The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He noticed the blush, but he didn't necessarily say anything. He knew what he wanted to say, what he wanted to do, and what he needed to, and they were two completely different things. At the same time....she wasn't saying or doing anything either, though he did catch the blanket slipping.
Jay's mind was racing, and his heart pounding, but she had said it wasn't an invitation to join her, and he'd gotten his peek, so...he gave a nod. "Sorry, again," he murmured, slowly turning and opening the door as he made his way to the living room. Then, he began looking for his clothes, the door wide open. His shirt and pants were easy enough, but his socks and boxers were another story. He sighed, just sitting on the couch naked for a bit as he thought for a moment as to where they might have ended up during the shift.

"Yeah, I kinda realize that now," Jay said with a slight blush. "Well, yeah I'm sure we've both thought about it, but uh..." His mind was sort of racing, and he purposed himself to go redress, say his goodbyes, and go home.
Yet, he didn't leave. He just stood there, looking at her for a moment. "I'm really uh....sorry," he said, not breaking his gaze from her this time as he spoke. "If it's all the same, though...you're still stunning. Even without the dress," he winked, maybe digging the hole a little bit deeper and making this whole thing a little bit more awkward as he backed towards the door, and accidentally pushed it. It didn't close, but it came pretty close to it.

The fox stood half in the doorway, watching as the dress came off. But then the door creaked, and Zoe was freaking out and covering up. So maybe it was for the best he'd decided to be more covert about this after all. So he tried to explain and apologize, though it didn't take him long to realize or remember that foxes weren't in Zoe's language repertoire.
Well then. So, he shifted back and put his hands up in sort of a display of peace. "Sorry...I wasn't sure if the open door was an invitation or not...but now I know it wasn't, so I should probably..."
He sort of backed towards the door a little, flashing her a sheepish grin.

"I can tell; the blue eyes on the greyscale sketch look amazing," he complimented as he smiled over at her. "I admit that is kind of cool. Though you've helped me get even more shifts, and I don't know how to repay you for that, much less this," he said with a smile. Thoug Then....well, she got up to go change, but the door wasn't quite closed all the way. Could that have been an invitation? Honestly, he wasn't sure. She hadn't told him no after all. This was so freaking confusing. But...even still this was too hard to resist. Though it did cross his mind to play it safe. And he did.
Of course his idea of playing it safe was shifting into a Fennec fox, which left his clothes on the couch. Then, he crept towards the door, the big-eared little canine poking its head through the crack in the door. But he misstepped a little and the door creaked open a little farther than intended...

Jay waited patiently as he thought. Or rather, what would constitute thought in his current state. But those thoughts went away when he saw what she'd brought as she sat next to him.
"Damn..." he said, letting out a low whistle as he looked it over. "That's really good. Is that supposed to be me? Though, it does explain why you wanted to see me as a wolf so much," he mused. "I think it's perfect as it is," he said with a smile, gently setting it on the coffee table. "Thanks."

"Yeah, I wasn't about to wait and see what levels he'd have stooped to though," Jay said, occasionally looking over his shoulder, though mildly surprised by the arm around his waist. Sure, he wasn't a savory type of guy by any means, but he knew to take no for an answer, even though Zoe hadn't technically given him a no. What he hated was when a guy didn't know when to quit, especially when said guy harassed a girl that Jay himself had sworn to 'save.'
The road to her apartment was a familiar one, and though it took Zoe a second to get inside, he instantly made himself at home once in. He made his way to the couch, shedding his jacket and his shoes, propping his feet on the coffee table. He made himself comfortable, relaxing considerably as he waited for her.
He looked down at his fist and laughed a little. That was going to hurt tomorrow...

Jay nodded, not wanting this to escalate farther. After all, he kind of liked this place, and he was already banned from the Trasheteria, so he'd wanted to have one place in the city where he could default on for a good drink. Besides, being banned from bars was not how you got a band gigs, after all.
Jay was snapped out of his adrenaline rush by Zoe grabbing his arm. "Yeah, let's get outta here. I like this place, after all," he said with a smile, pulling her close and walking rather briskly with her out of there. They were now on the street, slightly--or more than slightly--affected by the alcohol they'd been consuming. There was no way that could go wrong, right?
"So....since our fun night at the bar is over...you want me to walk you home? At least in case Prince Charming decides to follow you," he said with a shrug. "And you did say you wanted to show me something, anyway."

Jay sighed as her hand had left his chest, and now she was leaving. He knew he messed up, though he couldn't figure out whether the mistake was kissing her, or telling her he wasn't single. Maybe there was still a shred of decency in him somewhere after all. Or maybe it was just the beer. Who knew at this point?
"Yeah, I'll be in touch. Sorry about...you know. Be safe, okay?" he looked at her apologetically, but showing real concern for her safety. He turned back to his beer as she left. He sighed, deciding to wallow in his regret.
But then he picked up Zoe's name in the hubub of the bar, and turned to see her being harrassed by the loser from before. Great. Well...since he wasn't a total ass, he had promised he'd bail her out. Pulling his walled out of his back pocket, he slapped more than enough money on the counter for his tab and a tip, then downed the rest of his beer--no need in letting it go to waste--and made his way over to the other side of the bar.
Once he made it, he didn't miss a step and landed a right hook square to David's jaw. "I think she said no," he replied. He figured he was about to get thrown out, hence the paying his tab before he got up.

