The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Dancing it was. Twyla had hijacked the air waves. Henri gave her an appreciative grin. It seemed that the blonde wanted someone else to dance first. The 16 year-old bit her lip in thought. There's so much I could do, but would be embarrassed to do at the same time. Stomping her foot slightly, she shook her head. Nothing to be embarrassed about. This is for fun. You remember fun, Henri. You got this. She turned and smiled at the other two people in the room.
"Fine, I'll go first. I'm not going to start with anything complicated. I figure we can progress to bigger and better dance moves." The brunette smile and then faced away from them. Counting the beats off in her head, she closed her eyes for a moment. Alrighty. What to do? Putting her arms up in the air, she did a single spin and went into the side splits. Standing up again, she did another single spin, some easier moves with her feet, and then did a hair flippy thing in a circle. She laughed and looked at her friends.
"I always wanted to do a hair flippy, even if it didn't fit in perfectly with the rest of what I did. Someone else's turn." Henrietta moved out of the way and gestured to the floor. "Juka, do you want to go next, or does Twyla?" She looked at the man and then the blonde. Takers, anyone?
Brian began to anaylze her dream and Henrietta listened carefully to what he had to say. He talked about how dreams are used to process memories and represent worries. After all this, he apologized if it seemed like he was trying to analyze her. The brunette smiled at him. "Don't be sorry. I totally understand what you mean. May I ask how you know so much about dreams? You don't have to tell me if it's something personal or something." The girl wasn't sure how it could be personal, but you could never be too careful when having a conversation with someone.
Henrietta noticed how exhausted the boy was and laughed slightly. "You really aren't a morning person, huh? I'm not always one, but it's better than it was at first. I've been getting up pretty early for a while now so I can keep in shape." It was true. That was the reason her and her friend had been getting up at odd hours. Both girls believed themselves to be getting chubby, even if it wasn't true. Their perceptions were a bit off, but it made them feel better to exercise.
Henri turned to the young man. "So have you lived in New York your whole life? I just moved here in November. I like it pretty well though." The girl looked across the park at a small group of kids throwing snow at each other. She grinned as she watched them run behind trees for protection. "They look like they're having fun." She tilted her head in a gesturing way towards the children. "We used to build snowforts back in Springfield when we were little. I remember I used to spend a lot of time in the one we made at school. Are you big fan of snow or could you care less about it?" The brunette had begun to realize all the random questions she was asking and smiled, embarrassed. "Sorry. Sometimes when I don't know exactly what to say, I just keep blabbing."
Lenna informed the girl that she wouldn’t have to be in a position to hurt people. There were always other things she could do and that there were different jobs for everyone. Henrietta smiled. That’s good, very good. Not having to do something that I find morally wrong is always good. “I’m very interested then. I’d love to meet this person you were speaking of.” The brunette gave the woman a smile.
Henrietta already felt more comfortable with the idea of making some sort of difference. If she could do something for people, it wouldn’t hurt her to at least try. The only thing the girl really didn’t want to do was break her moral values. Lenna made it sound as if her values could remain intact.
She showed the woman her power. Lenna reacted politely and said ‘neat’. Henri felt like chuckling a little when she heard someone use the word neat in such a context. Most people said ‘sweet’ or ‘awesome’, at least the ones she had hung out with at school.
The girl was a little surprised when it felt like her ability had somehow been weakened. The young woman then offered to show the teen what she could do. Henri smiled at her and nodded. “Yeah, I’d love to see what you can do. Show me.”
Henrietta now had Nate’s attention. He asked if she was a Bear’s fan. She smiled and shook her head ‘no’. “Actually, I don’t really promote anyone, but I will watch NFL sometimes. It’s a good pastime for Sundays. Nothing else to do, right?” The brunette wondered if that would be a good answer, or still frowned upon. Oh well. We’ll just have to see how it plays out, I guess.
Gawain was now asked if he watched football. The answer was a no. It seemed like he was trying to be honest. Honest was always good, generally speaking. The brunette found herself wondering who exactly gets to set these kinds of rules. She felt herself smirk slightly. Seeing one of those meetings would be fun. I wonder if there’s a council or something.
