The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kitra felt a small smile come to her lips as she lazily remembered the previous evening. She hadn't been expecting what had happened, but goodness it was fun. She had felt Zelek get up, however she hadn't wanted to stir yet. Kitra was nearly back asleep when Zelek's growling voice caused her to sit up in alarm.
"What! have you done to me?"
Kitra stared for a moment as she realized with a shock that Zelek was bleeding. And he wasn't healing. Without a thought for her nudity, she tore the bedsheet she was holding and wrapped Zelek's arm. Her voice shook, "How could I have done anything?!" Kitra took a few deep breaths before continuing, "The only thing I can control is paper and I certainly wasn't doing that last night!"
At some point she had stood and had let go of Zelek's arm and had made her way to his bathroom. Shuffling noises and things clattering were heard. Shortly she reappeared with a first aid kit in hand. Kitra dropped the first aid kit on the bed and she noted slightly that her hands were shaking. Zelek was bleeding, what did that mean? There was no way it could have been something she did.
Kitra looked at Zelek, her voice was oddly calm, "I have no idea what's going on but I need to get that taken care of." She pointed to his wrapped arm. "Please." Her hand was still shaking so she let it fall to her side. Why did it scare her so? What did it mean that he was bleeding? And hadn't she already asked herself this?
The way he was staring at her made her blush and then some. Zelek did however answer all her inquires, and they sounded honest enough. Even if it was answered in a Zelek like way, and it was answered in a distracted manner. Was she distracting him? The thought and then the realization caused her her lips to give away to a sly smirk.
She allowed Zelek to draw her close and for an answer to her allowing him to overcome her hungover, well, she kissed him. Instead of allowing a full out response, she drew him slowly out of the water with her. Pulling gently in case he didn't want to go to a more comfortable area, she led him back through the main area. Kitra was pleased to note somewhere in the back of her mind that the 'statues' were gone.
Her eyes spotted his bedroom and she made her way towards it. She led Zelek along with kisses and loosing what little clothing she was wearing. Soon they reached the bed. At some point however they had both managed to towel off. As she laid on the bed she wasn't sure if she had pulled Zelek down or if he had pulled her down. However it didn't matter anymore.
Kitra couldn't help but admire Zelek's sleek body as he disrobed and slipped into the pool as well. She listened in silence as he answered her questions. Partially with questions of his own. Kitra was silent as she contemplated his questions. They were good ones to be sure, why was she still attracted to him? Why did she forgive his killing intent? And why in the world did she still feel safe? Even though she knew he could kill her in a hearbeat?
Kitra's voice was thoughtful and reflective when she spoke again. "Oddly enough I feel safe with you. Though I shouldn't, considering your nature." Her smile was meant to take the sting of her words. "While your nature does make me weary, I also still see the Zelek I first met." She shrugged, "Not sure how exactly, but the old you is still there. Perhaps just hiding for the moment."
"Weakness isn't always a bad thing. And sometimes what you might consider weakness, isn't weakness at all." Kitra leaned forward, giving an excellent display of her upper torso as she floated with her legs floating up behind her. She smirked, "And as to me seeing the old you, well even the first time you saw me after you turned." Her she paused and her smirk changed to a rueful grin, "You may have gone after me due to being blood crazed. But you still recognized me as someone you knew."
She sneezed and then grimaced, "I don't think I've quite recovered from being hungover." To cover her embarassment she ducked under the water and swam around the pool. Her long red hair fanned out making her swimming look weird as she looked only like hair floating across the pool's surface. Kitra stopped when she swam past Zelek and she popped her head up and smiled again at him.
Now she was just a yard or so from him. Still it didn't bother her, why she still couldn't be sure. He was a dangerous being to be sure, but the attraction was there. It wasn't due to him being a deadly creature or him being alluring and downright handsome. Kitra felt closer to him then that, why she wasn't sure she would ever figure it out.
Kitra watched gratefully as Zelek covered his 'statues'. Once he was done she uncrossed her arms and let them fall to her sides. She let herself be lead to the pool area. Kitra couldn't help but grin at his comment as she answered his question by stripping down to her underthings and did a small dive into his private pool.
