The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Yeah," Addy said with a roll of her eyes, "'Cute' is totally what I try to emulate," she said with a dry sarcasm and a bit of a scoff. Once inside, Addy shut the door behind her, and before she knew it, Ami's bag was on the floor, hands on Addy's sides, and their lips met.
Addy gasped, arms wrapping around Ami as she returned the kiss; to her knowledge, nobody else was home so they didn't have much to worry about. Besides she really didn't care whether Veronica saw or not.
She shuddered, smirking. "Hot is more like it by the way," she said, leaning in and giving Ami another kiss before taking her hand and leading her quite eagerly upstairs. The door was already cracked, so she just nudged it open with her foot, and practically dragged her girlfriend inside. The room itself was...lived in. There was a pile of clothes in the chair, the bed was unmade, and honestly the most well kept part of the room was where she kept her electric guitar and amp. Aside from that, the room was nice; her parents obviously had some money. There was a TV on the wall, and a a few uncharacteristic stuffed animals strewn about.
But once they were fully inside and Ami had time to take in the sights, Addy was kissing her again. One hand slipped behind the other girl's neck, the charge of electricity likely causing little tingles or making the little hairs on her neck stand upright.

Addy's lips pulled into a genuine smile as she texted Ami the address. Her last text of the night:
~Night! Good luck with the cute little gremlins!~ Attached was a selfie of Addy in her night shirt, tongue sticking out and the hand that wasn't holding the phone was holding up the middle finger.
----
Between her mutation being pretty well charged, and the excitement about tomorrow, Addy didn't get any sleep that night, opting to watch TV or play guitar without an amp instead. She didn't need much sleep, so missing out didn't really affect her that much. After what seemed like forever--though it was several hours so to a sixteen year old girl waiting on a date it was--there was finally a knock on the door, and Addy made her way downstairs wearing a pair of ripped skinny jeans with flannel leggings underneath, a dark blue low cut sleeveless shirt with a leather jacket over it, and black tennis shoes. Her blonde hair had very recent red highlights in it--she'd been bored and done a lot more than just TV and guitar, apparently.
She opened the door with a smile. "Well hey there. My room's just upstairs and to the right, unless you wanted to go straight to the aquarium. I have no idea what you have planned today, honestly," she said with a shrug.

~Yeah, Im free 2mrw~ The reply had read; Addy was lying on her stomach in bed, not really doing much of anything but texting her girlfriend. Girlfriend. She actually had a girlfriend, and that broke through her gloomy facade and made her warm and fuzzy inside. The following texts that flooded her phone were of children. Two of them covered in foodstuffs, and an older one that was f***ing spotless, somehow. There was always one, wasn't there?
~Ew. I dont envy u, girl. Not in the slightest. Though I don't see anything wrong with Frozen. Tell any1 I said that and u will die.  :middlefinger:~
She hadn't seen Ami since their first date, wherein they got kicked out of the Milkshake Monarch for PDA, which made her wonder was it a ban or a one time thing? She assumed a one time deal since they weren't told not to come back, but best to stay away from there for a bit just to make sure. In the time after, though, there had been several texts, and while most young, budding couples sent mostly hearts and smiley faces, Ami and Addy shared a lot of middle fingers. Affectionately, of course.
One of these days Addy was going to skip school to go see Ami, once she found out where the girl lived.
~So what u wanna do 2mrw? We always come make--I mean hang out at the house for awhile and we can share art. May-B I can play guitar? Or something else, Idc as long as I get to see u again.~

Addy found herself melting as she sat on the ground, hugging her knees. "It's...it's not your fault. I'm sorry I was a bitch to you..." She didn't have any fight left in her. She just wanted to go home. "T-thank you," she said sheepishly as she took the candy bar, unwrapping it and nibbling on it a little, much like a chipmunk would.
"Yeah...she was. I mean I shouldn't have been tagging that wall, but then she came out of nowhere, talking ****, then she blew up my backpack..."
She took the wet wipes, attempting to wipe her face, getting some of the paint and most of the blood off of her nose and lip. When that did all it could do, she began scrubbing, and after several minutes there wasn't as much paint on her face, but she'd scrubbed her skin raw where it had come off. "Close enough?" she asked sheepishly. "Nothing big, no. Just my pride, but I don't think you have anything in there for that."

"Class project, huh? For 8$ a can? You didn't get the cheap stuff."
Addy felt her cheeks flush pink as the other woman's arms crossed, and she tensed, taking a defensive position and prepared to attempt to verbally tear into this woman, even if she had helped a moment ago. Then...the woman was laughing and Addy wasn't sure whether to let her guard down or put it up farther.
"I...I fancy myself an artist..." she said, a little more confident now that she was sure they were in a bubble of silence. "My powers don't do much either, for the most part. I drain the hell out of batteries and I can give a shock that hurts worse than your basic static," she said sheepishly. "I'll be okay staying for awhile, but with no electronics in the area, I can't stay for too long because electricity is how I get my energy. I only need like two hours of sleep when I'm fully charged," she said with a slight shrug.

