The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

I was thinking maybe some characters resemble those from Wonderland. I was thinking maybe more than one char can bare the same resemblance, because I highly doubt they'd really be the same, keeping in mind character and player style. Though, there probably will be a limit on how many can take on the same one, because what fun is it with thirty Hatters and no other likenesses running around?
This part is still being ironed out, however, but that's what these threads are for~

Ty could tell she was jumpy, though he still couldn't quite place her. Oh well, it didn't really matter all that much, right? What mattered was now. The young man checked himself over, black tee shirt with a green fish on it didn't have a single flaw, and his skin didn't have the slightest scratch.
"Nah, I'm fine. Besides, this day and age, a knick ain't nothin'. I've had it alot worse." He gave a slight shrug before extending his right hand to her, wearing a pair of black fingerless gloves instead of his usual green. Actually, the green ones were back home, in the wash.

Ty blinked at the offer. He knew Noel could do that; she'd told him. But...he never thought of asking her...that is, never thought there would be a way.
"I...I might take you up on that when we get home. I mean, I might have a thing or two...that maybe I'd be better off not knowing. Actually...I have something. Something that's seen the past eleven years of my life." He silenced, not really wanting to say too much, but then turned his attention to Drake. The man nodded at her, but turned back to Noel, deeply thinking on her offer.
There was one thing in particular that still ate at him. But did he really want to forget it? Would it really be better if he did? He didn't know...

"'The time has come,' the Fisher said, 'to talk of many things. Of plots and plans and silly hats, of cabbages and kings. And while the city is distraught, and logic's lost it's sting..."
'Rena and I have been working on this idea for awhile, and though there are kinks and holes in it we need to work out, we thought it was about time to bring it to light. The basis of the idea is this: MRO+Alice in Wonderland.
For Origin, this will likely end up being a dream; some are aware of this, and some aren't. Or maybe it's an illusion. It's real, and yet it isn't. The exact origin of this dream/illusion is unknown.
As a result of this, however, NYC has become its own version of Alice in Wonderland. The city is now twisted and colorful, and nothing really logically makes sense. Characters' appearances have changed to somewhat represent the setting, and mutations either work differently than they usually would--either to some quirky or useless extent--or not at all.
As far as timeline continuity goes, I'm not entirely sure. I'm thinking it lasts as long as we want, having no real effect on present-day plot, but in RP time it lasts the exact equivalent of one good night's sleep.
This is the foundation that we have laid out. Any feedback is welcome~

Ty winced when she mentioned how she usually blew off steam. "Good thing you were driving..." he murmured. "Me, I did it for the rush. I was stressed, down, or just had pent up aggression, I steal, pick on a cop, maybe even start a fight I knew I couldn't win. Stealing's gone from a way of life to just that--an outlet. I don't need to pick pockets anymore, but I do it anyway."

Wait...Ty admitted he should have seen that one coming but...crap. From the corner of his eye, Ty surveyed the target in question. He almost looked...nervous. And he wasn't in a group like the rest of them. Maybe he was new. Then again according to Roach, he was in the heart of this gang's turf. Home-field advantage definitely did not go to the ginger in the jacket.
Slowly, Ty stood to his feet, casually walking down the sidewalk and slipping into a side alley. Sticking to the shadows, he snuck around until he was behind the target in question. Then...he struck, gloved hands grabbing the bandanna and pulling it tighter around his neck and dragging him by it into the alley.
The man let out a yelp in surprise, and a gasp for help before he died, but it was almost as quiet as Ty had planned. Removing the body's bandanna, he slipped it into his coat pocket, tucking it away as he started up the nearest fire escape.

"Yeah, we're just friends," Ty replied. Friends who've risked life and limb for each other, and done even crazier things than that... The boy had to laugh to himself at that. "Actually I never really got your last name. You never gave it to me." He sat idly, just to give any information the others may need.
He had to shake his head at how stupid he had to sound though. Here they were, getting tattoos together, they'd helped each other out of jams, and were living together right now...and he didn't even have her last name. Maybe it was stupid that he was growing attached to her. Or maybe it was just that he'd seen so much of her life, that he sort of bonded. Hell...he didn't know. But he'd blame whatever he could find, if necessary.
It didn't even matter, did it? They were friends. Ty finally had someone besides a sister. Even if the sister was permanent. He just had to find a way to hang on without pushing away again.

Ty snapped back to reality when he collided with someone. Neither of them fell; it was just a shoulder to shoulder bump. It hurt him a little, yes, but more than that, he felt bad about hitting someone.
"No, it's my fault," Ty argued gently. "I was running and not looking where I was going. I've just had alot on my mind is all. Or not on my mind...Or...I don't know." Ty couldn't help but think this gargoyle looked familiar, somehow, but he didn't really dwell on it. "You okay? I mean, I didn't hurt you or anything, did I?"

