The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Slippers secured on her feet by Abyss who scooped her up into his arms. Somehow though, on the way to the bed Abyss slipped. On one of her discarded pieces of clothes, oops. And down they went on Abyss's bed in a tangle of arms and legs. "Owe," was about all Kitra could say before shr heard Mercury and Venus's voices and then a soft thud as the door was shut.
Kitra shoved tiredly at Abyss, "You're a bit heavy." She felt partially squeeshed and really tired. Kitra felt more then saw Abyss remove his person due to her yawning. "Don't apologize Abyss, my fault should have paid attention to where I threw my clothes." Kitra yawned again, "thanks for coming to get us. I don't think I thanked you before." Kitra then blinked sleepily at Abyss, "um I probably don't want to know. But, uh, you guys didn't manage to actually kill Zelek did you?"
Yesh what a lovely question for her to ask. And did she really want to know while she was attempting to sober up? Sure, why the heck not. She rubbed her eyes tiredly, "I hate that I'm attracted to him. But he was the first guy to actually see me, and not a freak." She managed a wry smile, "Then again, I suppose it helps that he was one as well." Kitra corrected herself, "Still is, just not aging now. Damn Hunter for his meddling." She yawned again as she eyed Abyss tiredly as her mind continued to prattle on while she wanted it to shut up.
Kitra snorted as she listened to Zelek. He sounded half believable, "If you can build the walls around them then you can certainly tear them down as well." She nodded at his finding the wine cellar, of course he would answer logistically. Well, that is if he was actually all about being logistic now. She had noted Allison standing behind her and was grateful for it, though she didn't show it outwardly.
"Its good to know I'm still a pretty face." Kitra suddenly grinned, "Actually all of us in the bone fortress are quite beautiful and sexy to be honest." Kitra took the bottle of wine and gently riggled its cork from its top. Thankfully it didn't foam or spill over. She sniffed it appraciatively, "It smells wonderful." Then she eyed Zelek thoughtfully, "You forgot glasses."
While she waited for him to fix that little problem her eyes slowly eyed Zelek fully, though her attention wasn't on him. It was more so on the surrounding area, which had them at a huge disadvantage. Minerals everywhere, though she was sure he didn't expect her to have a paper skin. Kitra blinked a few times and eyed Zelek again. "Truly what are you after? Are we to be meals that can walk and talk and entertain you?"
Kitra had blinked when Zelek popped up out of nowhere but that was the only reaction she gave outwardly. Inwardly she was annoyed that she hadn't spotted him but then again, he could manipulate minerals. She eyed him as he came forward, he looked well enough and his face seemed to be full of innocence. Of course that was alarming in itself. No one could change that much for the good in the few but long years after dday as Zelek had put it.
But maybe they could, well she was sure they would find out soon enough. Kitra eyed the stake that Zelek had set down on the blanket he had just spread on the ground, "Why the change in heart Zelek?" Kitra eyed him, eyes full of curiousity, but with none of the zeal and lust she had had in them just a few years back. She had changed, for better or for worse. As Zelek answered she gracefully sat on the blanket, indian style yet again.
"So how did you manage to make wine? Or find it for that matter?" Kitra had tilted her neck up to keep an even eye on Zelek. Granted she was aware sitting on the ground wasn't smart, however she did want to give him a chance. A small one for her to possibly believe he may have actually changed. Or had gotten much worse and darker and just had hidden it better. In a more conversational tone she spoke again, "How are things going in the town?" She trusted Allison would do what she felt proper and wasn't worried on what she may or may not do.
Kitra was close to passing out from laughing so much. She wasn't quite certain how long she had been laughing when she heard Abyss asking if she was alright. Kitra sucked in some much needed air into her lungs let it out and tried again, "I'm in your oh so decorative bathroom." Kitra's mirth was quite evident in her voice as she continued, "And yes I am decent."
She looked down at her still bare toes and struggled to get her slippers on. Kitra loved her fuzzy slippers, but they were proving rather difficult to slip on her feet. Exasperated she let out a string of curse words that were pretty much intellagible, "Stupid slippers." That was the last thing out of her mouth before one tug too hard and she tumbled on to the tiled floor. "Owe."
