The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was an off-day, with nothing to do. No missions from Slate, and no games with the Order to play. On days such as this, all one really had for company were the books on their shelves, the background noise of the television, and one's own thoughts. It got old after a while. That is why, today, Lenna thought she'd shake it up a bit. She'd pulled out her iphone, and dialed a friend: Henrietta Braun. It was a recent acquaintance. Lenna didn't know much about her, other than her determinations to help mutantkind and the world, and her mommy-problems. She thought she could get to know her better. Lenna had told Henrietta she'd show the girl 'the ropes', as well. When she'd offered, she hadn't specified just which ropes, and where. That's why, when she dialed a 'Henri', she didn't have a specific goal such as 'training' in mind. No. Just conversation.
"Henrietta, it's Lenna," The conversation had went. "If you're free today, I thought we could hang out. Hit the town, get coffee, talk? My treat." Lenna had offered. Henrietta had accepted. They'd set up a time and a place to meet. Then, they'd met.
Lenna stepped off the bus, and waved at Henrietta. Today, Lenna wore a red knee-length skirt, black stockings, and a black sweater top. She walked up to Henrietta, and shifted the red purse on her arm. "Hey," She smiled. "How have you been?"
She'd be lying if Henrietta had said she wasn't surprised when she got a call from the Kabal member, Lenna. The woman had asked if she would want to hang out and talk. The brunette was a little disoriented at first, but eventually she got out a 'yeah, sure'. For some reason, the girl felt nervous. She liked Lenna well enough and she seemed pretty nice, but Henri didn't usually hang out with adults. It was just different and that made her a little nervous, but she decided to not let it show. Or, at least to try not to let it show.
While waiting for Lenna, she found herself wondering if it would just be talking or if it would turn into something more Kabal-related. She hadn't mentioned anything like that, so maybe not. When the woman got off the bus she waved and so Henrietta waved back and gave her a friendly smile. The teen was wearing a pair of nice, dark blue jeans, a lime green tank under a floral print shirt with bright spring colors, and a pair of brown flats. She had on a brown sweater and a necklace with different color beads that looked very nice with her shirt.
She noticed that Lenna's outfit was very pretty. The last time she had seen her, she had also had on a very nice outfit. The girl had a feeling that she was just very fashionable in general. She could admire that, since she was a big fan of fashion herself. Lenna asked the brunette how she had been. "Oh, pretty good. How about you?"
Bean Franklin’s, It was one of the few places that made a coffee big enough for him, it had four shots of espresso on top of the Vente Mocha caramel Frapacino, it was called the key and the kite, they should give it to people in coma’s if they wanted them to wake up. But that wasn’t the only purchase he had made, he made, he Grabbed an issue of Green, The coffee shops take on how to make the world a better place. He was open to suggestions for when he had the world under the thumb of mutants, perhaps there would be some idea to apply. Aside from that he was trying something new, a scone. What in the scone, was a scone? Abyss didn’t know but he was going to find out, he had just ordered eight of them, He made the girl at the counter name off all the flavors and didn’t feel like choosing so he just settled on one of each.
The large man mad his way to a corner chair at large table, he liked to take up space and be uncontested for the little room; it made him laugh on the inside. Oh how the little snooty humans would yearn to take a seat from him, but they wouldn’t. He dared one of them to point out that there were plenty of single seat tables for wifi’ers outside. He was dressed for spring in his size fourteen wide running shoes, his khaki shorts and his black polo, with sun glasses hanging from where the buttons that couldn't be buttoned parted. His hair a carefully arranged bed head mess.
Since they'd last met, not much had happened. There wasn't much to talk about her 'being'. Thus, Lenna chose the reply with the path of least resistance off her tongue. "Great."
Her eyes cut across the street, towards a coffee shop. The shop window had an adorable mural of a coffee bean in a wig and glasses holding the strings of a rainbow kite underneath bean-shaped rain clouds. Lenna gestured towards Bean Franklin's. "Shall we?"
They crossed the street at a crosswalk, and made their way into the shop.
Lenna liked Bean Franklin's. It was a cute little coffee shop, with a cafe area outside, small window-side tables for laptop-users, good lighting, and a comfortable lounge with red poofy couches. The staff was usually friendly. They served lunch. They had good coffee. The last part was most important.
Lenna walked up to the counter, and drummed up an order for lunch and a beverage. She ordered something called 'The Turkey', and a humble cup of no-fuss black coffee, called 'Poor Richard's Cup of Joe'. As she turned back towards the tables to survey their seating arrangements, her eyes fell on the red man.
Which one...? Lenna wondered. She turned to Henrietta, and announced with a slight smirk. "You place your order. I'll find us a seat. I just found a friend of mine..."
Lenna walked over to the clone's table, and got his attention. She put a hand on the table, and leaned forward slightly. "Hey. Which one?" She asked with a good-humored grin. "Mind if we sit?" Lenna aimed a bent digit back towards Henrietta, then pointed towards a chair on his left.
She waved Henrietta over when she thought it was okay. Lenna sat down next to big red, and made him a bit pink. She smiled and thanked the teenage waitress when she brought Lenna her coffee and turkey sandwich. Lenna picked the heavy thing up in her hands, and dug in, not bothering to explain the situation. He was big and red. He could handle the confused girl at the table, himself.
"So good," Lenna spoke around a mouthful of sandwich.
((OOC note: Lenna's aura makes the usually-red and big Abyss a bit less muscular, and pinkish. Still imposing, in a Vegeta-wears-Pink way.))
Henrietta looked at the outside of the little coffee shop as they approached it. It was called 'Bean Franklin's' and the girl couldn't help but to think of the name as cute. She smiled as they walked into the cafe. Lenna went right up to the counter and placed her order. The woman then said she'd found a friend of hers and would go get them a seat. The brunette gave a quick nod to her and turned back to the counter.
She ordered a chicken sandwich and a glass of lemonade. For some reason, she wasn't in the mood for coffee. Or maybe it went deeper than that. Maybe it was because Henrietta became a spazzy freak when she had caffeine and really didn't want to look immature in front of Lenna and her friend, whoever that person was. She turned to walk towards Lenna when she spotted him. He was large and a weird pink color. Her mouth fell open for a moment, but managed to compose herself again before she ventured over to the pair.
When she got to the table, she noticed Lenna gestured to a chair on the left of..I'll call him Big Guy until I learn his name Big Guy. "Um, hello." She smiled nervously at him. "I'm Henrietta." I hope he tells me his name so I know what to call him. Lenna got her food and began to eat it right away. It must've been really good. Henri smiled and then was pleasantly surprised when the waitress came right back out with her meal. She smiled and said, "Thank you." Taking a bite, she made a "Mmmm" noise. It was a good 'Mmmm'.
