The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

OOC: Some of you may know, some of you might not. Neena will be absent for a while, so do not include her as being in the room any longer. Here we will begin our training session. It's open to anyone from the X-Men, trainees, and prospectives. Tric will start the intro and then you may freely post. Seeing as this thread will be going for a while, try and keep the posts a few paragraphs so everyone doesnt have a novel each time. )
Tricity sat in one of the big, black, leather swivel chair of the Danger Room and watched as everyone prepared themselves in the room below. She nodded for Katrina to pop a squat in the chair next to her so she could get the best view. Tric gave a wink before pulling the god mic to her lips.
"Ok everyone, this is it. If we don't understand how our mutations work, we won't be a very effective team. For now you're grouped up into 'like' groups," Tricity began, using her fingers as quotes. "But in the end, we're one team. Support one another. Find your strengths and weaknesses."
She gave a wink to everyone and clicked the mic off before flipping and pushing a couple buttons to start the training session. The computer came alive. "Level 1 training. Activate orb-bots. Laser tag only... orbs on level 1."
The lights in the Danger Room went out and back on a second later. The sound of the high-tec machine indicating the session was about to begin. Panels in the room's walls opened up and small flying, metal orbs descended onto the group.
"These orbs will produce nets, small rubber pellets, and a laser light. If the laser light remains on your body for more than a couple seconds, the orb will make a beep, indicating you're death... well, in theory of course. Esentially the tactics of these orbs is to incapacitate you with the pellets, shoot the net to hold you still, and release the light for a few seconds to indicate its win. If you're defeated by the orb, you'll be expected to shuffle your way to the sidelines where the net will release from deactivation after stepping across the painted line that circles the room. After that, you may join in the fight. Keep in mind, they are extremely fast and will work together just as you all are expected to."
A scoreboard lowered from another panel. The two teams consisted of the X-Men and the Orbs. "Now, for us to score... We simply need to destroy them by whatever means necessary. For now, we'll start with 40. The computer will be keeping track of the score. Good luck!"
Tricity hit another button and the orbs began loading their program for the exercise. She sat back and watched with hope as the orbs began spinning around the room. 'Let's see what you're made of, team.'
Orbs:
OOC: Sorry about not being around lately. The site wouldn't let me log in. Idk what that was all about, but hopefully that crap will stop!

(OOC: Quick conversation starter before the action begins... my next post should be with all the fun stuff. )
IC: As Tricity made her anouncement Luke turned to face the glass enclosed monitoring room with an eyebrow raised. "Destroy them? Any chance I can get a staff before this whole thing begins?"
As the orbs began to move around the room he took that as a big fat NO. With an inward sigh Luke turned back to monitoring the orbs, he knees flexing ever so slightly as he prepared to begin moving... fast.
"So... either of you have abilities to attack things like that?" The blind man asked his focus remaining on the orbs even as he spoke to both Seizure and Max. "Because quite honestly, without a weapon this might be... tough for me."

Hearing Luke's question he fashioned a silver staff for him. "Luke. Here." he called out handing him the staff. Streak had been through something like this when he first tried out for the xmen. The orbs were smart for sure and Tricity wasn't lying to them about that. However, these were different that the ones he'd fought. The ones he'd fought didn't have a laser attached to them that would 'kill' you.
Fairly soon the orbs started flying around the room quickly. "Hope your ready Nika." He said to her. He knew she would be, though he was anxious to start this little show case of powers and see how everyone handled the situation. He wasn't going to prepare any weapons, yet, though he might resort to them after seeing what the orbs had planned for them. This shouldn't be to difficult. He thought to himself as he waited for the orbs, or someone else in the room, to make the first move.

