The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kitra let out a low hiss as she felt stone wrap around her legs and then felt herself being pulled. She ignored Zelek as she didn't have anything to say. However once she felt herself leave the stone slab she had been laying on. Well, she didn't panic, but hell it didn't feel good. And then when he cranked it even further. No she didn't scream then, her body had gotten used to pain.
Kitra blinked and noted that Zelek was right next to the wheel, looking more then ready to stretch her further. She laughed grimly, "Guess you like your women taller then you eh Zelek?" She took a few sharp breaths, "I thought you liked your women playful too. Not quiet and obedient." She was wincing, however she refused to scream out. No reason to give this twisted bastard more fun then he was already having.
Kitra gulped as she stared at the nasty looking winch and was grateful she wasn't attached to it. Though she could easily be with a twist of Zelek's fingers, or a mere thought of his. Kitra was pretty sure she had heard Allison swear and mutter something about her shackles getting fused together. However she did note something interesting. Zelek hadn't hurt either one of them yet.
Well whatever, if Kitra was going to die she would do it with as much taunting as possible. "So Zelek, guess you can't handle fighting me one on one." Kitra paused for a moment before continuing in a taunting tone, "Without either of our powers." That winch really did not look pleasant. She swallowed and spoke up again, "Also, I really don't think you want to make me bleed too much. You would be letting it all go to waste if you used that thing. "
Kitra had decided that she was definitely insane. "Allison, don't behave too much. I don't think he will really truly hurt either of us to the point of possibly bleeding us out." Her mouth quirked into a frightening smile. "It would be such a pain to have to go find other victims I'm sure." With that Kitra went silent and kept as much emotion of her face as possible. There, let Zelek mull that one over.
Kitra felt the blood drain from her face as Zelek laid out his ultimatum. Kitra would take Allison's punishments and vice versa. Not a nice situation to be in. For Allison's sake she would behave, unless he showed weakness. And was perhaps stupid enough to leave wood in his abode.
Kitra tried swallowing and had to do so twice as her throat was very dry. "How do you suggest we get along better then Zelek?" Thank goodness her voice didn't tremble, it sounded calm even for her being somewhat terrified as to what he could do to Allison. Stone could get very heavy, and she knew Zelek wouldn't stop unless they played his sick and twisted game.
Kitra shuddered again before attempting a snappy retort. "I think you would prefer me alive to being dead. No precious blood to sustain you." She winced as she heard Allison's voice. She wasn't in any better of a position. Her frustration continued to mount as Zelek kept talking.
She was pissed off, and there wasn't anything she could do. Or could she? Kitra carefully pulled her arm to see how it was chained. Oddly enough there was shackles on her but she wasn't getting resistance. She eyed Zelek as he drifted off into his thoughts. Kitra paused a moment, thinking on how stupid she was going to be.
She lunged for Zelek one hand slashing towards his face, hell he might heal but it would still be painful. Her aim was to cut open his face or possibly his neck with her nails. She had kept them sharp and razor thin simply for another weapon. Well multiple weapons. Her other hand was right behind the first aiming for a second attack.
His uttered words showed true on his face when it showed a moment of tenderness. However if Kitra hadn't been watching closely then she wouldn't have seen it. Malice soon replaced it along with his very wicked whisper. Kitra's gulp was audible as she closed her eyes and shuddered.
To make things even better, Zelek had stood quickly and announced his intent quite loudly so Allison could hear as well. Her eyes flew open as she realized what he would do to Allison and herself if Allison didn't do as he said. Kitra really couldn't care less about herself. She had brought Allison into this mess. She needed to get her out of it.
Her voice came out much calmer then she truly was, "Let Allison go Zelek." Kitra swallowed against her dry throat, "She doesn't deserve to experience the torment you can dish out." Her eyes showed pleading for him to let Allison go. Not that she relished the thought of being food for a sadistic nutcase. But Allison did not deserve that, not whatsoever. Kitra remained silent, waiting for Zelek to respond.
If looks could kill then Zelek would be a pile of smoldering ash. However Kitra did not have that kind of power. She did know she was really feeling Zelek cleaning her wounds. Kitra winced and noted that her coat was gone. She was also rewarded with hearing a yelp as Zelek's voice went silent.
