The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Teddy sat and listened to the girl talk about the music. She was right and he could almost instantly tell that she knew what she was talking about musically.
He then turned his attention to her question and was glad that she liked his singing. "I starred a few years ago when I was living with my parents call in Florida. I took it up as a hobby, never really something that I played for a lot of people, except for at church or my family every once in a while." Ted said answering her question. "What about you? Where did you learn to play?"
Teddy and Ruby definitely need to catch up again. Another fox and bunny thread may be in order . Things might be getting a little hectic for me to but I'll do my best to keep up.
I would certainly volunteer teddy to be a person to get kidnapped. He's pretty trusting and wouldn't think that anyone would really want to kidnap a kid like him
The music she was playing was good. He didn't recognize the tune immediately, but after a while he picked up on it. He recognized it as something that he'd heard on the radio. The song was pretty new and he could tell that she hadn't perfected it when she started to fumble a little through a certain section of the song. However, she was still doing a real good job playing it.
Teddy was a little surprised that she'd offered to let him play her guitar. There was no way that he would have let someone play his guitar unless he knew them. He was certainly taken aback by the offer. "Ummm...Sure." Teddy said as he walked over and took the guitar from her. He wasn't used to playing in front of people like she seemed to be. He was a little nervous to say the least and after strumming it a bit to think of a song he picked one that he knew well enough to play. The song he picked he'd heard on the radio and fell in love with it. It was a slower song but he started picking the strings a little before he started singing.
When Ted started singing, he started singing the words to "Count on Me" by Bruno Mars. It started out well enough, however, he still couldn't figure out how Bruno Mars sang as high as he did. Teddy simply couldn't get that high with his voice. He continued to finish out the song in a register that was more to his vocal abilities. When he finished he said, "Maybe I should have picked a song from someone with a deeper voice." He joked. "What'd you think?" Teddy never thought of himself as a great singer but he certainly did like to try. Someone else's opinion would be welcomed with his singing.
It was a nice day out and Teddy had decided to spend it walking around Central Park. Surprisingly he'd been living in this city for almost a year and he had yet to visit this place. Although in his defense, he didn't get away from the mansion much. Today was a different story though. It'd was to nice out for him to spend it at the mansion; even if he could have spent it all outside there. Sometimes you just have to get away. That had been his reasoning for taking the bus into the city today. So far he'd spent the time wandering around Times Square and just kind of meandering towards the general vicinity of Central Park. Ted had past what seemed like hundreds of shops and he was just wandering looking at all the different sites of stores, restaurants, people, and even taking in the smells. On second thought the smells probably weren't a plus for a big city.
After about twenty minutes of mindless wandering Teddy ended up in Central Park. He knew he was there because he saw all the horse buggies lined up to take people around the block or wherever it is that they go. He decided to walk along the area next to the little pond that they had there. There were plenty of ducks and fish to look at in the water and he was enjoying looking at them. It was peaceful where he was standing. Off in the distance he began to hear the sound of a guitar being played and a voice accompanying it. Teddy absentmindedly tapped his foot to the music, whether or not he was actually in time with it. But his time was soon interrupted by a guy talking loudly on his phone. Apparently to his girlfriend or wife or someone important. Teddy rolled his eyes and moved on. He made his way closer to the music being played and kept listening. So far it wasn't anything that he readily recognized but he was still enjoying it.
The teen mutant soon found the source of the playing. It was a girl. A very pretty girl and possibly older than him. He could never really tell a girls age. Teddy stopped, and very obviously, started listening to the girl. It didn't look like she was playing for money like a lot of the peddlers did but it didn't matter because she was very good at it. He now leaned against a big tree near the girl and continued to watch her, all thought of the ducks, squirrels and fish gone from his mind. His head swayed back and forth a little as she continued to play. Man she's good. He couldn't help but think as he stood there.
