The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"It doesn't," Ty replied. "In fact, most of the time I think it revolves around whether or not hugging you will get me killed! I love you, I do. But it's not exactly easy," he snapped.
"I try my best for you. I'd be willing to bet you only even came with me today because your little comments at first upset me...I like the fun. I like the adventure. What I'm not liking is the hostility. It makes me afraid, okay? All I know is, if throwing shit at me is how you show your love, please don't hate me anytime soon." Ty then picked up another phone, throwing it at the same spot the jar had, sending it into a million pieces as well. It helped, some...but it didn't solve anything.
"Maybe I'm just foolish for thinking this would actually work..." With that, he turned, stomping into the living area.

Ty had to smile as she landed in front of him. "Eh, I've learned to give others a chance, no matter how they look. And yeah, Butterfly's somethin' else. We met maybe a couple months ago, and my power showed me that she was my sister. Thanks to that alone, we've gotten pretty close. Even if I've done some...questionable things, such as lending her that hideout...but it was only supposed to be temporary. She'd said something about sleeping on park benches, and...anything beats that." He gave a slight shrug.
"Oh, but last time we spoke, she asked me about helping her move soon, and that's where you came up."

Ty didn't say anything. He knew that of all people, he was probably the most....accepting of Tses's personality type. There were those that didn't put up with any crap, and it seemed likely that Regan could be one of them.
Ty chuckled lightly at the bra comment, thinking to himself that there was only one bra he'd like to see the history of, but that was another matter entirely. Speaking of which...
Ty sighed, tossing the jar over his shoulder, shattering against the wall and sending the colorful contents showering down in a cascade of broken glass away from the two of them, and the electronic devices in question.
"What would I need them for?" Ty muttered dryly. "Not that I expect to get any sometime soon...or ever." He sighed, picking up a cell phone that looked rather interesting, then pocketed it. Maybe it could prove useful later. Unlike other certain things scattered about the room.

Yeah, this isn't something that needs to go into effect soon, as there are still kinks to work out. The mutant thing is just a suggestion. Seeing as how the mutant-triggering stuff like this is common, I'd like something different, but that's a fallback.
Anything I've mentioned can be tweaked to make it simpler/less confusing.
Hmm...or maybe if we can just find some way to play it as just that--an Alternate reality, with maybe no direct link to the present. It's just a massive...What-If universe?
I appreciate the feedback and the participation. I posted this not only to suggest a plot idea, but so that maybe we can build on this together. Sure, the foundation may be my idea, but the plot as a whole, if/when we initiate it, will be something that everyone who responded will have had a part in creating as well as playing it out.
Also it would give those poor saps like me, who missed AoS to dabble in something like this. xD

I had a thought on this at work, though as far as your edit goes, Tses, I agree 100%. Was thinking on those same lines.
So, what if there is a mutant capable of altering a person's reality? That kinda power would take alot of control. So, here's the deal. If this is the route we take, for some reason or another, he or she is dying. This sends his/her power out of control, affecting the immediate area, sinking into their subconscious and changing their past, sending them into more of an alternate/virtual reality than a dream.
As time draws on, the mutant's death draws closer, and the effect weakens. Until finally, the mutant in question dies, returning everything back to pretty much normal. But the memory remains...
EDIT: So I did some thinking. Everyone in the alternate reality will know everyone they'd met before this. Anyone you meet in the alternate reality will give you a feeling of "Do I know them from somewhere?" after it's over. Anyone not participating in the plot will either be cleverly handwaved or written out as to avoid confusion.
I hope I'm being clear here. I know it seems sorta complicated, but that's what threads like this are for, right? x3

I'm not sure how it would happen exactly, but I was thinking that everyone's histories were slightly tweaked.
Like maybe somehow, all involved characters are given the same opportunity to change one event in their history, and the alternate reality is the result of this.

It'd affect everyone. The alternate-present would pretty much be one where everyone's respective histories have changed. Which in turn, has changed the present, due to a certain event not happening or ending differently. So AU Ty and AU Miles probably wouldn't have the same relationship Ty and Miles do, AU Ty and AU Tses likely aren't dating...AU Ty may not be living at Sanct, or may not even be a pickpocket.
It takes some thinking, I know, but I thought it could be fun. Take a moment from your history, tweak it to your liking, and...how does that change the events that followed?
I know there are some holes, but hopefully it'll get easier to think on once we fill those out, like how it would happen in the first place. xD

Ty chuckled, navigating through the mess. "She's not that bad. I kinda like her, honestly. Found her in the woods that day you told me to take a day to go relax." Okay, it wasn't so much a mess as everything was pretty well organized. Bags, TVs in the bathtub, Ipods and CD players and the like in the sink, and next to the TVs...
"I see like three laptops over here next to the TVs. You can check those out. And yeah, part of why I quit running with the clowns." He shrugged, working to the back corner of the small bathroom. "They really fit a lot of crap in here. ...What the...." Ty blinked, picking up a moderate-sized jar filled with..."Those better not be what I think they are." Yep...they were. Condoms.

