The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Van had been truthful and spotted the beautiful golden arches. "Aren't they lovely at night?" Henrietta turned to her date and smiled. She had been joking, to an extent. Any lights at night were pretty to the girl except for ambulance and police lights. Those made her nervous. She had always wondered back home if one of her friends got hurt or if her mother was in an accident and that was why she was late coming home from work. Her mother would run late sometimes, but wouldn't call to let her daughter know she was okay. It wasn't to make her worry, she just assumed her daughter knew that she was fine and safe somewhere.
Bringing all of her attention back to Van and McDonald's, they walked hand in hand inside the fast food joint. She glanced around inside the building and noticed a play place with small children crawling around in some tubes. Henrietta smiled and one little boy waved from a window in one of the fake pieces of tubing. The brunette waved back and he crawled further into the labyrinth. "I think kids are so cute. Well, unless they're tweens. They're kind of creepy and watch people in movies." The girl looked at Van and smirked.
Henrietta walked up to cash register and smiled. The man behind the counter was probably in his early thirties and was starting to put on some weight. He still seemed to have an acne problem, since there were many a pimple on his red face. He looked bored and didn't return the smile. "Welcome to McDonald's. How may I help you?" The girl replied with, "Hello. I'd like a large french fry and a small chocolate shake, please." The man glanced at her and then at the register and typed in some things. He told her how much it cost and she gave him the right amount. Stepping to the side to wait for her food, she smiled at Van. "Your turn."
Brian seemed pretty excited to see the Mansion. That was good, maybe he'd end up making a positive change or doing something great. His power was really cool and she thought that he may be able to do some really cool things with it. Maybe he'd be an X-Men just like so many of the other people at the Mansion. They were really cool. It really felt like a home to her and she had made quite a few friends. It was a nice place.
He let Henrietta walk in front of her. She glanced back at him to see what he was doing. Brian seemed nice and Henri wanted to be his friend, but she needed to be more careful. They walked into the small cafe and glanced at the girl behind the counter. It was the same girl from the first time she had been there and she waved to the brunette. Smiling, the brunette waved back to her. She turned to Brian to explain. "First time I was here, she found out I was a mutant. She seemed genuinely interested, but in a good way."
She placed in an order for coffee and sat down at a table near the counter. She sipped at it as she waited for the boy to order what he wanted. He had said he was hungry and they had had good food the last time she was there.
Henrietta looked at the outside of the little coffee shop as they approached it. It was called 'Bean Franklin's' and the girl couldn't help but to think of the name as cute. She smiled as they walked into the cafe. Lenna went right up to the counter and placed her order. The woman then said she'd found a friend of hers and would go get them a seat. The brunette gave a quick nod to her and turned back to the counter.
She ordered a chicken sandwich and a glass of lemonade. For some reason, she wasn't in the mood for coffee. Or maybe it went deeper than that. Maybe it was because Henrietta became a spazzy freak when she had caffeine and really didn't want to look immature in front of Lenna and her friend, whoever that person was. She turned to walk towards Lenna when she spotted him. He was large and a weird pink color. Her mouth fell open for a moment, but managed to compose herself again before she ventured over to the pair.
When she got to the table, she noticed Lenna gestured to a chair on the left of..I'll call him Big Guy until I learn his name Big Guy. "Um, hello." She smiled nervously at him. "I'm Henrietta." I hope he tells me his name so I know what to call him. Lenna got her food and began to eat it right away. It must've been really good. Henri smiled and then was pleasantly surprised when the waitress came right back out with her meal. She smiled and said, "Thank you." Taking a bite, she made a "Mmmm" noise. It was a good 'Mmmm'.
Van asked Henrietta if girls got all self-conscious about that kind of stuff. The brunette shrugged while she was standing up. Girls were usually self-conscious most of their lives, at least until they became adults. It was just part of being a girl and trying to fit in with all the other girls. "It just takes a lot of us a while to realize who we are and want to be." She wondered if that made sense and if it was as weird for boys. Of course, she'd notice that boys could punch each other and then be friends a few minutes. It seemed that they didn't judge, but went with people who had similar interests.
Dragging herself out of thoughts of girls, boys, and popularity, she turned to watch as Van practically yelled in the movie. Henrietta laughed and glanced at the screen like they had disturbed a live performance or something. She rolled her eyes at herself. It's a movie, not a play. Weirdo. The girl stopped to wait for her date to reach her. She held the door open for him and smiled. "Would you please lead the way, kind sir?" Another curtsy. The second of the night, to be specific. "I seem to be lost as to where I could actually find one of these ...McDonald's?" The brunette had made herself sound confused and batted her eyelashes at Van.
Hmm, note to self: check if batting eyelashes is cute or looks like I have something stuck in my eye. That'd be a good thing to know about.
