The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Calley set down the luggage and opened the large door, after a failed attempt to use his hindquarters. Henrietta smiled a little when he complimented her name. "Thanks. I like it too. My mother named me after her grandmother. That just shows you how old it really is, I guess."
>>“What about you? Are you here for classes, training, or just the free room?”
"Actually," Henrietta said, "a combination of all three, really." She looked down at the ground. "A place to stay is probably the thing I want most. I'm guessing you saw my mother's version of a good-bye." She shrugged and glanced up at Calley again. Henri smiled slightly. "She's treated me like that since she found out that I'm not the same as her. It's been really tense around my house since I exposed my power to a full salon of women."
>>“We can find you the paperwork up there, I dare say.”
"Really? That would be great." She was about to ask if he could show her the way there but suddenly Henri was a little disappointed in herself. Henrietta felt a pang of guilt for using so much of the young man's time. "I really appreciate all your help. If you could point me the way there, I'm sure I'll be able to find it. You seemed to be busy before you spotted me. I don't want to be a bother or anything." After looking at the huge inside of the school, she hoped he would still help her anyway.
>>He returned the gesture, with a cape-sweeping bow. “My pleasure, Lady…?”
She smiled. "My name's Henrietta Braun." Calley mentioned using hair extensions as part of her uniform. Henrietta laughed and shook her head to make her hair move slightly. When it did, the sunlight caught hints of natural auburn highlights. "It may not look like a lot, but it took me forever to grow out. My mom was pretty determined to get it snipped off. As you can see, it didn't quite work out that way."
Henrietta lifted up the remaining bag and walked through the gates the young man had opened. I'm glad he's not scary or anything. I bet a lot of these mutants' powers are a lot cooler than moving head-hair. Mental Note To Self: I should probably say "head-hair" when talking about my power from now on. When realizing she was spacing out, she began to walk after him.
She followed about 5 feet behind him towards a large set of doors. The building was quite beautiful and Henrietta caught herself admiring, what she called in her head, it's 'bigness'. After thinking about it for a minute, Henri wasn't really sure if 'bigness' was a word. But since it never left her mouth, she guessed that it didn't make her seem stupid. "So, Calley. How long have you been staying here, if you don't mind me asking?"
Henrietta smiled at Calley. "Nice to meet you, your majesty." She curtsied and laughed. Henri was nervous, but knew that her first impression on people could be anything, since no one really knew her. She was so used to trying to fit in, but after finding out that she was a mutant, she realized she really didn't fit in after all. At least not back home. A random thought occurred to her all of a sudden. "Want to know something weird and kind of ironic? Ironic considering you're dressed like a fairytale prince or something. My friends back home called me Rapunzel, because of my hair being so long. Which is also ironic, I suppose." She thought about explaining her meaning but decided to change the subject.
Looking down at her bags, she realized that she probably would need his help. She glanced up at him and felt a little embarrassed. "Um, yeah. I think I may need to implore you for help. Seeing all this luggage makes me feel a little high maintenance." Henrietta had never thought of herself as such. Her mother told her to pack everything she think she may need, which was a decent amount considering the need for more than 3 or 4 outfits. Like she doesn't want to be bothered with bringing me more things if I need them or something. Though she knew that Springfield was a fairly long distance, part of Henrietta took it personally.
First, Henrietta heard a voice and then she saw the person it came from. The boy with the cape, she thought. "Uh..." For a minute, she had no idea what to say or do. Finally her brain started to help her form sentences. "In? Um, yes. In would be nice. I'm sure I could handle sitting here longer, but I'm not sure I want to. Illinois would be kind of a long walk back too." As she spoke, she looked at the boy's face, instead of avoiding eye contact. Usually Henrietta would be more nervous, but being dumped somewhere unfamiliar by her mother, who seemed to not care at all, gave her some courage.
"But...One thing. Do I have to wear a cape too? I don't think I could pull it off. Also, I don't own much that'll go with it." Henrietta felt herself smile a little, but then worried that she had offended the stranger. "Not that capes are bad, just not what I usually wear." She was trying to backtrack. Maybe instead of backwards in a conversation, I should go forward. "Uh, I'm Henrietta Braun. I think my mom contacted someone here, but I can't be sure. Is it okay to ask what your name is?"
