The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Celeste leaned against one of the tables as she prepared to listen to her favorite teacher. It was exciting, being able to confide and joke to a teacher like this. It definitely wasn't something she was expecting in her life. Instead of leaning on one of the tables, she decided to sit on top of it, looking towards Mr. Holloway.
She nearly blushed at his compliment, "Well... Thank you, Mr. Holloway. I didn't really think I'd ever end up in a position to do something incredible like that... But it happened. Kinda funny how everything falls together." She gave a playful grin, "Unlike my art work, eh." She chuckled quietly at her self-deprecating joke.
She nodded with a smile, "That's what I hope the world is like in the future. We need to get over this division and really... Well, like you said, bridge the divide." She perked a brow, "Really? Like who?" She wasn't sure what he meant by that. She figured he was just complimenting her but she couldn't quite understand why people would really take notice of that? Maybe her college? Would that be a good thing or a bad thing, actually?
Her face became pretty serious as she contemplated his question, "I... I actually have, yes. I haven't officially confirmed it but I was thinking of doing maybe a double major in political science and public administration." She shrugged a little, "Maybe that's crazy, though?"
Celestina nodded her agreement. It was crazy unbelievable and immature. But, people react differently over some pretty crazy things. One time she was in a drive thru at McDonalds in Canada and a guy started cussing her out. It didn’t really make sense, but the guy probably had some type of issue and was just taking it out on her. She had done the same thing to others.
She smiled and nodded, patting her on the back. “Larraine, you can have a normal life. You will have a normal life. A normal life can include embracing your abilities.” She gave her a smile. Celeste truly believed the words that she said – Larraine was going to have one. It took time for all the pieces to fall together, but eventually she would. It took a long time for Celeste’s life to fall into place, but here she was. She was thriving despite only being in the U.S. for about half a year.
She smiled, “You are. Well, there’s always a time for a first,” she teased. Hopefully, she wouldn’t take any offense to the small playful joke. Celeste doubted that was true, but some people have some pretty heart-breaking background. She nodded, “We are.”
She nodded slowly as she listened to Larraine explain that she had, indeed, heard of the Institute. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to join, or if they even would accept her. Celeste chewed her lip as she thought of the best way to reply to the young woman. She waited for the woman to stop speaking as she continued to explain her thoughts to Celeste.
Celeste nodded and made a couple mhmms as she spoke until Larraine trailed off, not knowing what she really should do. Celeste took a breath, “Well. First, let me tell you they will accept you. I know they will – that’s a big reason of why they exist. If you can’t control your powers, they will help you learn how too. If you are dangerous, they will help you become less dangerous. It’s kind of their job. I was lucky because I was able to train myself during my youth. You should go. It will help you get started on the right track, put a roof over your head, give you the ability to learn how to master your abilities.” She smiled, “I really think it will be worth it, Larraine.”
Once Celeste arrived at the area where the books Nyssa would be, she pulled them out and handed them over to her. She made a mental note that the books would be checked out and maybe some other ones could replace it at a later time. After all, Harry Potter books took a longgg time to read through. Unless she had a lot of time on her hand, which was pretty plausible in actuality.
She nodded as she listened, "Oh, very nice. That's good, really good!" She laughed a little and nodded, taking a look around the library. "It is a very big library, but it'll have all you ever hoped for. Except, maybe the library of congress? Not sure." She shrugged a little.
She grinned and nodded, "Yeahhh, that'll take you a while to get through. Those are just some good books, especially if you like some fantasy. The Lovely Bones is pretty... Depressing, though, so just be aware."
The woman seemed nice and nonthreatening, but in New York City, anyone and everyone had to be a bit careful. Otherwise, they might get themselves in a tricky situation. She smiled, "I'm Celestina. Celeste for short. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Celeste put down her pencils and walked over to where Nate was standing. They tended to have pretty great conversations, so she wasn't one to pass one up with him. In all honesty, he would probably be the closest person she had to an actual friend at the mansion. Sure, she had 'friends' in the sense that they were acquaintances, but mostly she was just friendly. It was in her personality. A true friend was found in people like Marisol, Jude, Nate, Booker, Vanessa.
She nodded a confirmation, "It's okay, though, my terrible drawing skills will surely be torture enough." She chuckled, joking of course. She wasn't the best artist, but she followed his instructions to a T. Some people just weren't born with that type of talent. In either case, she actually enjoyed drawing (despite always hating how it always turned out,) mainly because it was just relaxing. Not that she'd ever admit that, though.