Once Kitra got to the common room she noted that Allison was there. And quite the colorful site too, she sort of looked like patchwork inking. Which made sense to her as Allison's powers dealt with ink. She shrugged and continued forward, she was pleased to see that ink wouldn't be Allision's only weapons. Isabel had made her bone claws, which looked rather evil and cruel, despite being bone white.
Kitra smiled at Allison,"Nice weaponery, ready to go?" Once she received an answer she strode out of the bone fortress. She was pretty sure the only means of transportation for Allison was Queen Maxine's paper dogs. Kitra could have flown there using just two pieces of paper under her feet. However she didn't think that was an option for Allision. Kitra pulled several pieces of paper out of her bag. Once free of her bag she dropped them, however they never touched the ground. Instead they formed into a large white carpet of paper. Large enough to seat two.
Kitra lightly grabbed onto it and pulled it down so it was about chair height. Concentrating, she changed the density of the paper to match wood, once that was done she sat down upon it. She grinned up at Allison, "Its quite safe I can assure you." Once Allision had sat indian style on her flying paper carpet, or perhaps showed Kitra a means of her own transportion, they were off.
Not too long of awhile after they came upon the meeting place. It was Times Square, well the crumbling ruins and a mere echo of what it used to be. Kitra looked around carefully and noted nothing out of the ordinary. She hrmphed audibly and lowered her paper carpet a little below chair height and motioned Allison off. Once she was off, Kitra hopped off and the paper dissambled itself and flew back into her bag. "Well Zelek. Show yourself!" Perhaps Kitra said that a bit tartly, however she was pretty sure that this note of his was a way to lure her out and well. Kitra shuddered inwardly while her eyes scanned the area around them, waiting to catch movement.
It seems like it has been ages, I write to confess I have finally seen the error of my ways and realized I am the fool you've always known me to be. I miss the way you hair bounces when you laugh. I miss the way you look into my eyes and see so much more potential than I do, or ever did. I'm writing to let you know that I have changed. Dday put my life into focus for me, as you know I help protect the town, I protect people. its odd to think that it took something of this magnitude to make it possible and while I know you must be skeptical, I have to see you again. I long to make up for time lost and wasted. please meet me at old time square, if you brought someone along to ensure that I am not up to any of my old tricks, I would understand wholeheartedly. if you can give me one last chance, you will never have to give me another.
sincerely, -Zelek-
All Kitra could do was blink a few seconds before looking up at Allison. "Thanks for bringing me this." She then looked down at the note again. Unless Zelek had gotten his memories back, which she was sure one of the Abyssi would have told her in their fight just a few days ago. There was no way the current Zelek would send something this sappy. Well, if it was before the uh, end of the moderanized world, then she would have believed it full heartedly.
But Kitra was definetely suspicious. Of course he would state that she would be skeptical, who the heck wouldn't? Kitra shook her head and sighed, too much was wrong with this note. But the little meetings they had during these past few years, even if it was just fighting, made her miss him.
She looked up and smiled ruefully at Allison, "Sorry I didn't realize you were still here." On a whim Kitra handed Allison the note and waited while Allison read it before speaking again. "Would you perhaps like to go with me?" Kitra cleared her throat hastily, "However it more then likely is a trap." She frowned before speaking again, "Sometimes I wish I could completely stamp out old feelings."
Kitra smiled at Allison, "I will be leaving in an hour. If you wish to come with meet me in the common room." With that Kitra turned and strode to her room. Once inside she shut her door and started loading up her weapons. A few small daggers hidden in a well padded bra, which had little straps sewed on to hold said daggers. Her metal bo strapped to one inner thigh and her wooden dagger, which she had carved herself about a year back when they had found an old tree, strapped to the other thigh.
Kitra rummaged around in her small chest of clothes before letting out a small, "Haha!" As she pulled out a dark green skirt that went a few inches below her knees. Next she used her powers to gather all her paper she had available in her room to her. She had it wrap around her legs, hidden beneath her skirt of course. Her arms and torso where next, after they were covered with paper, the paper was hidden under a lavender shirt, which was then covered by her faded, but still dark green, trench coat.
