The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He could sense for a long time that she was attracted to him, and he was sure this meant a lot to her. However, it was a shame he had to lie to get back to this point, but that was a bridge he'd cross later. Or never, if he could help it.
He pulled back from the kiss as he pulled the shirt over her head, and he smirked coyly, a mischievous gleam in his eyes as he looked at her. "You know, I kind of told you it'd be senseless to get dressed," he murmured with a slight chuckle. Then, he leaned back in again, continuing the kiss just as passionately as they'd left off.

There comes a time in a man's life when he starts to wonder if he's really a good person, or just a grade-A scumbag.
For Jay, this was not that time. Here was, sitting across from a woman whom he shared a mutual attraction with, and all it would take for him to sleep with her--again, only this time without alcohol, was a little lie. Or a big lie, whatever the case may be. Either way, lying was pretty much right in Jay's reach. "Well then," he murmured, scooting a little bit closer and putting his hand on her cheek, "You don't have to be the 'other' woman." His voice was soft, yet before she could even question what he'd just said, his lips were already on a collision course with hers as his other arm pulled her closer to him, closing the gap.

He stood back up and sat next to her. "Well, I mean you were damn good," he said with a slight shrug. But she still wasn't happy with him, not in the slightest. He didn't need to be an expert on the language of the disappointed woman--and he kind of was--to realize that she was none too pleased right now.
He sighed as his mind raced, his gears turning. He knew that if he went down this road, there was no going back. And yet...here he was. He was already in deep, and the shovel was still in hand, so he may as well dig deeper.
"So what if you didn't have to be the other woman?" he asked, leaning in. He was lying, of course, but...if they weren't going to do this, then he might as well take advantage of the situation while he could.

And she was shaking her head at him, great. Not that the canine-shifter wasn't used to that sort of reaction. It just....wasn't the kind of reaction he liked to get from the person he'd just slept with. But, he did learn something: apparently him having a girlfriend was the only reason this hadn't happened sooner. Or more often.
He sighed, nodding in agreement. "I guess you're right," he murmured. "But I have to admit, it was kinda worth it," he complimented before standing to his feet and bending over to pick up his shirt. He then walked over to where his pants were, right in front of Zoe, and bent down, unintentionally giving her quite the view as he picked them up.

Okay so maybe she wasn't as used to this type of thing as he was; as noted by the aversion and the blush. And yet, despite his encouragement, she still insisted on covering up. He knew that wasn't what she'd asked, per se, but he kind of enjoyed messing with her. It was kind of adorable, really.
He sat on the couch, sipping his coffee while waiting on her, and when she came out....damn she'd gotten dressed already. And then she was asking him to at least put some underwear on. Point taken. With a slight chuckle, he took the boxers and slipped them on. "Does this mean no encore?" he asked with a slight snicker as he looked over at her with a twinkle in his eyes.
Hey, what's done was done, right? Well, that was his philosophy, anyway. Old dogs, new tricks, old habits died hard, that sort of thing.

He chuckled lightly as she scooted away then tried to be all modest. "You know, we've already gone past this point. You don't necessarily have to cover up," he said with a smirk. Besides, it's not like he wouldn't want to see that again. He sat up, looking at her as the blanket slid off of him.
"Well, first...I need to brew some coffee. You want some?" he asked as he stood to his feet, not bothering to find his clothes. "After that, well...it depends." Making his way to the kitchen, he got the coffee pot ready and made enough for the two of them, and then some. It was going to be a pretty long morning otherwise. Then, he made both of them a cup, setting them down on the coffee table before plopping on the couch.

"Exactly. We're stronger than that," he said with a wink as he turned fully to look at her. "Well, I've been doing this for several years; I'd hope I was some good by now," he teased lightly.
But now he was just confused. Black Jellybeans? What kind of blasphemy was this? "Well, I guess I've got a store run to make," he said with a sigh. "I'm not sure what she's getting at, but...she better reimburse me for this.." Jason grumbled as he grabbed his jacket, gave Lee a passionate kiss goodbye, then made his way to the store.
Which was...surprisingly uneventful. He bought the jellybeans, which took him like an hour to find, then an hour back home. With a grumble, he pushed open the door and set the bag of jellybeans on the counter. "That was the biggest load of bull****..." he grumbled.

