The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Nice to Meet you as well" She said. He seemed a sweet talker so far, but some people changed the moment liqueur filled their systems. SHe was use to it, you had to be in this job. She took his reaction to football as Bacchus was not interested in the sport. He was kind with his word's which was nice as well. His request was something she could fulfill and considered just for a moment on how to do that. "Oh i can make your day a whole lot brighter" she Said with a bit of a giggle.
To fill his order, she prepared a pitcher of the beer he had been drinking, the shot however came from a bottle, with a violet band around the top. The 120 Proof bottle had been hard to make, she always made some sort of booze but getting the proof within a percent or two was much harder. She Poured two shot glasses. and with skilled Hands served him the Pitcher and the shot. "Im not sure what flavor you like, but try this" She said.
Grabbing her shot she smiled and waited for him. "This is 120 Proof" She said. He had been unclear what he wanted. People who wanted strength often did not care about flavor but each person was different. "You drink this with me and wnat somthing stronger, it's on me" She said, with confidence he might be able to do it, From the rate he drank the beer, he prolbely drank pretty often.

The man was built like a tank and it was hard not tell, it was muscle. "Oh we will see about that" she said with a laugh. Sure she was confident in her belief, that Jupiter might be able to toss her home to San Diego but she could turn the PH balance of a pool to Beer. It took time, of course and it was a bit harder with better stuff like the brews she sold in her bar. She considered her apartment's land lord questioning the water bill.
"I can beat up Jose" she said with a laugh. Jose was a good cook, but not much in a fight. She was pretty sure Jupiter realized the Raccoon man could not fight his way out of a trash can, if the bottom was removed. She had trouble imagining anyone who could give the Large red man an issue at all.
She was about to say more, when a woman called to her red friend, and raised an eyebrow slightly. She had mistaken him for a Venus. The woman herself reminded Melissa of loose floozy's she had seen back home. Still money was money and both Jupiter and the Floozy seemed to reinforce the idea, a lot of people were coming.
She then blushed softly as Jupiter made her feel like a display piece. She braved this, leaned over the bar and looked at Jupiter. "She Mistaked you for Another?" She asked, as it occurred to her that meant the two looked alike.
"Welcome" She said to her new guests. She would take their drink orders, when they approached the bar. Weather she approved of the woman's fashion choice or life style was irreverent, she would show her the same open ear she gave everyone, because in the end it was the right thing to do, morally and for business.

Their was a purple ribbon tied to the neck of the bottle. She poured it into a pair of shot glasses, then slipped the empty bottle into a cabinet which held a few other empty bottles as well."Might be worth a try anyway, their are Mutant's who might enjoy the freedom" She admitted considering the idea further.
A Custom liqueur she made herself, she called Six. "I got this back west" she said. It was true it had come from the west. Since the process of making her various brews was not necessarily a precise process and so it was hard not to be off a proof or so now and then.
"I have already encountered More Mutants in the time ive been open then i ever did back home" she said, which was very true. She had never been sure if it was the area of if new york city had some magnetic pull. She served the man his hot and smiled, as she took her shot she recalled the famillier flavor. "I really just wanted the bottle empty and not to waste it" she said. If he really wanted she would of course take his money, even if it was not her aim.

Adapted it had been a word she had not known until she moved here. It seemed like a good idea, but she had her worries on it as well. She had little understanding of adapteds beyond what they could do "I don't understand them well though i have heard the term only recently. My worry is that people won't feel comfortable that their powers are being weakened" she said but she had another fear as well. If an Adapted's powers cancelled Mutant powers what might it do to the booze she had made earlier.
On the other hand an Adapted would be nice, she mused to herself, The idea of being able to take a shower in peace was heavenly. However as far as she knew no adapted had ever entered the bar but then she was unsure how she would know. She never made alcohol on the clock in front of anyone, she felt that might just ask for trouble.
She watched as he looked around and then spoke. "That is good to know" she said feeling a little stonewalled by his answer, as his caution had made her think we would give her more . Still they had just met and what he had said already was very interesting. "I'm not much good with kid's myself. I Admire your bravery as well, Teaching Mutant children sound's like it could get rough" she said in a lowered voice, picturing thirty kids in a room with powers litterly bringing the place down.
Gathering herself she smiled. "I'm not entirely sure my job's safer then yours" She joked with a gentile laugh. She moved to the rows of liqueur bottles behind the bar, and lifting one up she saw it was nearly empty. "You like vanilla Rum? On the house?" she said as poked the bottle with her nail, knowing their was only about two shot's left.

