The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Emerald spoke proudly with confidence about how the X-Men would solve everything. Henri would love to believe that and Twyla seemed to believe it was possible. The brunette wasn’t so sure though. Some people change, but she doubted they would. After everything she had seen and been through, she just doubted it. People were too scared of things they didn’t know or that were different than them and that wouldn’t change. At least not easily... They were two different species after all.
The conversation shifted to another question. Ugly pants or ugly shirts forever? “Hmm…I think I’d prefer ugly pants forever. Shirts are usually something people look at right away.” She just hoped they were nasty material, not fitting. The last thing she’d need is her butt looking all weird. It was probably the last thing most girls needed, actually.
Henrietta wondered what the other girls would say. It was a good question, in her opinion. Well, good in an odd sort of way. Maybe more random than odd. Anyway, she shoved a few more chips in her mouth quickly as she waited for the other girls to talk.
He said that he thought that he would like that. Henrietta smiled. "Okay then. That's where we're heading then. You'll have to talk to a greeter." She continued to walk next to the boy. Glancing at him, she noticed he had a sad face. At least it looked sad. Henri wondered if he would be okay. She didn't want to make the situation worse, so she looked forward again. "So Locke, if you don't mind me asking, what's your ability? Mine's kind of lame." She made her hair fly into the air. "It can hold up to 70lbs and it's hard to cut, but that's about it." Turning to Locke again, she grinned.
The two weren't very far away from the mansion. Henrietta hoped truly hoped the boy could find somewhere he could belong. She wondered how many people knew about his power before he ran away. Almost all of Springfield had found out about her's and then her mother decided to send her to New York. The brunette hadn't spoken to her mother since she arrived in November. Their farewell had been awkward and her mother showed no obvious love to her. Part of Henri was hoping she'd recieve a phone call at Christmas telling her to come home and that she was sorry, but it wasn't meant to be. Now that everyone knew that she was a mutant, she'd probably never be welcome in that city again.
Maybe she wouldn't want to go back anyway. As of late, Henrietta was not sure where she stood on mutant rights. She knew she was for them and didn't want to hurt people if she didn't have to. Her opinion had already slightly changed since all some of her recent experiences. Before the girl never wanted to resort to violence ever, but now she wasn't as opposed. She wasn't sure if that was a horrible thing or not. People showed her no sympathy and it didn't make her want to show them any. Henri didn't hate humans, but she was getting fed-up. All she knew was that she didn't want to live her life being stared at as if she was a monster....
“No, I followed him around, but it's okay. It was his idea. He invited me to coffee.” Henrietta couldn’t believe that Twyla didn’t find Van hot. She knew she definitely did. Henri felt herself smile a little when she thought of him. To defend the boy, she said, “It’s not a booger, it’s a piercing. It adds to the punk look.” She looked at Twyla and grinned. Turning the photo around, she showed the blonde the other side. “It’s HIS number. See? He’s got my number and I go t his. It’s fair…”
Remembering that Twyla had news, she set the picture down on her dresser. She would do something with it later. “Well, that’s your big news? I’m curious. Did you meet someone when you were out with Maya/Gawain?” Henri waited patiently to hear her exciting news.
Chris finished the question from earlier. Well, kind of. He asked her again if she’d like to go to lunch. Henrietta smiled at him and nodded. “I’d love to. All of this drama makes me hungry.” Again, another smile. This one had more of a joking look about it. She wasn’t sure if drama was the right word about the situation they had just had, but it sure sounded less scary.
While she walked, she found herself thinking about mutant rights. I don’t understand why they treat us this way. We may be a little different, but nobody’s exactly the same when they’re human either. That’s just how it works. Sighing to herself, she kicked a chunk of ice across the sidewalk. Do I really want to act like they don’t bother me? What about them makes the X-Men feel like protecting them from stuff? I’m not so sure I feel the same as them…
Dragging herself out of her thoughts, she saw a café. Henrietta stopped then turned and looked at the boy. “How about there? Would that be okay with you or shall we continue our search?”
Twyla mumbled something and then told Henri to go first. Grinning, Henrietta turned to her purse and dug through it. Finding what she was looking for, she pulled it out. It was the picture Van had taken of the two of them. She was going to wait to show Twyla until she was done talking. "Well, I was wandering around alone. I was dancing at a green traffic light. All of a sudden this huge FLASH! filled my eyes. It was a boy who goes around taking pictures. I know that sounds wierd, but..."
