The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Twyla made many smiles at Henri and helped change the subject, but not before going off about seafood. The seafood tangent had made the girl grin and laughed here and there. The blonde always seemed to be good at making Henrietta feel better and making her laugh. It was one reason the girl could think of Twyla as her best friend. One of the many reasons, actually.
The subject was dragged back to Henri’s outburst momentarily when Gawain told her she had made a mistake in what she said. He said that his mother told him something important. It was that people should like you for who you are, not in spite of what you are. Henrietta smiled and nodded. “That makes a lot of sense, thank you, Gawain. Your mom sounds like a very smart woman. When you find her, I’d like to meet her.” The brunette was sure that Mirror would find his/her mother. He/she seemed very determined. She could understand that. She was determined to meet her father someday.
Nate said he wanted to see as much as could of New York since he had never been so far away before. Henrietta smiled. “Twyla’ll have to show you all the stores and the subway station and stuff. I bet you don’t have anything like that back home, huh?” She knew they were from a very small country-like town. “I’ll have to come to see your guys’ town sometime. I’d really like to see where you come from, Twyla.” She smiled at the girl. “Maybe I could show you around Springfield.”
Lenna offered to show Henrietta the ropes. She turned to the woman and smiled a ‘thank you’. It was nice to think that she cared, even if she didn’t really. Of course, why would you offer to hang around someone you don’t want to? That wouldn’t be smart and Lenna seemed very smart. The brunette glanced at Slate. He had a weird expression on his face that kind of looked like a cross between a snarl and a smile. She almost giggled, but looked down again and smirked slightly.
He had mentioned a school with both mutant and human children and Henri looked back up at him, with no certain expression on her face. “How would you even go about that? Just not inform the humans of the mutants or would you get children from accepting families?” But, how would that benefit? If they’re already raised to not hate mutants, what’s the point of making them go to school together? She squinted her eyes in thought and leaned back a little in her seat, trying to figure out what his plans were before he had to explain it.
Remembering something else she wanted to ask, the girl sat up a little straighter. “Excuse me, Mr. Swartz?” Henrietta glanced from Lenna back to Slate. “I was curious as to what kind of jobs I would do and if that would make me a Kabal member.” The girl wasn’t really sure what she was going to do. She had been introduced to a man who could help her get a job where she could make a difference, but what would she do if she actually got the job? Would that mean she couldn’t live at the Mansion? Would that make Twyla hate her guts?
“One more question, could I still live and hang out with people from the Mansion? I don’t know where else I’d go and all my friends are there…” Henri trailed off and decided to just wait for answers to all her questions.
Well, maybe Henri could meet two new people then. Slate posted so I think we can figure out that stuff on there. I don't know what character you would want to use, Shin. Henrietta hasn't met him before either. Maybe they could all somehow run into each other or something.
No, no obsessed hairdressers, at least not in the area. Just a very freaked out one in Springfield, Illinois. Haha.
What do you two think about just bumping into each other? That might work better. Like I said, I'm really up for anything. so as long as you two agree with something , I'm all good.
I would love it if Lenna could be a mentor/friend. I'm just wondering what she's supposed to do. I guess I don't know what happened. Did she get a job? What is she? I know Calley's busy lately with Romania. I'm just curious as to where that's going to. That makes sense, right?
Maybe Lenna and Henri could be walking and bump into Abyss. I haven't many action threads, so that could be fun, if that sounds fun to both of you.
Haha, maybe not for keeps, but for a while. ;D I guess it doesn't completely matter to me. I think it'd be fun if she met Abyss, personally. But if you have a preference, feel free to let me know. I just really want another thread to post on. My other ones have slowed down and I come on almost every night.
I've only been getting to post once a day and I kind of want to start another thread up. It'd be cool if there was at least one person Henrietta didn't know in it, but I don't care how many people there are in general. I don't really have any ideas yet and I'm pretty much up for anything. If someone else comes up with an idea, I'm totally game. Please just let me know.
Nate, Twyla, and Gawain were all looking at the brunette. She glanced at them. They looked concerned for some reason, so she smiled slightly at them. "Yeah, sorry guys...and gal." Henri nodded toward Twyla when she said 'gal'. "I was just thinking about what I want to do when I get older. It's not a big deal." The girl stared off for a moment and tried to picture herself in a 'normal' job with a 'normal' life. Was that even possible for mutants? 'Normal'? She wasn't even sure what that word completely meant anyway.
Shaking her head from side to side on the counter, she raised it and then sat up straight on the stool. "I guess, I just had all these ideas on how I wanted my life to be when I grew up and now... It seems like that's not something I should be expecting, unless we become accepted." Her hair began to flow gently in the air. "I don't want to hide part of myself. Whether or not I or anyone else like it, I'm a mutant and that isn't something I can or want to hide anymore. I want people to like me inspite of what I am." Henrietta got very quiet and swung her legs silently back and forth.
