The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Addy had been having a good day. Great day even. She'd actually stayed at school all day; it was boring but she had been in a good mood. She'd spent the whole day texting a...friend? Yeah friend was a safe word; they weren't dating or anything but they had technically gone on a date, and Addy may have been hoping for another one. The whole thing made her want to smile, and the scary things was, she kind of liked that. Alot.
As it stood, she was walking down the sidewalk with a dreamy look on her face when someone suddenly grabbed at her new leather backpack. Maybe it was her fault that it wasn't slung over her shoulder and she was just carrying it by the strap, but still. Someone snatched it from her hand, causing her to uncharacteristically yelp, and now suddenly there was this whole commotion going on.
She took after the jerk, and found that someone was already kind of taking care of it. That was...cool, actually. Did they just shut down the car? There was no time to fangirl, even though that thought did pass through her mind. Her eyes narrowed as her fists clenched and she approached the car from the other side.
"That's nothing compared to what I'm gonna do if you," she threatened, feeling power surging through her. She'd absorbed a lot of electricity today, and there were people with electronics all around, though...she couldn't feel anything coming from the car itself. It was completely dead. No matter. All she'd really need was a few more minutes.
"Toss the backpack at my feet," the blonde goth girl demanded, blue sparks arcing from her fists for emphasis.

Addy found herself relaxing, even after the mention of her parents. It was actually nice to be around someone that wasn't Veronica; to have someone else that actually wanted to be around her. And this girl was damn hot, too. Wait...where the hell did that thought come from? She felt her cheeks tint lightly at the thought, but managed to shake it away. They were having a moment, after all. No need to ruin it.
"I don't know. Nothing lame about wanting to find someone to settle down with," she commented flatly with a shrug. "Ohhh...so you fancy yourself a matchmaker," she teased lightly. Think you could find a match for me? did not escape her mouth, but it did rattle around her brain. "I mean...it's possible, but he wouldn't be missing much if he doesn't," she said dryly, her tone becoming less interested as her mom came up in conversation.
"Oh, I have a sister! A twin, actually. We're not identical, but her name's Veronica. We resemble a good bit but we're fraternal. And surprisingly enough, I'm the nice one" she said with a sly smirk; she wasn't lying about that, when she thought about it.

"I bet you could," Addy quipped with a roll of her eyes. "Though I gotta say I probably wouldn't complain too much." This girl was interesting, Addy would give her that; hell, she was even looking forward to hanging out with her in the future.
"I don't know about perfect," she quipped, teasing a look. "Not bad though. Don't worry, I'll only zap you if you really deserve it~" she said innocently. Addy's eyeroll at the store owner was almost audible, but she didn't say anything.
"That sounds like fun, actually, though I gotta make a side stop. I've gotta actually go get my guitar," she explained. "Wanna shoot me your number so I can meet up with you?"
Once the number had been given, Addy hurried out of the store and home, upstairs to her room, and grabbed the acoustic guitar out of the corner. She tuned it, and gave it a good wipe down, put it back in its case, and was on her way out of the door.
After awhile, Addy pulled out her phone. 12%. Great. Hopefully she hadn't drained Juniper's battery too.
~Hey, I'm almost to the park.~
She sent the text, then made her way to the park, looking for her new music buddy.

"I'd say you get used to it, but it still pisses me off. Portable batteries help a little bit but I drain those too so it doesn't buy a ton of time." She shrugged. Addy would get the text later, when her phone was on charge, though it was probably for the best that the peach had landed on the cutting room floor. Oh, Addy definitely would have had something not nice to say had she seen Ami put 'Adelynn' into her phone. But she didn't see it, so Ami would live to make Addy squirm awkwardly another day.
"I got chocolate chip cookie dough," she commented, seemingly unaffected by brainfreeze, as her ice cream had already been vanquished. "It's my favorite," she added with a smirk, unaware of the bit of vanilla ice cream that adorned the tip of her nose.
"See, that's cool, your parents have a restaurant. My...dad has a car dealership, and...mom is a defense attorney," she said, the words 'mom' and 'dad' coming out like they were curse words, dripped with venom and disdain as she said them. However, the disdainful look faded into her usual smirk.
"Maybe it will be, though that sounds like I world I'd like to be a part of," she said slyly.