Everyone has it. That one moment in your life that should have or could have turned out differently. Maybe it was that choice that blew up and sent everything out of control. Or maybe it was a circumstance completely out of anyone's control; something that just happened. The past, though filled with it's darkness, made you who you are today. And you can't change the past. ...Or can you?
I don't know how this originates yet, but to keep this going: What if you could alter one moment in your life-time? Just to see how things would have turned out. Maybe that life-changing disaster never happened, or maybe that winning lottery ticket found its way into your grubby little paws after all.
And that's it in a nutshell: An alternate present-day, where one event of the characters' pasts has been altered to their liking. Changing the past, however, alters the events to follow. Financial status changes, occupations, even relationships change or cease to exist entirely.
I ran this by the mods, and it was suggested that I post it and see what you guys all think. Sooo....questions? Comments? Criticisms?

Ty gave a dry laugh. "Yeah...Lady Luck doesn't like me very much, I don't think. Though it has its moments." He sighed softly out of his nose. "It's peaceful, all right, and I can understand. Especially with all this tension that seems to be building towards our kind. Honestly though, from what I gather so far, you make better company than most of the quote-unquote 'normal' looking ones." He gave a soft smile.

"Tiger mutant...Regan? Yeah I met her awhile back, too. One of Butterfly's friends. I think she lives at the mansion though," Ty replied, nodding thoughtfully.
Ty shrugged. "I didn't steal them. Some guys I used to run with did. Re-stumbled upon this place awhile back, and this crap was here. What they liked to do is steal stuff like this, then sell it for a profit. But they're in jail now, likely forever, and this? Well....this is a trove ripe for the picking." He grinned.

Ty stared down the barrel of the gun, listening as the man spoke. So it looked like he'd been drafted into this little...escapade. Great. Sure, he'd helped an investigator before, but that was different. For one, the investigator was a mutant, who actually paid him. And second, the whole thing turned into one big fiasco really fast. But now, Ty found himself at gunpoint, enlisted in some god-forsaken mutant hunt which he really didn't want to be a part of.
"So, you want me to tell you where he's been, so you can figure out where he's going...makes perfect sense." Ty muttered. To him, it didn't make sense. Unless there was some pattern to be found in the killing.
When the gun dropped, Ty sighed, reluctantly pulling out his wallet and handing Rupert his ID. However, the address was long expired. Ms. Jenkins had made him get an ID when she found him, and he hadn't lived there in forever. Especially not now.

"Shut me up? But you haven't even bought me dinner yet." Okay, so maybe Ty was having too much fun with this guy, but it was just so...easy. Then, he took the paper and let Ty go. "Oh, you mean you didn't want me to scribble my nu--" Oh crap gun. That shut the redhead up real quick. The warm barrel pressed against his head wasn't quite like he imagined it would be to have a gun pressed to his head. Not that he thought about it on a regular basis. Why didn't I think about him having a gun since he does get turn-ons capping mu--oh right. It's 2 in the ****ing morning. Why don't you put that gun down and try to kick my ass the old fashoined way? Oh right...one-legged man. Ass kicking contest...heh.
Ty's thoughts were suddenly jerked back to the reality that he could get a bullet through his skull. That made his pale face even whiter. "No, I wouldn't like that. I'd like to get to bed with my brains inside my head," Ty replied, his voice having lost that sarcastic twang, which was now replaced by something he hadn't spoken with in quite some time. What was it again...oh right. Fear. Fear for his own life, not someone else's, in an odd twist of fate.
"What interest do you have in me anyway? I'll forget who you are by tomorrow, and your dirty little secret stays between you, me, and the hat." His breathing steadied a little, though it's hard to relax with a gun to your head. His hands were raised, to show he was...giving up?
Though, smartly, he left the knife in his pocket. now wishing he had something that could kick ass, as much as he did like his psychometry most of the time.

"I'm aware of what time it is. I was on my way to bed," Ty snapped, his right hand in his pants pocket, as per usual, as he was slammed against the wall. His fingertips brushed his knife, not quite grasping it, however. The boy was merely debating. But for now, it was best if he entertained this...gentleman. After all, Ty didn't want to make a habit of stabbing people. And this situation wasn't kill or be killed. Yet.
"Friends? What friends?" he asked dryly. "I'm just a little freak, I don't have any friends..." Ty snorted, then looked his foe right in the eye. "Screw you. I do have friends, but I don't know any precog. And, it sounds to me like you're up **** creek without a shovel."
Ty just couldn't resist. This guy was too easy to come back at. "Oh, now that you think about it...I guess that puppy I kicked finally came back to haunt me, huh?" he said with a shrug. "He just wanted a nibble at my leg, so...I guess I had this one a'comin'~"

Ty shrugged, smiling lightly. "Yeah, though really I don't hang around there too awful much. I spend more time at your place, to be honest. I haven't met Allison yet, I don't think. Or the guy that nearly got you arrested...but I met a dinosaur-shifter, a girl named Aura, for obvious reasons, Roach...The list goes on." He chuckled a little, glad she accepted his little kiss.
"I haven't got much of a brain to wash. Half of it is memories from crap I touch and the other half is you." He stuck his tongue out at her, then winked.
Soon, they reached a condemned apartment building, and he made his way inside and to the first room on the first floor. He knocked on the door, but when he got no answer, he let himself in.
"Butterfly sort of crashes here right now, til she gets moved in at the mansion," Ty explained, then motioned to a pile of electronics and assorted goods in a corner of the room. "That's her share. But there's plenty more where that came from." Then, he opened the bathroom, revealing quite the stash. First thing Ty did, was to grab a couple of backpacks with price tags still on them, and tossed Tses one. "Since we don't have a car, I guess we just fill these backpacks?"
