The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

SHe had little idea what the man did though the thought came to her he might make robots of some kind.Science had never been a great subject for her though she did pick things up from people who came to the bar every now and then. "I am not entirely sure what that is but sounds like you would need to be pretty bright she said figuring what it must took to get the degree needed.
"The mansion or sanctuary can help you with that, they both have area's for that very thing. I have known people who have been to both, Sanctuary is more for the people who want to teach them selfs where as the mansion is more like a school. The mansion supports a more we can all live together in peace motto vs sanctuary mutant supremacy attitude. " she replied.
"I can't say one's better then the other but you don't hear to many positive stories about being a mutant" she said with a shake of her head. She leaned toward the Mutant supremacy side herself but her powers meant she was not much use, besides she would rather take people money. "I Built this place with my parents collage fund set aside for me, they were less then happy, so congratulations of graduating"s she offered. Her parents even two years later had barely said a word to her

"Not normally, but most mutants just lack the power to be to dangerous. Plus i have a policy not to let people who put craters in my floor back in the bar." she said honestly. Sure their were smaller things here and there or some times alcohol loosened people control a little to much but her repair bills had been surprisingly low. The rits had taken their toll a year earlier but even there she had been lucky compared top many places.
"Yea Thursdays always are. The week end the place gets pretty busy though. What kind of work are you looking for?" she asked curiously wondering what brought him to NYC to look. Sure their was always work but the place was expensive.
"If you are a mutant i would advise against being to open with your powers. Some people like our kind, other's don't and sometimes they see killing as an option. If your a human i would avoid the area around Sanctuary. It's a mutant only shelter that houses mutants despite reputation, so while it is safe enough for mutants, humans avoid it. DOn't let that scare ya though" she said with a smile..
"Also while i don't care if your human or mutant, many who come here will, so if you are human just claim to have a stupid power you can't show" she said her words a bit less honest. Sure Melissa would never refuse human coin but she really did prefer mutants to humans.

It was not the most common drink people ordered in the bar but she had some requests for it and so while it took her a few moments to find the bottle she did find it. She was lucky the fight had not hit the liqueur, she had no idea if what the woman spit had been flammable but if it had, the bar would have been a powder keg of fire. Setting the drink down in front of her latest customer she looked the man over. He was good looking, she admitted to herself but she was married to the bar and making some of it's liqueurs out of water.
"Drunk mutants some times get carried away" she said explaining the damage. SHe was a pro mutant bar and people with amazing powers some times did not use them in the most amazing ways while drunk.
"The Name's Melissa, i don't beleive i have seen you around" she said as way of making conversation. She was good at recalling people and names but a lot of people passed through on a dayly basis. Moving a few locks of brown hair behind her ear, she took a look around the bar, fairly sure her other customer was passed out drunk.

Thursday night's were always slow and this was even worse then normal. In fact her sol patron's were there not for the bar, but to fix a basketball sized craters in the floor as well as half the ladies room door was still missing. Some people did not hold Alcohol well and with the pro-mutant nature of her bar, Drunks somes times got out of hand.
With a sigh she considered the damage and the bill for it. Such incidents had luckily been rare and it helped that the building had been made to take a considerable punch. Maybe her parents had a point about the bad idea of getting a bunch of drunk people wielding powers under one room. Things were bound to get out of hand and her power was useless in actual combat.
Still she enjoyed her job, she liked people and talking to them and hearing about their problems. She liked to help people feel better and saw no reason why she should not make a profit at it. She watched as a TV, was hauled out the door a victim of the previous night as well. SHe had banned the woman who apparently had the ability to fire something green and explosive from her mouth. SHe was in jail anyway though Melissa did not know much more on it.
With a board sigh she took a swipe at the bar with her rag, behind her she could hear her cook snoring away. Normally she would have yelled at him, but their did not seem to be much point. Maybe a band would help she thought to herself looking around the centralized U shaped bar.

