The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He smirked as he leaned back. He held out the small word that he had whispered near her ear and watched as she prodded it. It was solid alright. Maybe not the strongest thing in the world but it was solid enough to prove that it was real. The twinkle in her eyes as she looked at him made him grin all the wider. She had a real appreciation for the power that he displayed. Akshay never thought it was that awesome, there are cooler mutant powers in the world, but he liked that she appreciated it. It just made him smirk all the wider.
>> "Oh, I think it's cool."
Oh yeah…she wants me… he thought.
He shrugged a little humbly. When it came to his powers, it was probably the only time that he was really humble. Yeah he could create a pretty word or two but it was not as impressive as all that. But the look in her eyes as she peered at the word he created made his heart sing. Someone out there did appreciate his gifts.
Heh…that was a first…
“I’d give it you,” he said with a shrug. “but it doesn’t last all that long. A day at most.”
He sighed and reached up, plucking the word DAY out of the air. He set that down onto the counter. Was there a connection between that coffee buzz aura this girl had and why he couldn’t wrangle in his powers? If she was making him jittery then it was very possible that he was not in control of his powers…
>> "So...Does dis always happen when you speak?"
He nodded.
“Yeah but usually I have a better control of it,” he said, taking a preemptive wave to send away any other words that formed while he spoke. “But it is just nouns. Any other word I’m fine.” he smirked (After another wave through the air), “And I can even see the words you say. Well, nouns anyways. And I must say, they are just as beautiful as you.”
He said that with a slight blush. Akshay always fancied himself a playa, but deep down he still tended to act shy around pretty girls.

He tilted his head as he waited for her to answer. Akshay was that type of guy to blatantly ask if an interesting person were in fact a mutant. He loved mutants, he truly did, even though he usually tried to keep his own powers hidden. Hey, there was a difference between reverence and stupidity. He did not want anyone to judge or come after him just because he couldn’t keep his mouth shut about being a mutant. Therefore, he chose to be subtler about his true identity.
But this, he just randomly ran into another mutant by chance? A gorgeous, blonde, kind, sweet young female with an accent to DIE for, mutant on top of that?! Akshay could not stop counting his lucky stairs. This had to be fate. There was no other way around it.
>> "Yes…I have an aura. It's like... coffee. Dat's what you have been feeling. Sorry, I can't turn it off."
He listened to her describe her powers. An aura? A COFFEE aura? That. Was. SO. Frickin’. COOL! He wanted to contain his excitement, he really did, but it was so hard. When was the last time he had actually spoken to another real mutant? He simply could not remember. That only added to the plethora of reasons why he was so excited to speak to this woman.
Definitely, soulmates!
“That is sooo awesome!!” he said giddily, trying to keep his voice down so that he didn’t alert to other two boys in the store. “I love mutants! And not just because I’m one too!”
He cast a glance over to the kids. When he noticed that they were still enraptured with the comic that he had signed for them, he turned his gaze back to the woman. She had shown him her’s (well TOLD him anyways) so it was only far that he did the same. After all, it takes guts to tell a complete stranger you’re a mutant. Even if that stranger is your soul mate.
He cleared his throat as he cast another look at the kids before he grinned enthusiastically at the woman.
“If I may?” he asked for permission first. When given he leaned in close to whisper in to her ear, not touching her though. That would be rude. Just outside of her ear (framed by her magnificent smelling hair) he whispered… “Goddess…”
Instantly just above her ear, he grinned as the word began to form. Before long it was completed and he reached up, plucking the word out of thin air and smirked as he presented it to her. The black bordered word “GODDESS” was no bigger than an index card but it was clear as day what it said. The white, iridescent simply radiated with sparkles, like sand on the beach, yet it was smooth to the touch. He smirked as he held it out for her to touch. It was real enough.
“Definitely not as cool as a coffee aura…but…well…there you are…” he said with a grin. While waving away the words “Coffee” and “Aura” that attempted to form between them. For now, he simply waited for her reaction…