The couple finished kissing and Van still kept ahold of her hand. She smiled to herself in the dark theater and looked at the screen. Well, movies sound strangely boring after that. Henrietta glanced at the boy and saw his hand stretching out of proportion. The girl laughed quietly at the distorted digits and brushed her free hand through her hair to make sure it wasn't still floating around. It seemed to have tamed down, which was good. Especially because it seemed like a whole bunch of tweens were staring at them.
The first thought that passed through the brunette's head was that she should freak out, but on second thought, the whole situation just seemed comical. Henrietta smiled and waved at the girls. "Wait a few years girls and you might be able to find someone as cute as him to make out with in a dark movie theater." She turned to Van and laughed. Henri lowered her voice to talk to him. "But I doubt it. I mean there can't be any better-looking people than us, right?" She flipped her hair back in a stuck up manner and then gave him a joking smirk so he wouldn't think she was full of herself.
After a minute, the girl turned back to the boy. "I don't know what's going on. Do you want to go get ice cream and fries at McDonald's? I must say the two are a delicious combonation." It sounded random, but it made sense in Henrietta's mind. When bored, get cheap, greasy food. She stood up and stretched her arms. In a louder voice so the tweens could hear, she said, "Well, off to McDonald's. Enjoy Johnny Depp in a not hot role." She waved good bye and walked toward the door.
Her lips and his lips were now touching. Victory! Score one for the home team! Goal! Touchdown! Other stuff that had to do with winning! She felt herself blush and shiver at the same time. When they paused a minute, Henrietta let out a small sigh, but it was a happy one and it sounded like it. She glanced at the screen just in time to see the Mad Hatter and Alice having some sort of weird encounter. He was putting her in a teapot. For some pretty obvious reasons, her mind didn't pay attention to the screen long or even continue to think about Wonderland.
Leaning towards him, she gently put her lips to his again. She could feel her heart beating hard in her chest and she closed her eyes. Henrietta kissed him again, but this time it was a little stronger than the first one she planted. Her breathing began to feel weird and she wondered what it was from. She'd never kissed anyone like this before. It was so much different that just a peck, but it felt right to her. The brunette liked Van and was glad that she had met him. Not just because of this, but because he was funny and nice. Being cute didn't hurt him either, of course it probably didn't hurt anyone.
Her hair lifted slightly off her shoulders and she pulled back a little so their lips were barely touching. The words were formed and she felt their mouths brush lightly against each other. "My hair and I like you." She laughed slightly as she felt his breath on her lips. "Thanks for coming to the movies with me." Henri leaned in and kissed him again, this time wrapping hers arms loosely around his neck.
One minute the fox girl was hugging Twyla, the next Henrietta. She had started talking about how nice they were and she was glad they were friends with her sister. The brunette smiled and gave the girl a squeeze back. "It was very nice to meet you. I hope you have fun doing whatever you need to do." Henri was relieved that Ruby wouldn't be lonely or bored. She would've felt bad if that had happened, especially since she seemed so innocent and young.
Actually, it seemed the young girl was in a bigger hurry than them. All of a sudden, she had left the room. She looked to Twyla and grinned. "She's so cute." It was the only thing that entered her mind. Seeing the girl made Henri wish that she had a little sibling or a sibling at all, really. It was a little late in her mother's life for having more children and she didn't even date once in a while. No, brothers and sisters were not something she would have. Luckily, Twyla was like a sister, or at least what she imagined a sister was like.
The blonde was now up and heading towards the door. "Shall we?" She asked. Henritetta smiled. "Yeah, let's go feel amazingly fit!" The girl laughed and jogged to catch up with her friend at the door. "To the Y!" Opening the front door, she took a step out.
Van called out to a couple and the girl laughed. "Really, Van?" While they were sitting there, she felt his hand disappear out of her's. She was wondering what he was doing until she felt his arm across her back. Henri's face turned red. She'd seen people do that to girls in TV shows and on movies. That was usually a sign, right? It had to have meant something. Usually people would start making out after a guy did that, or so that was her experience. The girl thought back to her first kiss in middle school. It hadn't been great and he'd been kind of a jerk, but she wanted to get her first kiss out of the way. Some people made such a big deal out of it. She didn't want it to turn into something huge and complex.
He whispered something about the people's costumes close to her ear and she shivered slightly. "Uh, yeah. They're very cool. I like Alice's dress." It was true, she did like the girl's dress, but that wasn't exactly what her mind was focusing on currently. She leaned her shoulder against his. Teenage hormones are so not fair. Henrietta looked toward the direction of the boy. She really did like him, even if this was only their third time hanging out. Besides, she knew plenty of people who kissed when they first met, so kissing on a third meeting wasn't that nasty, was it?