" Yea I have only been here a dozen times or so myself over the years." she said not entirely sure when the last time she had been here actually was. She liked the place but did not want to get anyone in trouble, including herself.
She was sure it was weird here with so many mutants around. She could only imagine what might see here if they lived here. She had a feeling it was even stranger then her mutant friendly bar.
" I don't live in the greatest neighborhood" she admitted shaking her head. She lived where it was cheap though she really did need to find a better place one of these days. She looked around again noting they were unusually alone here.
" What can you do? I turn water into wine" she said which was a short way of explaining what she could really do. She did not feel the finer details were likely needed at the moment. She was curious on what her littlie friend could do, she might encountered him in a dozen years or so when he could drink.

"No i don't work here, i just visit sometimes. I need to learn control" she said which was true. SHe wanted to do things like take showers without using salt water. Her power not turning off could be very annoying in many ways though she had made it profitable for herself. One had to make the most of things even if her parents could not see that. Many she met had parents who despised them as mutants, not her, no her parents despised her for being a bar owner.
She considered asking the boy if he lived here but figured he likely did from his age. As far as she knew most students lived on campus. "Been here long?" she asked curiously. SHe knew many mutants had bad circumstances they came from, she heard that every day and looking at the kid she had to wonder how much pain he had endured. Humans and Mutants needed to figure something out eventually.
SHe slid the remote across the coach to Alex not really caring what was one now that she knew it planned to snow forever. The place was huge but built to be warma nd comforting, which to her was a nice touch. "I Live across town" she said which was true though she had moved closer to her bar recently, which was in a slightly worse neighborhood then she had been in.

She blinked as she heard the kid speak. SHe had no idea he was even there untill he had. Great a kid, for the life of her Melissa had never dealt with kids well and with her power and business she tried to associate with only people old enough to drink. Still she was in a place full of them and she knew she just had to deal with it.
"Hey there" she said searching for a topic that was suitable for kid's. "So the weather sucks....." she started and then considerd how painfully obvious that likely was, both from the windows and from the tv which had the news on it. The news also told them it was not going to be ending soon.
"My name is Melissa by the way, and yours?" she asked trying to be polite and realizing she had not mentioned her name yet. She had no idea who the kid was but she did not frequent the mansion much so that was almost no surprise. SHe barely knew some of the staff and the ones she did know had not been around in a while.
She hoped she could at least get something done here this time though she also knew that depended more on her comming more frequently.

Melissa had not been to the Mansion in quite some time. at the very least before the riots occurred. She had come here to try and learn control but things during the riots had gotten really out of hand. Her bar had needed protecting and while she was under equipped for such a task her bad had managed to come out standing. SHe had to restock quite a bit of liquer including her own brands.
SHe looked around the deserted living curiously, it really was a wonderful set up. Still it was late and thus why she expected the living room might not have people around. Sitting down she ran a hand through her hair and looked around then at the tv in front of her which she switched on to the local news.
It was snowing pretty good outside and with the road closures she knew she would not be making it home tonight or to her bar. With a sigh at the weather she munched on a cookie as she watched trv, board out of her mind

Melissa walked the ground's of the mansion in thought and glad her power did not work on snow. The place was beautiful covered in the soft white snow. She did not come to the mansion much but it was a nice feeling to know most of the kid's here would turn out all right. With a soft smile she glanced back at the Mansion itself and not for the first time wished they had one of these places back where she was born.
Shivering slightly despite her sweater and coat, she took one last glance across the yard and then began heading for the door. Their were not many people out, likely, she figured do to the cold this winter had brought. Reaching the door she walked in and looked around.
The place had not changed much in the months she had been a way, though winters touch was evident. She knew some people here, from their visit's to her bar though she believed the place held a younger crowd then she liked. The bright side as well, was the Xavoir mansion seemed a much more pleasant place then what she heard about the other home for mutants in the city.
Taking her coat off at the coat rack near the door, SHe walked into the living room blindly walking through the Mansion. She was hoping to meet people as she was quickly becoming a bar mouse again.

