The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She shook her head as Allyssa appeared from under the covers. She had to smirk at the image though; it was more than kind of adorable. Normally, she didn't pay much mind to people who flirted with her at work, but...well this time she was glad she did.
Skye shook her head. "Nope. I asked the same question when I first got here. You get used to it, I guess. He used to be a pro-fighter, but when they discovered his mutation....they basically blacklisted him." She hid her temper at that, even though she technically didn't have to. Then again...she did, because they weren't there to talk.
Smirking again, Skye kissed her back, her hands moving to wiggle herself out of her shorts, dropping them to the floor before wrapping her arms around the other woman, moaning lightly.

"Well...you can come out now, but my guess is they'll want you to stay awhile," Skye murmured. "See, all three of us are mutants, and you kinda....shut off mutations at a certain distance. My uncle usually can't feel, and with you here...he can," she said plainly, letting her company for the evening do the math on that one.
Then, she grabbed the remote, turning on the TV and hitting the volume. "Though...no need in letting the night go to waste, right?" she said coyly, looking under the covers to give the other girl a wink.

Skye could tell she was doing quite a number on the other mutant, even so much as eliciting a light show of her own. They actually blended rather well. "Good," she said with a smile, "I'm enjoying the view from this angle, as well," she murmured lightly.
She giggled a little when Jack mentioned that Skye made it hard to think clearly. "Nothing to apologize for; I tend to have that effect sometimes..." When the distance was closed, her hand reached out and her fingers very lightly danced over the prawn's arm as she half-heartedly glanced over the selection of teas. Honestly, she knew what she wanted...but it wasn't tea that she had her eye on. Gently, she took the basket and put it on the counter before turning her attention back to the other mutant.
She bit her lip a little as she closed the distance between them, letting both hands lightly rest on Jack's arms, fingers dancing very lightly as she looked up at her, the pink lights now flashing furiously. Luckily pink wasn't a dangerous color as far as her power went. Otherwise she'd have never been able to have any fun...

She gripped Allyssa's hand, stroking it with her thumb to comfort her. This was so freaking awkward, and there wasn't anywhere they could really go. Allyssa's dress was on the floor somewhere, and Sky wasn't wearing anything but her work shorts, though as short as they were, calling them 'clothing' was a bit of a stretch.
"I recently got paid...we could get dressed and I could get a hotel room or something," Skye suggested, still blushing heavily as she looked down towards the lump on the bed. Honestly, if it wasn't so damn awkward, it'd be kind of humorous.

"I will, Aunt Lee," she promised as she straightened up. She nodded when she was told everything would be fine. She knew it would be, but that slight nervousness was still there.
"I know it will. Just be careful, okay? You do have someone else to worry about, after all," she said with a smile. "I know my little cousin's in good hands though," she added, sighing lightly as she got up and went back to her station by the door. Luckily it had slowed down, but she didn't want to get in trouble for not doing her job.

Let the adults handle it. That she could do. Hell, if this guy was like some Darth-Blaine, then she'd happily let Lee and Blaine and anyone else they may have have him. Mr. Doesn't-Feel-A-Lot and Miss Energy-Sucker would stand a lot more of a chance than a human Lite-Brite, she thought.
"Yeah, I understand. And I will." She nodded when Lee said she had to get back to work; it was kind of weird with her having a day job, but you did what you had to, she guessed.
"I'll let you know if he comes back or anything. See you tonight," she said with a smile, although the green in her hair turned a more nervous purple.

Aaand Lee didn't even seem to notice them. Her face felt like it was going to explode, though if it wasn't for Allyssa being right there she would have flash-banged a while ago. She bit her lip, her hand feeling for Allyssa's under the covers. Sure, it was awkward, but...okay she really couldn't think of a silver lining right now.
Sighing, she bit her lip as the two of them didn't even seem to notice Skye and the lump that was her company. "Uh...do you two mind?" She finally perked up, still using the covers to hide that she was barely clothed. Her heart felt like it was about to beat out of her chest.
She nodded over at Jack, smiling a little as she recognized when someone was eyeing her figure. Eat your heart out, she thought, smirking coyly at her. She didn't know what it was tonight; maybe the books had gotten her warmed up, but whatever it was...she wasn't complaining.
"Tea actually sounds pretty good," she said, walking over to where the prawn stood, making sure to emphasize her figure as she walked.
The younger woman leaned against the wall in the kitchen, tugging her shirt just a little to show a little more cleavage. "It's enough~" she said with another smile. "Thanks again."
Her pink lights were pulsing steadily from her hands, giving the room around her quite the interesting air. "Like what you see?" she said teasingly, partially referring to the light show...and partially...well, not.
Skye nodded as she listened to her 'aunt' explain things. It didn't help, honestly, but in a world where people could turn colors and breathe smoke and turn into dogs, anything was possible, she supposed. "Okay, so he seems like a bad dude, but we have no idea what his angle is..." she said, biting her lip a little.
She hated to admit it, but Lee's next words were right. She was 5'3, maybe a buck fifteen soaking wet, and she was pretty sure her flash-bang wouldn't be much of a match against someone with a mutation like her uncle's. It sucked, but she was totally useless here. "Sounds....fair..." she breathed, none to happy with the decision, but not dumb enough to argue with it. She knew Lee was right, and if this guy was as dangerous as he might be...well it'd be a good call just to listen to reason.

