The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kitra noted the slight pink that tinted Dante's cheeks and chuckled slightly. She also noted the wink when he spoke next.
"Oh, I could think of a few places, but I like that idea. So, if you don't have any plans, I can actually get this one drawn up real quick and we can go ahead and get this one done."
Kitra also stood a few moments after Dante did. "I hadn't planned on going anywhere, wouldn't have taken my coat off if I had." She motioned to one of the free tables that looked to be his work space. "Do you mind me setting my things there? I'm guessing that area is yours?" Once Kitra was shown where to put her things and she stashed them in said place, she turned to Dante. "Price isn't an issue by the way," Kitra spoke casually and hoped that it would't offend him. Plus, if she really did like his work and he didn't try to deliberately overcharge her. Then she would happily give him a good tip. And probably end up being a return customer as well.
"You do your own work, eh? Sounds interesting. Maybe one day soon the roles can be reversed."
Kitra noted with amusement that he sounded legit yet casual about that.
"Hmmm...Goldish-green, with an aura of purple sounds like a good mix to me. So, how big were you thinking? And where would you like it?"
Kitra smiled with relief and even more amusement as Dante propped his head in his hands while looking at her but also had the look of someone visualizing art in his mind."I was thinking three inches in length and possibly an inch to and inch and a half width." She stood and deftly undid the buckles/buttons on her trench coat and removed it and her purse. Her shirt was dark green, long sleeves and was a modest cut. Her leggings matched, but her skirt was a dark purple that stopped nearly two inches above her knees. Kitra's boots put her at 5'8, an inch above her normal height.
She sat back down with her trench coat and purse in her lap. "I was thinking on my left inner shin and ankle area." Kitra crossed her legs and looked at Dante with a smirk. "Unless, of course, you have a better idea where to put it." (Kitra's hair is in a long braid, and her shirt actually shows some of the wings tattooed on her back)She blinked a few times and chided herself inwardly, "I seriously need to cool it on being flirtatious. It's going to end up getting me hurt one of these days. Again, that is." Inward scolding done, she again smiled at Dante awaiting his reply at her suggestions.
"Oh, you aren't bothering me; technically my break's over. You're in the right place though. And I just so happen to be a tattoo artist, if you want to come inside"
Kitra smiled brightly, matching the brightness in his tone. Her smile quickly turned to a quirky smirk as she noted he was checking her out as she smoothly walked through the open door.
"My name's Dante. So, was there something in particular you had in mind, or do you just wanna look at my work and see if you like anything?"
She followed Dante to his desk and slid easily into the chair in front of it and nabbed one of the notebooks in front of her. As her eyes and hands moved through the notebook she spoke in a casual yet interested tone. " My name's Kitra. I usually do my own work, however yours is rather impressive." Kitra glanced up to see his reaction before looked back down to spot an Ankh in his notebook. "Ah, here we are." Kitra's eyes and face had lit up and was smiling as she pointed to the Ankh. "Would you do this in a shade of gold-ish green and with an aura of purple around it? "(**think of sun rays**)
Kitra blinked and looked up at Dante, and smiled somewhat sheepishly, "Of course, I am open to color and shading suggestions."
Kitra was seriously bored. She had recovered from the bar the other night fairly quickly, but wanted to go explore. New York had changed, yet still the same old. It was chilly enough for her dark green leather trench coat. Her mid-sized purse matched it as well. Kitra loved it though, it went near down to her ankles and went well with just about anything she wore. As she strode past people and places, Kitra finally decided what she would do today.
I think a new tattoo is in order", she mused out loud.
A few short minutes later, Kitra came upon a young man smoking outside, he had an interesting amount of chains hanging from his pockets. However, what was most interesting was the spiraling smoke trail that left the man's mouth. It was most interesting as she had seen him just put the cigarette out.
She mentally shrugged and moved closer as the young man started making his way back back towards the door of the building. "Pardon me for bothering you. But, ah, would you happen to know where an excellent tattoo parlor is?" Kitra's voice was even-toned and polite. She regarded the man in front of her with a slightly hopeful expression, she really wanted a new tattoo.
Kitra was brought forth from her musings and drink when a distinguished looking gentleman sat down on the bar stool next to her. Not that she was complaining as she looked him over from the corner of her eye as he ordered a whiskey on the rocks.
Kitra returned the small nod, smile, and "Evening" with a smile of her own. "Evening yourself,"
She gestured to his drink after he spoke about the teams upsetting his brackets. "Long day, hmm?"
Then, twirling her drink a bit before taking a sip than speaking, "Who's your teams?" Not that Kitra really knew much about the current sports, but still, small talk was small talk.