"I mean my whole thing is draining energy," she quipped dryly. "Not sure what it'll take but if anybody breaks my heart I'm breaking their nose..." she grumbled, looking down at her empty plate and idly dragging her finger across the crumbs.
"I guess I slept in when they handed out the coolness, but I cut in line when they were handing out talent, then."
She grumbled at Veronica's next words; she was bad at the verbal banter, she had to admit. Though she never would verbally. "I mean...maybe my fists get the point across better than my words, eh?" she said with a shrug, silently conceding the verbal battle to her twin, as she usually did. But one had to give Addy props for trying.
The blonde stood to her feet, wiping her mouth on her sleeve. "Cool. Let's go wreck some ****," she said with a wicked grin, leading her sister out of the restaurant and into the streets, looking for something they could get into.
Addy had opted to ignore the throat clearing, but Ami's reply made the blonde snort; oh yeah, she could tell why Ami had her wrapped around her pinky already. She was pretty, funny, and totally into her.
Once they were out, and Addy made her comment, Ami whispered a reply that made Addy blush redder than she ever had before. "Oh...oh damn..." she murmured, looking away for a moment, though there was an obvious smile forming as she did so, one that Ami might have seen, might not have.
"Oh yeah, totally," she said, looking back to Ami just in time to be met with a goodbye kiss. God she could get used to that. "I'll definitely be seeing you later," she said as she turned to leave with her armful of bags, casting a glance back with a coy smile every now and then until she walked out of the big doors of the mall and into the parking lot.

Juniper...was lucky Addy liked her. The girl was always told she needed more friends, seeing as how at the moment her friend list was just her sister. So...apparently friends didn't freely electrocute friends. When they didn't deserve it.
Once the guitar was in the case and tuned--it was underplayed so she had to make sure it was up to perform. She scoffed at the text. "It's a park," she grumbled, "It's nothing but trees and ben--oh I think I hear her..." she mused to herself, following the faint sound of guitar music. Nope, just some dude with dark hair and a nose piercing. He was exhaling smoke as he played, and it was almost like the smoke was dancing, forming little shapes as it matched the music. Cool, but not who she was looking for. Next.
Nope, just some older dude with an acoustic bass.
Finally, she found Juniper, lying on her back playing a song that Addy definitely did not approve of.
"Hey. Do you know how many ****ing trees are near benches in this park?" she said, her grin letting the woman know that Addy was in fact, teasing. "Looks like we're not alone, either. Plenty of poor saps with guitars to show up. And one with a bass."
Addy was out of her element. The kissing, the closeness, the hand-holding. None of this was anything she was necessarily used to. But...she liked it. A lot. And now for several reasons, the blonde was glad she didn't end up fighting this girl over a jacket.
Ami met her halfway this time, and the kiss lingered. Addy let it. She knew the Milkshake Monarch guy was watching them, she knew they were probably going to get thrown out, but she didn't really care. The one hand gripped Ami's as the other hand grabbed the table and she leaned forward more, eyes closing.
She got so lost in the moment that when she heard someone clear their throat, she jumped and nearly hit her head against Ami's. Did she? She wasn't sure. Standing there was the Monarch guy with a mall security guy who obviously had no chance being an actual cop which was probably how he got here. With that, the two of them were shown the door, and Addy gathered her things with a sheepish grin as they were led out of the restaurant.
"Well that was a hell of a first date, eh?" she said after they were out of the food court and in the main part of the mall again. "At least it was just the one place and not the whole mall? Unless you take that as a challenge..."

"Well, nothing about me is an 'easy grab'," she retorted with somewhat of a cocky grin. "Most of the time guys like that don't want trouble, and aren't usually willing to risk it. They just a quick and easy cash flow," she said with a shrug, before looking over at Mae. "My mom is a lawyer," she clarified, hating using that word to describe the woman who birthed her, but she didn't want to go into that tidbit anytime soon.
"Addy, and I live a good little ways from here, but I can catch a subway or something," she said with a shrug, not really thinking about it as she shifted her backpack, which wasn't totally zipped, and inadvertently caused two cans of red and blue spray-paint to clatter onto the ground and a couple of expletives flew out of Addy's mouth as she stooped down and picked them up, stuffing them back into the bag, that obviously was packed to capacity with similar cans of different colors.
"It's uh....class project," she lied, shrugging lightly.