Kitra resurfaced and eyed Zelek, "To answer your other statement, I did very much believe that you were going to encase me completely." She cleared her throat, "As you did so, of course I also reacted quickly enough so we didn't have to find out." Kitra smiled coyly at Zelek. Her smile turned into one of relief as he made the call to have those things removed from his penthouse.
Her voice came out quiet and reflective, "If you had a way to get your memories back would you?" Perhaps not an easy topic but an interesting one all the same. While she waited for his response another question popped to mind. "Why such interest in me still?"
Kitra rolled her eyes as Zelek changed the curves on the little statue and modified the paper dress. Of course she gave Zelek a sour look for it. He fixed it as their cab arrived, which he rescued from a greedy looking salesmen. They arrived at a rather ritzy looking place and the door man held open the door for them with a small sniff at Kitra. She responded by rolling her eyes and following Zelek inside.
A quick ride later, they reached Zelek's penthouse which he opened with a fingerprint scanner. Kitra expected it to be gloomy and shady. However it was rather bright and had rather, oh my, um , grotesque looking statues. Kitra blinked slowly a few times and stared carefully at these 'statues'. She turned and outright glared at Zelek. "I sincerely hope you have a warehouse or a different place to store those." Her color had gone slightly green as she tried not to think she could have easily been one of those.
"If you hadn't attempted that trick of entombing me the other night then I it wouldn't have even crossed my mind that those were." Kitra stopped and took a deep breath to regain her composure. "Those go out please, or I do. Or at least cover them, or hide them, something!" Kitra's voice had a tinge of hysteria in it though. With her arms crossed and she stood there staring and waiting for his response. Kitra refused to move her eyes from Zelek as she did not want to see the extent of his 'statues'.
Kitra drank the rest of her latte as she listened to Zelek. Once again eyeing his little creation, she tore a piece of paper from her sketchbook and had it mold itself around the little statue. It made itself into a cute little dress, mind you it was cute naked but Kitra didn't feel like having a minature of herself on display. It would have been fine if it hadn't been in the nude.
Her concentration was brought back to Zelek as he finished up be stating he had a penthouse. Kitra in all rights could afford one herself but had never bothered. "You have a penthouse? This is definetely a must see." Kitra poked her half uneaten sandwich as Zelek's fingers gently carassed her neck. Once the cab arrived, they left and off they went towards his penthouse.
Kitra shook her head, "No coffee hasn't gone up that much but shes brought me three refills at least and you two refills." She tapped her sketchbook where a copy of the dress and its accessories were there. "Her family runs a shop, getting those designs up and running also gets me a second income in case I ever need it." Kitra pondered a few moments on what Amanda had said while listening to Zelek respond to what she had said. "Hmm, when she said empty void that means she can't read you."
Her eyes slid to his, "Valiant effort would be lovely and I'm not sure what type of thanks I would like to give yet." Her eyes seemed to dance when she spoke again, "Do you even have a place where you stay?" Her smile shivered as his nails seemed to be a mere brush of air on her neck. It tickled and seemed to wake up a mischievous Kitra.
Kitra listed quietly as Zelek went on about the town and the amazons. It was really nothing new to her. "Maxine doesn't want men there, unless they wish to be our slaves." Kitra grinned even as three metal chalices appeared out of thin air and her mental alarms went nuts. She poured small amounts of wine into two of them and handed one to Zelek.
Kitra looked up at Allison, "We will leave in a minute." Kitra looked back at Zelek and raised her chalice, "To another meeting." She took a small sip and smiled. "Not bad." As Kitra stood she took another small sip. Her expression turned murderous, "You haven't changed you..." Kitra trailed off as the chalice slipped from her hand and her body plummeted towards the ground.
"Hmph, it was more so that I've figured out your 'style' so to speak." Kitra shuddered, "I get Syn was going to do it anyway but ugh. You sir are a masochist." She eyed him as he said he was better then ever and then continued to eye him as he moved to sit next to her. With his arm around her neck she flipped through her list, well lists actually, of people that wanted comissions done.