She handed Twyla the picture of the two of them. "His name's Van. He's a mutant too. He's all stretchy and stuff. We ended up hanging out, drinking coffee, and riding a bus together.." Excitedly, Henrietta pointed to the back of the picture. "Wait until you see the other side." She bounced on the bed slightly as she said this, her voice beginning to sound giddy. "He's really cool and hot and I hope he calls me..."
Laying in bed trying to sleep, Henri found herself restless. She had met Van earlier that day and she couldn't stop thinking about him. She had wanted to talk to Twyla about it, but she was still out with Maya or Gawain or whoever they were right now. She really needed to talk to someone soon. Henrietta had never been good with boys due to her timidness. Something about Van made her less nervous. The brunette realized it must be because she really wanted him to like her.
Just when she thought she may doze off, someone started knocking on her door. She sat straight up and rubbed her eyes. Henri looked at the clock. It said "3:26 A.M." Blinking a few times, she sighed. Putting her feet on the floor, she slowly stood up and made her way to the bedroom door. She unlocked the door and swung it open. "Hello?" It was the only thing she could think to say this early in the morning.
Staring at the figure outside her door for a few seconds, she yawned. Henri then noticed it was Twyla and smiled. "Oh, hey girl. How was partying?" There was something I wanted to tell her...Scratching her had, she tapped her foot lightly. Hmm..."Oh! You'll never believe what happened to me today!" The girl's voice was a little too loud and she heard someone say to be quiet from in their room. "Oops. People sleep, I forget. Come in." Henrietta pulled Twyla in and shut the bedroom door. Walking over, she sat on her bed. She patted next to her. "Pop a squat."
Henri stood to get off of the bus when she arrived at her stop. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw something fall. Bending over to pick it up, she realized it was a picture. A picture of her and Van on the bus. She flipped it over. His number was on it. She wondered when he had slipped it into her pocket, but just laughed. Slipping the picture back into her jacket, she walked off the bus with a huge smile on her face.
Emerald look concerned. Feeling guilty, Henri glanced at the question on the paper again. Maybe that was a bad choice, she thought. Sometimes the brunette forgot how complicated everything was when you were a mutant. She just assumed that she'd always have kids and get married. Well, maybe not in that order, but still...
Breaking her silent train of thought, she listened to both girls speak. Emerald wanted a boy and a girl if they took after somone who's powers weren't so...dangerous? It sounded like Twyla wanted a large family if the planet wasn't a bad place for them to live. Henri could understand that. She thought of her mother. It was wierd how most paths lead back to the woman who had gotten rid of her. If she had known, would she still have wanted me?
The question was then asked to Rapunzel. She smiled. "I would like a bigger family too, like 4 kids. I love kids and I'd like to think I'd love mine no matter what. If they were mutant or human or whatever they may turn out as. I feel the same as you, Twyla. I'd want the world to be a safe, fun place for them to be." Remembering some of her past experiences as being a mutant, she nodded. "Safe at the very least. If they turned out to be mutants, which they'd have a good chance of, the world would have to make some changes."
Juka had pointed the way to the dressing room. Making her way there, she continued to glance around at things. She opened one of the dressing room doors, she walked inside. Turning, she locked it. Henrietta looked at the beautiful dress. She was hoping it that it would look okay on her.
---- After getting into the dress, she stared in the mirror. Henri did a little turn and grinned. "It's beautiful," she whispered. Guessing that Juka would most likely want to see his work, she walked out in it. The two weren't where they had been earlier. Walking around the store, she found them. Juka had helped Noel find a dress.
"That's very pretty, Noel. I bet it'd look great on you. Nice pick, Juka." She smiled and waited for them to turn and see her...
Henrietta was going to dig for money when Van handed the driver enough for both of them. She smiled at him. The two took a seat together. Almost as soon as when they sat, Van took a picture of them together. Henri laughed and tried to peek at the photograph, but the the picture couldn't be seen yet. He began to shake the polaroid photo. It reminded her of part of a song. "Shake it like a polaroid picture! Shake, shake, shake!" She began to dance a little when she sang it.