Within a few hours of her plane landing, Kitra had gotten her license and passport updated, a hot shower, hair braided, and a small snack in. She didn't have any jet lag as she had managed to sleep nearly the entire plane ride back to New York City. Her apartment was in tip-top shape of course, fully stocked with food and necessities. Kitra wasn't in the mood to stay cooped up so got herself dressed. The day was currently warm, but you never knew when that would change. So, Kitra put on a dark purple dress that had quarter-sleeves and went down to an inch above her knees. Dark green leggings went on underneath, black boots with about an inch heel, and of course a boot dagger went into each boot. "Never can be to careful," Kitra mused out loud to herself. To finish off her look, a dark green jacket was also worn, and a mid-sized purple purse that held her wallet, paper, and a sketchbook with her pencils. Other small necessities were added and apartment keys grabbed and off she went.
About an hour later Kitra was sitting at the bar at the Blue Hill restaurant. She had a strawberry long island about half gone, her cheeseburger completely gone and her fries were close to being devoured as well. At present, she was content to just listen to the few conversations around her as well as watch the news on the TV behind the bar counter.
Hello, I know I completely fell off the face of the earth for awhile! But I wanted to stop and say hellos to everyone. Things have finally settled down for me despite major upheavals in my life. I've managed to get through them thanks to my wonderful boyfriend, who's also my best friend, and through my other wonderful friends that have helped me keep my sanity (mainly) in tact. Will try to come back and post but unsure of where to even begin! Loves and hugs to everyone
For all you MROians that know me from long ago, I have not completely fallen off the face of the planet. I have once again been going through some rough times. However this time I have a wonderful man standing beside me to help me through it. Missing you all and just letting you know I still exist and perhaps one day will get back into posting. But perhaps with a new character Love and cuddles all around, Kitra
Kitra sighed inwardly, well at least Syn and Isabel were still around. Always good to hear. Kitra smiled, "It's good to be welcomed back." Silence resumed as she continued to nom down her food. She hadn't quite realized how hungry she had really been. "So, how long have you been here now?"
Kitra was just curious, of course curiosity normally get her into messes. She could do without remembering any of those fiasco's right now though. Six months, well probably more like eight months. Kitra had disappeared without a trace. Perhaps she really did need to stop chasing after Hunter. Trying to make him answer for what he had done to so many people. Maybe she might, maybe.
Definitely time to pay attention to the gentleman in front of her though. He really was quite nice. His name was Ty, or Fish? She would have to ask him about that one.
Her eyebrow quirked just a little bit. 'This guy is rather funny.' Swallowing a piece of steak, Kitra smiled. "Well, I just got back from being out of the states actually. Wasn't too sure that Sanctuary would be here when I got back." She shrugged and starting on her eggs, which were scrambled of course. With a decent amount of salt and pepper mixed in, nummy nummy.
"Since you don't know too many people", Kitra hesitated a moment then continued. "Well heck, there's no harm in asking." She went into fast talking mood now, "Are the Abyssi still around? Calley, Slate, Syn, Isabel?" Kitra's face went slightly red and her tone was sheepish, "Sorry, I just got back and I'm just hoping everyone's alright and still around." Her mood had visibly dropped as she poked her eggs and took a small bite.
Kitra was munching happily on steak, 'I know right? Steak in the morning is completely epic.' Her munching was interrupted by the sliding of a tray on to her table and a young man taking a fall on his backside. Kitra winced and spoke, "Um, you alright there? That looked a bit painful." Well he slide into his chair quickly enough, that was a good sign. "Name's Kitra, what's yours?"
Waiting for his reply Kitra scanned the hall again, hoping she could spot one of the Abyssi, or maybe Calley, heck even Slate would be nice. Her eyes rested yet again on the young man in front of her. He was also redhead. Pretty neat, though his hair was no where even close to the length her's was currently at. Of course, her hair reached currently down to her knees un-braided.
Kitra's thought process was cut short as her stomach reminded her, non too quietly, that she was still really hungry. So, with a slight tinge of red to her cheeks now, she delved back into her steak.
Kitra shook her head as she climbed her way out of one of New York's taxis. They were by no means spacious, or comfortable for that matter. The driver hopped out and pulled out her luggage and gleefully drove off once she paid him and then some. Her next stop was just a few blocks away. Sanctuary, hopefully there were still people there she knew. Quite thankfully as well, Kitra had on a light purple tank top, it went well with her green miniskirt, black leggings and black boots that had that awesomely thick, inch and a half high heel.
A short time later Kitra pushed open the Golden Doors of Sanctuary and walked inside. Lisa, for once, was not at her desk. She shrugged and moved quickly to the living area and found to her delight that her room was still there. Kitra let out a sigh of relief at finding that someone had kept up with cleaning. She dropped her luggage on the floor next to her bed and exited back out the door. To the Dining room!
Within a minute or two, Kitra was in the lines getting food. She was completely vamished, a long plane ride home, plus a taxi left a girl hungry. Grabbing her now full tray, Kitra spotted an empty table and made it her own as she began chowing down on her awesome food.