Akshay was indeed enjoying the show. He watched as women jogged (had to be some sort of group run) and continued to sketch down various forms of the body. Not that he was some creepy observer or something like that, but he did vastly appreciate the female form. The supple bodies, the tight musculature, he used many drawings like this when he was designing the body for the main character of his comic book “Slaggathor”. As a matter of fact, if you looked like issue 3, panel 6, on page nine, that body positioning actually belonged to a lovely blonde that he witness one day doing yoga in the park.
God…Blondie…how he wished he could run into her again…
But as he sat there, thinking back to “lost loves”, a sudden sight managed to pull his attention back to reality. He blinked from his blank staring and shook his head as he noticed something moving swiftly down on the trail.
Tilting his head, the first thing he saw were the angry or confused looks of the various other women who were jogging on the trail. They obviously did not appreciate the fine and supple form of another earthly goddess as she ran, easily leaving them behind in her dust. It was truly a magnificent sight to see these usually uptight and prissy woman so easily out staged.
But who was the culprit?
He tried to look ahead. It could be any of the other runners: the woman with the tight black hair, the messy haired blonde, the mom with the jogging stroller, WOLF-TAIL…
Ahem…
He retraced his gaze and found a gorgeous redhead…with a wolf tail that wagged, as she ran and easily outpaced absolutely everyone who was running behind her. It was truly a beautiful sight to behold. But damn, she did scare him. There was sheer ferocity in her form…so much so that he had to capture it on paper.
Before he knew it, he was following her with his eyes while his hands blindly drew her as she ran…

She seemed almost hesitant to accept the gift. He really was just giving it to her because he felt that either herself or her friend would enjoy the comic book. After all, he doesn’t really get THAT much of an earning out of a single book, so it was no big deal for him to do. Besides, if he gave away one and they liked the others, then he was home free! They would get hooked in order to buy more of them! So in a way, he was making money rather than losing it.
But one look at her and he knew that she was suspicious. He really did not want to come off as some kind of scuzbag for treating her to a gift and then demanding her phone number in return. Really, he was not that kind of a guy. As attracted as he was to her, he was not going to demand anything from her. In due time, she would be unable to resist and will fork over her number and a classy photo for him to hang on his wall.
It was going to work out perfectly.
>> "Yeah…Yeah, sure. I think dat is all. And... thank you, for the gift, That is really nice of you."
“Eh,” he said with a grin and waved his hand dismissively. “Don’t worry about it.”
He was a kind a giving man. Yes! Check that off the Mighty List of Awesome that she was surely carrying around inside of her head. He knew she was checking him out and it was all good. His generosity, mixed his with dashing good lucks, were sure to score him high on the “Hot Stud-o-Meter”!
Heading back to the counter, he began to ring up the stack of purchases that she was buying for her friend. She really must indeed be a good friend in order to buy so many comics for. Kinda made him wish that he had had her as a friend when he was in high school. Probably would have made everything so much easier.
But as he started to ring her up, he shook as a particular powerful jitter ran throughout his body. He really, REALLY needed to stop drinking so much coffee.
>> "I'm sorry…The buzz, that's me. It will go away when I leave."
He arched a brow. The buzz? That was her? What could that possibly mean. He only smiled and nodded at her as he started to bag and board her purchases when it began to dawn on him. The buzzing was caused BY[/b] her? As in…she had…powers…?
He tilted his head as he turned to look at her, a small flicker of amusement in his eyes.
“You?” he gently lowered his voice. “You, uh…you’re…special?” he asked cautiously. If she were a mutant, she would know what he meant…

In the middle of a particularly complicated, yet impressive turn, Akshay accidentally felt his elbow brush against one of his fellow dancers. But hey! It’s all good! All is fair in the love and war, right? If anything his fellow dancer would have simply laughed it off and cheered him on to continue his augmented Charleston dance, when he heard, instead of praise…anger? There was no way that that was right but the sound and tone was so shocking that he had to listen in…
>> “Hey! Watch it!”
He blinked as he turned to face the owner of that voice. A smile on his face, he locked eyes on a woman that was looking particularly embarrassed. His heart panged in sadness. Maybe she was embarrassed because she didn’t know how to dance and was attempting to brave the dance floor? Poor thing! He would definitely have to take her under his wing.
Not that it was any particular trial do so. She was rather attractive so that added greatly in her favor. He wouldn’t give up on her! No! She would be Jennifer Grey and he would be Patrick Swayze! The dance shall be their language of love! And he was even DRESSED the roll in an unbuttoned white shirt and black slacks!
He grinned, not in a creepy way or overly disturbing, and looked at her with an approving nod.
“Aww babe, don’t worry. No need to be shy,” he said as he noted the embarrassment on her face. “The dance is a language that ANYbody can learn. And I’ll be happy to teach you!”
His voice was enthusiastic, the look on his face mirthful, and it was obvious that he was fairly limber due to the extravagancy of his dance moves. All in all, he looked purely and truly honest when he spoke to her, as a truly nice guy does.
He laughed as he switched into an energetic Salsa dance that in no way fit the music that was playing and waved for her to join him.
“Come on! The waters great!” he said with a laugh. Ah Akshay…such the lady killer…