She looked a bit worried by his comments about a brawl. "Well the walls are thick anyway, still i'm no fighter" She said honestly. "I have a bouncer later at night as well" she said. Jupiter had done so a few nights, whenever he wanted free booze really. The other guy she met might work out as well she thought to herself. Still the trouble was, you never knew what kind of powers a person had.
"A Teacher and an artist?" She repeated intrigue seeping into her voice. What was more surprising to her was that he taught exclusively Mutants, that had to be a rare teaching job. "Where is it you work? Do you teach Art" She asked clearly interested. It made sense he would teach art but in reality he might teach history. ABsebtly she twiled some stray hair around her fingers.
Then something processed in Melissa's mind. Sure she figured people would use fake ID's they always did. The issue was weather the kid in question could be stopped from simply stealing the liquer they wanted. "Never thought about Mutant kid's trying to buy before" She admitted clearly considering the idea. "Guess i'll have to hope you can teach them the dangers of drinking underage" She said with a soft playful smile.
"It has to start somewhere, The more people see and hear of such places the more normal it will become" she said hoping that would be the case anyway. She said hoping Humans and Mutants would live in peace with each other. Either way their was littile she could do about it.

Business was going pretty well, she had even turned a profit a couple days. Word had spread quickly through the twin red Giants, Jupiter and Venus. Things had calmed down after the first few day's as she had figured it would. However business had stayed such that she was nether losing or making money. She took some pride in that most businesses took far longer to reach that point. Still as she advised a bar drunk he was cut off and needed to call a cab.
SHe would be happy when the place developed a regular crowd. Until then she just had to stay positive she told herself. She called back into the kitchen. "Jose, i need a fresh Keg of Molson for the tap" she called back, and Jose of course complained the entire way into the basement storage area. She smiled, Jose annoyed her to know end some times, but he had believed in her enough to move across the country.
She refilled a shot glass, biting her lip as she did, worried it might be one to many. Typical mid day crowd of drunk's who had long ago lost much interest in much other then the wound the booze never quite closed. It was sad to see but it was money and if not her then someone else would make it.
She noticed Bachuss for the simple fact that the man was huge. Even with many of her customer's mutations they were not that tall. Her eyes looked him over as he sat down and ordered, she quickly filled his order. "My name is Melissa, and you are?" she said in greeting with a smile. SHe enjoyed this part of bar tending more then the rest, getting to know her patrons.
Looking to the other side of the bar two drunk's were having a heated discussion over football draft choices. Melissa liked football enough, but the individual players tended to run together in her head. They seemed civil enough so she ignored them for the moment.

SHe smiled when he asked about it being her place. "Well my parents did tell me, the place will fall down around me the first night" she said keeping her smile. Her parents had been proven quite wrong so far. Her parents had not been her strongest supporter, of course she understood their reasons well enough.
"Well, being a mutant myself, i see the trouble our people go through. I want to provide a place of relief for them. I can't let a few bad drunk's get in the way of that. That's why i put the bar in one of the the more densely packed mutant area's i could find" she said openly. She had never really faced the issues other had. It may have been a pain to get around her power sometimes but she was not stuck being obvious. At worst she smelled like the bar she worked in.
"How about yourself? What kind of work do you do?" she asked trying to turn the conversation more toward's him. She liked hearing about her customer's, as each one had their own story's, likes and dislikes. Everyone came to a bar to forget some people to forget and some to drown sorrow and others out of simple enjoyment. Their were some that worried her, but she had a feeling this man would not be one of them.

"It's good to meet you as well, We opened last week, Me and Jose, came from San Diego" she replied. She had liked the city but had come because NYC was both away from her parents and because it had a reportedly high number of mutants. In her last week of experience she was pretty sure the reports were true though no one seemed to explain why.
NYC was far different then San Diego and had taken some adjustment. "It took six months for me to have the place built" she said though it may have been less or more. It did not matter she decided. Grabbing a rag she moved to where the man had been sleeping and cleaned the area off. He had come in every day spoke little and drank until she asked him to leave or to call a cab when he got to bad.
"Honestly i expected more trouble, but so far thing's have gone well" she continued. She had expected to incur some damage even if it was not the place being flattened. Aside from a few stolen salt shakers she had done pretty well. She hoped it would last and still feared the first real fight with powers in her bar. She silently preyed for no fire mutants and chastised herself for the semi mean thought.

The tragic events happening in Syria were nothing she could affect. War's were always terrible thing's though and she tried not to pay them to much mind. She heard the soft chime of the door, which broke any interest in the news anyway. It was , much less trouble then she thought she would have with the bar. Whoever Jupiter and Venus were they seemed to have influence. A flicker of pessimism pointed out this might just be early luck, but she crushed that thought early.
"One Moment" she said and taking a few steps bent down, opened a cooler and slipped out a bottle of the Ale and a cup. Slipping a few ice cubes in the cup she shut the cooler, rose and turned to face him. " You want this in a cup or right from the bottle?" She asked. It was slow enough to and with so few people in the bar, she suspected the bottle itself would not become an issue. she would leave what he asked for.
Walking to the other side of the bar, she shook a sleeping drunk lightly, and advised him to call a cab. Making her way back she smiled."My Names's Melissa, what's yours?" she asked trying to strike up up a small conversation with the man. She enjoyed the bond a bartender could get with her customers through that communication. Glancing back she saw the bar drunk she had awoke, make a surprisingly straight walk to the door.
They did not have much of a dinner crowd yet, instead the place got moving again later at night. Not for the first time she mused on having kept the kitchen entirely hidden.