Raina ran up next to streak. Her long red hair was tied back in a tight braid and she was wearing a skin tight neck to toe body suit made out of water resistant material. It looked a bit like a surf suit. So long as her face stayed dry she'd be fine with this- and to tell the truth she needed to blow off some steam.
She didn't spot Luke as she ran in, she was focused on the orbs. She slapped Streak on the back. "Well I'm ready, and Im going to get more orbs than you!" she announced running past him.
At the best of times Raina was usually pretty uncoordinated and clumbsy, but on a mission or in the danger room Raina was a proverbial acrobat. She leapt passed Streak and launched herself into the air.
There were various ledges and hand grooves forming on the walls of the danger room and Raina made use of the first one her feet caught, balancing carefully she opened her mouth and let out that shrill sound to cause goosebumps on the necks of everyone around. And ice ramp formed in the sky and she slid down it avoiding every orb as it came at her as if she were on an elaborate skateboard ramp. "Cold Steel has nothing on me!" she called out launching herself off the ice as it evaporated and reaching out midair to grab the base of one of the orbs. "See ya!" she called to it reaching up to it's base and punching through the flimsy frame to the wires underneath. Another shrill note filled the hole she'd created with ice that melted as the orb sparked, blinked, and crashed to the ground with Raina landing on her feet next to it. She whiped her forhead and tightened her hair. "One down." she said with a smile to Streak.

Sam smiled at the task at hand seemed easy enough… just get some orbs right? Sam smiled as he iced himself from head to toe and slammed to the ground as a dome covered over him as he began forming his ice minions… sure they probably weren’t needed but Sam loved winning and that’s exactly what he planned on doing. Sam waved a hand as the dome began to disappear into a hazy mist revealing him and then his golems one at a time.
Sam started to run as he controlled his powers to form small slides under him and the seven golems next to him as the slide lifted Sam yelled to Raina, “That’s debatable.” as he came upon his first target. Sam motioned as two golems moved in front of him and acted as a shield as the pellets and nets came. Sam was well protected as his golems took all the damage. As they made there pass under the orb one of the minions picked Sam up and launched him in the air as he shot threw the glass and grabbed the orb and fell only to be caught by one of the ice minions as the others came back into formation, “How do you like them apples Raina?”
Sam skated back down to the other elementals, “Sorry just don’t like to be one upped.” He looked at them and asked so what’s the plan?” as he formed a large human shield type deal with the minions.
Tricity watched from the observation deck as things began to jump off; Raina easily taking down one of the orbs. 'So an X-Woman starts it off,' she thought with a smile. She could see the others begin to loosen up and scan the room as the orbs darted around in formations to attack the various mutants. This wouldn't be that easy a task. The only reason it was considered a Level 1 training was because there was no immediate danger involved. Still, they would need to work together to get these orbs down.
Sam's powers were quite useful. Being able to use golems that actually obeyed was something Tricity hadn't seen very often. He controlled them well. She watched him land into the arms of one of his creations, holding an orb. Her eyes looked up to the scoreboard and saw the mutants were up 2 to 0. That wouldn't last long...
Tricity pulled the god mic to her lips again. "By the way," she began as the battle below continued. "The orbs learn. They will begin to understand how you move and your mutations to better attack you and your teammates. Oh, and don't forget they will team up on you. They don't act alone." She pushed the mic away and leaned closer to watch the chaos ensue.
Garrett looked at the two standing there with him. A blind man, an emotional manipulator and a neural manipulator. Between the three of them, Luke was probably the most apt for this kind of scenario. He watched as Streak make Luke a staff out of silver. This new guy was even more popular, it seemed. Sure the blind man might need a stick, but how about the two guys without visual impairments who couldn't do squat with their powers otherwise?
No time for moping as the orbs started to buzz around, firing their little pellets and nets. He watched, as many did at the antics of the icemancers in the room. Impressive as usual. He eyed the base columns of the ice slides as possible cover later. Tricity had mentioned that the orbs were smart and learned from behavior that they exhibited. So, do nothing, he thought. Observe the observers. One of the unsuccesful net blasts bounced off of Cs and floated toward the ground. As the orbs turned toward the ice people, Garrett jumped up and caught the floating net.
The rubber pellets scattered across the floor, which also enlightened him. He took one of his shoes off as chaos ensued through the room. Kneeling, he unlaced the shoe and removed his sock as well. He filled the sock with enough pellets to give it weight, tied the top in a crude knot and put it in the net, which he had laid out on the floor flat.He then ran the shoelace into the net, weaving it so the weighted sock hung below the now tied and knotted line. He waited in anticipation.
Nika loved the Danger Room. She had been practicing new fighting skills. Now it was time to do what she really enjoyed doing. Kicking some tail and showing she was a team player.
Streak nudged her and asked if she was ready.
"Ohh yeah. I'm plenty ready."
The elementals had already started scoring hits. It seemed Cold Steel was trying to out do Raina.
"Alright Streak and the rest of you. Let's get to work."
Almost as soon as Nika said that one of the orbs fired a pellet at her. Dropping and rolling to her right she avaoided the projectile.
"Alright you pesking little things."
Nika crouched down and using her strength from her compacted cat like muscule structure she propelled herself toward a pair of orbs. They weren't side by side as one was slightly higher than the first, but they were close enough to try to strike.
Striking out with her left fist at the first one she punched it's center sending the thing flying across the room and crashing into the wall. While still in "flight" another orb fired a net apparently at somone on the ground but an edge of it hit Nika's foot and lost it's trajectory. However, the slight impact also changed the feline's position as well. Twisting her body Nika used the changed angle to kick out with her right leg while twisting and striking the second orb straight down to the floor and smashing against it.
Landing back on the floor the catgirl spotted a red beam appear on her left foot which caused her to roll backwards back. This was going to be tougher than she thought. Tricity's announcement ensured just that.
"Yeah, we really need to work together guys. So let's do it!"