Skye blinked. That wasn't--then what--why--who--She was so confused. Leaning on the table--which may have been a bad idea, given the nature of her uniform, but oh well. This was kind of important.
"So....that wasn't Uncle Blaine....just someone who looked just like him with shorter hair? And talked like him?" She said, green lights now gently pulsing at her confusion. This was insane.
"Then why were you with him? What did he want? What's going on?" she asked, her head practically spinning as she tried to make heads or tails of all of this. Sadly she wasn't having much luck.

Skye was also diving for the covers, though she at least kept her head exposed, still cursing under her breath as the door slowly opened. Well, her luck seemed to have run out for the evening...not that Blaine and Lee would be mad at her for having company over...it just made it awkward now. Granted, as many times as she'd walked in on them by accident...it could merely be considered karma coming back to bite...someone in the ass. Though she wasn't sure who. Maybe both.
Pulling the covers over her chest, she let out a sigh as the door was fully open, and her face was a bright red. It was a good thing she brought home an adapted; otherwise everyone else would have caught the full brunt of her power by now.

Honestly, Skye hated door duty, but she was covering for a coworker, and it was a few extra hours that week, so she couldn't be too upset, right? Well, not upset, but she definitely was confused as she saw her uncle moving rather briskly out of the door without speaking to her. That was...odd. And something about the way he carried himself was off.
...Was everything okay between him and Lee? Especially with her being...
She hoped everything was okay. But when she looked back, Lee was waving her over. Something had happened, she knew it. Taking a breath, she walked over, her hair a worried green, as her hands began to flicker. "E-everything okay, Aunt Lee? I saw Uncle Blaine leave. Did you two...I mean, is everything okay with you two?" she asked, worry on her face.
Skye giggled a little. "Oh you have, have you?" she breathed, meaning it to be teasing, but coming out a little more sensual than intended. "Well. I hate the uniform, but I guess it's done something right..." she whispered.
And then they were falling. Which may not have been the best idea. The sofa- couch was sturdy, yet unforgiving as the wind was semi knocked out of her. But feeling Allyssa's lips on hers again followed by the light touch on her arm helped ease that.
Her fingers danced along her back before moving to tangle in her hair, her breath heavy as her heart fluttered in her chest. Normally, she didn't bring people here, for the obvious reason.
And then, as if on cue, the clicking of the tumblers in the lock turning broke through the relative silence as the doorknob slowly began to turn shortly after. Skye broke away from the kiss, albeit reluctantly.
"Sh**!" she hissed, looking up at the ceiling, wondering who or what it was out there that hated her.

Skye was already kind of winded, thanks to dealing with the antique couch, but she was too engrossed in her company to really care about that. She pulled the dress down slowly, shivering a little. She gave a gasp at the squeeze on her butt, and she pulled back a little, her face a bright red and her breath sharp. Kicking her shoes off, and under the bed, she slid off the blue jeans, revealing the too-short black shorts from her work uniform.
Then, she wrapped her arms around Alyssa's waist, pulling her back onto the bed. Sure it was old, but at least it was sturdy.

Skye smirked. "Still doesn't make me see you any different. Besides, my living accommodations consist of a couch in a one-bedroom right now, so anything would be a step up," she said with a soft smile. The elevator ride was quiet, though she did stick kind of close to her new friend. It was a new place and it was late.
She had to admit, the inside of the building was a nice setup, very nice. And when they got to the room, sure it was modestly furnished, but it was still nice. She nodded as Jack spoke, slipping off her hoodie to reveal a black low-cut tee shirt that was just tight enough to show off her figure, and stopped just above her belly-button, showing off her pierced naval. Coupled with the tight jeans, it really did emphasize her body quite a bit. While she wasn't necessarily curvy, she did have enough of a build to her, despite being petite.
She hung her jacket by the door, stepping into the apartment. She bit her lip a little looking over at Jack, her hair still a very bright pink, her hands beginning to go from a light flicker to a more intense pulsing. It did give the apartment a little bit of mood lighting though.