Happy with knowing Allison was alive, or hopefully that was her making that noise, she turned her attention to Zelek. His comment of fair skinned maiden had made her want to laugh. She kept that bitter laugh to herself. Maiden? There was a reason Kitra had joined the Amazons, there was protection in numbers. And women normally did not attempt to take advantage of the unwilling.
Kitra had lost nearly everything when it had happened. And it didn't even take a few weeks before her supposed safe place she had was broken into. She had been beaten senseless and taken advantage of. Maxine had happened on her a few months later and saved her.
Kitra blinked a few times, wow what a time to be remembering things that no longer mattered. Her eyes narrowed as she glared at Zelek. "So I'll ask again, what are we here for?"
Blackness, complete blackness. It was a blessing to be free from the pain Kitra had just been experiencing. How long she was out for she hadn't had a clue. However pain brought her out of the blackness. Kitra gasped and would have sat bolt upright. But she was chained, or more correctly termed, stone shackle bound on her hands and feet.
She attempted to call her paper at will and was not pleased when she got absolutely nothing. Kitra eyed Zelek, who was currently attempting to clean her wounds. Which in turn was what had woken her up. Her voice was level and calm when she spoke, "Pervert." Kitra blinked a few times, which helped to clear her sight up a bit. She sighed, "Mind telling me what the hell you want with us?"
Kitra couldn't see Allison which was not a good thing, hell if she was stuck here she may as well be annoying. "Is Allison still alive?" She definetely did not like being helpless. But thats exactly what she was. No paper and nothing but her wit. Kitra closed her eyes and sighed, why oh why did she have to met him.
Kitra's managed to score true for getting his eyes. It was a shallow cut, but still a hit nonetheless. However her short victory was quickly abated as Zelek grasped at the handle with one hand and went for her throat with his other.
Kitra gasped and dropped her bone blade as her hands went to his hand to try to get it to release. She couldn't breathe! Her voice came out as a gurgle as she tried to tell him to stop. Her mind went blank as did all of her insticts except one. One of her knees went for his groin. Kitra wasn't sure if it even connected as her world went black.
Kitra gasped and felt a wave of nausea hit her as her blade bit into Zelek's arm and came at a halt a good chunk of the way into his arm. Her gulp was audible as her paper blade dropped and fell apart as it fell from her hands. Part of her mind had seen the needle like tendrils that were coming for her. The other part was still attempting to come to agreement on how close she had just nearly taken Zelek's arm off.
She saw his eyes widen and heard his gasp of pain. Kitra had managed to move back slightly however his finger weapons still scored nasty hits. Her scream of anguish rang throughout the dusty air as the stone bit into her flesh. Deep gouges scored her flesh and moving her arm made her want to scream again. All she could do was blink and look down as blood flowed from her wounds.
Kitra staggered back a few steps, her wounds were deep but she could still move. Providing she could think past her pain. She could do that. Kitra gritted her teeth and pulled out her bone dagger that Isabel had made her. Holding it in right hand she moved forward. Her vision was slightly blurred due to tears streaming out of them. It caused her to stumble as she went for Zelek's eyes once again.
That bloody jerk stopped her whip! Kitra didn't have time to think much else, nor was she able to react as Zelek's lithe body slammed into hers. Her back met the ground and she felt all the air leave her body as she was sandwiched between the ground and Zelek. For a few precious moments Kitra could only see stars. Her vision came back right as Zelek's feral grin went straight for her throat. Well, so it had seemed as he turned it into a kiss instead.
All right now Kitra was dazed and utterly confused. What the heck was he up to? Her little paper birds had dropped to the ground due to her being stunned for those few moments. However, they quickly took back to the air and hovered. Kitra then turned her full attention to Zelek. She was pissed, "Get the hell off me you blood sucker." Alright that had sounded better in her head.
Zelek couldn't move fast enough for Kitra. Since he didn't actually have a proper hold on her, she pushed upwards with her arms. As an added bonus she used her paper to give him a second shove off her. Once that was achieved she scooted backwards and stood. There was about a foot between the two of them now. Her eyes narrowed and her paper birds resumed their attacks. Kitra's eyes narrowed even further as none of them did any damage.
A low growl escaped her lips and her whip disassembled and reassamebled into a short sword. One that she was holding so there was no hold's barred on how sharp it could be. And you guessed it, it was as sharp as diamond. She moved forward as she brought the blade slashing upwards, aiming for cut to his midsection. Then a few more across his chest and then one aimed for his neck. All the while she used this particular distraction to use a few of her now not so useless birds towards his eyes. A small chuckle escaped her lips as her birds went for bullseyes on both his eyes.