She really knew how to ask the tough questions, didn't she? He sighed, again breaking eye contact. "Well...yeah," he said, his voice trailing off. "Maybe I was wrong..." he said, retreating into his beer for the time being.
The awkwardness of the situation began to set in and he merely sat in silence, drinking on his beer. It was going to be his final one, but now he may as well get hammered. He sighed deeply. He and Zelda were something special, but damn if he didn't wanna go ahead and get that dress off of Zoe...
Love was hard.
He looked over at Zoe, giving another light shrug as he took another sip of beer.

He chuckled lightly. "Well I do tend to get my clothes back soon after losing them, if you get my drift," he said, his voice still dripping with that signature charm. "Well, if I find you're in a situation you can't get out of, yeah," he said with a smile.
She returned his kiss, but only briefly before he found himself being pushed away and her blushing slightly. The way she said his name....that wasn't good. Well, he'd tried, right. His gaze averted for a moment, but then he looked right back at her, shrugging lightly with that sheepish grin again.

"Eh, just follow the trail of clothes and look for blue eyed dogs," he said with a chuckle. Jay knew he stuck out like a sore thumb in this place, but he was more keen on following the band's dress code than the bar's. Besides, the band dress code was pretty much exactly what he normally wore, so there was no math to be done there.
"I actually did. And that sounds like a good idea. I get a show, then I get to swoop in and save the day," he said smoothly. "Well, this is true. I am the only one who's experienced you first hand," he replied with another wink. And then, the smile widened and she walked right into his little quip.
Too easy. Again, maybe it was the beer, or maybe it was just him being him, or maybe it was both. "Well, there are a couple ways..." he murmured, leaning in as his lips met hers in a rather tender, much anticipated kiss.

"I'll be sure to. It'd be a shame to have your number and never use it," he said as he looked her over. Maybe it was the beer talking, or maybe he was just using that as an excuse. Either way, he planned on having fun with this, even if it didn't exactly go where he'd like it to. Hanging out with Zoe was rather fun, after all.
"Yeah, I probably should have, but you showed you can handle yourself rather well. I kinda enjoyed the way you handled him, to be honest. Granted, with all due respect, do you really expect anyone to understand what you do like I can?" he asked, finishing his beer and asking for another. "Though I'd say it is quite good for me," he said with a smirk.
"Yeah, blind dates tend to suck. Maybe what you need is just some time to blow off some steam. Let loose, have a little fun."

"Sorry about that; life kinda gets hectic, ya know? But it's nice to see you, especially like this," he said as he looked her over. He gave her a sheepish smile, not that there was anything sheepish about him. "Well, I do have pretty good hearing; I was trying to find a way to bail you out, but it seems like he did that all by himself," he said quietly as he took a sip.
"Well, it's a damn shame no one else has. But at the same time, maybe that's good for me," he said with a wink. "Thanks. I'm glad you finally got to hear what all the fuss is about," he said, winking again. Oh, the charm was saturating his voice like syrup over pancakes.
Then David had to butt in, but Zoe did a really nice job of shutting him down. What a loser.
Jay looked over at her with a smile. "Nice work," he said quietly with a smirk.

Jay noticed she was about to leave, but thankfully she'd heard him, recognized him, and turned around. And she grabbed her beer on her way over; he knew there was something he liked about her. He shrugged at her question. "You know how life gets sometimes, nothing personal," he said with a smile and a wink as she came over and joined him at the bar while he finished his beer.
"Anytime. And, let's just say I heard the fat lady warming up; that guy was done a long time ago." He gave another dry laugh as he looked her over. "You look really stunning tonight, if you don't mind me saying," he told her sincerely. "Though I'm glad you actually got to see me play."

Jay could tell this guy was really getting to her, once he'd zoomed in on the conversation. The canine-shifter knew full well this was a battle the poor sap would not be able to win. And he very well didn't, as Zoe quite plainly told the guy it wasn't going to work out. Good for her. Or maybe good for him? Hell, it was likely going to be good for both of them. He hoped.
After she'd politely told the guy to bug off--or something of that nature, he wouldn't have been that nice about it, but eh--he turned as if to let his eyes scan the bar. And when he saw her, he perked up as if he'd just realized it was her there.
"Zoe? Hey! Long time no see," he said smoothly, subtly indicating the empty seat right next to him at the bar. Maybe it was a dick move, but that guy started it. Dave, she'd said his name was? Yeah, that was a dick name. He deserved to have his date stolen.