Ty followed, becoming a little uneasy by the 'I mean just you's Roach was throwing out. They were more than a bit disheartening. But this was motivating, in a sense. He surveyed the surroundings with his icy blue eyes from the bench. Red bandannas everywhere.
"I'd say the key is to find one that's more isolated, he said quietly as he looked around. "Like that guy, leaned against the building....though....the key isn't to approach him. At least not directly. You approach him quietly, and from the shadows. Like that alley right there. From behind. For the kill, do it not only quietly, but without being seen. I like the idea getting him behind that dumpster and using his own bandanna he wears around his neck. And in my case, disappear. Take to the rooftops and make myself scarce. Fast." He scratched his chin, having come to this conclusion, making sure they weren't heard. "And I'd take the bandanna. Fingerprints."
Ty didn't know why, exactly, but he found himself running. Blowing off steam, burning energy? He didn't know. He'd woken up at the crack of dawn and left Sanctuary while Noel was still asleep. Once outside the golden doors, the kid just took off running the all-too familiar terrain of New York City. Climbing fire escapes, leaping from roof to roof, then climbing back down onto the city below. And once feet touch the ground again, keep on running.
Not that the boy was running away from anything. He just planned on running a few blocks before heading back home and going back to sleep. It felt good to be able to run again, not having to hobble or limp anymore. Though the scar on his leg would be a constant reminder.
But this whole running thing, it was a rush. A way to lose oneself. Sure, there were two or three things about his life that he could no longer remember, but it didn't matter. He was still a somewhat troubled young man, but all of his troubles melted away into the pitter-patter of his own footsteps.
He took a sharp turn into an alley, not slowing down, and by this point he wasn't paying too much attention. The only thing he noticed was the feeling of the wind against his face, blowing his ginger hair everywhere.

Ty gave a laugh, realizing something. The laugh was one unlike any Ty had ever let pass out of his mouth. It was a dark, menacing sort of laugh. "He's just ****ing with me...he's a precog...he full well knows what she's capable of. Hell...moreso than I do. I think our little buddy just made a very crucial ****-up. First possibility is, he's bluffing, or he doesn't intend to kill her. If he does...well he's as good as dead, if not dead already. Either way...we have him." The post-cog grinned a sick, psychotic grin.
When the car stopped at the building, Ty took charge as he got out. "All you have to do is push the front door open and slide your way in. Behind the cashier-counter is a door. Behind that, stairs that lead to the apartment above. Meanwhile, I'm taking the scenic route, up the fire escape, through the window. We meet in the middle." At this, Ty closed the door, climbing his way up the fire escape behind the building. Opening the window, he found a note, which he opened to read.
Meanwhile, on the front door of the building was a similar note for Rupert. Which read:
So...it seems we are nearing the end of our little game. But there is still a lot of fun to be had. Then again, the best part of a close game is the bottom of the ninth inning, the fourth quarter, and the last set, hm?
Your friend's a bit off with the exact location, but you are close. All you have to do is follow the clues~
By the way, don't mind Tyler's aggressiveness. I just have the hots for his sister Now be a good little zealot and run inside. My notes should be easy to find. They're the only thing not covered in dust.
P.S. The hat still looks better on him. Just sayin.

Climbing into the car and slamming the door, Ty quickly snapped on his seatbelt. He was still fueled by rage, and impatient to get to where they were going.
"It's an old curio and antiques shop on such-and-such avenue. When the owner died, the family just left it there. The deed, the rights to the building, they touched nothing. I went through this urban exploration phase, so I've been there once or twice."
Ty actually seemed to calm down. That is, until Rupert asked about who Simon threatened. "You don't care," he said flatly, not even looking at the man. "I'm just some punk mutant kid off the street. My problems, my life, none of that means a hill of **** to you. I know it, you know it. I'm only useful to you because of my mutation. All you need to know is that your buddy Simon gave me just as much--if not more--reason than you to see that he's dead." Ty glared out the window. If you lay one hand on my ****ing sister, I swear to everything holy....
Ty flinched when Rupert grabbed the back of his shirt; the zealot damn near got punched in the face for that, but Ty's anger was channeled towards one person. So much so that until now, he hadn't fully thought through what he was doing. Wait...
"It's a place called Granny's Junk Drawer. Been out of business but still fully furnished. Maybe three to five miles from this spot. ****....we better take the car. Hope you can drive better than you can walk," Ty grumbled, changing course to the direction of the car.
His voice was still a growl, and he by no means had calmed down. Simon was still going to pay for what he'd done...no one messed with Ty's loved ones. They were his. And he didn't have a whole lot of people he could call loved ones.

"The source is the bastard we're hunting," Ty hissed. "We're getting close. We have to be. That was the last victim on the list. We're going to an abandoned store-front. Fully furnished, but dead as a ghost town. We're getting closer on his trail. In fact...I think I recognize the room. As soon as I see the sorry ****** he's mine."
He cracked his knuckles, storming down the alley and not even looking at Rupert. The storefront in question was at least five miles away, but he kept walking. Maybe he was that pissed, or maybe he didn't care. Then again, Ty wasn't exactly what one would call rational.
Then again, when you mess with Ty's loved ones, you awaken something in the kid that is best left under the surface.