Okay, I'll just see what he does before I try anything else. That was a safe move, right? He had put his arm around her and then she leaned toward him. Their faces were closer together now because their shoulders were touching. She was pretty sure this was a decently obvious sign, but she couldn't be sure.
Lenna mentioned showing her ability to Slate and he agreed that it would be a good idea. She glanced at both people, slightly nervous. She pushed her chair back and then stood up. As she stood, her hair began to move wildly. “Well, I can lift things up to 70 pounds and it would take something very hard to cut my hair. Something such as diamond.” The girl smiled.
Henrietta looked from Lenna to Slate. “Is there anything else in particular you’d like to see or know?” The brunette pulled her chair towards her once again and perched on the edge of the seat, in case she had to stand again for some reason. They may want a further demonstration or something of the like. She wondered if he'd find her power interesting, or just lame. She knew that Lenna could negate her, so she decided to just go with moving her locks for now.
Van told Henrietta that the spot she picked was fine, so the teens sat down. He seemed pretty excited that there were cup holders and it made the girl laugh quietly to herself. Henri leaned back in her seat and was more than a little suprised when it went backwards on her. "Huh. That's awesome." She sat up and then leaned back. Sat up and then leaned back. Sitting up for more than a second this time, she turned and whispered to Van. "Do you think they hand out peanuts and those little drinks with the umbrellas?" Leaning back away from him, she had a smirk on her face.
All of a sudden, the lights in the theater dimmed even more. Henri could still see the girls' cellphone lights. She almost suggested that they throw candy at the small squad, but thought better of it since the credits started rolling. Though the girl was genuinely interested in the movie, there was a really hot teenage boy next to her. Her mind began to race for a moment as she tried to figure out what she was supposed to do. Umm...Oh man! What if he doesn't want to kiss me? She turned and glanced at Van and then quickly looked away again. But..wait. Why wouldn't he want to kiss me? He seems to like me and I know for a fact that most boys' hormones are raging at this time in their lives.
After contimplating the situation for a minute, she looked for Van's hand and then took ahold of it. Okay, I'm sending you a telepathic wavelength. The girl stopped and rolled her eyes at herself. This would probably work so much better if I was actually a telepath. All I have is moving hair and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any brain to send wavelengths out with. Henrietta decided to go with the safe route and waited to see what his reaction was to the small, flirty move.
She'd be lying if Henrietta had said she wasn't surprised when she got a call from the Kabal member, Lenna. The woman had asked if she would want to hang out and talk. The brunette was a little disoriented at first, but eventually she got out a 'yeah, sure'. For some reason, the girl felt nervous. She liked Lenna well enough and she seemed pretty nice, but Henri didn't usually hang out with adults. It was just different and that made her a little nervous, but she decided to not let it show. Or, at least to try not to let it show.
While waiting for Lenna, she found herself wondering if it would just be talking or if it would turn into something more Kabal-related. She hadn't mentioned anything like that, so maybe not. When the woman got off the bus she waved and so Henrietta waved back and gave her a friendly smile. The teen was wearing a pair of nice, dark blue jeans, a lime green tank under a floral print shirt with bright spring colors, and a pair of brown flats. She had on a brown sweater and a necklace with different color beads that looked very nice with her shirt.
She noticed that Lenna's outfit was very pretty. The last time she had seen her, she had also had on a very nice outfit. The girl had a feeling that she was just very fashionable in general. She could admire that, since she was a big fan of fashion herself. Lenna asked the brunette how she had been. "Oh, pretty good. How about you?"
Van came over to where she was and the girl was relieved to see he didn't look upset. They walked over to 'Theater 4' and Van began to use a British accent as he held the door open for her. She curtsied and walked in ahead of him, also using a British accent. "Thank you, kind sir. I am forever in your debt and all that..." Henrietta laughed a little and led her date to the middle of the back section. She put her left hand on her hip and then turned and looked at him to gauge his reaction. "We can go closer if you want, I just figured I might be kind of giggily if I get hyper and I'm sure the children would not appreciate that." The brunette gestured at a group of kids toward the front.
She smirked and glanced at his candy. "And I don't know how you'll react to all that sugar either." Actually, I'm mostly thinking that it's gonna be dark and if I kiss you, I don't want small children to see. The girl's face turned a faint red color in the dark theater. She figured it wasn't enough color to notice, but still. Okay, Henri-old-girl. Get your mind out of the gutter and onto the movie, if possible. Henrietta glanced at Van and all his cuteness. Okay, easier said than done, but we can handle this, hopefully. The girl had a sneaking feeling, that even if she didn't kiss him, that's most of what she'd be thinking about. Forget Alice and her Wonderland!
Shin said that they could start a post, but the characters they have must be pretty busy. If they can't, I can start one or something unless you want to.