"Maybe," Addy finally conceded. "I do that alot." She shrugged, brushing a bit of blonde hair out of her face as she propped her head on her fists, looking at her sister. She didn't say anything in response to Veronica not wanting to get rid of her, but the soft look in her eyes said that Addy took it to heart; it was something she really needed to hear. Especially from her sister.
"Well, we can't all be naturally cool like you," she teased, and then rolled her eyes at the mention of her eating habits. "Who's sounding like Mom, now?" she quipped, her voice slightly teasing as she looked coyly over at the other girl.
"Anyway, lunch is almost done so what do ya say after this we go have some fun. I've got a can of spray paint in my bag," she offered with another shrug.

Addy could have sworn she caught Ami looking at her, and it secretly inflated her ego a little bit. Hell, after the week she'd had, Addy could use a little confidence booster.
This morning, Addy had resolved to go to the mall and brood a little bit, replace her ruined outfit, and then maybe go crazy with the therapeutic shopping. She'd done all of those, and now, she was sitting across from a girl she'd intentionally wanted to fight over a jacket, having some Milkshake Monarch on her new...friend? Potential date? Ami. Eating food and not quite ice-cream product with her Ami.
Then Ami leaned forward and Addy inhaled a bit. Okay. Numbers. Yes. She pulled out her phone as well and grimaced. 10% battery. "Yeah we better make it quick though. My phone's about to die, and since you've been hanging around me, uhm...yours probably won't last as long either," she admitted with a small shrug. "I don't make my own electricity. I get it from things around me. Can't help it and phone batteries are a freaking nightmare." She quickly typed in Ami's number and sent a quick text.
The text was...a string of emojis. Lightning bolt, stuck out tongue, middle finger. Yeah that would be enough to let Ami know that it was her. Then, she pocketed her phone, knowing that it was going to die pretty soon anyway. She then turned her attention to her Snowstorm, as it were. Grabbing the spoon, what happened next was....well it was a storm of another sort.
The teen electromancer had little to no table manners, as shown by the way she practically wolfed down her ice cream, and then half-ass wiped her mouth with the napkin.

If flirting were a boxing match, Addy would be on the ropes right now, barely able to stand. The girl was completely out of her element; normally she could handle pretty girls just fine but this one was just....ugh. And yet...nope. No. Be cool, Addy. Be cool.
Oh crap she winked. That was definitely a wink. Addy felt something tugging at her face. Oh, it was just her muscles, and she was smiling more brightly than she had in a long time. "Of course...the electricity thing. Could be fun to see what kind of sparks fly?" Oh dear was she still talking about the same thing? Craaap.
"Ice cream sounds great," she said, her voice stuck somewhere between it's usual flat snark and a squeaky excitement. "Milkshake Monarch. Perfect." Was this a date? Had she just gone to find clothes and blow off steam from a few nights ago and come out of the store with a date? And a girl's number?
She practically skipped to the checkout line, paying for her new outfits, and was now carrying half her body weight in clothes. But she was...excited? Oh yeah, definitely. Though after that fight with the Glowstick woman, Addy was glad it didn't result in a fight. She didn't have much of that in her right now. But part of her thought at least if they'd fought she'd have probably had a better chance. Oh well.

"You missed the point. It's not that I'm emotionally more mature, not by a long shot," she explained, rolling her eyes. "I have the advantage over everyone else because you can't get rid of your sister as easily as you can everyone else." She winked.
Addy jumped just a little when Veronica took her hand; that did not happen much. She was sure it was a mixture of just Veronica's personality, and the fact that touching Addy, even without her actively using her powers, always produced this little tingly feeling that made the hairs on one's arms stand on end, like being too close to a balloon that had been rubbed viciously against your hair.
"Thanks, sis. Sometimes I just wish I was tougher." Like you. Addy was soft; her tough goth exterior was just a facade. Deep down there was emotion. There was hope. There was vulnerability and weakness.
The emotional moment faded and Addy sat back with arms folded across her chest. "You are such a slow eater," she commented, finishing her drink as she gave a teasing smirk.

