The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was at last open, the Shadow's Light bar, neon sign lit the window as well as various other bar signs. She smiled the, Bar top was polished well enough she could have done her hair in he reflection. Looking around, her eyes looked over the four brand new pool tables, as well as an ATM machine and a dart board. On the other side were Booths down one wall and some tables, but the Large U shaped bar that divided the bar almost in two, dominated the view. Behind her Dozens of Bottles of liquor were neatly placed in a central Island that contained the Registers. Several Fifteen inch Tv's were scattered around the bar based around the overhang, that also brought lighting to the bar. The one poor thing about the place had been it's location next to a large abandoned building. Well the building itself looked fine, it Cast the place in Shadow. She had Used Lighting to brighten the place up. To Melissa the bar, Her bar, was a thing of beauty.
Her parents had not been receptive of the idea, their daughter had drained the fund put aside for her for collage had been redirected to building a bar in of the more expensive places one could live. Well the Bar was open she was the only person there other then the cook. Funding had not aloud for much advertising, so she was not expecting to much business today. "I hope this was a good idea" she muttered to herself, as she unpacked shot glasses complete with bar logo on them, coasters as well. She looked back at her cook, he was a very obvious Mutant, he looked half way between a raccoon and a human.
Leaning back against the inside of bar, she glanced out the front window. She had gotten a place near an area where mutants tended to be in more abundance. SHe had seen few Bars themed for mutant and was hoping to start one, both to hear the stories of her patrons and because to her it seemed profitable. Her Mother and Father had told her it was suicide. The Reinforced wall's had not reassured them at all. "I'll need a bouncer" she said tilting her head. She was an optimist but she also knew drunk people often did stupid thing's and the fact that some might be able to level the building, was a parental warning that echoed in her mind. She also knew she wa snot the strongest five foot tall girl around either.
She smiled, despite what her power might imply about her, she drank little, on purpose. Her parents had been preening her to be a doctor, she understood what her power would let her do to her own insides. Still she grabbed a Bottle labeled gray goose and poured two shots, handing one back to the cook, and toasted him. She then drank the shot quickly with a smile. "It's a great day, MY bar is open" she said, taking pride in the fact she was at least open.
Jupiter walked into the sleek little place, Grand opening and not a soul in sight. It wouldn’t do. He liked to drink, and from here he could walk home. This might be his new favorite bar. That said a glance in the kitchen as he was walking in said either they had some serious pest control issues, or they hired mutants a good stance being this close to home.
“Hello, there miss, set me up with the best drink the bars got.” Jupiter wanted to see what the tender would sling at him. on a whim. If she did well he would start calling his drinking buddies, the other people that didn’t get on his nervers while he made his peaceful bar rounds, he didn’t drink at bars he liked the same way he drank at bars he didn’t
Besides she was easy on the eyes. “ So, The Shadow’s light? This place the light in the darkness, or is there something subtle that I’m just not catching on to?” He was big, red and devilish he was dressed well tonight, pinstripe slacks, white button up, suspenders and a bowler hat. He set his hat to the side on the counter top. His eyes never left her to see what she might poor in. He was pretty sure there wasn’t much a bar would have that he wouldn’t drink. But it wasn’t about what she made as how she made it, was this one of those bars that skimped, or gave you your money’s worth, he’d have to see.

Melissa was unable to suppress a slightly shocked look, as a huge red pile of muscle walked through the door. The man looked strong enough to lift the bat and throw it to her Parents house so they could tell her, they told her so. Keeping herself mostly professional she walked over to red Man as he sat down. The man asked for their best and Melissa turned and considered for a moment, her fingers brushed over a bottle of gray goose, but with a moments hesitation before setting it down again, Instead she withdrew something else, the bottle was labeled Gray goose as well, but this had a purple band wrapped tight around the neck and a Number 7.
"It's not goose, it's stronger" she said with a bright smile, getting out a clean glass and setting it in front of her first Customer. The Number seven had always been a hit back home, despite it's lack of FDA regulations. She made the stuff personally, it was a harder to make, as her powers were not always exact. The 90 proof Alcohol she was giving the man, had a taste of cherry in it. She then cracked open a can of red bull, and added a small amount to each glass, a pair of ice cubes and the rest was filled with strong smelling liquor. "This one's on the house by the way, My Names Melissa and yours?" she added, a happy customer tended to return.
"Well it was suppose to be poetic, because, mutant feel they have to hide themselves. It's why i chose this place, for reason's people seem..... reluctant to discuss, data shows their's a large number of Mutant's in the area, i want to give them a place where they can be themselves, outside of their home. she said honestly. Making money while she was at it was part of it as well, but she felt that part likely did not need to be said.