Kitra then tucked her two bone daggers, that Isabel had kindly made for her, in wrist sheaths that were hidden under her coat. Kitra felt ready, still confused about the note and all but she was still ready to face Zelek and figure out what the heck he wanted. With that Kitra headed to Maxine's room only to find her gone. A small frown appeared on her face before vanishing. Kitra then wrote a note to Maxine stating that she and possibly Allison headed out to old time square. Once that was done she went to the common room.
Kitra was handed a few slices of bread as well as a water bottle. "Thanks." While Kitra nibbled on the bread Abyss had gone on to say that Rhythm was with Syn. She had inclined her head slightly at that but had flinched when the room went spinny and rerighted her head to a full upright position.
Yeah, Intoxicants tend to free you of inhibitions, they take away that little part in most people that cares what they say and how they say it, don’t worry though, I am quite entertained. If you’d like to take a shower I can go to the cafeteria for a bit and let you have some privacy.”
Kitra blinked a few times, "A shower does sound nice." Kitra opened her mouth to say more but was interuppted by a quiet knocking at the door. Before either of them could answer it or say anything the door opened and Lisa strode in with some clothes for her.
"I thought you could use proper attire. That does not smell like alcohol."
With that Lisa deposited her clothes on Abyss's bed and strode out. Kitra couldn't help but giggle once Lisa had left. "I guess she can be nice when she wants to be huh?" By then Kitra had finished the few slices of bread and actually felt a little bit better. "Hey Abyss, I think I will try the shower." She had eye spyed how far away the bathroom was, and it looked easy enough to get to.
Once Abyss left for the cafeteria Kitra managed to slither off the bed. She managed to make it to Abyss's bathroom by using the wall as leverage. She was quite thankful that the door was open. And color her impressed his bathroom was really clean and really well organize.... Wait. Kitra had spotted betty boop. On female underwear. It was quite an impressive, er, feat to have underwear of all types of lace and sizes that were pinned up on the walls. It wasn't on all the walls, just the one that you faced if you were staring at the toilet, or the one if you were sitting on the toilet.
She saw Betty Boop, Tinkerbell, devils, angels, devil angel halflings. Kitra shook her head slowly not quite believing what she was seeing. Ok maybe she was hallucinating. That just had to be it. She managed to get herself into the shower after depositing her clothes on the sink. After about ten minutes of the hot water running over her she felt half way alive again. Mind you just about half way and one hell of a headache.
Kitra carefully climbed out of the tub and toweled herself dry with an overly large towel. After pulling and manuvering herself into her clean clothes she had sat down on the toilet, after closing the lid mind you. Her intention was to get her purple slippers on that Lisa had brought along with her clothes. Kitra didn't even manage to get one slipper on before she caught sight of the wall in front of her.
For a minute all she could do was stare in wonder. Once again, female undergarments were pinned to the wall. A few of the bras said things like, 'Bite me', 'Grab here', 'Bouncy bouncy'. Then Kitra looked over to see underwear that had just as naughty things written on them. 'Entrance here', 'Sexy', 'hold me'.
Kitra couldn't help it, she just started giggling and couldn't stop. She had to be seeing things. It was too much, her head was spinning with how hard she was laughing but she just couldn't stop.
Kitra watched the exchanges between both sides without batting an eyelid. Nor did it surprise her when one of the Abyssi appeared behind Kaitlyn and disappeared with her into a void. Jorge's little water trick carried Muse off. Kitra had sighed then. As she went to speak, that idea was thrown out the window as Abyss and five of his brothers roared with bestial vigor and charged forward. Now that had made her shiver.
Kitra smiled a hard smile and pulled paper from her bag. As she pulled it out it formed her trusty paper whip. She cracked her whip towards the other side of the street. Of course one couldn't really call it a street anymore, more of a rustic road perhaps. Her target was a rusted post of some kind, it looked to have been an old stop sign. Her whip curled around it and would straighten out so it would trip someone or multiple someones when they got close enough. It was flexible like rubber so it wouldn't hurt but it should cause someone to trip. It was about knee height and thick.