He showed her his comic book. His pride and joy, the source of all his fear and anxiety, and low and behold…she smiled. That grin upon her lips, those perfect teeth, the rise of her cheeks, the twinkle in her eyes, it only made him fall for her all the more. She had to be a goddess, a divine being come down from the heavens for the sole purpose to showing him the beauty and bounty of the higher beings, and that even he too could be loved. After all, why else would someone as gorgeous as her walk into his comic store and ask his opinion on comics?
Love at first sight? Heh, love at first issue.
He beamed all the more brightly. This would be the story they that they tell their many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many grandkids.
>> "Nice…You do all dis? That's amazing..."
“OH, heh, why thank you,” he grinned he rubbed the knuckles of his hand onto his shirt in a nonchalant way. “Was a fun…” he almost said another noun. He grumbled before he cleared his throat. “It was fun!”
He would sell it to her more but for whatever reason his abilities were on the fritz. The last thing he wanted to do was to terrify his bride-to-be with his a word suddenly conking her on the head. So he minded his words extremely carefully.
But ooooooh how his mouth wanted to ramble. The sound of her voice was absolutely lyrical, especially with the sexy accent that she sported.
“You know what, I’ll give you that….” he motioned to his own comic in her hands. “Call it a…promotional offer.”
He beamed…as another word began to form near her. Suddenly he stepped, pretended to trip and flew past her, flailing away more letters that threatened the appear. He sighed. This was beginning to get ridiculous!
“So, ugh, will that complete…um…” he said motioning to the comics, wondering if that was everything she was going to buy so he could lead her to the cash register.

Down in the some of the darkest and more unseen sectors of the city, there is a large, brick building that long ago had been abandoned. Over the years the building fell into disuse and fewer and fewer people ever stopped by to look at the place. After all, who would want to rent this space, much less buy it? But as time passed, so did the views of people. Especially those that were part of the dance and music scene. Before long the space was found out to be perfect for a dance club, one that would draw only the most serious of clubgoer due to its location…and how you got in.
Though outside the music could be heard practically throwing itself against the walls and flashes of light could be seen in the windows high above. Yet, though the music pulsated and the lights were hypnotizing, it was difficult to get in.
Against one wall stood a bouncer, a large, dark skinned man with his tree trunk arms crossed over his massive barrel of a chest. Before he him guarded a line the most stalwart of club hoppers, young people dressed in all sorts of attire, and each of them scrambling for entrance into this exclusive club. But there was only one way in…
…through the hole.
An old exhaust pipe was used as the entrance. It was huge, easily the size of a large man crawling on al fours. The very sight of it brought inspiration to the owner when he saw it. Which was why he named the club: The Hole in the Wall
Yeah, moment of brilliance there.
But inside the club he really spared no expense. Dance floors on two levels, bars at each corner of the interior and plenty of shadowy places and corners for people to chat, watch, or make-out. The place was richly decorated, everything done in the most expensive manner for the simple illusion of making each and every single of the club’s décor looked secondhand and rundown. Little ironic but it was worth it for the effect.
Out on the dance floor, though, was where the real action was. Bodies pressed together, danced atop a lit floor that shined with a riot of colors at each of their steps. But it was near the center of this dancing that a single man was smirking and laughing wildly as he the music really began to swirl around him. Though he had some talent to be passable at dancing, the man was far too much of a goofball to be taken seriously.
But hey, Akshay didn’t care. It was his night off from the shop, he got more drawing done then he thought he could get done, he deserved just a little bit of a break.
What better way to take a break than to dance?!
“Oh yeah! Watch out!!” he cheered as he began to do a variation of the Macarena, instilling a few laughs from nearby dancers. But he didn’t care. He naturally assumed they were laughing with him, not at him. “Woooo! Christ Brown eat your heart out!!!” he cheered as he then shifted (Dear lord…) into dancing the Funky Chicken.