Kitra groaned and opened her eyes slightly. She was laying on the ground and her blurry vision made out Allison and Zelek. Allison did not look to be in a good position. She blinked a few times which cleared her vision. Allison was now struggling and before Kitra could do anything she toppled over. Zelek stopped her from crashing to the ground thank goodness. It was her fault that Allison was here.
She noted that Zelek had lowered Allison completely to the ground. Kitra closed her eyes to the point where they looked closed. However she could just make out in front of her. She listened and was soon rewarded with footsteps closing in on her. Once they sounded close she sent her paper flying in the direction she heard him. Kitra pushed herself to her feet and nearly fell backwards as a wave of dizziness passed through her.
She definetely wasn't ready to be standing but she wasn't going down without a proper fight. Kitra then used her whip, except this time she had the end of it as tough as diamond and as sharp as honed Japanese steel. Her aim was for his heart. All the meanwhile she kept having her little paper birds fly around him in a dizzing spiral. Until she dropped, her creations would slash and swerve and continue to slash at any part of him. Another wave of dizziness swept through her right as she cracked her whip to land that killing blow straight at his black heart.
Kitra didn't move as Zelek smacked the blade out of her hand. Her eyes met his as they showed her innocence in not doing this to him. Zelek seemed very much alive, he was still pale but there was life there which wasn't there the prior day. Kitra nodded mutely as Zelek stated he was going to see his doctor.
She watched wordlessly as Zelek disappeared into the walk in closet. Kitra couldn't resist a small smirk as his cute butt walked in. However her expression was blank when he came out fully clothed. As he exited she spoke softly, "I would not hurt you purposefully." With that Zelek shut the door. She heard him tell someone to add her fingerprints to the scanner. After that she heard nothing.
For awhile Kitra just sat there stunned. Her mind was reeling with shock at what had happened. It appeared that Zelek was now.... Here her mind paused as it tried to process yet again. Zelek was mortal. At least that's what seemed to be going on. Finally Kitra stood and retrieved her clothes from the pool room and headed to the bathroom. Kitra took a lengthy shower and once done dressed and wrote a quick note to Zelek just in case he got back before she did.
Zelek,
I plan on being back here in the evening. I need to go to my apartment and get some things as well as do some shopping since your apartment isn't equipped for female needs.
With that Kitra went to put love Kitra however she erased the l she had started writing and just wrote Kitra. And with that done, Kitra grabbed her bag and left as well. As the door clicked shut behind her she checked to see if the scanner registered her fingerprint. Which it did thank goodness. For the rest of the day Kitra shopped and got the necessary things she needed from her apartment.
And it isn't done yet! Isabel and Zephyr never cease to amaze when they get going in their threads together! This is by far one of my favorites and it has me on the edge of my seat waiting for more!
I have plenty of others i wish to nominate however! I must insist I give everyone a fair fighting chance!
Just couln't resist nominating Zephyr and Isabel at the same time as they both have epic talent for keeping everyone enthralled and somehow still breathing
Kitra finished wrapping Zelek's arm with trembling hands. To be fair she wasn't afraid for herself, though common sense would say she should be. She was afraid for Zelek. "I have no idea how this happened." Her breath was somewhat ragged as her mind kept racing as it tried to figure out what was wrong. "Is it possible because you haven't had blood in awhile?"
As the words left her mouth she had looked directly as Zelek. The widening of her eyes was all she allowed herself to do as she noted the murderous look in his eyes. To hide her growing alarm she fumbled with the first aid kit as she more closely inspected its contents. Her search brought about a surgical kit, complete with a very sharp blade, needle and thread, and a syringe. Kitra decided she did not want to know what was in the syringe so put it aside.
Her attention however, was on the surgical blade Zelek had inside the first aid kit. She knew he would probably prefer to bit her if he needed blood. Kitra did not, however, wish to be possibly torn apart by his anger and she was sure his anger also fueled his bloodlust.
Taking the surgical blade in her right hand, it hovered over her left arm for a few seconds. Her mind however was whining at her not to do this, it wouldn't be a good idea. What if he attacked her?! Kitra made a small noise as her mind raced. Was she being logical? Nope, logic was apparantly not on her list of things to use today. Kitra shook her head and went to make a cut in her arm.