The girl plastered a smile on her face in hopes that she didn't get overly intense. Sometimes it's just better to not mention those kind of things, Henri, she thought to herself. It was something she had wanted to talk about though, but it should've waited until Nate left. "Sorry, so what do you guys wanna do now? Twyla, you should show him Central Park at some point. There's some cool stuff in the Big Apple."
The boy said her name was Twyla, the girl whose dream he was in. Her eyes got big. “Twyla?” She only knew one person with that name. Henri’s best friend was Twyla Ashby. “Twyla’s my very best friend. We met the first day I moved here. She showed me around the Mansion.” The girl paused and looked at Brian. “Why were you in her dream?” She couldn’t help but think that it was kind of weird to just go into random people’s dreams, especially since it was her friend’s dream.
Brian asked her if she wanted to go somewhere warmer. She stood and put weight on her hurt ankle. At first, she flinched and then smiled. “Warmer would be nice. I just want some coffee and a muffin or something. I’m not very hungry, but I could keep you company. I do enjoy making new friends.” Henri didn’t know him very well, so she’d just have to stay aware and then she should be fine, right? Right.
Twyla mouthed a ‘thank you’ at the brunette. She smiled and nodded to her in a way that meant, ‘yeah, no problem’. Gawain had clapped for her performance and Henrietta laughed. “Thanks.” Nate explained his popularity with the ladies. Instead of looking at the person who was asking, he stared at his sister. It was obvious that ‘mutie stuff’ had made him begin to worry. She could see the wheels turning as he looked at Twyla.
Both of the other teens were trying to cover their tracks and Henri watched as they did so. The girl had never been in the Danger Room, but she had heard about it and what its purpose was. It was for the mutants to train and hone their skills. She heard that that’s where the X-Men practiced and how you got to become one was passing some tests in the room. Henrietta looked at Twyla and Gawain. She smiled as she thought about them trying to work to become X-Men. They’d be great heroes. They’re great people.
Henri lied her head down on the kitchen counter and let out a quiet sigh. She wasn’t sure what she was going to do with her powers. The brunette thought it would be cool to be able to make a difference, but she wasn’t sure if she was cut out to be an X-Men. I guess I have some time to figure it out, right?
Nate asked what they did for fun around here. Henrietta crossed her arms and began to think. "Well, Gawain's correct about the dancing. Twyla and I jam out all the time. We've tried on each others clothes before." She took a pause to think of some more stuff. "I go to the park all the time. Your sister and I have been going to the local YMCA lately." The brunette looked at Nate as she spoke. She almost laughed when Gawain said something about having conversations in the middle of the night, because it was true. The girl had spoken to Twyla and Gawain/Maya at very weird hours before.
Henrietta got up and went to the sink. She turned on the faucet and put her glass under the stream of water. While talking, the girl had drank all of it without realizing it until she tilted the glass to her mouth. Of course, nothing came to her lips. Standing and looking at the other three people, she began to hum 'Milkshakes' by: Kelis. Turning off the sink and setting the cup down, she began to dance around for a few seconds while still humming. It was kind of random, but the girl wasn't sure what she was supposed to say next. When in doubt, dance!
After she had finished, she smiled, grabbed her water and went back to her stool. "Sorry, I was feeling awkward for some reason." It hadn't been a weird scene at all. Henrietta's danced barely lasted 15 seconds and then she was done, but she was afraid she had looked like an idiot. The girl took a swig of water from her glass and then smiled. "So Nate, I hear you're quite the ladies man." She glanced at Twyla and smirked. It's definitely not our turn to feel embarrassed.
Little Ruby spoke about her father. Henrietta smiled a little. The brunette had never met her dad and her mother did not want to speak of him. She would get really mad and upset when Henri tried. It wasn't that her mother was a bad person, it was just hard for her to talk about. The 16 year-old held onto the thought of someday learning about him. She was sure she would at some point. Besides, if her mother didn't tell her, she'd find out using a different way. This was one of those things a person really needs closure for. Well, at least Henrietta Braun needed some closure. That was a loose end she wanted to tie up at some point in the future.
Emerald was now brought up. The younger girl talked about how she was really into music. Henri smiled at that thought. I could see how she'd like that. The fox girl was asking for the two teenagers' help. Twyla said 'of course' and the brunette opened her mouth, but shut it again. Instead, she just nodded a 'yes' to coincide with the previous answer.. "We can see what we can do, I guess. We both dance. Maybe she could dance with us sometime or something." She glanced at Twyla and gave a small shrug, hoping that that was a good answer.
The blonde made eye contact with Henrietta and mentioned the YMCA. "Oh, yeahhh. We've been feeling lazy and are trying to keep fit and all that." The girl glanced at the clock and then at the small girl. Henri sighed and stood up. "Ohhh, I'm getting old. Standing is ever getting difficult." She winked and smiled jokingly at Ruby. "Well, we should probably be off pretty quick here. I'm really sorry, Ruby. Maybe we can all hang out again sometime?" It sounded more like a question than a statement. She was afraid the girl would be upset or something of the like. "Your sister could come too or something. It could be a lot of fun. I just don't want to wait too long because it's a morning routine." Henrietta looked at Twyla. "So, you want to head out then?"