Akshay stood expecting, watching the young woman as she poured over the collection of comic books that he had handed to her. He had to admit that they were not his best choices, but given the circumstances, he worked with what he had. Personally he liked the superhero stuff, but he was not going to impose his viewpoints upon her. Instead he merely stood back and let her survey the cornucopia of titles that he had pulled for her. A girl who liked mutant stories, she outta like those.
>> "Better? Um, yeah…I am still not sure what she likes, but I have a feeling she will like mutant stories."
He nodded with a winning smile. She had such pretty words…
Ahem. Anyways, he was sure whoever this person was that the young beauty was buying for would love what he chose. After all, he was the expert in this situation and seeing as how he wanted to impress this absolutely gorgeous woman, he would only display his best.
“Well, if anything, she outta love those,” He said with a grin.
>> "So, which one is your favorite?"
The word “LOVE” began to formulate behind her and quickly he slid around behind her. Not in a creepy way. Oh, Not. At. All. Once he was behind her, he quickly waved away the word that had begun to form and ignored the two boys that were still watching them. They were still looking in awe.
He returned to the last question that she had asked. It was time to bring out the big, impressive guns. With a grin he reached out and very casually plucked out the “Slaggathor” comic that he had given her early.
“Personally…this,” he said with a nod. “And, ahem,” he grinned as he turned the book around to show his picture on the back. Yes, he was the writer and artist behind the comic.
He posed, just as he did in the picture.
She didn’t have a chance of resisting him anymore…

The kids were snickering…and Akshay wanted to throw something at them. Maybe he could form a nice, large HAM and hurl it into their faces. But he managed to keep calm. Despite the slight jitter he had (Did he drink too much coffee this morning?), he managed to keep his cool. He was not going to lose it around this absolutely beautiful woman. He was far better than that. Still that headache was pounding in the back of his head. Why didn’t that one want to go away?
He sighed though as he looked back to her. She was eyeing all the selections closely, picking out which ones seemed the most interesting to her friend. He wished that he knew at least a little bit of information about exactly who it was that this goddess was buying for. If he knew just one comic that she read then he could definitely set up a proper list for her. At least more options than just blindly running around the store and picking out random titles.
But as he stood back and waited for her to finish going through the rest of the titles he had handed her, and listening to the other two kids who were still watching the scene, as if waiting for more words to appear, suddenly a look seemed to dawn over her face.
It was a look that said, to him anyways, only one thing…
…she had realized that he was her soulmate. How lovely that she had that dawn of inspiration here in the comic store!
>> "Do you have any about mutants?..."
…
Mental grumbling!!!
But his face was all serenity and calm.
“You know, I think we do,” he said with a confident nod. “Follow me!” he said cheerily as he lead her down the rolls and began to pull more comics.
At least now there was a central theme to focus on…mutants. As he walked he began to pull fewer titles including “Muck-Dude”, “The Mini-Skirt Adventures of Old Steal”, and of course “The Buggavenger”. He turned to her with another winning smile.

>> "I am not sure"
Poor little lamb looked lost. It tugged at his heartstrings. Despite the headache that wanted to develop because of his abilities, he still managed to give her a friendly smile and nod as he waited for her to finish looking around. She was here for a gift, so that was good, but for who? A boyfriend? A husband? A male friend that had managed to seduce her enough to actually go into a comic book shop for him? He cringed inward, how dare they use her in such a way!
First thing after their wedding, he was going to make sure to have a good sit down chat with her about men like that in her life.
But he returned to reality as the second he saw that next “comics” floating up into the air. He blinked and returned to her talking…
>> "I just know she likes reading comics. But I have never read any, so... I don't know what I should choose for her. Can you recommend anything?"
She? Ooo! Well that was a different story. Then maybe his future bride was not being used by some comic nerd to fetch his issues for him. How. Excellent.
The question turned back to him, but not without a little bit of sadness. Never read a comic before? But…how was that possible? Did she live under a rock? But he had to remember not everyone was as blessed as he was to live amongst the great superheroes, demon slayers, and scantily clad images that he had been priveliaged with. It was okay, so she was a comic virgin (tee hee). He would be more than happy to help expose her to his world.
…
…
Ahem.
He smiled and nodded as he listened, trying to not get distracted by the subtitles that were floating up and into the air.
“Well we do have several…” he sighed as he waved to the comics around. Had to watch his nouns! “Some that are good include…” he wandered over to the wall and began to pull down several issues, including Rat-Man, Ladybug Girl, even the latest issue of his own comic, Slaggathor and handed them over to her. “Do any of these look like comics that she may like?”
C-O-M-I…
He growled, though pretended to clear his there as he waved his hand in the empty space of air to the left of her head and made the forming word vanish.
“Woooow, cooooooool…” one of the two boys that still occupied the store muttered as he watched the letters form and then quickly vanish.

