The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The sound of the other woman's voice surprised her as Tricity turned around to face Syn. "Surrender? Hardly... As much as it would please you, for some strange reason to have your own kind surrender to you, this isn't what I'm here about, as I've already explained." Tricity didn't think Syn would actually sit down next to her on the fountain to have this talk, so she finished the gap between them by approaching the woman.
Tricity let her eyes flicker around the area for a moment before returning her gaze to Syn. Did Syn keep her bargain about coming alone? "Listen... I'm not stupid enough to start an unnecessary fight with your... friends for no reason. I'm not going to put any of the residents or my team in harm's way, especially over a prank like taking your doors." She said this in a tone as if it was the stupidest thought anyone could ever think.
"I would think you would be more interested in finding out who would want the two of us fighting," Tricity continued, playing in a bit to Syn's personality. "I would think you would be wondering who's been toying with you." She wasn't looking for The Order to go out and get revenge for what happened on the mansion grounds, but more trying to find out if Syn knew anything else about who would want the two groups fighting.
Tricity relaxed a bit and began talking more casually to Syn. "I remember the delivery men. Well, mutants I should say. One was a bird and the other something like a robot. Ring any bells?" Would Syn actually want to talk this out? Tricity could only hope...
Tricity nodded to the others with assurance as they headed to the infirmary, following the fight with The Order members on the grounds. She needed to get to the War Room bunkers and call everyone out from inside. Taking a shortcut through the kitchen, Tricity pushed the many balloons out of her way until she saw one bobbing lower and lower to the floor.
'What the...' Immediately stopping in her tracks, Tricity crouched to look under the table in which the balloon seemed so adamant about getting under. It took her several blinks to realize what she was seeing. There was a girl under the table, eating birthday cake and grabbing the playful balloon. Tricity didn't recognize the girl as a student or resident of the mansion, however, it didn't mean she wasn't someone new to the mansion.
Tricity remained crouched about ten feet from the young woman and folded her arms over her chest. "Shouldn't you be in the bunker with the others?"
'I could be walking right into a trap,' Tricity thought, sighing as she parked her black mustang a block from one of the entrances leading into Central Park. Was it really necessary to meet outside when it was so damn cold out? "Hate the winter..."
Tricity crossed the street, pulling her floor length peacoat tighter around herself and buttoning it down her body. The wind was whipping hard and she could feel herself beginning to chatter. Seeing the opportunity to cross the heavy circle of New York traffic, Tricity ran across the street and into the almost empty park except for the year round runners.
She made her way to Bethesda Terrace, where Syn had indicated to meet up. At least Syn had picked one of the more beautiful areas of the park. Tric had always loved the architecture of the fountains surrounding the lake. Admiring a greek statue of an angel in the middle of the active fountain, she sat down on the stone edge and waited for Syn to arrive.
Tricity stood as Syn walked away, grasping her sore throat while taking in slow and steadier breaths. She took in the woman's words and shook her head in annoyance. 'Still looking to fight her own kind.' They really needed to figure out who was looking to cause the two factions to fight.
The Headmistress looked around and saw the Order members begin to back down. This fight could've ended ugly. The thought of those mutants inside the mansion gave her a new surge of anger. Tricity gave her neck a slight crack and felt the ever present surge of electricity spread evenly and normally throughout her body. She was thankful there was some will to hold that brewing power at bay. If that surge had released, no telling what would've happened...
Tricity gave a nod to the remaining X-Men on the field. "Everyone to the infirmary and I mean everyone. You all did an amazing job tonight. I'll need a few to remain on guard if your injuries aren't serious just in case." She began the walk back to the mansion with the others following in step.
Tricity gripped Syn's arm with her hands in an attempt to relieve some of the pressure. Her opponent had a point though.. If the electric charge did fire out through Syn's body, the woman's muscles could tense up and crush Tricity's airway even more.
Her vision was slipping. She wanted to bring her leg around and free herself of the steadfast grip, but it seemed Syn was suddenly letting sense come back to her. Tricity pulled in a deep breath. "Sounds... like you're... using your brain.. for once." She smirked and shifted her weight, causing the grip to loosen slightly. Tricity quickly took in another gratifying breath.
"Take... your goddamn... doors. Do... you think we... would be so stupid as... to take those... gaudy looking... things?" Tricity shifted with all her might, turning her body to the side, and relieving more of the pressure on her throat. "Use your head... I wouldn't ever put these... children, residents, or... my team in such... a senseless fight. I think... you and I should... talk."
It seemed her words were reaching Syn. Tricity felt herself beginning to relax more and the swirling charge that had been building inside herself was dissipating. Was that pressure being removed from her lungs?
Tricity came to a halt at the feet of the sentinel, hearing another wave of humans screaming in a panic down the street. Her head snapped up to see Nika sailing from the building and landing perfectly on the robot. She viciously attacked the sentinel, attempting to rip the thing apart.