Kitra then used some of her spare paper to fold into origami birds that went and pestered Gina. Kitra hoped it would be enough to distract her and that lethal shovel of hers. Kitra's eyes flicked over at Marcus then back at the incoming Abyssi. "Normally I would say sure and let's play nice. But, I don't think you want to play nice at this point." Kitra had kept her tone even.
She wished that they all could play nice, however, Queen Maxine didn't want boys in the fortress unless the amazons could play with them. However Kitra didn't want to fight, well on a death type fight. She wanted to trip the Abyssi and lead them off to an area not seen by the others so she could chat with them. Kitra missed them all terribly and she also knew that tripping them wouldn't hurt them.
Kitra couldn't help squeaking as she was picked up gently by Abyss. She took a slight notice that he had picked her up carefully, carefully enough not to touch anything that shouldn't be touched. She also felt safely cradled in his arms. Kitra giggled, "You are the gentleman indeed Abyss. And its not nice to tease Lisa."
Kitra yawned and covered her mouth with her hands apologetically. "Sorry sorry," she giggled. Yesh, what is wrong with her? She couldn't stop being goofy. As her thoughts jumped around in her head randomly, they had arrived at Abyss's room. Kitra felt herself being deposited gently onto a bed, or was it a chair? She honestly couldn't tell.
What Kitra did know is that she had a pounding headache. Weren't those supposed to come after you had passed out and then woken up. She blinked up at Abyss, "I don't suppose you have any water? Or food?" Her brain didn't want to shut up and her mouth wanted to yatter off her mind's thoughts. "I ate a little while I was drinking with Rhythm. I think that helped, how is she?" She vaguelly recalled Syn taking Rhythm off somewhere and she figured it would be to the infirmary.
Ugh, didn't her mind ever shut up? It was like she was on a roller coaster through her past. "Do drunk people normally have loose tongues? Or perhaps a ride through their heads on a wicked rollercoaster from the past?" Kitra figured she was babbling but didn't care. Abyss was a good guy, er mutant guy and he had always held secrets well. Or that's what she thought anyway. Kitra really did wish her head would shut up.
Kitra sighed into Mercury's ear, "fine, don't have much choice either way." Then Kitra realized Syn was talking to her and payed attention. She couldn't help it, she started to giggle. "No I didn't exactly give him a chance to." Kitra felt the small wound on her neck, it wasn't deep and nor did it bleed anymore which is good.
She looked at Syn again and smiled sheepishly, "No the wounds were caused from me being overzealous with my mutation." Kitra sighed again and spoke tiredly this time, "We did have a glorious fight though." She had paused for a moment before continuing thoughtfully, "I need better control on my powers." Her eyes flickered over to Zelek and then back to Syn. "Of course I didn't leave a scratch on him."
Kitra covered her yawn with her hand and blinked wearily. She was tired, ok scratch that really tired. She was sure it showed too. "He didn't use to be like this." Kitra realized she better explain herself. "I knew him before he was turned by Hunter." Hunter's name dripped off her lips like posion. It's not that she hated Hunter, well not really anyway. She was pissed because he had taken Zelek away from her. Which if she ever saw him again, well she would make him pay.
With those thoughts in her head Kitra had raised her head to speak to Syn. Her head had drooped forward as she had nearly dozed off. aS Kitra opened her mouth to try saying one more thing, not in anyones defense of course. Her head dropped back down on Mercury's shoulder. Kitra had finally passed out. She was also snoring in poor Mercury's ear. At least it was a soft snore, very quiet and more of a rumble then anything.
Well they were off to Sanctuary in a flash. Abyss had come and retrieved her and Rhythm, and it was interesting to note, so did Syn. Once they reached Sanctuary Syn disappeared with Rhythm to the infirmary. Kitra said in a halting voice, "No way am I going back into the Infirmary. They'll tie me to the beds."