Teddy became a little nervous when she mentioned that she'd have to check to make sure that he wasn't going to get killed by impersonating a stuffed animal in someones room. It wouldn't be the first time but suffice it to say that he couldn't really fight anyone when he's a cute beagle stuffed animal. Teddy then laughed at her. "Ya I figured you'd like it. Most people seem to have the same reaction as you did." He admitted.
It definitely wasn't the first time that he'd been picked up and squeezed like that and he was sure it wouldn't be the last either. "Umm. Thanks." Teddy said now throughly uncomfortable when she said he was a nice boy. It was more something that he didn't expect her to say. "Hey you want go get a drink inside?" The temperature had gotten noticably warmer since they'd been playing and the changing had taken energy out of him and he was actually pretty hungry now too. Teddy got up and picked up the ball and waited for her response.
If Teddy hadn't shown more people his powers, then he would have been really weirded out by Rebecca picking him up and trying to, literally, squeeze the stuffing out of him. Teddy just rolled his beady eyes as she squeezed him. Ya this seems to be the normal reaction for girls. He thought as she set him back on the ground and started apologizing. Teddy just shook his head and kept the smile. If he could make a sound she would have heard him laughing at her.
He remembered the last time he'd snuck into someones room. He'd almost gotten killed. That person wasn't really to happy with having him around because she thought he was snooping around and spying on her. He remembered that incident and decided that it might not be the smartest idea unless this person had a sense of humor. Teddy quickly changed back. The reformation of the boy looked just as bizarre as the changing into the animal. First he grew, then his features returned to boy form. Finally the rest of his body caught up with him and the fur dissolved and he was just the normal, well not really normal, Teddy sitting in front of Rebecca. The whole process only took a little less than a minute and he said, "Well, as long as the person doesn't try to kill me I'd be ok with helping you pull the prank." He didn't know the person that Rebecca was talking about but if she was suggesting it then this person hopefully had a good sense of humor.
The change took some energy out of him and he was feeling pretty tired now. He struggled to stifle a yawn and said, "I'm guessing you liked the little trick huh?" Obviously he didn't need to ask her since she tried to strangle him when he was done changing but he figured he'd poke fun at her just a little.
Teddy couldn't agree more. He was used to exercise but running around like that was a little more than just exercise. He was more tired after that than he normally was after running.
Ted laughed when she brushed some of the dirt off his face. He couldn't agree more. This seemed like a great time to take a little break. He just nodded when she suggested it. Rebecca sounded a little hesitant to ask to see him change but he didn't mind. Teddy thought for a minute about which animal to use. He had a few to choose from but he wasn't sure if it would even matter. She sounded more curious than anything.
One came to mind. It was probably his favorite so he said, "Just so you know I can't talk while I'm changed. I have to be human to talk. But here we go. Oh and it might be a little weird to watch. Sometimes it's kinda disgusting." He focused on the animal. The changes started abruptly, like always, and his body started to sprout 'fur' everywhere. Soon his whole body was covered in brown fuzziness. Once he was all brown and furry he shrank down to about two feet tall and about three feet long.
A tail sprouted and his clothes disappeared too. His hands dissolved and turned into paws. At the same time his face changed from the boy that she was just playing soccer with to a dogs face. He was now fully beagle. Teddy splayed his paws out and gave her a smile is a sort of 'Ta-da' fashion. He didn't really know what she would do but there it was a stuffed beagle and a girl in the middle of the mansion grounds. What a weird sight.
Teddy smiled at her comment. He wasn't sure if she was just trying to see his powers glass as half full instead of half empty or if she was just trying to keep his spirits light by making a few very nice comments. Either way he didn't really mind it. He was glad that someone had a different way of looking at his power than he did. He often seemed to get melancholy about it because he didn't have anyone to practice it with. It didn't help that he was hardly able to explore the real talent of the Danger Room because he hadn't been old enough for a while but now that he was old enough he didn't have anyone to use it with. Maybe she would be able to help him some day.