"Well that's good hen, you look much to young anyway. " she said happy he had rejected her offer and happier still these frat idiots had a safe ride home. It was much less for her to worry about. She had to agree with the kid's terminology anyway. The guy he pointed to was doing something she agree would qualify as childish. She had to remind herself they were likely in their early twenty, of course of was she.
She was glad the frat boys had a reliable friend and glad for the money they were spending. "My Name's Melissa, and yours?" she said with a polite smile. It was always good when they were busy but she was rarely actually needed to bar tend anymore. SO she mostly did her favorite thing, interacting with the customers.
"I run this bar, Been here about a year now, really glad i had the place built thick" she said as she watched a mutant crack a cue ball in hald of what she hoped was an accident against the wall. Their was little she could do about such thing's but it did not matter much to her.

Melissa had never cared to much for frat boys. It meant I.D's might be fakes, they were also loud and usually entirely boring. They also had a tendency to try and hit on her and young as she was she was a bit past the drunken idiot stage of her love life, she hoped. Still she always liked the money party's brought, and frat parties were no exception.
Looking around, from behind the large bar, her two bartenders flew from person to person and food she could even smell the kitchen and her furry cook, who swore worse then half the frat boys here, she thought. Their were other patron's as well, more regular customers who the loud music and louder voices had not chased out. Most were two far gone, for real conversation, but then she spotted someone who looked young, she had no idea if he was just young looking or was underage, but she decided to confront the situation. The boy was not drinking yet, that she could see, but if he tried and somehow succeeded, she knew she could get in trouble. The law did not accept oops as a defense.
"Hello there" she said as she sat down next to Locke. Her Black polo shirt and Black pants likely separated her from the random sorority girl's that were also at the bar. "You want a drink?' she offered, though the offer was a ploy. If he accepted, she would ask to see his I.D. then would go from there. If he said he was underage or his i.d checked out she would know she had nothing to worry about.

To say she was caught off guard was an understatement. He was running for mayer and wanted announce the speech at her bar. It made sense, for a mutant candidate to announce it at such a place, but the suddenness was a bit overwhelming. She had top agree it was a non traditional choice as well but she assumed he would be trying to appeal to the mutant vote.
Normally she would have rejected the offer politely. Politics were no good for business, you tended to alienate some people while improving relations to others but the end result was usually a loss. Still, a guy like this might alienate Humans which were never in the bar anyway or if they were they never admitted it.
" Before i can accept or decline that, i would like to hear about your policies. It's not that your idea does not interest me, it does, but i dont want to risk my business not knowing what you plan to do" she said honestly but seriously. "If i agree with what you have to say, you can announce it here" she went on believing no matter what the Bird Mutant would make it sound good, if he was half good politician.
She took the glass and set in the sink, to soak before, filled another glass this one was. This was Heineken it was a fairly big seller. She served it while she took interest in Talon's reply.

She had never heard what Talon was telling her before, but it made sense. Though she was embarrassed to say she had not realized Budweiser was a foreign brand at all. "I had no idea about that, but i would guess theirs something different they do to it here. Law's differ a lot by state as well." she said having no idea what the difference might have been.
"And that would be?" she asked curiously. It was already turning out to be a wonderful day and she wanted to believe this next matter would be more good news.
SHe took a look around the bar again, it was still mostly dead. A drunk found his way to his feet and stumbled toward the exit, but nothing to be worried about. The place was standing much to her surprise. When she had come to new york, she had half thought her parents were right and the place would wind up in rubble.
Turning her attention back to Talon she smiled and waited to here about this other matter, which she could not begin to guess at.

She leaned in closer as well. Most people here were to drunk to recall their names. "Well what im looking for is to have labels made for some of my bottles. As our....friend may have mentioned i can make booze simply bu touching water, however it is unlikely the FDA would approve...." she said knowing in fact they likely would not. Humans feared many thing's consuming the results of a mutant's power seemed largely amoung the kind of thing that would scare them.
"The idea is to make them look like other bottles, so they wont draw to much attention, yet the labels must be diffrent enough for people to be able top select it from behind me" she said gesturing to the booze shelfs behind her, which held a good number of bottles on them.
SHe had a feeling this might work out better then she thought, but she kept her hopes down and looked around checking if anyone needed anything. It appeared they did not, though she caught site of a small glass creaturte ina nearby patron's hand. She considerd the abillity a moment, then decided to maybe talk to him later.