Looking at Van, she laughed. Henrietta felt her face turn a little red, but it didn't bother her right now. Glancing out the window, she saw another bus pulling up to a bus stop. "Uh-oh! That's my ride!" She turned and looked at Van. She didn't want to leave, but she knew she'd have to at some point. "I've had a lot of fun. Thanks for keeping me company and paying for a bus fee for me...And..." She stopped. How am I suppose to find him again? Part of her panicked until she remembered the school had a phone. "Bus driver, I need to get off here..."
Pulling out part of an old receipt, she wrote where she was staying on it and the phone number. "This is my..uh...school." On the sheet it said, "Xavier's Sister School" and then the number. "I'm sorry. I don't have a cell phone." Glancing at the bus outside the window, she stood up and made her way to the aisle. She turned to look at him again. Henri smiled at him. "Don't be afraid to stop by. You could say they're pro-mutant." Stopping, she laughed. "I'll tell you later when you see me."
After she had climbed on to the other bus, she sighed. Henri truly hoped that he got in to contact with her. Soon.
The boy said he was fine, but he seemed shook up. That was completely understandable in her opinion. She felt the same way, actually. Chris made a good suggestion next. "Maybe we should get away from here before they come back." Off they went once again. He then asked if her hair had done anything like this before. It seemed to her that he was going to keep talking, but he cut himself off. She wasn't sure why until he spoke again, but she'd answer the first bit. "It's only attacked that guy and one of Springfield's local hair dressers."
Chris apologized to the brunette as they walked away. She wasn't angry at him, but at what had happened. Being a mutant shouldn't mean feeling tormented on a daily basis. "It wasn't you, Chris. You don't have to apologize for anything. I was just scared and there's only so much either of us could do." Henrietta looked down at the ground. It was embarrassing. Why did she have to be so scared all of the time? Couldn't she always be brave? Why was it only available at certain times? It seemed that bravery only hit her when it was absolutely necessary. That could be an inconvenience in the future.
"You were very brave." She looked up again. "So where are we heading to now? It's up to you. I can stay with you a bit longer if you want or try to help you find somewhere with lots of water." Henrietta gave Chris a warm smile.
Locke talked about being tired again. He said a church wasn't going to work. Henri thought a moment. Does that means he's not religious or not the kind of religion that attends a Christian church? She glanced at the boy. She could see him not having a religion. There was something about him that gave this away. It may have been because he seemed to not have faith in much of anything. He was kind of negative. Henrietta had a decently positive personality, but she still had her moments. This, on the other hand, was a bit recurring.
The boy talked about his stepmother not talking to him. At first, she didn't even realize he had said he was a mutant. She was about to say something when it sunk in. "You're one too?" Turning, she looked Locke in the eyes. "I thought you may be one. I'm not sure why, but I did. I was starting to think I just imagined everyone that way because I wanted it to be like that." He had started walking away after telling her that he was from California. Running to catch up to him, she smiled slightly. "That is definitely a lot farther than Illinois." The way he had said it upset her, but she now understood why he may be so negative. He was a mutant and that wasn't an easy thing to live as.
Walking next to Locke, she shivered slightly. Oh yeah...I need to find somewhere he can stay and get warm. Not to mention I'm getting cold and tired too. "Locke, what would you think about living with other mutants? Would you be opposed to that?" The Mansion was nice and maybe he could find some happiness there. She had and she knew she wasn't the first. "The place that you'd be staying is very nice and so are the people. Well, at least all the ones I've met." The brunette now had hope in her voice. Maybe she could sleep soon.
Van tried to return the smile, but it was obvious that he was angry. She understood. Henrietta was angry too. They had the right to be, in her opinion. They had never done anything to anyone, so why mutants were considered so bad was unknown to her. All the mutants she had meant were pretty nice and didn’t act as if they weren’t human. They were still kind of humans, weren’t they?
He began to talk about how cool they both were. She smiled at him and was about to thank him when a man with a mustache passed them. Van whispered about how facial hair made people untrustworthy. She raised her eyebrow and turned to ask him why, but it was too late for questions. He held onto her hand and she was forced to run too.
They were heading towards a bus stop that a bus was pulling up to. She let herself get pulled along by the mutant boy. Henri could feel herself smiling and she no longer felt as scared about their contact. Thinking as they went, she laughed to herself quietly. I think I’m getting a crush….