With a slight air of noncholantness she replied, "I believe there's about a third of my list here that would accept that." Kitra glanced up as Amanda returned with refills for them both.
"Miss Kitra, now don't you be getting too smitten with these empty void here." Amanda continued to hiss out of protectiveness, "He's an empty one and you are still hungover and not thinking right!"
Kitra chuckled, "Thank you Amanda. I will be fine though, I do have a few tricks up my sleeve." With Amanda still eyeing her, Kitra pulled out her wallet and pulled out two twenties and two one hundred dollar bills. After pulling those out Kitra also pulled a design from the back of her sketchpad. It was a low cut dress that went down past the knees, had slits up to the mid thigh on both sides. There was also a sketched shawl and lace gloves on it as well. She handed that and the money to Amanda.
Kitra couldn't help but laugh as Amanada let out a squee. "Make sure to pay for our drinks dear and then once off go get those made at your designer." She watched amused as Amanda danced her way to the register and then disappeared in the back of the coffee shop. "Well, she certainly is an interesting empath." Kitra looked rather amused as she looked at Zelek, which was somewhat difficult her him having his arm drapped on her. "Since I got back in the city, I've discovered quite a few coffee shops that are respectable for both mutants and humans."
Kitra let out a small yawn and leaned into Zelek's shoulder. Her voice come out a tad sultry and a little on the teasing side, "Whether or not you would allow someone to stab you with your allergy." A broad smirk appeared on her face, "I did manage to catch you unaware. Though it was a decent enough fight."
Her voice went quiet as she thought about if she should really do what she wanted to do. Kitra somewhat remembered talking to Abyss as to how dangerous Zelek's type could be. She mentally pushed that aside, "I never did get to thank you for getting me to Sanctuary to get me patched up." Her voice went even lower, "If we do want to have any sort of fun or decent relationship I would like to ask you to not kill anymore." Her sideways glance at Zelek was to keep an eye on his reaction. She really didn't think he would do anything in direct public, however you never know.
Kitra barely noticed Zelek slide into her booth until he spoke. She grimaced and nodded at Amanda who vanished as quick as possible. "First off, I have a nasty headache. Second, Syn doesn't know how to kill you. Third, you prefer torturing and killing them yourself." Kitra set her list down and took a few much needed sips of her latte. "And yes I look like hell as I got roaring drunk last night. Thankfully all I have is a nasty headache."
She looked up at him and glared, "And what was with you letting Syn go nuts with torturing you by the way?" Kitra paused as Amanda brought Zelek's drink and a refill for her, then rushed off with an apologetic look at her. "Also unless I were to stab you and keep said object of your allergy in you then I highly doubt you would die." That last bit was said in a very cool and quite undertone.
Kitra looked him over, he really didn't look any worse for the wear. "How are you feeling? And you don't want to ruin those handsome lips of yours by letting more acid drip out of them." Kitra's voice was grumpy and filled with tired. Her gaze dropped off of Zelek and back down at her list. Ugh, what the heck did people think she was? All these demands and not enough time. She would have to call a few of them to lengenth their deadlines.
Kitra had woken with a killer headache. She had been very careful to sleep out of Abyss's huge bed. She most definetely did not want to step on the big red guy that had been very helpful the previous evening.
Kitra had found a pen and paper and wrote 'Thanks Abyss. See you later. Kitra' After finishing that she had gently placed it on his chest and crept out carefully. She walked carefully to her room, she had to place each foot with care. Every step she took made her headache worse. Was this what people called a migraine? Kitra corrected herself, she had a hangover.
Kitra made it to her room and quickly showered and got new clothes and retrieved her bag which had somehow made it back to her room from the last night. Once dried off, Kitra dressed in light green leggings, with a matching green skirt that went to her knees. It took her a moment to find a nice shirt, it was a cute lavander purple that was lace for her collar and sleeves. She pulled on her boots, grabbed her dark green trenchcoat and her bag. With everything in place, including that nasty headache from last night, she left her room.