Addy was on defense, and she didn't like it; her walls were down, and she was finding it difficult to get back into that snarky facade she normally put up.
"You have really pretty eyes." "Eep?" Addy squeaked; she literally, actually, one hundred percent legit, squeaked. She took a breath, focusing as she tried to think of things that made her angry and broody. She had to get that edge back, so her mind went through her memories of that brief rift with her sister, through her parents that the very thought of made her blood boil, and of some stupid blonde girl who played with light kicking her ass in an alley.
"Yeah, it is cute. That's why I'll ****ing kill you if you call me that. You're not the only one that likes being called a badass." It didn't work, she was still flailing. When Ami offered her number, Addy squeaked again, this time physically flinching a little bit. Parts of that run-on paragraph were hitting her separately, and the last thing to hit was the number comment.
"So uh...I...yeah uh...you can give me your number and maybe we can experiment sometime....I mean with the electricity!" She stammered, biting her lip as her eyes lowered to look at the floor. This was weird, and she didn't like it, but...at the same time....there was something about this whole ordeal.
"Hey, I think I'm about ready to check out. If you wanna hang you can buy me lunch," she said flatly, her face finally reaching it's normal, neutral, broody natural state. But there was a glimmer of mischief in her green eyes.

Addy didn't want help; she didn't want to be here, and she didn't want anyone to see her like this. Hell, she was going to go home and try to sneak past her own sister. And if she didn't want to deal with Veronica, then nobody really had too much of a chance.
"I'll Sparkle your Twilight if you don't back off," she growled, letting her hand emit a spark of blue electricity. "Also I have no idea what reference you're trying to make there, and I sorta feel like you shouldn't either," she said, giving him a judgmental glance from behind her mascara-smeared eyes. And then....after a moment of silence, something happened.
She leaned against the wall, breath becoming shaky. "Look....if you think you can help....fine....be my guest. Normally I'd kick you in the balls and be on my way but...I don't have any fight left in me..." She hated this; she felt like a helpless little kid. "I was in an alley back there and this....bitch who could turn into light and make it explode and stuff appeared and picked a fight. I...took her up on it, and didn't come out too good, okay?" She bit her lip, not making eye contact.
"Like I said though. No idea what bandaids and wipes are gonna do for dry spray paint and a shattered ego..."
Her nose had a pulse, she was sore in a few places, and her pride was shattered, but she trudged down the sidewalk as best as her stiff clothing would let her. Her mind was clouded with anger, thoughts of revenge, and pushing back the urge to break down and cry. That, she would do when she got home.
"Hey there."
She jumped, balling her fist and letting little sparks dance around her knuckles; she knew she probably didn't look threatening. She was covered in paint, blood staining the lower part of her face, and she looked shot to hell with her smeared makeup and matted hair. "**** off," she growled, though at this point it was more of a groan. "I've had a rough evening and don't need some creepo adding to the bull**** I've already dealt with, alright?"
She scoffed at the offer. "Bandaid? I've got a busted nose, I look like Rainbow Dash just barfed all over me, and I'm in a rotten mood. What the hell am I going to put a band-aid on?" she asked, folding her arms across her chest and still trying her best to look threatening. It...probably wasn't working.
"And yeah, you are kind of a creep, following wounded teenage girls around after dark waving first aid kits at them," she added flatly.

Addy let out a long, audible sigh. "I don't know...I just...I want to be...I don't know accepted?" she said with a shrug. "I know, you tolerating me makes me special," she continued, "But that doesn't count because I have an advantage in being your 'older' sister." Deep down, the word 'tolerated' kind of cut Addy a little. Veronica meant the world to her. She knew it was genuine, but the word choice sort of got to her, and brought her back to Veronica's petty phase after Addy's powers made themselves known.
Shaking off these feelings, she nodded at Veronica's sort-of almost compliment. "I wish I was better at hiding it, honestly. Takes more effort, but...I don't know I just have this fear of being alone..." she drained her drink. On the one hand she really needed to get all of this off her chest, but on the other, she didn't like talking about these things. Addy hoped Veronica never turned on her because if she did, there would be so much ammo the other mutant could use against her electrical sister.
"Oh, because you said stop it I have to now. Why didn't I think of that?" She said sarcastically, her voice showing that she was definitely teasing, something her sister was more than used to by now. "Hey. Perfection takes time," she said with a smirk.

