The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ty was definitely feeling down on his luck. Nothing lately seemed to pan out his way--unless you count the countless times he narrowly escaped death. But considering how the last time resulted in him having to limp around for awhile...that was a bittersweet victory. And the events that followed--well, let's face it, there are plenty of those that he couldn't even remember. Sure, he could have used his mutation to figure it out easily, but...part of him wasn't 100% sure he wanted to.
Not to mention all of his foiled theft-attempts recently. Maybe he was just losing his touch...No. Never. He was just in a slump, and limp or no limp...he was still one hell of a thief and pickpocket. And he was going to prove it. Not to the world, not to his ex, not to anyone who thought poorly of him. He was going to prove it to that little voice in his head that seemed to down every little thing he did.
Up ahead, parked along the curb, was a van. Perfect. Though Ty would never steal a van, those had alot of room and usually contained some kind of loot, right? Of course. Quietly, the redhead limped over to it, opening and closing the door behind him as quietly as he could, climbing into the very back. See? Tools. Those could pick up some money.
Things were starting to look up, after all. Now...what else was in here...? Wow, tons of boxes of tools, hack saws...even a set of sai...Oh yeah. Definitely starting to look up. The only question was how to get this all out without being spotted...well, he could steal the whole van...
But this thought was interrupted by a sound that had him ducking under a nearby tarp.
New York never seemed to shut up. There were two things that Sara just didn’t appreciate. One of them was driving all of the way across town to collect her owed cash from one of her clientele. The other was not getting paid in full.
She’d been put in a bad mood and even though she held a thick wad of twenty dollar bills in her paw like hand, it was shorted 40 dollars. The client would be given one warning and then she’d remove their storage unit’s contents. Even though the amount of cash was small, she had the right not to let people get away with small things like that.
Her own emotions had her distracted. Other wise she the former feline thief would have smelled the other would be thief when she opened the van door and met her in the face carrying the sent of all of her other positions. Instead the cat woman paused with her van door open. She removed a couple of twenties from the wad of cash, and stuck them in her own pocket, then dropped the rest of the cash into an emerald green hello kitty where it was safe and sound. Using the driver’s side seat as a make shift desk, she scribbled a few notes down on a pad of paper, then climbed in. The ignition in the van turned over instantly open Sara’s command. So she tossed the notebook and the hello kitty pouch on top of the tarp, figuring that she’d organize things more later.
For now she just wanted to get out of this area before something else found reason to get on her nerves. Driving, she jumped the curve on her way out, not caring particularly much for the extra bouncing and she was back on the road. Leaning on her rolled down window with the wind in her face.

Ty heard the door open, which was bad. So, he curled up under the tarp and prayed that someone was just going to get something out and go back about their business. And, that seemed the case, seeing as how there was alot of ruffling.
...Crap. Something hit him upside the head, a...pouch or something. And...ow! Was that a notebook? Double crap...the door shut, the engine started, and the van began to move, jarring him very rudely on the takeoff.
Mentally, Ty was cursing every word and every deity he could think of. But a bigger question arose: Who the hell even owned this van? That could prove dangerous...But all he could do was hope for the best as his heart thumped in his chest and sweat beaded on his brow.
Looks like Ty's luck was still getting the better of him...
With the window down, and Sara was on the road again, she was starting to feel herself cool down a little. She didn't even care that with her window down, she was starting to cause people to rubber neck and stare at her. Apparently there wee some people in New York City who were still surprised do see a large predatory animal driving a car. Imagine that in this day and age.
With her elbow leaning out the window, and her other hand on the top of the wheal, the wind was pushing her longer hair on her head around her shoulder. With the wind this strong through the window, one could almost forget that the city smelled so.... Smelly. The wind also provided a small temporary favor to the Van's stow away. It pushed Ty's smell to the back of the van.
It all worked great that way until Sara came to a red light. It took her a moment. Her mind had been wondering and when the Ty's sent finally got the attention of Sara's senses, her jaw tightened. Glaring at the break lights of the car ahead of her. Something definitely had to be done... Something fun.
The red light turned green and traffic started up normally. Sara took a right, onto a wider road that would take her out of the city. The white cargo van made it a block down the street, where the traffic thinned, and Sara floored the accelerator. She swerved hard enough rattle her cargo, reached back, and yanked the tarp free from the back.
The redhead, would-be thief tried to stay calm and assess the situation while trying to remain hidden. But assessing your situation is hard from under a tarp where you can't even see the driver of the vehicle you're trapped in. Suddenly, the van stopped, and Ty was a blink of an eyelash from just opening the door and running for it.
But no. The light turned green and the van was on the move again. WHAT THE--
This nut floored it, driving like a freaking madman and making the psychic wonder what the hell he got himself into this time. When the tarp was yanked off of him, he knew his jig was up. Great...of course he'd try to rob a van owned by a lion...
He forced himself to a sitting position, trying to find something to hang onto while avoiding eye contact. Yep, poor old Ty was still stuck in his rut of bad luck. He scrambled out of the way as a box fell and almost hit him.
Sara checked over her shoulder quickly, not wanting to take her eyes off of the road for too long. Her lips were pulled back slightly. Just enough to make sure that he saw her larger elegantly slanted feline fangs. Normally she did her best to be dignified and act as normal as possible, but for now a little growl here and there seemed like it might be fun. So she let out a snarl that sounded like a mix between her large feline side, and a frustrated sound of her human side.
The van straightened out on the road and Sara kept her foot firm on the gas. glancing here and there in her nearly useless review mirror to make sure Ty staid in the back until she decided if he was a threat or not. "What the hell are you doing?!" Sara demanded. The police might pull her over for the way she was driving, and that thought did catch her mind, but she didn't really care at the moment... Ok... Maybe she did....
She eased up off of the gas as she came to a stop sign. she slid by the stop sign and made another turn.