Henri could still feel her friend’s presence behind her. She was curious as to what the blonde was thinking at the time. The girl wasn’t sure how brothers were supposed to act or behave. Maybe this was normal, or maybe these were bad signs. She turned to look at her best friend. She gave the girl a little supportive smile and hoped it would comfort the girl if she were nervous. Henrietta whispered quietly, “What does all this mean, Twyla? What’s the deal?”
The boy returned to where he left his coffee and then walked back over to her and sat down. Henrietta listened as Brian told her that he wasn’t really into sports. “Oh, really? I’m pretty big into dancing too. It’s a good way to express myself in a nonviolent way. God knows there’s enough violence in the world, huh?” The brunette looked down at her ankle and rubbed at it absently.
He had said that she should probably be back on her feet soon. Henri glanced at him and smiled slightly. “Yeah. I’m not too worried about the knee, just the sore ankle. I think I must have twisted it or something of the like.” The girl knew it wasn’t too horrible because she hadn’t felt like crying every time she had stepped on it.
Brian then went on to tell her that he didn’t have problems sleeping and asked if she did. She shrugged. “I was just having some weird dreams. They weren’t necessarily bad. I was a little creeped out when my almost-boyfriend morphed into my mother.” The girl shuddered and then laughed a little. “That was enough to make me wake up. My mom and I don’t have the world’s best relationship either. Needless to say, it was just odd.”
He introduced himself as Brian. He gave her his last name too. She felt a little bad that she hadn’t done the same. They shook hands and then the young man helped her hobble over to the bench and waited for her to sit. She felt herself blush as she sat. Henrietta smiled at him. “Yeah, I was jogging. I used to be in track when I lived in Illinois, so I’m trying to keep in shape.” She laughed. “So much for that. Hopefully, I can run again soon. I’m stubborn, so I’m sure I’ll be fine.”
The brunette glanced at the boy. “Do you go for walks frequently or were you having one of those mornings where you couldn’t sleep in? I hate those. That’s kind of one reason I’m out here so early too.” She waited for him to answer and began to rub her ankle. Nothing felt out of place, but it was sore. Now she moved on to her other injury. Pulling up her pant leg, she checked to see if her knee was still bleeding. It had slowed down quite a bit, so the girl pulled the leg of her jeans back down.
Twyla pushed Henri forward and introduced her to her brother. This time, Nate took a moment to look at her. He said it was nice to meet her and she smiled. “It’s very nice to meet you too. I’ve heard about you from Twyla.” She turned to her best friend and smiled at her.
Her brother’s attention shifted pretty quickly back to Gawain. The girl began to feel like a fourth wheel on a tricycle. Maybe I should go, I’m just kind of here. Henrietta completely understood why Nate was more interested in his sister’s…something though. The brunette had a feeling that if she had a younger sibling, she’d probably be more interested in their significant other than their friends.
She listened to the boys talk about sports. Henri almost threw in that she did track, just to add something to the conversation. It couldn’t make this any less awkward. “So Nate, what sports were you into? I’ve heard you’re quite the sports fan. Packers, right?” She smiled at him. “I was in track back at my high school. I wanted to try out for dance team, but I never had the guts.”
Well, I tried…At least, I can say I made an effort. I hope my face isn’t still red. She put her hand to her face to check. She wasn’t. Yay!
Lenna asked Henrietta if she would use her power to help make the world better. The girl smiled and nodded. “I’m coming to accept my abilities. It was hard at first, but it happened.” Henri looked at the woman. They were now stopped on the sidewalk. “Yeah, I would use my power if it meant making the world better.” This young woman said she knew someone that could find a job where she could make a positive change.
Henrietta wasn’t sure how far she’d take this. If this person wanted her to go around hurting random people, she didn’t think she could do it. Of course, if it was supposed to make the world a better place, it probably wouldn’t involve hurting innocent people. The girl wasn’t sure if she’d want to hurt anyone at all, but was curious about what this job entailed.
“Lenna, would I have to hurt people or is there another way I could help this cause? If it did involve hurting people, would they be bad people?” She continued to look at Lenna. She hoped that she could be part of a good cause.