Jupiter raised an eyebrow , she had custom liquor in stock…? Jack pot! He watched her mix it with Redbull. Jupiter sipped the drink letting it roll in his mouth he could taste the content hit him harder than any goose had a right to. He then tipped the drink back down the hatch, it was good. “Am I your first costumer?” Jupiter asked with amusement. Feeling much friendlier than he would typically. A free drink of this caliber, yeah, he found his new bar of choice.
Jupiter nodded. “ I dig it, I was just curious…” A smile then burst on to his face. “Who wouldn’t tell you about the neighborhood? The Real estate agent? Neighbors? The neighborhood is a bit notorious, for having mutants that are proud of who they are, and not willing to scuttle along just in the shadows. I’m from around here; I’ll see people know better than to mess with my new favorite bar though so don’t worry too much.” the only ones that wouldn’t go over well was the Russians, but they’d asking for an end if they started anything.
He glanced around. “but to do that …we will have to get word out that its hear in the first place." He pulled out his phone and text-ed Venus and Lisa, Lisa would tell the sanctuary. Venus would tell all sorts of people. He liked to be at the beginning of things. The one who discovered it first; within a week he would be expecting Jupiter to thank him for introducing him to the place.
“A pair of texts came back promptly.” One professional.
-I have sent out a message as requested. Letting everone know of the knew…hang out.-lisa-
The other more boisterous.
_Heck yes. Its on my facebook, twitter, google circles and texted. The party will come to you. V.._
Jupiter looked up with a bit of surprise. ‘”Do you have any more staff you could call in?”

"You are, My first customer. We just got done setting up a few hours ago actually. She said honestly. "I Call this my Number 7" she said as she took a drink of hers. She tried not to drink to much on the job, however her power had as a side effect given her a healthy tolerance despite her size. It was an opening and she was not expecting many customers really.
She could not help but smile, whoever the guy was, he was her first customer and called the place is favorite bar. Pride surged through her and the idea it could because she handed the guy a free drink that had it not been made by her hand, might have ran six of seven dollars. That brief warning was further batted down when the man took his phone in hand, He was apparently sending the word out that the bar was open.
"Thank you, I have a girl i interviewed earlier, but, i still need a doorman. Drunken people sometimes do foolish thing's, and when you factor in the powers some of us have....well theirs a reasons i had the walls built thick. she said quickly thinking back to the interview with the woman earlier.
Turning and thinking she understood where the giant red man was going with this she called back to Jose. "Hey Jose, sound's like were going to get busy soon" she said, and in response got muffled calls back, that she never could make out but the sound of the fryers turning one confirmed he heard her. Jose's eye sight was lousy but his hearing and smell were decent and he somehow used them to cook.
"Thank you again! We are from San Diego so i don't have any connections here. " she said. The Slightly ill tempered cook she had with her had come with from her last job. His temperament was horrible, but he worked wonders in a kitchen. If this day turned out half as good as the young raven haired woman hoped, the red man might never need to pay for a drink again.
He grinned and put his hand out to shake. ‘Happy to be number one. I’m Jupiter. And number seven is killer stuff, I don’t know who is supplying you, but you got the locals beat. He glanced at his already empty cup. He reached into his back pocket, and pulled out a visa black card. “I think I’ll need a tab. Oh, Rude. I’m Jupiter.”
“‘you might want to give her a call, My brother has a knack for spreading the word. As for a door man, well…I may have more experience on the other side of that normally but I could do the job. You could pay me in whatever my paycheck would come to in sevens. He nodded at the purple banded bottle. Jupiter grinned. “ You didn’t have connections until today.” He corrected with a smile. He moved his phone to silent as it started to shake repeatedly from responses, he really need to follow one of his brothers who followed Venus and thus his phone wouldn’t go insane anytime he was tagged in a post.

Melissa glanced down at the great red hand offered to her. She took it anyway noting the red flesh nearly eclipsed her suddenly very delicate seeming hand. She had to giggle when he told her she was beating the local bars. "I have other's as well" she said a bit mysteriously. Though once someone knew to look for the ribbon, they would know how to find each of her custom liqueurs.
She took the card and realized that it was true Jupiter really was his name. She set the tab up, she figured she would get a lot of code names, which was going to be an issue. His offer to be her doorman surprised her as well though with his size, she figured he would likely do well at the job. She could pay him in Seven. "I can do that deal, my friend" she said. If this guy was telling the truth she could make considerable money tonight.
