The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She was reminded very quickly why she just slept on the couch the way it was. This thing had to be older than she was by about a decade. However, she was sure her date was getting a good view of her bent over, grunting and groaning as she finally got the couch to do what it was supposed to do.
When she finally got it, she wiped her brow, and turned to find herself face to face with Allyssa, who brushed her hair aside and kissed her again. "Oh, somewhere right about here," she murmured softly, reaching around to unzip that pesky dress. This was odd though, seeing as how the room wasn't lit up. Usually it was pulsing pink like some odd Valentine's Day rave or something.

She smiled at the comments, and Skye had to admit, it was kind of nice to not have a light show to go with it. Even if her feelings were quite obvious by this point. "I'm sure you can~" she murmured.
Finally, their lips met, and Skye's arms wrapped eagerly around Allyssa, returning the kiss that she'd been waiting for all night. After a few moments, she broke the kiss, moving away from the other woman to remove the couch cushions and then bent over to pull out the couch. There was a reason she just slept on the couch as is, but...well they were going to be cramped otherwise.

Skye blushed when she mentioned preferring the brown hair. "Thanks. It doesn't get as much exposure now, because I rarely ever feel....nothing," she smiled. "But I have to admit, I enjoy the little bit of off time. Though you will miss one hell of a light show later," she said with a sly smirk.
And then she commented on the godawful shirt. Skye shuddered, pulling it over her head and tossing it on the floor. "Maybe, but it looks much better that way," she said with a wink.

"You're not the only one who'd have that problem," she murmured with a coy grin, squeezing Allyssa's hand in return. Then, she asked about her hair, and she smirked.
"It's part of my mutation; my hair changes depending on my mood," she said, then gave a snort. "Yeah, let's give a teenage girl emotion based powers, what can go wrong there?" She gave another giggle. "I'm still figuring out meanings, but it was pink most of the time you were there," she said with a shrug as they made their way to Blaine's apartment. It was only a few blocks away, so they didn't take long to get there.
Once upstairs, she took out her key, unlocking the door and slipping her hoodie off to reveal the hideous uniform top.

Technically, Skye wasn't supposed to be here. Well....legally, she wasn't supposed to be here, anyway. But she'd gotten a fake ID when she was back in Maine, and she'd never gotten the chance really use it. Sure, there were dive bars and the like back home, but it wasn't anything really special. So...she had a weekend free, told her aunt and uncle she was going out, and she did, ditching the hoodie for a bright blue top that was just low cut enough to show a little of her figure, and was short enough to show off her naval piercing. She had a pair of tight, form fitting jeans, and a pair of boots to go with it. Over all of it was a black leather jacket. It was tight and sexy, but at the same time lined so that it'd be warm. Her head felt exposed, which she regretted after standing in line for what seemed like forever.
Finally, she showed her ID, telling she was twenty-one instead of the truthful eighteen. She stepped inside, her hair a vibrant orange; she was happy, a little excited, but mostly optimistic as she walked into the club, a little bounce in her step. This was much nicer than anything she'd seen back in her port-hometown. A smirk danced across her face as she looked around, walking up to a less-crowded bar as she started to question her decision. There were tons of people here, and she generally hated crowds. But maybe she could make up for it and have a little fun.
Walking up to the bar, she ordered a drink, something fruity sounding. She'd play it safe and just stick to the one, though. And as she took a sip, she wasn't regretting her decision; Damn that was strong. So she just played it safe, making her way to a--well...all of the booths seemed to be taken, so she walked over and took a spot against the wall.
Her eyes darted across the club, across the different faces as she sipped her drink. The orange light radiating from her hands actually went well with the atmosphere of the club; those jokes were right, she guess. A slight smirk played across her lips.

She giggled a little. "It's fine, it happens. I mean most people don't give their names to the waitress, and we only give ours because they tell us to," she said with a shrug. "That's a nice name, very pretty. It suits you," she said with a wink, biting her lip a little again.
"Well, it's not a long walk from here," she said with a smile as she led the other woman down the street. She hoped that Blaine and Lee wouldn't be home for awhile. But the way this night was going, the odds were looking to hopefully be in her favor.

Skye laughed, nodding. "Yeah, I'm definitely up for that," she said brightly, pulling the hood of her hoodie over her head as she took the other woman's hand. Walking was nice, especially with someone as easy on the eyes as--she never got the woman's name. "You know, in all the excitement, I never got your name," she said, blushing lightly.
"Well, at first I was going to say coffee, but I like the second option a lot better..." she said with a mischievous grin, biting her lip a little. "Well, I don't live far from here, and my aunt and uncle won't be home for awhile..." She smirked a little more.

When she got back, it was just the one girl at the table; she guessed the others had gone on at their friend's request. Either way, both women appeared to be free, and Skye was glad to be out of her uniform. Well, not out of it so much as had a pair of jeans and her hoodie thrown over it. Either way, she was now in her preferred dress. As per usual, when she got close, her hair went from its excited yellow back to its plain Jane brown.
"In mind? Not really, no. I'm new to the city, anyway. I only recently have been able to find my way home," she said with a nervous chuckle.

Skye smiled back, waiting for just a few moments as she listened to the exchange. She was sticking around? Good. She at least had something to look forward to after work now. Bidding a brief goodbye, she made her way back to work, now mostly just cleaning up; there'd be no new customers as the kitchen was shutting down, and anyone else would just be heading to the bar area, which was another entity entirely.
She'd passed out the last of her checks, and then wiped down the tables, and began sweeping the emptier parts of the dining area. Once that was done, she'd finished cleaning everything, she picked up the check from the table where her date was waiting, and then made her way to the back.
When she emerged, she was no longer wearing her revealing uniform, but a pair of jeans, and her black hoodie, with her hood pulled up. "Ready to go?" she said with a wink.