Jay looked over again as he felt stirring next to him. He still somewhat felt like crap, but there was something in her tone. Awkwardness? A tinge of regret? Who knew?
Maybe she was reeling like he was, but he didn't think she'd had nearly that many. Though, he *did* remember exay what had happened, some of the how and the why was lost on him. But that was to be expected.
Giving her a shrug, he forced a wink as he rolled over on his side. "From the looks of it, I'd say we damn sure did," he said with a chuckle. He needed to get up and get coffee going, but he didn't want to move, so...he just lay right there as he was.

***Fade to Black***
Jay had no idea what time it was, but he did know that he had one hell of a hangover after the night before. His head was pounding, and he was for the most part, pretty well miserable. However, the hung-over canine shifter did notice a couple of things: One, the bed was rather comfy, and two, the body next to him was rather warm and comfortable as well.
His eyes adjusted to the room, and he realized that it was Zoe lying next to him, and he somewhat had to smile. He felt a twinge of guilt in the pit of his stomach though, but with Jay....that was a feeling that tended to come and go rather quickly. Ah well.
With a smug, half-sleepy smile--or what passed for one in this state, he snuggled a little closer to the blonde girl.

Jason looked up when prodded, and smiled when met with arms around his neck and a quick kiss. "Yeah, we need to think clearly. If we let her get to us, she's going to have us where she wants us," he said thoughtfully.
He flashed a mischievous grin. "Damn straight I'm good at my job," he said confidently as he adjusted his glasses. His phone vibrated, and both pairs of eyes drifted towards it. Tentatively, he picked up his phone and looked at it; it was from Gladys. After reading the text, he showed it to Lee.
'If you want to keep your little secret safe, do everything I say. Go to the shop down the street and buy a pound of black licorice jellybeans.'
"What do you think? Should we play her game? I hate licorice...."

His fingers danced along her back as his other hand tangled more into her hair, pulling her close to him as they kissed. It was wrong, but at the same time it was kind of exciting. His heart pounded in his chest as he felt his face flushing hot. The hand in her hair moved to rest on her cheek as she turned towards him.
This whole thing reeked of alcohol and bad decisions, but more often than not, it was the bad decisions that were the most fun, wasn't it? He smirked behind the kiss; maybe he knew full well what he was doing, maybe he didn't. But hell, there'd be plenty of time to regret this in the morning.

Jay smiled as their eyes met, as his eyes drifted down the figure of the beautiful across from him. This was wrong. He knew it was wrong. Well, somewhere deep down he knew. But right now, that part of his brain just wasn't clicking. Especially not after she pulled him back in for another kiss.
His arms fingers danced down her back, then back up as one hand tangled in her blond hair. He knew deep down they'd both wanted this, and in this case...with the beer clouding both of their better judgments, it looked like temptation was winning this round. Jay broke the kiss, trailing kisses down her cheek, and down her neck, before going back up to her lips again, pulling her close.

Jay's conscience had flicked off as soon as their lips met. It was sad to say, but that was how his mind worked in a *sober* state. In his current state....he was doomed. And that wasn't even factoring in that her arm wrapped around his neck and the blanket slipped off of her back as she deepened the kiss.
She moaned, and he moaned back as he slid the blanket the rest of the way off of her as he let his hands roam her mostly bare back, making quick work of the bra and tossing it to the floor on top of the blanket.
Pulling back, he looked into her eyes, and part of him wondered what the hell he was doing. But that wasn't the part that had any say in the matter.

Jay sat down, and after a moment started struggling to get his boxers on, but he couldn't help but take a glance at Zoe every now and then. It was odd, and he knew this was not the kind of situation they needed to be in, all things considered. But between the beers(he'd lost count how many) and sheer dumb luck, or un-luck...here they were. Him stark naked--and working on fixing that, yet failing, and her wrapped in a blanket.
And then her lips touched his. It was very gentle, and yet...
His arms wrapped around her, pulling her close as the influence of the alcohol took over. One hand ran gently through her hair before coming to a stop on her cheek while the other wrapped around her back.

Why he'd sat and thought about where his underwear would be instead of actually looking for them, he didn't know. But apparently that didn't matter as not long after he'd sat down, Zoe had sat next to him, still wrapped in nothing but the blanket.
"Heh, well, I kinda of misplaced my boxers when I shifted...so I'm not going anywhere until I find those, I guess," he said with a dry chuckle before standing up and actually making a move to look for them. Not under the table, not under the chair...he walked back to the couch, looking under it, and then passed by Zoe to look behind it.
He sat back down, his boxers now in hand, then looked at her with a sheepish grin. "Now if I could only find my socks..." he gave another dry chuckle.
