The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

There it was. A shallow figure of a fish mutant and then his head appeared on the surface of the water. His head trailed around, looking for her. He followed the water prints up the foundation wall and continued to look higher. This was it, it was the moment she got to say BOOOO. Honestly, that was the best feeling, she had to wait for the opportune moment and her heart rate increased a little with excitement. He hadn't fully looked up yet, but Fade was already turning visible, from her toes to the tip of her nose.
Finally, the right moment came and she was fully visible, staring down at Chris. "Consider this your hint," she said before letting go of the ceiling, plummeting down to the water. Her body sharpened up as she dove, careful to not dive on top of Chris. The water was just as cold the second time, chilling her and making her curl up instead of staying straight to keep diving down. Although she wanted to resurface, she did not want to give up her location again and she turned invisible, swimming to the foundation again so she could grab ahold and surface her mouth for a breath.
Fade had never been the best swimmer, so grabbing onto that foundation was her only safe place, it was where she could hold on and not swim. If anything happened to her, she only had to turn visible and make a bunch of noises under water, hopefully Chris would save her, or at least she hoped he could swim while pulling her. For now, she just clung to the foundation.
Three no-beard photos. One in the avatar, two in the siggy. Two quotes too, one you suggested and one I found. Let me know if you would like any more changes:
((FWEEPIE! O.o oopsies. I didn't realize I did that, my baddddddd! haha, you did it too in the post before))
"How far could you throw me do you think? I only weigh like 125 lbs or something," she said, with the fullest intent of NEVER being thrown by Venus. Ouch, that would be one horrible landing, not like what dads do in the pool when they throw their kids a couple feet down and into the water. Nope, even if Fade landed in water, it would sting so much and she would probably pass out or not be able to swim to the surface by the time she stopped falling into the water.
He mentioned that his brothers were worse and it hit her. That was right! He was one of the Order! How could she trust him? She had gone against everything she told herself she would not, she had let herself down by pairing up with such a bad guy. Then again, she had not seen him do anything bad (no innuendo intended) so she had no reason to believe that. Maybe she saw him in battle, but which one of him? Surely, she did not see Venus, she must have seen one of the others fighting brutally. She tried to keep her mind off of it, but a little indication of her thought lingered on her eyebrows as they lowered a bit for a second and then rose to their normal position.
When she had reached the other foundation, she saw Chris resurface. How long could he go without air? Her eyes peered around the side of the bridge foundation, still invisible. She concentrated her hardest to keep every drop of water on her head invisible, but it was so hard to do. When he dove back down, she got a little suspicious. So now she knew what it was like to try to find an invisible mutant. He had no air bubbles that surfaced, no little ripples that echoed in the water. It was a real pain to figure out where he was, that must be how it is when she disappears and no one can find her. Exept she can disappear in broad daylight. Right now, it was a bit dreary outside and she couldn't see underwater in the first place. Plus, didn't the Hudson have like a bazillion germ particles floating around? She could get an eye infection. She cursed herself for not bringing goggles.
Still no sign of Chris. She did not know what to do, she could stay right where she was and risk getting caught by a little pocket of nothing in the water, taking her form, or she could keep moving and be a moving pocket of nothing. Or she could give him a hint for more fun. Now that was a good idea. Even if they were training, there was no sense in not having fun. She phased her claws into the foundation and began to climb. The second the air hit her, it reminded her of just how cold the water was and every inch of her body begged her to bundle up in a blanket and keep warm. But not her brain, no, she was determined.
Her skin raised in little bumps along with each of her tiny body hairs, all letting her know they were cold by tingling. The water dripped off her. Alot, at first, then little drops rippling in the water. While she was invisible, there were little wet knee prints on the way up, indicating where she regained her footing. She continued to climb up, getting used to the air temperature. Her teeth chattered just a little bit. Finally, she had reached the ceiling, or the bottom of the bridge depending on how you look at it. Her hands were behind her back, clinging tightly to the ceiling along with her feet. The rest of her body dangled down, facing the water. While she was invisible still, little drops of water fell from her hair, sprinkling the water's surface. When Chris would appear, she'd surprise him and try to go invisible again, hopefully it would work. Then again, she didn't know if he knew she was up there. Just to give him a little tip, she shook her hair violently, sending the little drops of hair down on the water's surface like rain.
I was looking some up, but I gotta swing by somewhere for tax forms, so it was not too long of a a search. The celeb I found is Ryan Gosling, although he leans more towards dirty blonde. I looked up a few others: Joseph Gordon Levitt, Joe Anderson, Kevin Zeger, but I think Ryan fits it a bit better. Also, unfortunately, the photos Ryan has are mostly of him with a beard, so I tried to find at least a subtle beard. Of course, I am willing to make another or make any adjustments to this one, but this is what I have so far:
Nothing could be heard, Fade could not hear him do anything on the bridge, it was all such minimal noise that it did not reach her down in the water. The only thing she could distinguish was a wetsuited frog-ish looking body plummeting to the surface and hitting it with a splash. After that, it was quiet. She did not see him resurface, did not see him even pop up his mouth for air. Could he breathe underwater? Trying to keep herself hidden, she ducked back underwater and pushed off the foundation with her feet, pointing her arms to go in the direction of a different foundation pillar. Maybe she could just leave her scent places, like a dog, and he would follow.