She nodded. "Yeah, I'm noticing that they rarely are. I mean, I haven't been in contact with many mutants so far; I think I've seen more after a month in New York than I have in my eighteen years of living in Maine. Though working at a mutant-employed restaurant has also helped with exposure, I guess," she said with a shrug.
Then the menu was open between them, and it was really sinking in how close they were. But...it wasn't a bad thing. After all, she'd had help with her mutation. Though she'd been given tons of pointers and advice from different people, it was nice to have another perspective. And this Jude character really seemed to have a good head on his shoulders to be so young.
The young woman listened to the menu descriptions. "Yeah, I'm more of a protein and starch kinda girl. And yet I somehow manage to keep my figure," she said with a slight giggle. Okay, so sushi was a no go, which...would have been anyway, because ew. "I'm liking the idea of steak and chicken," she said, "Fried rice, of course. And ew. I could never eat anything that's still moving. That's just....wrong."

"All you have to do is wait an hour," she said quietly. Once she took the order down, she bounced her way back to the kitchen, putting the order in and then making her rounds, dropping off a few more checks, picking up a few plates, and taking a few more orders.
Several minutes went by, and she finally returned to the table with the check and the woman's cake. "There you go, enjoy~" she said sweetly, as she gave her soon-to-be date a wink then made her way back to the rest of her tables. It was looking to be a great day.

Skye smirked at the woman's answer. "You mean besides me?" she whispered with a wink as she bit her lip a little. Thankfully her shift would be over in about an hour. She stood with her pen and pad ready, biting her lip a little more before regaining her composure; she was at work, after all.
"Well, I recommend the molten lava cake, but we also have cheesecake and ice cream. There are other kinds of cakes, even though we're not known for our desserts. Still though, they're nothing to take lightly," she said with a smile. She looked towards the other people at the table, but they didn't seem too interested in dessert. Well, they did seem to be, but not in anything that was on the menu.
Her other tables seemed to be straight for now, so she just waited on an answer for a minute.

She returned the wink once again, then went back to her other tables, refilling teas, bringing beer, and all of that kind of thing. However, once out of range, the pink light that radiated from her hands was pulsing quite vividly. Though occasionally it would now go between pink and a bright, excited yellow. Part of her wondered if her potential date--whose name she hadn't yet gotten--had noticed. But considering they were in a mutant establishment, it likely didn't matter. Hopefully. Even still, it's not like the girl would notice as long as she stayed within several feet, right?
She picked up another table, taking orders and going through the motions, though her coworkers in the back noticed she was more...vibrant...than usual. Honestly, they were happy to see her with some genuine spirit instead of faking it like everyone usually did. Hey, mutant friendly or not, work was still work. Skye sadly didn't have to return to her table very often now that they were set, but she did manage to make one customary trip back, the hair once again going back to normal when she got close.
She refilled the girls' drinks. "Everything to your liking?" she asked. "And can I interest you in dessert before I bring the check?"
Skye giggled a little, taking the rather attractive woman's order down, and turning to the rest of the table and getting their orders as well. She hated that she was stuck at work for this, but also understood that if she wasn't working, this wouldn't be happening. Once set, she turned and went to put the orders in, beginning to get used to the fact that her powers seemed to shut off when near that particular table. As always, once she was outside of several feet, her pink lights turned back on, catching the admiration of a man at a nearby table, but she wasn't paying him any mind.
Maybe if he came back and there weren't any customers as charming as the one she was dealing with now.
After settling a few more tables, she came back to refill the ladies' drinks, and then went back to the kitchen and picked up the tray with their orders on them. "Here you are," she said, passing out the plates but leaving her admirer's for last on purpose. She sat the plate down, but just under it where only the other woman could see was a napkin. On the napkin was scribbled in pen: Skye, followed by her number and a little note that said 'I'm off at eleven' with a winking face next to it. "Enjoy your dinner~" she said happily as she bounced away, once again giving the woman a little something to watch as she left.
Okay, so maybe in her comfort, the young woman had in fact, fallen asleep. She was just so...comfortable, relaxed even. But after a few moments, she felt a light shaking, followed by soft-spoken words, and her eyes opened slowly to look up at her 'ride' to the apartment. She nodded, taking this to mean she had to use her own feet again. Which was fair enough, she supposed.
Once she was back on her feet, she stretched a little, smiling up at Jack, her hair still pink. But...given what she'd been thinking about....she wasn't surprised. Though it crossed her mind that she'd be screwed if she ever came across an empath or a mind reader. Or both. Though...at the same time, maybe they could help...The young woman diverted her thoughts back to the task at hand. Sure, she'd managed to get the other mutant to carry her here, but she was still unsure about...well, the fact that they were here together in the first place was due to her getting lost, so at least she wasn't that manipulative, right? Right...
She gave a low whistle as she looked at the building. Staying close, but not too close, she walked with her new friend inside. On the one hand she hated elevators. She'd always been afraid of getting stuck in one. But in this case...maybe that wouldn't be so bad.
"How high up?" she finally asked, once on the elevator. "You're not secretly some billionaire with a penthouse, are you?" she teased, her hair flickering to a playful orange before back to its hot pink. "Not that I'd see you any differently either way." She winked lightly, her more...flirty side starting to show.