Slipping out her cellphone, she quickly found the girl's number and a quick call later she had convinced the girl to come in. Looking back to her new friend she smiled. "As long as you keep the place standing i'll be happy" she said honestly and as a joke. "Jose back there can convince people he has rabies if you need help" she offered with a small laugh. They had tried exactly that once, the FDA had been less then amused.
What could he say, he knew his way around a bottle of liquor, noting the oddity about the bottle he had a good clue how to look for what he wanted to drink. Jupiter’s eyes wandered over the stock, and once tipped off to the band well he couldn’t help but start counting the house specials. Yeah, he liked this place.
He grinned at her but didn’t have the heart to take advantage of her just yet. “Tell you what, you can opt to pay me in cash, if you change your mind after you see how much I can drink. I might just keep you open all on my own. And you can put my check towards my tab.” He shrugged. “ whatever we do, I’ve always thought it’d be fun to bounce.”
Jupiter missed the punchline, seeing bars literally falling apart after a brawl. Well it didn’t take much imagination to see how a bar could come tumbling down. “You can count on me, I’ll handle any trouble makers.” It wasn’t a threat just a confident statement. He would have to handle it professionally too, he didn’t want to cause the little lady any lawsuits. So he’d be mostly gentle.
His eyes wander back to the kitchen once more. “we’ll save Jose as our secret weapon.” He liked being in frays but until he saw the man fight he didn’t want to be responsible for his survival. “oh, I’m good with heavy lifting too, so if you need stock done or anything like that, let me know.”
A few minutes later A trio of women and a male walked in all looking their best, much too stylish for Jupiter’s tastes.. “Venus! Its not like you to show to a party first.” Called a green haired girl, in a tiny skirt…belt? Jupiter wasn’t sure how much fabric had to be there until it could be counted as a skirt, but she was…skirting that line.
Jupiter looked to Melisa and smiled wryly. He then pointed at himself. “I’m Jupiter, and yeah Venus won’t likely be here for at least an hour or two until the place is really packed. But, Ms. Xilx the owner is here.” He presented her as if she were a prize to be awed over on a game show.

The man was built like a tank and it was hard not tell, it was muscle. "Oh we will see about that" she said with a laugh. Sure she was confident in her belief, that Jupiter might be able to toss her home to San Diego but she could turn the PH balance of a pool to Beer. It took time, of course and it was a bit harder with better stuff like the brews she sold in her bar. She considered her apartment's land lord questioning the water bill.
"I can beat up Jose" she said with a laugh. Jose was a good cook, but not much in a fight. She was pretty sure Jupiter realized the Raccoon man could not fight his way out of a trash can, if the bottom was removed. She had trouble imagining anyone who could give the Large red man an issue at all.
She was about to say more, when a woman called to her red friend, and raised an eyebrow slightly. She had mistaken him for a Venus. The woman herself reminded Melissa of loose floozy's she had seen back home. Still money was money and both Jupiter and the Floozy seemed to reinforce the idea, a lot of people were coming.
She then blushed softly as Jupiter made her feel like a display piece. She braved this, leaned over the bar and looked at Jupiter. "She Mistaked you for Another?" She asked, as it occurred to her that meant the two looked alike.
"Welcome" She said to her new guests. She would take their drink orders, when they approached the bar. Weather she approved of the woman's fashion choice or life style was irreverent, she would show her the same open ear she gave everyone, because in the end it was the right thing to do, morally and for business.
“That’s the spirit!” He raised an eyebrow at the women after she confessed the raccoon man didn’t have the fighting spirit. He looked like he could have put up a pretty good scrap to him. “Well, I guess that makes you, our secret secret weapon.”
Jupiter nodded as the Woman questioned how exactly anyone could take him for someone else, his features weren’t exactly common among the census as a whole. “ Yeah, You’ll see how it’s possible later, even more so if more of my brothers show up. Careful around Venus though, He’s a charmer.” His warning was meant as a offering to a new friend, if She took a shinning to his brother it wasn’t really of his concern, but he figured he would give her a heads up first. It was only fair.
The group approached the bar and the night had begun, over the next couple hours the place would be packed with the kind of people Venus loved, In general it was a great crowd, happy, easy going, attractive and stylish and most importantly to Jupiter they spen money quickly. It wasn’t a bad group of people to come to an opening, if they all loved it, the place not be empty ever again. It certainly wouldn’t empty until closing.
“I could serve drinks, so long as no one is starting trouble” He called to Melissa.