After Streak had pased the staff that he'd made to Luke, Raina came up and clapped him non the back. She looked like she was ready to go surfing compaired to everyone else. He smiled at Raina's acrobatics. "Don't count on it girl." Streak yelled back at her as she ran past him. He watched her little stunts and thought And people say I show off? I didn't even start the game. He waited until Sam had made a little presentation followed quickly by Nika egging everyone on to participate in the simulation.
Streak picked out a couple of orbs floating around looking for people to capture. He ran around to one of the foot ledges and pushed off it, sending him into the air. He picked out the orbs and formed two knives, one in each hand. Taking aim quickly, he threw the knives at the orbs. Each hit the tarbets, hard, sending them back and sticking them into the wall.
A thrid orb had snuck up behind Streak and fired a net at him. He heard it fire and spun in the air. Streak's instincts kicked in and he formed a sword quickly in his hands. Swinging the sword with ease, his sword sliced the net in half. Silver Streak landed nextt to Raina and said, "Now that's how you dispose of orbs."He indicated the two that were currently stuck to the walls of the Danger Room. Some protection will be erquired for him, but he was going to save that for later to surprise the orbs with. No sense bringing out all his tricks in the first minute. "Come on guys don't let us have all the fun." He said to the remaining gaggle of mutants who hadn't gotten any of the orbs yet.
Nika just missed being tagged by one of the orbs. Close. 'Come on team, let's do this together.' Would it take the X-Men to start things off properly? Tricity rolled her eyes with a smirk, hearing Streak's remark to the others after disposing of two orbs. Her attention than flickered over toward Garrett. 'What exactly is he doing?' she thought, squinting amongst the chaos to get a better look. Impossible to tell.
Maybe she would have to 'motivate' them...
Tricity picked up on the energy of four orbs in the room and quickly took control of them. She sent them at incredible speed toward Raina. She wouldn't be able to stop or avoid all of their attacks. Someone would have to help... 'No offense, hun. You know what I'm doing...'
As the orbs continued down on Raina, Tricity sent them in a ferocious spin which shot out the pellets simultaneously. In the next instant, she released the nets. It was a storm of projectiles zeroing in on them now.

ooc: LOL oh so mean, such a lesson for the show off
IC:
Raina was busy laughing at the boys when an orb hit her square in the back and she made a not so graceful fall forward. "Ack!" she half laughed half whailed. OK, so Tricity wasn't all fun and games, point taken. She hitched around seeing others coming at her and let out a shrill note again, and the little bugger dodged. She raised an eyebrow. "Smart little things." she mumbled and started running gaining speed. Without warning another orb smacked her in the back of the head "Mother of-" and another one in the stomach.
One more came at her but she somersaulted out of the way. "Point taken point taken!" she yelled waving her hand in the air like a white flag. "guys? A little team work?" she asked ducking to avoid another.