The woman was obviously freaking out but for whatever reason she was attempting to keep her composure while in the store. Wow, he would have imagined that a normal person would have run off, screaming into the city after a display like that. People were so prone to not be around weird that they took every chance they could to get away from it. And though Akshay would never consider himself as being in the “Weird” category, he preferred eccentric, even he had to admit that his behavior was odd enough to warrant someone running away.
But she didn’t. His soul mate had decided to stay by his side. He definitely needed to learn her name now.
>> "Dat's okay…I didn't see a bug."
“Um…b-because I scared it away,” he beamed triumphantly.
>> "I am just looking to buy some comics for a friend. You know. Christmas."
So. Many. Nouns! Akshay tried not to appear distracted as he watched the nouns she said fluttered out of her mouth and float towards the ceiling. “Bug”, “comics”, “friend”, “Christmas”, he watched all of those skyblue, black bordered words float upward and drift lazily away from her mouth. Each time she spoke he could feel the pull behind his eyes and try as he might to suppress it, it simply was not working. Once she was gone he was going to have to test his powers to make sure that everything was still in working order.
But for now, he returned to the conversation at hand.
“Oh how sweet of you!” he said with calculated effort. He really needed to try and stop saying any nouns. “Tell me what does your f—“ he paused. Better choice of word, better choice of word!! “Ugh, what do they like? We have all sorts of…” he paused and then simply waved to the rest of the comics in the shop.

Akshay had that winning smile on his face but he was still terrified on the inside. He would feel that pull at both behind his eyes and at the back of his head. Why were his powers so active right now?! He always had such a stalwart control over them but for whatever reason, right now he was completely lacking! He couldn’t sooth the sensation in his head and of course it had to be right now in front of this bombshell of a young woman! What. Was. The. DEAL?!
But, he took a mental break. The incident would pass. He knew it would. He only had to breathe and remain calm.
Taking a breath he smirked at the woman…who looked as if she wanted to bolt from the comic shop.
No woman should ever have to run into him on an off day.
>> "Um... you are welcome? Is everything okay?... I could come back another time..."
He was about to respond when he suddenly saw the word “TIME” flutter out between her lips, those magnificent lips, and gently dance off into the air above her head. Thankfully he knew from experience that she couldn’t see her own words, only those that he spoke if they fully formed. But it was still a distraction.
He trailed the tiny word, apparently spoken very delicately, as it lazily floated upward, black boarded but with a tinge of light blue where there was normally white. Occasionally some people spoke in their own personal color around him, but it was a rare instance. She really must have been special.
Then he blinked and shook his head. Leave? She said leave, right?
“Oh! No, no, no! Not busy at all and all is well!” he said with a wide grin. “So, how can this magnificent person help you?”
P-E-R-S…
The letters began to form in the air to the right of the blonde’s pretty head. He bit his lip, grabbed a board from the counter and shook it at the air that was directly next to where the woman was, just out of her line of sight. He grinned awkwardly as he waved the word away.
“Heh…sorry…bug…”
B-U-…
He cursed himself and swiped the air, again out of the blondes immediately line of sight to banish another word.