The second sentinel was close behind them and Tricity nodded toward Ghost to watch her back as the Trainee attempted to douse the fires. Suddenly, Steel was flying past her giving Tricity a cold shudder. The young mutant leaped into the air and punched the sentinel in the leg. She could see the ice begin to cover the titan's body, making it stiffen where it stood. A few sparks shot out from its joints making Tricity grin. "Nice," she whispered to herself.
The second sentinel was now upon them and it swung down at Ghost and herself. Tricity quickly dodged out of the way and behind a car. "Ghost?!" She heard the machine powering up for a laser attack. "Shit..." She threw herself flat to the ground and rolled underneath the car, scurrying away from the attack. A moment later, a loud explosion from behind her indicated the vehicle was now destroyed as she turned to face the robot and scan the street for Ghost.
Tricity pulled a surge from another car and immediately formed an electrical current in her hand which swirled and sparked. She was about to take aim when she heard the sentinel from behind begin to power up. Her head snapped around and she could see Steel was trapped. "Sam!!" It seemed the robot that had just tried to zap her was scanning the area for Ghost and hadn't turned to see Tricity yet.
She broke out into a run, hoping Ghost and the others would be able to handle the second sentinel for the time. As she ran, she pulled more of a surge inside her until enough energy was swirling inside her to levitate at a faster pace. Tricity only had seconds in this margin if she was going to get Steel safe. She also hoped Nika could hang on for the ride that this sentinel was about to give if the catgirl had climbed back on. Tricity released the power within her body, sending the electricity outward and propelling her forward. The surges broke the glass of a Footlocker storefront on one side of the street and then fried a car on the other side, making the alarm sound continously. She wouldn't have been able to touch anyone with that kind of electricity inside her.
The sentinel locked onto Sam. Tricity slammed into Steel, wrapping her arms around him simultaneously and releasing him from the sentinel's leg the hard way. They sailed through the air and rolled across the street as the robot fired its laser. It scorched the road feet from where they landed. "Ugh..." Tricity groaned, trying to focus and see if Sam as well as Nika were okay. She unsteadily got to her knees and attempted to stand.
The kick missed, but the surge of electricity did catch Abyss. 'Good.' The hulking red mass went down nearly at her and Syn's feet. She sucked in another breath, but was caught off guard as Syn tackled her to the ground. Tricity went down hard, her head smacking against the dirt. Her focus went blurry and she saw spots along with the face of Syn staring down at her with a determined hatred.
The air left her lungs again. Syn's hand was wrapped around Tricity's throat, forcing the life out of her. She couldn't concentrate on anything, but trying to get another gasp of air. The X Leader instinctively grabbed onto Syn's arm that was pushing her deeper into blackness. She had to stay awake... She had to stay awake... It was then one of Abyss's clones stepped up behind the two women.
Her instincts were taking over now and she didn't have much control when this happened. There was nothing she could do... Order Members and X-Men alike were in danger now. She hated when this happened...
A consuming black started to fill her eyes and a static electricity rushed across the field. 'No... No.. Have to keep control...' She could see Syn's hair start to rise. "I... suggest... you... stop..." she choked out, keeping a tight hold on Syn's arm.
The glass of the floodlights surrounding the mansion grounds began to break as the electricity poured into Tricity's body. The combatants were left to the light of the moon now that it had gotten dark outside. "Syn..." she stammered. "Please... What.. do you plan... on accomplishing... here anyway?" Tricity let the surge circle violently inside her, keeping it dormant until the right moment.
Tricity continued running at Syn. She could feel the electricity beginning to pulse through her completely, which meant a blue aura was most likely going to inadvertantly spread over her entire body. It was important she kept her mutation in check as much as possible. She 'swallowed' the power back up and tried to maintain control. Focus remained on Syn.
Her momentum going forward, Tricity saw Syn pull back for a punch and quickly shifted her weight back to stop. She intinctively threw her arms up to deflect the punch, but was surprised when a sudden force to the stomach winded her. 'She kicked.' Tricity took a few gasps and pulled her arms away from her face to see the woman intending to punch full force this time. Getting hit by Syn was simply not an option Tricity wanted to deal with much in a fight. The woman could hit... hard.
It was then she saw her second opponent coming from her right side. Getting hit by Abyss was simply not an option Tricity wanted to deal with AT ALL in a fight. She had to react now or she was toast.
Still doubled over from the well guided kick she'd received, Tricity let her momentum continue south where she placed her hands on the ground to brace herself and gave a sweeping kick toward Syn's legs before the woman could connect the punch. The kick was set up in such a way that if Syn was sent falling, she would be directly in the path of Abyss who was charging at them. A full blast of electricity released from her hands as well, sending a shocking wave through the earth and in a radius of 15 feet around her.
She had to slow Abyss and put some distance between herself and the siblings.
Tricity immediately produced a surging blue orb in her hand and aimed for her opponent when a sudden familiar and hulking red figure entered the grounds. 'Abyss...' In her notice of the new Order member entering the fight, Tricity found that even more of the opponent had made an appearance. Were these reinforcements or a second wave of mutants they hadn't seen in the darkness of the grounds? It seemed the X-Men had gotten the upper hand at one point, but now... there weren't many of them left on the field and they would each be handling more than one adversary.