As they continued to struggle over the ball his foot luckily, or unluckily, got a little tangled with her foot and the ball. Down Rebecca went and down Teddy went. The ball, on the other hand, rolled away and slowly came to a stop about ten feet away from them. Ted started laughing. He wasn't hurt and it didn't seem like she was either. It wasn't a bad fall, just a little tumble. No permanent damage done. "You ok?" He asked just to make sure. Teddy untangled his leg from hers and knelt in the grass, catching his breath for a second. Now that he'd stopped running he was beginning to feel a little winded.
Rebecca was right. It was obviously not really a fighting mutation. Now he hadn't really thought of the whole spy thing. Maybe he could do that. Images of James Bond movies that he'd seen flashed briefly in his head. Needless to say, he liked what he saw. Tour the world and meet extremely hot girls? I think yes. He thought as he continued to kick the ball. Unfortunately the James Bond thoughts distracted him and the next thing he knew Rebecca had the ball.
"Really, Ah coulds sneak ye in anywhere... an' who'd question a discarded teddy bear?" He had to admit that she had a valid point. Who in their right mind besides maybe TSA would suspect a harmless looking teddy bear. Now, if they saw it walking then it would definitely raise some questions. But that was where the whole spy thing came in. You weren't supposed to be seen. Teddy chased after her and the soccer ball. Then she started explaining her mutation. He thought her's seemed pretty cool. Although, he did get a vision of a big pile of metal flying towards her and sending her flying like they did in those cartoon movies.
Teddy sensed that she was a pretty competitive person. Once she had the ball, and whenever he seemed to get to close, she would give him a bump with her hip to keep him away. He couldn't complain...For one it was a good idea, and for another, what sane guy complained about a girl bumping him with her hips? None that he knew of. Her skill, however, stood out as being way better than his. It was obvious that she knew what she was doing and he was just kind of making it up as he went. In an effort to get her attention off of the ball and back to the conversation he said, "Who do you think would be interested in a 16 yr old spy?" He knew about the X-men around the mansion, but only in rumors. He hadn't met one...or at least he didn't think he had. Most of the kids knew they went on missions every once in a while but he didn't have any clues as to what they did or who they were protecting? fighting? spying on? He really had no idea what they normally did. Maybe she could give him an idea.
Welcome back Twyla. I'm not sure if Teddy and her ever met before you left but I think itd be a cool thread to see what these two peoples mutations can get them through. I play Streak too if that would be more appealing.
"Really?! Tha's sae adorable! Ah coulds totally snuggle up wi' ye!" "Er, well, ye knoo what Ah mean."
Teddy just laughed and rolled his eyes. It was actually a common reaction that he seemed to get from girls when ever they found out his powers. He was pretty used to it by now but it didn't mean that he was any less weird for a guys mutation.
One would think he'd be better at talking to girls with a power like his but he really wasn't. Once she caught up to him and the soccer ball he said, "Ya, it just sucks that's don't get to use it a whole lot." he spun the ball off to his left and bolted that way. She almost got it from him that time. "Let's just say that a stuffed animal doesn't seem to be a whole lot of use in a fight."
It was true no matter what he tried he couldn't seem to do any damage. After all, he was just made out of cotton and maybe some beads if he was lucky. Who knows maybe she would have some way for him to train that would be useful for him. Finally he spoke again, "Whst about you? What can you do?" he hoped she wasn't sensitive about it, after all, she did bring it up first.
I like the whole du bomb thing. Could be a good way to wake everyone up at the end of the plot. Kind of like a rewind to what brought them into the plot.
As for Teddy I think he could be a very useful spy considering his powers. He might be one of the only ones that could get into the bone castle. If anyone wants to claim him as their spy or anything let me know. Also I think it'll be a cool inspiration to see how he can push himself since he's usually a pretty reserved character.
Let me know about the spy thing if anyone's interested
I like the idea. I was here for the fp plot and I'd really like to get Teddy in on this one since he wasn't around for the other. I don't really have any idea where he could go but if someone wants to take him in then that's be cool.
I think I'll keep Streak out but might bring him in if someone has a need.