“Speaking of my power, do you want to see more of it?” Henri grinned at the young lady. She held her purse out so the woman could feel how heavy it was, and then set it on the ground. Bending over, she waited for her hair to wrap around the handle. Without moving her body, her purse moved into the air. “I can lift up to almost 70lbs. with my hair. I’m not sure if it’s possible to increase that or not though.”
The man, Slever, poked Henri’s fork. She looked at him nervously. He told her it wasn’t much of a weapon. I bet it would hurt if I wanted it to…Daimon kept telling Kasumi how pretty she was. It made the brunette feel a little nauseous. He was being such a flirt with her. He then said something about giving the enemy split ends. She tried to give him a good-natured smile, but felt that he was poking fun at her power. Something about this man made her nervous. She just decided to keep an eye on him.
He punched Chris lightly and he pulled back a little. He told him that he wasn’t much of a fighter. She could see that. Chris seemed like a timid person. That wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it could be a problem. He stepped it up when they were under attack. She figured he would be okay if he was ever in a bad situation again. Henrietta smiled at the fish-boy.
Kasumi was a frog mutant? Henri then realized she was hanging out with a fish and a frog. It made her almost giggle out loud, but she didn’t. She didn’t care if someone was a mutant, it just seemed odd to her. It seemed that the group should’ve been hanging out near some water.
Twyla and Gawain both greeted her and she smiled. They both seemed happy to see the brunette. It made her feel good to know that they liked her so much. The brother, however, barely looked at her. Well, fine then. Don’t look at me. Her blonde friend informed her that she was blushing. Embarrassed, Henri rubbed her cheeks with her hands and then crossed her arms. “I am not.” She then grinned at Twyla. “Okay, maybe I was a little.”
Henrietta watched the two males look at each other. Twyla said that they were witnessing nature play out. Hmm, is that what it is? Well, it’s intense, whatever it is. “Maybe we should back up so we don’ get caught in the crossfire.” She was whispering now. She glanced at Twyla to see her reaction so she could tell if it was a good plan for this situation.
Looking back at the source of testosterone, she tilted her head slightly. Guys are so weird. I don’t think I’ll ever fully understand them. She was now wondering if Van got like that around other guys. The thought of him made her blush. God, I need to call him. I really want to see him again. Bringing her attention back to the current situation, she glanced at Nate. The more she looked at him, the more she saw Twyla in him. She smiled. I wonder what my siblings would look like if I had any.
Twyla took a while to respond, so Henri just dropped it. She wasn't sure what she was thinking about, but it seemed to make her a little distant. The little foxgirl was cleaning her tail in a very adorable fashion. It was like watching a puppy. Well, except for the fact that this one talked and sounded like Emerald's youngest sibling. That threw her off a little bit and made her feel a bit like a creeper.
Henrietta watched as the girl flipped on the TV. Anti Mutant Riots... Anger started to bubble up and she felt like she was going to be sick. Actually, she wasn't sure if it was nausea or just plain disgust. The feeling went down after the blonde had turned the screen back off again. She could still feel it though, in the pit of her stomach. It made her feel gross. The brunette wasn't completely sure what emotion it was supposed to be, but it wasn't a pleasant one, whatever it was.
Trying to think about something else, the girl shook her head slightly as if trying to clear it. Chill out. Deep breaths and all that... She decided not to even bring it up again. It just didn't seem like a good plan for any of their sakes, especially her's. Swallowing, the girl leaned her head back. "So, Ruby, do you do a lot of science experiments or anything? It seems like you're pretty into the subject." The brunette couldn't say she was a big science enthusiast, but it wasn't as bad as math.
Henrietta sat angrily on the ground. The scrape on her knee had bled through her jeans. "I just had to trip." She muttered to herself quietly until a young man walked up and asked if she was okay. Looking at him, she noticed he looked about her age. She also noticed that he was drinking coffee. Henri liked coffee a lot and she could smell it from on the ground. She felt her stomach rumble so quietly that it made no noise. Thank God. If it had been loud, I would've been embarrassed. That, and he might've run away in terror thinking it was a giant tiger or something. Inside, she laughed a little.