"Hey, dragon in a leather jacket and a studded choker would be badass," Addy confirmed with a nod and a sly smirk.
Post kiss, both girls were happy, and Addy's face was a light shade of pink. That tough persona never stood a chance. "It was, yeah," she breathed softly, agreeing with her. She shuddered as Ami's hand rested on her own, and she moved it so their fingers could entwine.
"Yeah, but I still think you shoulda gone for it. Worst I coulda done was punch you, she said with a shrug. "But...yeah. It is nice to know you're wanted. To know that someone can want that sort of thing from me, er...you." she blushed deeper, looking at Ami as the silence sort of settled in. Not knowing what to do, she leaned in for another kiss.

"Sure punk rock is my aesthetic, but it shows skill to not be a one-trick pony. Versatility," she replied, sitting back in her chair, having fully demolished her food. "Well, I like to think I'm pretty f---ing awesome," Addy replied with a smirk.
"That much wasn't that hard to figure out, you're an open book," the electric teen teased, rolling her eyes slightly. "Though maybe we can swap sketchbooks one day. Show off a little, yeah?"
The conversation shifted to how apparently neither of them had a clean face, and Addy felt her cheeks blush red when Ami leaned over and wiped her face clean. Their eyes met and they were stupid close.
Ami's words made Addy shift a little uncomfortably, but she kept a straight face and maintained eye contact, trying to maintain that tough persona that had eluded her all day. "You shoulda just ****ing went for it," she murmured. "Woulda been better than asking and ruining it. I should punch you for asking such a dumb question." Her face stayed just as straight and serious, though still a dark shade of red.
Taking a shaky breath, Addy reached out and put a hand on Ami's shoulder before closing the distance between them in a surprisingly gentle kiss.

It seemed, between the two of them, Addy's bluff worked. She couldn't have done anything besides potentially zap everyone within five feet, but she wasn't quite close enough for that, and she wasn't sure what the other woman's power was. The bag didn't quite land at her feet, but whatever. She picked it up and slung it over her shoulder, producing the distinct sound of metal clinking together.
"Oh uh....yeah everything's there," she said in a flat, deadpan tone, not really wanting to have to explain why she had a backpack full of cans of spray paint. "Oh, it's fine. I uh...couldn't have done a whole lot to them, honestly..." she murmured, looking down. "Just give em a static shock on steroids." She took a breath, finding herself in a weird situation now as she shifted her backpack to the other shoulder, producing another clank.
"I uh...thanks, I guess. It's a new backpack. I guess they thought since it was leather, it had something valuable in it."

"I mean...I love my sister, and I know she does too. Sometimes it's just...." she sighed. "I know it's because I'm the more emotional one. People just show affection differently, I guess." Luckily everything turned around with the introduction of the weird hand.
"You should; that could prove useful," Addy replied with a nod as she looked down at her empty plate, she hadn't even left one speck of ketchup, except for the one on her chin. And the ice cream on her nose.
"Oh, we play a lot of punk rock, usually. I play more than that; several genres actually, but as a band we normally stick to the rebellious stuff, to fit with our aesthetic. As much as I'd love to expand our horizons, that doesn't seem like it's in the cards yet." Another defeated sigh. Maybe one day she'd get the rest of the band on the same page.
"I draw a lot of designs, fancy artistic stuff usually. You know, flowers, dragons, decorated hands raising the middle finger..." she said with a smirk. "Maybe if we meet again I can bring my sketchbook," she suggested, blushing lightly at the thought of making plans to see each other again. Wasn't it too soon for that? Was it, who knew?
As she spoke, her eyes were drawn to Ami's lips. Or more specifically...her chin. "Hey, uh, Ami? You got a little something on your chin," she said, her voice more flat and casual, as if she'd just said it had been raining outside.

"I've never really borrowed clothes or anything, no. When my powers surfaced, though I fried her amp by accident. And mine. And our phones. And my TV. And there was a time after that I thought she hated me," she found herself blurting. "Sometimes, I still wonder..." She murmured, blushing beet red and turning her attention to her hamburger, hiding her emotions behind food. Maybe it was easier when they were uncomfortably flirting. At least then there was still kind of a wall there. Besides the thought of kissing her kept her from knowing Addy's secrets. Otherwise she was apparently an open book around this girl.
"They weren't mine yet but after talking to you I realized I wouldn't mind." Whoa. Deeeep blush. That wasn't how she meant it at all...And then some weird thing happened. Was that a spectral hand?
"Hold on. Did you do that?" she asked, her eyes growing wide as she finished her burger and polished off her fries. That was...quite the spectacle, as Addy had zero table manners whatsoever. "That was cool."
She wanted to hear about, Addy? "Well I uh...I play in a band with my sister and two other people; Sonarstatic Rebellion. I play lead guitar and do background vocals. I can also play bass and just about anything with strings, at least a little bit. I like to draw." She shrugged, not realizing that now, on top of the speck of ice cream on her nose, she now had a bit of ketchup on her chin.