Kitra waved at Lisa as she headed out the doors of Sanctuary. That would be something she would have to remember, to get Lisa something for having to deal with her drunk butt last night. Everything was a bit foggy. Kitra did remember Abyss's pantied bathroom walls and chatting away with him. But as to the topic, or topics of their conversation she did not remember. As she had been pondering everything she had managed to make it to one of her favorite coffee shops.
Once inside she sat next to one of the windows in a booth. One of the waitresses brought her over her latte and sandwich bagel. Kitra smiled at her and then winced, drat this hangover! "Hey Amanda, do you have anything to help with a hangover?" Her voice sounded croaky, Kitra hastily cleared her throat as her waitress chuckled.
"I saw you didn't look to well this morning so I added something extra in your latte. Guess I guessed right." Kitra grinned sheepishly as Amanda winked at her and left to go refill coffee for a different booth. Kitra had pretty much refused to look in the mirror before she left. She figured her eyes were bloodshot and she knew she had to have bags under her eyes. Despite the late evening, Kitra had still woken up about seven and had been out by eight.
Her headache still very much hanging around, Kitra made herself open her bag to take a look at the list her clients wanted her to draw for them. Her sigh was audible before she drank some of her latte. That made her smile, it was very nummy and full of caffine. Which she desperatetly needed, considering the size of her wants from her clients.
Kitra smiled tiredly, "It's good to know I have the big reds looking out for me." She snuggled even tighter into a ball and yawned. "Sinatra??" That made Kitra confused but her confusion quickly vanished as Abyss continued. "Well, it's good to know that Calley is okay and has a stomach the size of an ocean."
She chuckled right along with Abyss as he brushed aside the mention of her babbling. Her chuckling was brought up short by another yawn. "Thank you again for coming to get us." Her brain idly told her that was probably the third or fourth time she had said thank you. Couldn't hurt to say it a few times over though right? Very sleepily she added, "It's nice having an older brother around." Kitra blinked a few times as she tried to focus on Abyss, "You don't mind me calling you my big brother do you?" As Kitra waited for Abyss's answer she yawned again and felt herself drifting off towards an inky blackness that was sleep.
Kitra rolled her eyes, of course she would get the flirt. A slap in the face would not do Venus justice at all. And of course she had to keep up the pretense of attempting to fight him. Well she had never really tested how much she could actually pick up with her paper. She grinned devilishly at Venus who had been steadily moving closer.
Kitra cracked her whip and let the paper loose. All of her paper swirled about Venus and settled around his midsection in a giant-paper made hand. It had a little tail that wrapped around Kitra's wrist however. Using the two small sheets of paper underneath her feet she zoomed forward attempting to drag Venus with her.
As she flitted past him she whispered, "Play along would you please." Providing Venus did play along Kitra's aim was to pull him out of direct line of sight to hopefully chat. And probably have to get a few bruises to make things believable to the girls.
Kitra chuckled, "your brothers are complete goofballs." She smiled up at Abyss as he tucked her in. For one so big he was very gentle and careful. Her smile turned into a grimace as he recounted what had happened in the infirmary. Her words came out slowly and with as little emotion as she could make them. "He may like pain but what he allowed Syn to do." Kitra trailed off, she was quite glad she had passed out and had not seen the full horror of what had occurred.
Kitra rolled her eyes, "I know he is completely different then who he was prior to him being killed and then turned." She sighed and paused a few moments before continuing. "Still I can't help but feel attached to him in some ways." Kitra snorted, "It's silly I know. All he can do is cause me pain and grief even if it happens to be lustful."
A few minutes went by without her saying anything. Her mind kept jumping around, thinking on one thing before hoping to the next. She thought about Zelek, then Hunter, finally her thoughts ended up resting on Calley. She still hadn't seen him since she had been back. Finally she spoke up, "Abyss?" Her tone was thoughtful and questioning, "You know Calley right? Hunter hurt him didn't he? And how is he now? Have you seen him recently?"
Holy cripes when her mind went on a one mind track it went babbly question nuts. "Sorry, lots of questions at once." Kitra cleared her throat and scooted carefully to the side of Abyss's bed so she could look down at him while she was laying on her side. She blinked a few times and smiled sheepishly, "Yeah I guess I babble when I get drunk."