This process of thought hadn't distracted Tricity for more than a second as Syn was still recovering from her first attack. Tricity quickly switched targets and aimed directly for Abyss who was bounding across the grounds toward them. The electrical ball flew from her hands and toward the red mass of muscle, directly aiming for the mutant's chest. As soon as the attack was released, Tricity conjured up another surge of power and ran toward Syn. Fighting both the siblings at once could prove... difficult.
Tricity gave an exasperated smirk at Streak with a raised eyebrow and nodded in agreement with Raven. The fireball flew through the Square and hit the sentinel square in the chest. Its head rotated around, taking its focus from the civilians, and locking on to Raven and the other mutants. She could hear the sounds of the data it was receiving as it read Raven's mutation. Tricity half turned her head to see the sentinel behind them was about a city block away.
"Well... Let's all not stand in one spot, eh?" She said, hearing the sentinel with the blackened chest charging for an attack. "Break up and head toward the one in front of us," she instructed as the red laser in the sentinel's eyes began to form for the attack. Tricity conjured one of her electrical orbs and sent the swirling, blue mass of energy at the robot's head. It connected, causing the thing to stumble backward a few steps and release the laser into a nearby building with a small explosion. The glass from the windows and pieces of the structure rained down into the streets. "Shall we?"
Tricity broke out into a run toward the front sentinel, looking back once to see the far sentinel wasn't far from their current location. Her attention went back to the first titan as it locked onto her. She could hear the machine revving for another attack. Its chest opened awkwardly due to Raven's first attack and it fired a small missle toward her. Tricity jumped on one of the many cars throughout the Square and slid across the hood, dodging the missile that sent the car into a massive fireball. She continued down the street, hearing her teammates close behind her.
People were dropping now. The numbers on the field were dwindling. Tricity knew it and Syn knew it... And what had it solved in the end? Nothing as usual... Suddenly, two familiar streaks flew across the grounds and she felt a surge of relief to see Emerald and her sister coming to the aid of Raina, her brother, and Luke. The girls were helping them from the battle. A bit of happiness washed over Tricity, but it was quickly replaced again by anger, annoyance, and still a hint of fear as she focused once more at the woman in front of her.
"Enough." Tricity pulled another surge of the back up power that was lying dormant in the broken lights of the field. Her body was pulsing with energy now, but she remembered Syn's mutation well and kept most of the power subsided with only a trickle of it in her fists. Tricity shifted her weight back and then forward again, sending a right hook at Syn, followed with a step with her right foot and a left kick to the woman's side.
(OOC: Woot, I'm back. No more sicky, holidays, or constant working!)
This... This is what she wanted. Teamwork. Impressive.
Tricity closed her eyes and smiled. 'Let's make a team, then.' Her eyes opened once more and all the orbs in the room had stopped. They were simply floating in mid-air, waiting for her instruction. She pulled the god-mic to her mouth. "Excellent work guys. Now let's get a little dangerous."
She clicked a few buttons and started a new simulation. The training room below changed. The orbs vanished. The lights dimmed a moment, leaving them all in blackness, and then the scene slowly came back on again. They were in the city. In fact, they were in Times Square during the middle of the day... and it was completely deserted. No traffic, no people, no noise at all. Just the endlessness of tall buildings.
Tricity clicked one last button and got up from her chair before giving Katrina another wink. She jogged downstairs and opened the door to the simulation room where she seemingly came out of Macy's. Her teammates stood in the streets as she hurried over to meet up with them. "The real danger starts now. We don't work as a team, we don't live." Tricity lifted her head up toward the simulated sky and said, "Activate simulation now."
The noise was first. The obvious background noises of businesses and advertisements calling for the shoppers' attention. Next, the cars appeared, some having crashed into one another, most parked and empty in the middle of the streets. Many on fire. The people were last and always kept on. Waves of them came running passed in hysterics every twenty seconds or so in groups of twelve to fifteen. A chaotic scene.
The ground shook every couple of seconds. Something huge was coming at them from both ends of the Square. "Sentinels," Tricity began. "Robotic titans with lasers, missiles, nets, and the ability to fly. They can read your mutations and lock on to you for an attack." The ground shook again. "Their biggest weakness are their agility. Surrounding them can prove affective with the right plan." The first sentinel could be seen at the end of the long streets, stalking over toward them.
"The people will act as people. They will come in waves and tend to be a distraction and obstacle at times. Try not to get them killed. The less casualties during missions, the better." She nodded at the cars lining the streets. "These can be good barricades and shields if a sentinel is baring down on you." The ground shook again and the sentinel behind them was now visible through the smoke of a group of burning cars.
"If anyone feels the need to leave, now would be the best time, otherwise," Tricity breathed in and pulled in the electricity from some of the running, but abandoned cars, "Let's make friends with the sentinels."