She used her arms to pull and her legs to push, she was not that great of a swimmer, but she had just learned, she she got a break. She paused in the water, looking around for any signs of Chris. Had he found her? Was he lurking? Had he drowned?! Nooo, he couldn't drown, right? Fade decided to keep swimming for the other foundation, making many pit stops to look around and just stop moving. Every fifteen seconds or so, she would resurface with just her mouth for more air. Maybe she should have brought an oxygen tank, but that would just bloat out bubbles for Chris to follow.
While she waited with her head slightly out of the water, she heard a car pull up and a door to that car open and shut. He was here, but he hadn't jumped in yet. Judging by the shadow cast down onto the water from the lightpost, he was unsure of what to do next. If your friends told you to jump off a bridge, would you? Hopefully he would. She waded out, knowing that her body was pushing water away from it, making her a little visible, water was always the worse for invisibility. Sure, she could phase through it, but that's just the initial blow of a tsunami she could phase through, swimming through it was much more difficult. First off, she can't phase through a liquid really because solids at least provide foundations for her body to latch onto while she phases, like when she climbs. Water had nothing for her to hold on to, when you're about to fall down a waterfall, you can't just hold on, same concept.
She would work on that today. Maybe not just disappearing from his senses, but staying invisible in water, that was tough enough even if a human was tracking her. In order to let him know what was going on, she turned visible and swam out, thank goodness she learned how to swim, finally, she'd be dead. "Come on down, Chris, it's great!" she called before diving down and going invisible again. She swam under the bridge and grabbed onto the foundation to keep the current from pulling her away. In order to breathe, she poked her head out of the water, just enough to release the rotten air in her system and breathe in some fresh air before diving back down.
It was not exactly a party night, not like most of her nights, this one would help her in the long run and was fun for right now, even if it was freezing. A quick mental note that the two of them should stop at a cafe and get a hot chocolate afterwards stuck in Fade's mind as she resurfaced for another breath.
Fade's powers had been growing at a rapid pace, well, much faster than before at least, and she only wanted to practice more. Her hope was that one day, she would be invisible for even those who had extra senses, so she had been going out at night to locate a mutant. Of course, this had its dangers at the mutant bars when she would stay invisible and wait for someone to find her, but each time, whoever found her was not interested in helping her develop her powers, it was always they were drunk and interested. Although once a woman had found her, only to tell her to stop standing so close to her boyfriend. No, she needed to find someone who had extra senses and who was good and she found exactly that.
Chris had been living at the Mansion, she did not know too much about him, only that when she asked for help with her powers, he said yes. He was an odd looking fellow, a bit on the reptile side, but he was nice and that was always appreciated. Usually, they would have met in the Training room, but Fade grew tired of the Danger Room, she wanted to get out more. They decided on the Hudson River, a bit cold this time of year, well, a bit cold no matter what time. Chris would be fine with it, she read his file, well, as much of it as she could read, she still needed to learn how. Fade, on the other hand, needed a wetsuit, a very thick one.
The taxi pulled up and dropped her off after she passed up the money. New York, you could go anywhere so long as you had cash. Once out of the taxi, she walked up to the bridge and took off her jacket and sweatpants to reveal her wetsuit. Looking around, she left her clothes on the bridge to let Chris know she was here and climbed on the guard rail. Looking down, she smirked and jumped. That smirk quickly left her lips the second her skin made contact with the water temperature. No, not very warm at all. Still, she turned invisible and lurked under the bridge for Chris, keeping her head high enough above the water for her to breathe.
I am going to have to nominate Andrea. Although I have never RP'ed with her, there are a few things I noticed. First off, I enjoy her in the Cbox, even if I lurk most of the time. I also enjoy her character, the green skin and everything that comes with it and her posts in A Spud Out of Water, It's Raining…Women. Her character has the power to turn things to hard stone like material from touch and send people into a catatonic state if they look into her eyes. I find it hard to roleplay a character that cannot touch either, it is most certainly a challenge, but to not touch or ever directly look at someone, now that's a tough hurdle to jump and for that, I applaud her. Plus, she has had a power growth and now has snakes in her hair. A bluish green, hard to touch, snakes in hair, don't make eye contact character is hard to RP and I think Andrea does it quite marvelously, therefor, I nominate Andrea. Good job!