The next thing he did was ask if she was alright. She smiled appreciatively at the young man."Yeah, I don't think anything's broken or sprained. Just sore. My knee's bleeding a little, but I should live." Henrietta was glad that someone had stopped to check on her. Part of her figured she'd have to sit there for a while until it stopped throbbing.
The girl smacked herself lightly in the forehead. "Where are my manners? Um, I'm Henrietta. I'm really glad you stopped. Who knows how long I could've been here if you hadn't." She blushed slightly and pointed to a bench. "Can you help me hobble over there or something? I think I just need to rub it and wait for it to feel a little better." The brunette felt so weird asking a stranger. In the back of her mind, horrible thoughts of being stabbed entered. Oh well, I'm gonna have to have someone help me at some point.
Noel and Juka both seemed to offer Henrietta themselves as escorts. The girl sighed quietly to herself and then put a smile on her face. "Well, you can both come, if that'd make you feel better." She just wasn't sure what more she could do. Maybe they just aren't meant to be friends. That's okay. I can be friends with them both though, right? Well, at least she hoped so.
Juka asked where she lived. Henri looked in the direction of the Mansion and pointed. "I've been staying at Xavier's Sister School for a few months now. Do either of you know where that is? I know how to get there, but I just thought I'd ask. I didn't want either of you to leave here mad. I've enjoyed hanging out with both of you." She almost added that they should do it again, but then thought better of it. That could end pretty badly, I think.
Henrietta hurried down the stairs. She was suppose to meet Nate, Twyla's older brother and she had taken a little longer than she had intended. The girl had had one of those days where she couldn't figure out what she wanted to wear. Mirror was probably already done there. Jumping the last few steps, she saw the two siblings and then Gawain. She grinned at everyone and waved. "Hey Twyla and Twyla's brother." Turning to Mirror, she smiled. "Hey, I haven't talked to you for a while."
Looking back at Twyla, she smirked. "You need help up?" She hadn't really taken a good look at Nate yet. She had said a greeting, but she hadn't really been focusing on him at first. Deciding it was about time, she glanced at him. Henri could tell that the two were siblings, except she thought Nate was kind of, well really, cute. The brunette thought Twyla was adorable, but this was totally different. She felt her face turn a little red and smiled.
For some reason, cute boys had always made Henrietta's face turn different colors. She had done the same thing when she met Van and came across other attractive boys. Admiring somebody's looks was different than liking them. The girl couldn't help but notice he seemed pretty built. He probably works on their family's farm. Duh... Living in the Midwest, she had seen farms, but there weren't oodles of them in the middle of Springfield. She wondered what it would be like to live on one.
Smiling, Henri put her hands behind her back and smiled. She figured that she'd wait for Twyla to introduce her since they seemed to be having a bonding moment. The girl glanced at Gawain slightly and wondered what he was thinking about. She knew that they didn't really have any family. It kind of felt like Henrietta didn't have family either. Except for Twyla. Twyla was like a sister she had never had. The brunette found herself hoping she'd make a good impression on Nate. Older siblings liked to observe friends and significant others. She knew that and hoped he would approve of their friendship[. Just be yourself, Henri and everything'll go swimmingly.
Henri found herself wanting to ask Lenna if she had heard of the X-Men. She wasn’t sure if that would endanger them or not. She liked a few people who wanted to become X-Men and it wasn’t that she didn’t like the idea of them. It was great for the people who wanted to do it, but Henrietta was sick of no results as far as she could see.
“I wouldn’t want to hurt someone if I could help it. If someone was attacking me or hurting my friends though, I may not be as opposed to violence.” She looked at the woman. “I want to do something to help improve mutants’ lives. I’ve met so many mutants with so many sad stories about how they were treated for being what they are. It’s not fair. I never wanted to be a mutant.”
Henrietta stopped and thought a moment. “I’m glad I am one though. Well, at least I am now. I wasn’t so thrilled at first. I feel that I’d be a different person if my hair couldn’t move and wasn’t super strong. It’s like I’m never alone, if that makes any sense.”
The girl found out that Lenna’s boyfriend had just been reckless. Henri nodded. “I can see how not being prepared to run into danger could turn out very badly. Well, maybe it’s good you aren’t with him anymore then. He could’ve gotten you hurt too. At least if he was acting like an idiot, as you say.”