"Oh, so you're gonna serenade me now?" She teased, hiding the blush as she sat back in her chair. Apparently, whatever popped into her head was going to fly straight out of her mouth. Juniper had managed to completely shut down the edgy goth persona, though since Addy had been playing music, the electric teen had her guard down from the get go, and after that jam session it was nearly impossible to get her guard back up. Besides, it was nice to jam and hang around with someone that wasn't in the band.
She didn't know the song, but she listened with a smirk; it was actually pretty cool, gave her these weird, warm fuzzy feelings that made her smile more...genuine and wholesome instead of her usual cocky, sarcastic grins. After it had ended, Addy stood to her feet, standing next to the older girl.
"I'd gladly show you some electric tricks," she said with another smirk, then raised an eyebrow at the country comment. She didn't say anything to that, merely shook her head as that smile dropped to her usual resting face. But she didn't punch Juniper, didn't make a snide comment. No. Instead, she quickly reached out, index finger extended.
Very briefly, her fingertip touched Juniper's butt, producing a light blue spark that thanks to the denim padding, would only be slightly worse than your standard static shock; a trick that was normally reserved for pissing off her sister.

"Well if it goes to my head, you did it," she said with a smirk, folding her arms across her chest and giving a coy smirk. She took an odd enjoyment in making people blush and squirm but that was only because it didn't happen often. Besides, if Addy was teasing, it meant she didn't want to kill--or zap-- the object of said teasing.
But after the handshake, it was Addy's turn to be all awkward and blushing. Crap.
And then, her green eyes widened as Juniper's guitar passed through her head and neck. "Ho. Lee. ****..." she murmured, giving an impressed grin. "Heh, yeah. That's one way to look at it. Not a lot of people appreciate the whole static thing though," she said with a shrug. "But **** em. I guess those who are worth being around won't mind it," she added; this was said mostly to herself, and Juniper just happened to be listening. She stood there for a moment, hands in her jacket pocket, soaking in the situation.
"You know, I wouldn't mind jamming with you again sometime. Good way to stretch my wings and play something a little different, right?" She gave another shrug as a blush tinted her cheeks and she realized that her usual punky goth persona had melted away a long damn time ago, giving the girl underneath nothing to hide behind.
At least the other girl turned around and let Addy have her internal flailing episode in peace. She wanted to be broody today. Why wouldn't this cute jerk let her be dark and broody? She managed to get her face back to its resting face before the other girl turned around. So that was good at least.
And then the girl opened her mouth again and Addy's face turned an even darker red, and she debated pulling the hood of her hoodie up and hiding in it, but she knew that wouldn't work. Besides, it was way too obvious now. And it was suddenly really really hot in here. But she tried to save, and it was honestly effing adorable. At least she wasn't the only one being weird today. Granted, Addy was convinced she'd gotten her edge kicked out of her a few nights ago. What was Ami's excuse.
"Oh, we're using whole names? I'm Adelynn, but call me that and I'll kill you in your sleep," she said, trying to keep a serious tone, and it worked. For the most part. Except for that little smirk that popped up at the end. "Ami. I like it. Though be careful how you toss around that 'single' shit. Someone might be stupid enough to take that as an offer." she teased, folding her arms across her chest.
"Can you make things electricity resistant? Because if so I could test that," she added with a small shrug, trying to hide her interest in the thought of a bulletproof duster. It was failing. This girl had caught her completely off guard and the electric teen was having trouble getting the wall back up. "That does sound really ****ing badass," she finally said after a moment, purposefully keeping her green eyes locked on the other girl's face. Not making that mistake again.