Sam. The born leader. The second he sprang from his mother, she must have seen him in Spartan armor because he just seemed like the manly man. Fade, on the other hand, had never really been good as a team player, whereas Sam was practically the Football Quaterback. He noted that she was ok but he called her Jenny. Damnit, she should have said she didn't remember her real name when she registered at the Mansion. The only wayu she would find being called Jaenny to be normal was if it was what her lover called her, and Fade was single. It was not that she disagreed with a human name, it was almost like Jenny was a different personality. Jenny was the one who got kidnapped, Jenny was the runaway, Jenny was the name she never heard anymore. Sam would probably have better luck calling her Tim, she'd even respond to Wade, at least it rhymed. Still, she sort of nodded and held on more, cursing at her lack of gym time when Sam leaned on her, he was heavy. Then again, Fade could hardly lift her bike.
He called out for someone, an AL. I didn't know Sam was gay... was her initial response until it hit her, Alex. Not Alex a boy, Alexandra. Really, she had never met the woman, but rumors have told Fade that Alex and Sam were cute together. Great, now she had managed to do the near impossible, become the fifth wheel in a rescue mission! Too bad Raph was not around to pick up that piece.
The thoughts were flying around in her mind, darting from skull wall to wall, she was getting ridiculous. If she just slowed down her mind enough to get through the mission, maybe she wouldn't get hurt this time. Whipping her head to the side, she snapped out of her thought train and looked around. The second she had snapped back to reality, an aweful smell hit her. Well, really it was not too terrible, she used to live in a wreck like this, it smelled more like rat droppings where she once lived, this place just smelled like decay, how sarcastically lovely. Shawn stepped up to the front, at least he could defend them, something Fade needed to work on. There were cells everywhere, but they were looking for this Alex. Shawn called out for her as well. It would not be too proper for a girl who never even met Alexandra to shout out her name, so she just looked around, adjusting her stance so she could continue to hold Sam.
And there it was. See? All you needed was some good coaxing and the bear came out on it's own, it actually walked out to her and she lifted him off of the floor. No harm in just talki-GAH! Deathstar threw herself at the opportunity and began to question the bear, noble and safe, a bit harsh, but in all of the ruckous, Fade had been thrown aside. It wasn't that hard of a throw, or at least she had been thrown quite a lot harder, but she definitely was not expecting it and her right foot spun out from under her in an odd position, sending her balance completley offset and hurdling her towards the dresser. In an attempt not to destroy Deathstar's dresser, even if it would be her fault if it broke, and an attempt to save herself from a bruise on her face or a sore elbow, she phased through and held on tight with the claws on her feet. Immediately, she phased through the ground and through the ceiling on the level below, her claws dug in tightly. Her back popped when she suddenly stopped, hanging off the ceiling, dangling above the bedroom in the room underneath. There was a young girl in there reading a book and she looked up for a brief moment of curiousity as Fade blushed and just waved. As if this sort of thing happens all the time, the girl went back to her book and Fade grabbed onto the ceiling with her claws, allowing her feet to drop and dangle as she hoisted herself back up.
"Whoa. Don't ask what that was," she said as she emerged form the dresser, taking her place next to Deathstar, who was in a threatening mood. With a bit of pity, and a bit of relief that Fade was never stuck in the teddy bear's situation, she eyed the bear and said "might as well speak up, I don't think anyone's ever been convicted of teddy murder," she smiled. It was not that she thought it was funny that the stuffing of the teddy could be riped out in a few seconds, in fact, she thought it was sad. What made her smile was the mental picture of Deathstar being in a courthouse for teddy murder.
"The victim was enjoying a nice day in a dress when Layla stole it's innocence and sent it to teddy heaven. Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, I urge you to see how miserable this sad tale is, look at teddy's family, they are completely torn up about this. Only you can put her behind bars forever. Make sure she never does this to another plushie again."
Although Venus was just being playful, the thought of her heart phasing out into his hand terrified her. Of course, it was just a little cutsie "i got your heart" comment, but still, it sent a shiver down her spine. What if that happened to any of her other organs? How much trouble would she be in? Well, plenty, that was for sure. You can't survive with your stomach on the ground, or your kidney in someone's hands! Or maybe the kidney thing would be fine, she had heard of people surviving without the kidney, but she still wanted it, even if she didn't need it. Same concept as her appendix or her wisedom teeth or her tonsils, she still wanted them! Boy, there were alot of things doctors pulled out of bodies.
He got closer, evoking that seductress in her, but then the delivery man arrived. Drats. Venus paid and returned with the food while Fade sat down at the table. She took some fried rice and put it on her plate along with some beef and brocolli, although she never ate the brocolli and some sweet and sour pork. It was a good meal, or so it smelled. She took a bite a smiled. Yup, it was good food. "So then, how far can you throw a person?" she asked, making sure she didn't talk with too much food in her mouth. That would be gross. The TV was not too loud so they couldn't hear eachother, but Fade didn't mind what was on TV, she enjoyed movies, didn't know too much about shows and such.