Melissa took a breath, the lunch crowd while not big was certainly growing. Jupiter and Venus had spread the word quite well. The past few days, she had a steady crowd and more then one conversation had mentioned the great red brothers. Snapping for her momentary daze she finished cashing out a customer and waved them good bye. The Nearly empty bat left her with a guy she was considering cutting off, and Jose The Raccoon Mutant cook whose conversational skills sometimes left a bit to be desired.
Clearing the bar she put glasses away , as well as various half eaten plates people had left on the bar. Placing them in a sink she wiped the bar down. It was not really dirty it was just a habit she picked up over the years. Hearing a beep go off from the register she shouted into the kitchen "Hey, Jose it's your break time" she called and was greeted with a muffled reply and the closing of the back kitchen door. Glancing over at the bar drunk, she felt a bit of guilt for the older man. Still soon she was going to have to cut him off or make him call a cab.
The mid-day lull was one that was almost a break in itself, few people showed up and the one's that did tended for a quick drink. In the Lull she filled one of the sink's until it full of water. Slipping the dishes into it, she quickly began scrubbing some of the cup's. Things would be easier when she was fully staffed, but for now thing's were running well enough. Smelling the glass she frowned, realizing she had not put on gloves or added enough dilution to the water, she had basically cleaned the dishes in beer. Shaking her head, she added a hand satiatizer to her hand, to try and play down the Oder some. She recalled the interview she had later in the day and was hopeful the guy would work out. Grabbing a remote she turned one of the Tv's onto the news, while she waited for the abr to fill up again.

The trouble would be she would have to actually touch the water to cause any kind of change. I am also unsure how cool the Mod's are on underage drinking accidental or not, so you may wish to check with them first. Xilx is also caution about letting minors drink anyway. But he could prolbely get into a lot of trouble that way

Melissa glanced down at the great red hand offered to her. She took it anyway noting the red flesh nearly eclipsed her suddenly very delicate seeming hand. She had to giggle when he told her she was beating the local bars. "I have other's as well" she said a bit mysteriously. Though once someone knew to look for the ribbon, they would know how to find each of her custom liqueurs.
She took the card and realized that it was true Jupiter really was his name. She set the tab up, she figured she would get a lot of code names, which was going to be an issue. His offer to be her doorman surprised her as well though with his size, she figured he would likely do well at the job. She could pay him in Seven. "I can do that deal, my friend" she said. If this guy was telling the truth she could make considerable money tonight.
Slipping out her cellphone, she quickly found the girl's number and a quick call later she had convinced the girl to come in. Looking back to her new friend she smiled. "As long as you keep the place standing i'll be happy" she said honestly and as a joke. "Jose back there can convince people he has rabies if you need help" she offered with a small laugh. They had tried exactly that once, the FDA had been less then amused.

"You are, My first customer. We just got done setting up a few hours ago actually. She said honestly. "I Call this my Number 7" she said as she took a drink of hers. She tried not to drink to much on the job, however her power had as a side effect given her a healthy tolerance despite her size. It was an opening and she was not expecting many customers really.
She could not help but smile, whoever the guy was, he was her first customer and called the place is favorite bar. Pride surged through her and the idea it could because she handed the guy a free drink that had it not been made by her hand, might have ran six of seven dollars. That brief warning was further batted down when the man took his phone in hand, He was apparently sending the word out that the bar was open.
"Thank you, I have a girl i interviewed earlier, but, i still need a doorman. Drunken people sometimes do foolish thing's, and when you factor in the powers some of us have....well theirs a reasons i had the walls built thick. she said quickly thinking back to the interview with the woman earlier.
Turning and thinking she understood where the giant red man was going with this she called back to Jose. "Hey Jose, sound's like were going to get busy soon" she said, and in response got muffled calls back, that she never could make out but the sound of the fryers turning one confirmed he heard her. Jose's eye sight was lousy but his hearing and smell were decent and he somehow used them to cook.
"Thank you again! We are from San Diego so i don't have any connections here. " she said. The Slightly ill tempered cook she had with her had come with from her last job. His temperament was horrible, but he worked wonders in a kitchen. If this day turned out half as good as the young raven haired woman hoped, the red man might never need to pay for a drink again.