As her mother's car pulled up, Henrietta stared out the passenger window and sighed. She turned to her mother and glanced at her. They sat staring at each other for a minute. Her mother's expression was unreadable. Henrietta could tell that her mother was getting sick of the sighing and dramatics all the same. I don't want her to be mad at me when she leaves. She's already mad that I'm a..a mutant.
"Well," Henrietta finally broke the awkward silence. "I guess this is it. We probably won't see each other for a while and-" Out of the corner of her eye, something fluttering caught her attention. "Uh, mom?"
Henri's mother raised an eyebrow. "Yes, what is it?" She looked out the window that Henrietta was looking out and she furrowed her brows, trying to tell exactly what they were looking at. "Kids raking? Believe it or not, Henrietta May, many people help out with chores. Even if you don't."
Still looking out the window, she pointed at one of the people raking. "He's dressed up or something...Is that a cape?." She stopped and tilted her head. Just then a horrific thought occured to her, what if it was a uniform?!. "Oh no! I can't stay here! They dress wierd. What if they make me wear funny stuff too!?" Her mother then focused on the boy too. "Well, maybe it has to do with his power?" Henri rolled her eyes. "His mutation is that he has no idea of what to wear in public? I'm sure that's EXACTLY why he's dressed that way." She had a very sarcastic tone, but she couldn't stop it from leaving her lips.
After enough coaxing from her mom, Henrietta finally got out of the car. Her mother did as well, and then they hugged. When the hugging had ceased, her mother popped the trunk. "Time to get your things, sweetie." Henri grabbed all her bags and set them on the ground. Not too long after, her mother pulled out of the drive and left her standing there alone and scared.
Henri stared at the school after watching her mom pull away. Now what? She sat down on one of her suitcases and stared at the ground. The grass was turning brown and wasn't too appealing to look at. She put her hands over her face and propped her arms up on her knees. Mom couldn't wait to get out of here. She can't stand that all those people saw me use my power by accident. Her only child is a freak. Realizing moping would do no good, she lifted her head back up and stared at the huge building where she was suppose to stay. "It's SOOO big."
Thanks everyone. I appreciate it, but I think Calley said he'd help get me started in one, so I'll just go with it for now. lol. It'll be better when I get used to everything on here. I've been on other role playing sites, but generally it's really random stuff that people just quit on all of a sudden.
I'd really like to get started on a role play, but I think I'll need someone to help me get around at the Institute and whatnot. I'd really appreciate it if someone would help because the first thing she was going to do was go to the Institute. Her mother was going to have sent her there. If anyone's willing to give me a hand, can you please message me? Thank you!

Visible mutation: Well, sometimes her hair looks really different because she can change its forms and make it move. Henrietta wears only one pattern at a time and pairs things with solid colors. She also loves to accessorize with jewelry and purses. Uniform: She has none, as of right now. Sleepwear: Henrietta wears silk pajamas. They're lime green and the top has long sleeves. The bottoms are also full length. Miscellaneous clothing: She has a navy blue tracksuit with 2 white stripes down the side. It's a matching capri and t-shirt set for when she works out.
Character
Personality: Henrietta is a kind person, but she's tends to get stuck in her ways. She doesn't like to get involved in arguements and sometimes she'll just walk away if she sees or hears one. Her hair is very important to her, as is her appearance in general. She's never allowed anyone to cut her hair unless it's a trim off the bottom. It's not that Henrietta is vain, but she gets nervous of how other people perceive her. Hobbies/ Interests: Track and Field is one of her favorite past times. She loves hurtles, but hasn't quite gotten the hang of it. Henrietta also enjoys dancing. She used to dance jazz and ballet when she was younger at a studio. Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Henrietta's is afraid to die more than anything else. She also fears storms, blood, and the dark. Special talents: (not related to mutation) She's a very good dancer and a decently fast runner.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Henrietta is more likely to lean to the 'good' morality. She wants to be accepted as a mutant by regular humans, but doesn't want to hurt anyone in the process. Her only desire is for everyone to coexist with one another in a peaceful way, which is easier said than done.
Mutations
Mutation description: Henrietta's mutation is the ability to control her hair's movement. When it moves, it sometimes looks straighter. She can make it grab things or use it to block other parts of her body from attacks. Her hair can hold up to 60-70 lbs and is more difficult to cut than average hair. It would have to have a lot of force behind it and be a solid material that's harder to break. Material such as diamond could cut her hair.It is only the hair on her head.