Ty knew without a doubt that he was full well screwed. He pressed up against the side of the van, taking deep breaths as she snarled, then spoke.
"As of now I'm re-evaluating my choice of day-jobs..." he muttered, looking at how many times recently his thievery attempts had blown up in his face. Maybe he was just...losing his touch. Without Tses...well since he'd dumped Tses his pickpocketing and thieving skills hadn't been worth jack.
"Look," he said, keeping his voice from shaking as much as it wanted to, "I didn't take anything..." He sighed. Of course he didn't take anything; he didn't have much time to. Besides, this was just an attempt to blow off some steam.
The fact that she had this stow away pressed up against the side of her van with only her presence from the driver's seat brought a smile to her face. At least this one knew when he was... at a disadvantage. smarter than Sara.
"Then why were you in my van?" Sara asked. Her attention turning back to the road and she eased her foot off of the accelerator. However if she wanted to, she could always floor the thing again. "Seems like a waist of good time and good health." Good thing Sara was so well mannered about this compared to some people when it came to breaking into her things.
Sara sighed heavily. "Look. While we're in the van anyways, do you need a ride anywhere?" She'd check later to be sure nothing was missing from the back of her van. She was fairly confident that she'd be able to track him down later if she needed to later to recover any of her belongings.

Ty sighed audibly, lightly hitting his head against the surface he was leaning on. "I didn't take anything, never said I didn't intend to," he admitted quietly. He bit his lip, remembering the days when he could get away with crap like this. Where did he go wrong? Maybe he was just...losing it. Maybe he just wasn't cut out to be a thief anymore. Maybe there was a deeper purpose than that. Wasn't that what he wanted, anyway?
"Yeah...I'll say. No...I don't need a ride anywhere," he said, still down on himself and beating himself up. "I...again, I'm sorry for the trouble..."
Even though the reply about the boy's attempt hadn't been meant really for Sara should couldn't help but smirk. Ok. There were some things that she could take enjoyment out of in some situations. In this case, it was the fact that his reply about what he intended to do was so much like something she would have said. "I can only imagine."
"Well I'm not taking the trouble to stop right now." Sara's tail flicked. At this point she'd started to drive away from the city and the smirk staid on her face for a moment. Smirking was better than her other reaction could be. That other reaction being on of violence. "You're welcomed to stay in the van here, till I drive back into the city... Unless you really want to walk."

Ty silently nodded, but he refrained from snorting. Yeah. You make an honest living... Not taking the tro--Oh crap. She was going to drive out to the middle of nowhere and kill him. He knew it. He just...knew it.
Walk? She meant limp...yee-freaking-ha.
"I'm really in no shape to walk, so...it seems we'll be hanging out awhile," he murmured, intending for her to hear. He relaxed a little, hoping she wasn't planning to kill him. Because...he wouldn't stand a chance in hell.
Sara drove on keeping the van at a steady speed and the bumps in the road came in at a steady droning rhythm under the floor boards that were under their feet. There wasn't a lot of other sounds like that and saying so what's you're name didn't seem like it fit the awkward situation. So Sara decided to one up one awkward question with another.
"So where are you from?" Sara asked in a voice that sounded like normal conversation but at the same time wasn't a far step away from a sing song fashion in witch she could have asked the question. Finding out who someone was, was much more interesting than finding out a name. It gave you more information too.

Ty blinked at the rather awkward question. But...hey it could have been worse.
"Well...I've lived in New York for seven years now, or close to it. But, yeah I didn't grow up here," he started, relaxing a bit. "Born in Georgia, had a rough life and long story short my aunt took me in and moved me up here. When she was killed, I took to the street. Living there, getting by with stealing. Even after getting a home, and the ability to make money...stealing still...came natural to me. Only lately...well, I guess some events in my life have caused me to lose my touch..." He sighed, finally letting all of his problems in a nutshell off of his chest.
Sara kept a steady hand on the wheel. Knuckles pointed forward at the top of the steering wheel, her other arm still leaning casually out the window. She let the other mutant finish what he had to say, witch was surprisingly more than what she expected to get out of him.
"I'm sorry about your aunt." Her amber eyes flicked to the rear view mirror then back onto the road. Sara had never had anyone who was close to her pass away. She didn't know any family, and those whom had become close enough to be friends simply moved away. Not died. "I know what it's like to be on the street." Sara continued. Deciding not to give her entire life story, but still a little. "For a long time in my life, I was also a thief." Still was now and then. "You got somewhere safe to go?"
Why in the world was she being so nice right now? Not even Sara really knew. There was just something about the situation that kept her from beating the crap out of him, or booting him out of the moving vehicle. She'd been in his shoes once and the other mutant hadn't been nearly so... nice.

"Thanks, it was years ago, but I guess I shouldn't blame my crappy decisions on anyone. After all, I still made 'em...And I'm obviously losing my touch..." He sighed, audibly, shaking his head a little.
"Yeah, I got a place to go. I appreciate you being so nice though." He leaned against some boxes, still sort of relaxing as he pondered his life choices. Maybe his luck turned to crap because of things he did. "Maybe...Maybe I should find something else to do for fun. Kiss all this petty stealing and useless troublemaking goodbye..."
