The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kitra shook her head as she climbed her way out of one of New York's taxis. They were by no means spacious, or comfortable for that matter. The driver hopped out and pulled out her luggage and gleefully drove off once she paid him and then some. Her next stop was just a few blocks away. Sanctuary, hopefully there were still people there she knew. Quite thankfully as well, Kitra had on a light purple tank top, it went well with her green miniskirt, black leggings and black boots that had that awesomely thick, inch and a half high heel.
A short time later Kitra pushed open the Golden Doors of Sanctuary and walked inside. Lisa, for once, was not at her desk. She shrugged and moved quickly to the living area and found to her delight that her room was still there. Kitra let out a sigh of relief at finding that someone had kept up with cleaning. She dropped her luggage on the floor next to her bed and exited back out the door. To the Dining room!
Within a minute or two, Kitra was in the lines getting food. She was completely vamished, a long plane ride home, plus a taxi left a girl hungry. Grabbing her now full tray, Kitra spotted an empty table and made it her own as she began chowing down on her awesome food.
Wasn't every day that Ty did breakfast. Heck, it was rare for Ty to wake up in time for breakfast. But today was just one of those days. He'd woken up early and couldn't get back to sleep. He didn't really know why, but he did. And, being hungry, he decided to go and check out this 'breakfast' that he had always managed to elude.
So, he'd donned a dark green shirt, pair of black jeans, and his classic black sneakers with green laces, topped off with a pair of black fingerless gloves, and headed to the kitchen. Tray in hand, he looked around the crowded room, and a thought came to him. He'd been at Sanctuary for somewhere close to eight months, and he knew next to no one. Usually, the psychometric wouldn't care, but today the thought occurred to him that maybe that bit of information had something to do with why he didn't have many friends.
Looking around, the young ginger found an almost-empty table. So, he started for the table. When he was almost to the chair, he stepped on his shoelace, falling backwards. He was able to slide his tray onto the table before he went down, saving his food. What he wasn't able to prevent was him falling on his backside.
Quickly, he forced himself to his feet and slid into the chair, looking at the girl across from him with a slightly red tint to his cheeks. So much for first impressions...
Kitra was munching happily on steak, 'I know right? Steak in the morning is completely epic.' Her munching was interrupted by the sliding of a tray on to her table and a young man taking a fall on his backside. Kitra winced and spoke, "Um, you alright there? That looked a bit painful." Well he slide into his chair quickly enough, that was a good sign. "Name's Kitra, what's yours?"
Waiting for his reply Kitra scanned the hall again, hoping she could spot one of the Abyssi, or maybe Calley, heck even Slate would be nice. Her eyes rested yet again on the young man in front of her. He was also redhead. Pretty neat, though his hair was no where even close to the length her's was currently at. Of course, her hair reached currently down to her knees un-braided.
Kitra's thought process was cut short as her stomach reminded her, non too quietly, that she was still really hungry. So, with a slight tinge of red to her cheeks now, she delved back into her steak.

Ty chuckled a little, brushing his hair out of his face and nibbling on a piece of bacon. "Eh, I'm fine. Just my pride is all. Heck, compared to most of what I've endured, that little spill's nothing." The redhead gave another laugh, tugging at his glove with his free hand.
"Ty," he answered. "Or Fish. Whichever you prefer." Moving to his pancakes, he gave a small shrug. This breakfast thing wasn't so bad. Maybe he'd have to start waking up early more often. Ha...big maybe there.
"Just happened to wake up early, and thought I'd try this 'breakfast' thing I usually sleep through. Then I get this thought of...hey, I've been here several months and I know practically no one here. Aaand on my way to meet new people, I fall. Because apparently, that's how I roll." He shot her a goofy grin to show he was mostly joking, then took another bite.
Her eyebrow quirked just a little bit. 'This guy is rather funny.' Swallowing a piece of steak, Kitra smiled. "Well, I just got back from being out of the states actually. Wasn't too sure that Sanctuary would be here when I got back." She shrugged and starting on her eggs, which were scrambled of course. With a decent amount of salt and pepper mixed in, nummy nummy.
"Since you don't know too many people", Kitra hesitated a moment then continued. "Well heck, there's no harm in asking." She went into fast talking mood now, "Are the Abyssi still around? Calley, Slate, Syn, Isabel?" Kitra's face went slightly red and her tone was sheepish, "Sorry, I just got back and I'm just hoping everyone's alright and still around." Her mood had visibly dropped as she poked her eggs and took a small bite.
"Yeah I don't meet new people that much, it seems. Not in here, I mean. Which is kinda weird when I think about it. Hmmm...I think I've heard the name Isabel here and there, though I can't say I met her. Syn though, I can tell you she is. Heck, she kinda brought me here." The details of that meeting though, Ty no longer remembered. All he knew was she'd showed him Sanctuary one day after telling him he was a mutant. Other details were just a blur.
"The other two though, I'm sorry but I've honestly never heard of 'em. I wish I could help," he murmured, going back to his food. Ty now felt a little bad; here she was, returning to Sanctuary after a long absence, and instead of finding her friends she got some random guy trying to make friends and being awkward. Then again, that was just his luck.
After a moment spent in silence, he looked up at her. "Glad you came back though; always nice to have another friendly face around," he said softly, not sure of what else to say.
Kitra sighed inwardly, well at least Syn and Isabel were still around. Always good to hear. Kitra smiled, "It's good to be welcomed back." Silence resumed as she continued to nom down her food. She hadn't quite realized how hungry she had really been. "So, how long have you been here now?"
Kitra was just curious, of course curiosity normally get her into messes. She could do without remembering any of those fiasco's right now though. Six months, well probably more like eight months. Kitra had disappeared without a trace. Perhaps she really did need to stop chasing after Hunter. Trying to make him answer for what he had done to so many people. Maybe she might, maybe.
Definitely time to pay attention to the gentleman in front of her though. He really was quite nice. His name was Ty, or Fish? She would have to ask him about that one.

Ty smiled, nodding as he too wolfed down the rest of his food. The redhead came to realize he didn't really have the best of table manners, but...oh well. "Let's see...Somewhere upwards of about...seven, maybe eight months," he replied. Wow...it'd been that long? Seemed like it had been only yesterday...
Ty looked down, out of food, but too lazy to go back for more. Shrugging, the young man glanced back up at the young woman in front of him, thinking. "This is kinda nice, I don't socialize like this much. I know you were probably expecting someone you'd known as opposed to a total stranger, but it's nice meeting you," he finally said.