Weaknesses: Her hair can be cut with something much stronger than the average scissors, such as diamond. She cannot make her hair grow or extend, only move what she has. Henrietta also has to be conscious to control her hair. In other words, she can't move her hair while she is passed out.
Growth description
Mutation Growth Description: Henrietta's hair can grow up to four feet, within 30 to 45 seconds. Again, it is only the hair on her head and it's strength remains the same as it was originally.
Strengths: Her hair's reaching capability is four feet longer. It's also more dangerous since her attack range is longer and makes it harder to get ahold of Henri. She can also retract the hair she grew, as long as it is with 24 hours of growing it.
Weaknesses: Henrietta is only able to retract hair she had grown within the past day. It can only grow up to four feet and no longer. She can't keep adding more feet onto previously grown hair. That means that at most, her hair can be around 6 feet, since she naturally has 2 feet. This restricts the reach and means that if she doesn't retract it within the set time, she will have to find a way to cut off her super-strong hair.
Fighting Style (if applicable)
Explanation: She has no fighting style. Henrietta has never taken classes to learn how to fight.

History Of Your Character:
Henrietta was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. She's an only child and lives with her mother in an apartment building. Henri's always loved keeping her hair long and beautiful. She'd never had a real haircut until the day her mother decided to take her to the hairsalon. Trims were done to remove split ends and fix bangs, of course, but removing large sections of her hair wasn't ever done. Her hair had gotten to a point where it could be cut and be long enough to give to Locks of Love. Henri's mother made the decision to give her hair to the charity, since she herself had once suffered from a type of cancer and lost hair. Hernrietta didn't want to object and upset her mother, so she went along with it. At the hairsalon, as the stylist was getting ready to cut the first chunk of hair, she began to cry. The scissors clamped down onto her hair, but they broke. The stylist was confused, so she was going to attempt it again, but this time her hair wrapped around the scissors and wouldn't let go.
After the salon incident, it was obvious that Henrietta was different and wouldn't be able to act like a normal kid where she was currently living. The whole community was in an uproar. Her mother did some research and learned of a school where there were other children who were different. Henri's mother refused to use the word 'mutant' because she said it made them sound unhuman. Technically, Henrietta wasn't a human, but she didn't bother her mother with the details. Arrangements were made for her to live at the school. Henri had to pack her bags and move to somewhere where she could be herself, so said her mother, so that's what she did.
Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?: My best friend, known as Twyla Ashby on Mutant Revolution Online. Do you have any other existing characters, if so who: no Sample RP: Henrietta sat down to take a break from packing her bags. She'd been at it for over an hour because she couldn't decide what to put into her suitcases. She sighed and looked out her bedroom window. Her mother's car was parked infront of the apartment building and the trunk was open. Henri could hear her mother muttering about how long she was taking, but she ignored it and plopped onto her bed. It made a tiny creaking noise that always happened when pressure was applied to the old bed. Just then she realized how much she would miss that little noise. She turned onto her left side so she could look at her clock, and again a tiny sound was let out. It was already 11 a.m. and her mother wanted to get going at 10:30.
"Henrietta! We need to go...NOW!" Her mother's voice could permiate almost anything in its path. Henrietta sat up and sighed again. She'd never been very good at making friends, so of course she was nervous. She had a habit of being very quiet until she got to know a person quite well. Making conversation wasn't always hard though. It depended on the topic of discussion. Either way, Henri knew that this would be a different experience than anyone she's ever had before. She picked up a bag in each hand and began making her way down the steps. When she reached the very last step, her mother gave her the evil eye. Henrietta rolled her eyes and used her hip to push against the screen door so she could get outside. She tossed each bag into the trunk of the car. The car was really old and Henrietta caught herself wondering if they even made the type of car anymore. Her mother walked out and pointed at the car, a sign to get in.
As she shut the car door behind her, Henrietta glanced at the apartment building that she called home. It was old and not as nice as some people's houses, but she loved it. You could tell that it was older just by looking at it. Henri thought that it had character. The driver's door slammed and her mother was in the car. She glared at Henreitta. "We were suppose to be on the road a half hour ago! What were you doing that took you so much longer?" Henri just stared out the window. "Fine," her mother said as she started the car. "We're going now." As they pulled out of her beloved town, Henri sighed sadly.