The moment Luke caught the staff that Streak had formed for him he twirled it experimentally, getting a feel for his new weapon. Lighter and seemingly stronger than the staff he normally carried the blind man found himself whistling in appreciation.
"Any chance I can keep this when we're done?" He muttered in admiration before suddenly throwing himself to the side as he rolled and avoided a net that one of the orbs had shot toward him. Turning toward one of the walls Luke ran toward it, leaping in the air and planting his foot against the wall before pushing himself off in a back flip that somersaulted him over another of the orbs, avoiding the lasers that shot through the air. It was more difficult for Luke than probably anyone else in the Danger Room to avoid the lasers due to the fact his sonar couldn't actually pick them up. He had to just guess by the pattern of the orbs where the lasers were being shot and how many might actually be hitting him.
Swinging his staff swiftly Luke barely missed one orb that was passing nearby before he somersaulted and rolled into a crouched position. Being able to monitor all the orbs at once with his sonar was a blessing but something had just changed... the pattern of the orbs was off. Several of them had broken from the pattern and were rushing straight toward the elemental fighters.
"Raina!" Luke thought, his body suddenly moving on automatic. Springing forward the blind man took off a dead run, his face grim. Holding the staff tightly in his right hand he suddenly threw the weapon forward, using it like a larger version of his baton. While not quite as fast as the smaller baton it was still powerful enough to smash the orb that was trailing behind the other three. Right then the nets fired and Luke knew there was no way he could get Raina out of the way. With his abilities there was only one choice. Summoning on the strength in his legs he lept forward arms outstretched as he grabbed onto the nets, forcing them to entangle just him instead of the rest of the team. Falling to the ground Luke rolled, his body becoming even more enmeshed as his sonar picked up two of the various orbs that had suddenly stilled, apparently focusing on him.
"The more powerful team members need to stick around to take out the orbs." Luke thought to himself as a buzzer sounded, announcing his 'death'. Instead of trying to stand up and hop toward the outer line Luke instead threw himself into a roll that would allow him to travel much faster, although probably much sillier looking.
She didn't like them. The orbs were buzzing around like flies except that they were really too awkward to be aerodynamic. Ghost frowned as everyone seemed to scatter. Hadn't Tricity said this about working together? "Hey guys, I have an idea." She spoke to her fellow elementals, well... the ones who were left anyway.
An orb zipped toward her head, but she ducked, her senses were sharp enough that close ranged attacks were no good. And Tricity had said that they learned? "Everybody get ready for some free shots! This may only work once!" Ghost's voice boomed through the room, reverberating through the air molecules. Ghost darted into the fray and raised her arms. This would probably only work once if they really learned and learned well.
The air started swirling. The orbs all seemed to be buzzing about at a safe distance above their heads for the most part and that distinction made this easier. Somewhere between 8 and 10 of them were caught in her vortex because they trespassed on her domain: the air. She slung them around for a bit and pushed them to be grouped closer and then the swirling stopped. Their sensors seemed momentarily disoriented because they all blinked and whirred as Ghost increased the pressure around them holding them still at an easy level to reach near the ground.
Ghost, herself, wasn't moving much and made for a relatively easy target, but if she went down it would be worth it since she'd helped her teammates.

Sam watched as most of his future teammates took out some orbs. He smiled noticing what some of the ones he never spent time with could do. But his main focus came on Raina, as she was being bombarded with pellets and watched as three nets were shot at her Sam blinked as he saw a courageous ‘Luke’ run and take the nets and then get hit by a beam from the orb, a loud beep sounded indicated his death as he rolled off which was made the heroic act all that better. ‘Either Luke is suicidal or him and Raina have something going on… or probably not this is just a simulation, either way I am gonna give him a pat on the back’ thought Sam as he noticed that the bots were in fact learning as they zoomed about like buzzing bees.
"Hey guys, I have an idea." "Everybody get ready for some free shots! This may only work once!"
Sam’s ears twitched as he hopped closer back to Ghost as she used her power a way he could never imagine seeing the ghost he knew do. He watched in awe as close to 10 bots were held in striking distance near her. Sam motioned for his minions as they all ran towards her and the immobilized bots Sam was almost upon them as he noticed a small spec form on Ghost’s back, Sam was no where near the bot with the laser so he only had one option.
Sam ran as fast as he could as he jumped on a small slide that formed heading straight for Ghost. Sam was at a perfect angle as he swooped by and said, “Ghost heads up!” Sam grabbed her in a cradle carry where one hand was on the back and the other was under the legs and sped off away from the position she was moments before and where the red dots of doom were. Sam’s minions shattered instantly as Sam sped off out of the radius before they could follow resulting in their death. Sam smiled at the fact that he saved his friend, “Think this counts as me saving your life,” Sam said teasingly.
