at the red-light, Ty finally spoke, looking at Harlan. "You're right," he said coldly. "I do have a tough choice to make..."

With that, he flung off his seatbelt, threw open the car door, and sprung out of the car, making a run for it. He darted into an alley, shimmying up a fire escape, and leaped across the close-together roof-tops before shimmying down another alley and turning for Tses's apa--no. That was stupid. He'd have to meet up with her, but it was a foolish idea to lead someone like Harlan to her place.

Instead, he ran down the street, glancing over his shoulder to see if he'd lost the investigator. Then, he ducked into a phone booth, pulling out his wallet, looking for a scrap of paper. "Got it!" He pulled out the piece of paper he'd scribbled Tses's name on, then inserted change into the payphone and dialed the number. He sighed, getting voice-mail.

"Tses, it's Ty. The good news is, I got that job. The bad news is we're in trouble. Meet me in that abandoned building not far from your place, the one we jumped off of on Christmas. I can explain when when get there."

With that, he hung up the phone, and darted back down the street, again taking to the rooftops.

Ty nodded in agreement while he was stuffing his face. "Yeah, that keeps me in shape too. Yeah, yeah, even the dogs. I can't turn a backflip, but the day the cops start gaining, or if I can't make it up a fire escape, or hell, if I feel the fire escape trying to break on me....then I'll start watching my diet. With what we do, being out of shape really isn't really an option. I know what you mean though...I mean, I'm glad I have you to spend moments of my life with, but...if all we did was lay around the house? I'd go crazy. With or without..."

He blushed, stuffing his face full of food and ignoring the rest of that thought. Maybe she wouldn't notice?