Dumbfoudned Akshay continued to look just slightly above the blonde’s head as the four lettered word began to material in front of it. It started with the black border and was gradually filled in with the streaks of iridescent color. But Akshay knew better than this! He knew he was not doing that on purpose, he was supposed to have a better control over his powers! But this! What was going on here?
The word solidified and tittered as if balanced in thin air. The smallest breeze would send it crashing into the ground and shatter. While normally he was fine with it, it was a different story since the extremely pretty blonde would be the one to get nailed on the back of the head. He didn’t want that, obvious…
>> "Um... hi? Nice shop..."
He blinked.
She spoke to him…success! It surely must have been because of his Axe Body Spray! But his face remained simply friendly as he turned to face her with a with a grin…only to have it evaporate. The word “RING” had been nearly fully form. Uh, no. He was not going to let her get hurt because of a stray word!
That was why, despite how comical it looked and despite how psychotic he may look as well, Akshay suddeny flung himself at the woman, hands flailing in the air above her head.
The word began to vanish…
…But not without the cost of him looking silly and probably scaring the hell out of the beautiful blonde.
When he was done swiping the word away, he turned back to the blonde and beamed a winning smile.
“Thanks!” he finally added with flourish. God he hoped she wasn’t too freaked out from that “smooooooooooth” work he did trying to make that word vanish…

Akshay loved Central Park, especially in the mornings. The scent of the dew clinging to the grass, the cool breeze as it maneuvered around the trees, even the sight of the light as it slowly rose up over the distant buildings; they all combined to show him a world that he was truly in love with. Well, that world and the world of the early more work-out crews. Jogging through the paths, doing tai chi, circuit training, all of it was just so energetic and so magnificent that it had this extremely addicting quality that he simply could not shake.
Not that he joined in, or anything. Hah! That was a laugh. Akshay did work out on occasion (he was a pretty good runner), but there was just simply no way that he was going to do anything like it out here in public. He had too much self-respect for that.
But that didn’t mean that he couldn’t enjoy watching OTHERS[/b] work-out. As a matter of fact it could be quite inspirational…
In the wee morning hours, Akshay yawned. Sitting on a park bench in deep blue jogging sweats, a silver windbreaker jacket, he reached up to run his fingers through his short, black hair. Idly he scratched the top of his head before he turned his attentions back to a large pad of paper that was on his lap. He must had looked rather comical dressed up in exercise gear and yet he was doing nothing of the kind. Instead, he had different endeavors in mind.
Glancing up, he picked up a drawing pencil and watched as the stream of the early morning joggers decided to dash by his position. He paid particular attention to the women, following their curves with his eyes, keeping their musculature in mind, the looks of determination on their faces. Whenever a particular woman ran by that caught his attention, Akshay would watch her, scrutinize her closely, and then set about drawing her on his large pad of paper. It was simply more to add to his Graveyard, but it also gave him a great chance to work out some drawing muscles.
Another look up and he smirked as more women jogged by. The drawing practice was good…but watching was a lot of fun as well…

Akshay smirked and nodded and felt himself getting dizzier and dizzier! These kids, they were just chatting up a storm and would leave him alone! They went over absolutely everything in his comicbooks, everything that he had written and drew and dissected each and every single bit of it, as if testing him to see if he were actually who he claimed he was. Even though his name tag clearly said “AKSHAY” they were still grilling him. It was cute though, at least they were not so easily won over.
“And then, in issue three when Slaggathor is charing at the Orc-Man, how come she did just blast him with a fire spell like she did to the Skeleton Armadillo in issue two?”
“Yeah and in number eight, how could she couldn’t fly with the wings of the Fly-Monkey like she could in issue six? Did she lose them?”
“Yeah, and--!”
“Whoa, guys! Whooooa!” Akshay said with an exhausted sigh and a laugh. “Uh, just, you know, whenever you notice a discrepancy like that, uhhh...a wizard did it…” he said with a sly voice.
“A wizard? But—“ they started to say in unison.
“A wizard!” he quickly announced and tried to return to his work. Where the hell did kids get so much energy like that?
He shook his head as he turned towards the front of the store and spied that there was a woman there, an absolutely B-E-A-UTIFUL woman! Day-UM. Akshay would have bitten his knuckle if it were appropriate to do so in public. Adjusting his trusty nametag, after all she should know the name of her future husband, he casually began to make his way over to her.
But before he even got a few feet, he winced as the sensation he always feared flared up behind his eyes and in the back of his skull. Reaching up, he tried to rub the tension from his shoulder but found himself unable to relieve that sensation. What the hell descended on him? And why now when a goddess herself walked into his shop?
He twitched but tried to keep his composure as he walked up to her.
“Hello and welcome to One Ring to Rule Them All! How may I hel—“ he paused. Looked up above her head as the letters R-I-N-G began to form. What the…