A cool voice interrupted her, "If you insist on staying on not going to the Infirmary then at least go to the dining hall and get something for your potential hangover."
Kitra blinked a few times before her eyes rested on Lisa. The woman actually had a tiny curve on her normally thin, straight lips. "Yes, Ma'm." Her voice was sheepish, however when she went to take step towards that direction she fell flat on her face. "Owe," Kitra stated. It would have been better if she had remembered that Abyss had carried her to the car and out of the car and had put her down when they had gotten inside.
Then to make matters worse she started giggling. She couldn't keep the gigglyness out of her voice, "The floor is pretty comfy. I don't think Lisa wants me staying here though." Kitra tried to push herself up and flopped back down. This time she grumbled, "I am stuck, also, no more drinking nine drinks in a row."
Kitra couldn't help but flinch when Zelek was pinned up against the wall by Abyss and one of his brothers. She cringed and resisted the urge to hide behind Mercury when she heard bones crack. Kitra was certainly grateful for the tail that wrapped around her, it helped her keep her balance. Though she was pretty much just leaning against big red standing next to her.
Her mind pondered on how Zelek had reacted when Syn questioned him. He had completely stopped his defense and become even more relaxed. It was weird. Kitra figured it best not to ask. In the next moment she closed her eyes against a massive dizzy spell. She had attempted to use her paper and got a big fat load of nothing. Her powers weren't working. Which meant not helping Zelek.
She sighed and felt Mercury tensing up. Kitra guessed he wanted in on the fun. An unkillable being? That you could torture for hours and not have him die? Yeah, what fun. Kitra tugged lightly on Mercury's tail so he could put her down. It was quite silly of her to think she could attempt to really do anything. One solid blow and she would be out like a light she was sure.
Kitra cleared her throat, "Syn, I completely get torturing an unkillable being is fun and all. However, isn't it wise to perhaps find the real culprit?" She was frowning as she said it. Something just seemed off to her. Of course then again Syn was quite sexy and ravishing looking too. That could easily be the reason for Zelek relaxing and letting himself get pinned to the wall. Which was kind of crumbling now. Ok, yeah Syn was hot and sexy and Zelek was probably hungry and just not thinking right. That had to be it.
Kitra was in a daze. One that involved her watching Rhythm beat the crap out of the other patrons in the bar. Also she hazily noted that none of the bouncers moved in to stop her. Something to remember, if she could that is. Her gasp went unheard when Rhythm got a blow to the face. But she kept going until she sauntered back up to Kitra.
Who then found herself being planted on the bar and being nommed upon then kissed whole heartedly. "Mhmph" she managed to get out before Rhythm removed herself from that luscious kiss. Kitra blinked hazily, and only heard a buzzing as she was removed from the bar. She blinked again only to find herself in Rhythm's arms, bridal style no less.
Kitra felt rather then seen themselves moving out the door and at a hasty pace found themselves away from the bar. Kitra was set down gently and her legs automatically sat indian style in order to keep herself upright. She looked up at Rhythm and felt the alcohol influence be swept under the rug. Rhythm didn't look well, especially with her slidding down the wall. Kitra gulped and dove her hand into her bag to find her cell phone. Who didn't have one of those things nowadays?
She found her cell phone and called the first person in her phone, Abyss. "Hey Abyss, this is Kitra. Um, I think I'm about a block from Cat's Pajamas. I have Rhythm with me. She's hurt. And, uh, well, I'm drunk." There was a pause. "Yeah, Rhythm plus dumb bar patrons." Another pause, "Ok." Kitra hung up the phone and turned her attention to Rhythm.
Kitra frowned, she didn't give two craps if Rhythm knew if she was a mutie or not. She guessed that Rhythm was as well. Most don't have blood red eyes and not have some sort of power to back it, er, right? Kitra shook her head and nabbed a piece of paper from her bag and put it on the nasty cut on Rhythm's face. "Don't move too much," Kitra said softly. The paper on Rhythm's face confirmed and was nice and soft and helped to absorb some of the blood. Kitra kissed Rhythm on her cheek and smiled. Now to wait for Abyss.