She leaned against one of the desks as she listened to him talk. She could relate to the easy, coasting into college. Many of her classmates already had that senior year high. It was something Celeste wished she could get, but she was too busy doing things. She had responsibilities, things to do, places to go, things to learn. Why would she get complacent now? It looks like Nate had heard about her march. She blushed at the compliment. She grinned a little, "Well... The whole mutant, coma thing was completely unplanned, unlike the other two."
She smiled and blushed again at the comment, "Probably reckless and stupid. But hey, my bet paid off. They calmed down. Power of tongues and crap." She shrugged a little, trying to downplay her accomplishments. She wasn't one to brag but... "It was a really great march. It turned out nearly perfect, despite that little hiccup. But, I couldn't have done it without you know, the other organizers, the people who showed up."
She gave Elliott a smile. They barely knew each other but had already been through the rags together. Maybe it was going to be the start of a good, long friendship. Hopefully with less violence, though. Celeste could do without the violence. She was, after all, more of non-violent kind of person. Desperate times call for desperate measures, though.
She smiled as he prepped the band-aid and she went ahead and placed the ice pack on his head, where she beat him with a helmet. She winced internally at the thought. She at least took the guy out, though. That was a plus. She smiled at the blushing and nearly blushed herself as she took the band-aid with her free hand and placed it on her cut. She sighed a little, ordering a coke and a strawberry milkshake. Weird combo, but screw it. It had been a wild day.
Marisol made this look so easy. Celeste just smiled as she watched her - this was her natural habitat, her place, where her passion & dreams were coming true. Truly, Marisol was bound to end up on Broadway. Celeste could feel it in her bones. Granted, it was still a wild ride to see Marisol this... Confident. Maybe shew as just into her role as Chandler? That might explain why she was so... Brave, about everything. It was just going to be weird seeing timid Marisol in that type of outfit. In either case, it ultimately didn't matter. Marisol had the beauty for it, plus the talent.
Yeahhhh, she totally was nervous for Marisol. That was definitely why she was so nervous. "A little skin doesn't hurt," she chuckled nervously as she leaned against one of the dressing tables. "California girl, should have known you'd be a beach babe." She winked, not entirely realizing what she said until after it was too late. She'd probably just take it as a... Regular, compliment thing, anyways. Celeste nervously chuckled but then Marisol asked her another question - was anyone else from the diner going to be in attendance?
She nodded, "Barb is here. You know she wouldn't miss it for the world. None of the back room guys are coming, jack *sses. Probably too busy smoking weed or something." She shrugged, "A couple of the girls are coming, though. Tracy, Bianca of course." She shrugged, "That's the only ones I know are coming." She winked, "Just remember: I'll always be your biggest non-family fan out there." She checked her watch, "Oh. I better get going. You're going to do great today, alright?" It wasn't like Marisol needed any comfort - she was clearly ready for it. She squeezed her shoulder as she bundled her jacket up.
Celeste nodded slowly and coughed a little. That made sense - maybe they weakened her, plus she had to have weakened herself by using so much power. It was remarkable she even had that much power. She probably could have changed the world if she wasn't so... Well, wicked.
"Oh... That is pretty awesome, actually. Her power was pretty cool, honestly. Gravity things? Pretty nifty way to do things..."
She perked a brow and stared for a second, "Hold on... Zombies? Zombies actually happened or was it just in peoples mind, like this... This crap that happened to us?"
Celestina took a deep breath. He had asked her the d word. She said she would love to go on a date with him. She even said she considered this a date. Kind of, at least.
>> "What?"
She nodded, but perked a brow. What what? Did she say something not understandable? It seemed like it came out in proper English. Maybe it hadn't? Maybe she thought it had but it didn't? She was a little nervous, so maybe it was just quiet and muffled?
>> "I... am an idiot. I just-- You caught me off guard and you're so smart and funny and I like you."
Oh. He had heard her and understood. That was a relief. She smiled as she listened to him, her cheeks warm and her heart and stomach in a ditsy. How could he be that cute? She wasn't sure, but she was pretty much lost in him as she listened to Jude. The rest of the world didn't seem really important, not at the moment. After all, it was just her, him, and the ferris wheel cart. What a perfect combination.
>> "I like you."
She smiled and her skin tingled as she felt his free hand touch her skin. It was a good tingle, one that she could really get use to. Her eyes darted towards his lips before she looked into eyes. She leaned in, giving him a soft kiss. She leaned back, her cheeks very blushed. "And I like you," she whispered with a smile. She looked away, "Um, sorry... I-I don't know if that was okay, or soon, or whatever..." she muttered. Did she really just kiss him? She kicked herself mentally, hoping she didn't just screw things up.
Selestina slammed down her Redheaded Slut. It was the only heavy drink she was going to have tonight – after all, she had a lot of work to do. It was just enough to get her breath enough alcohol on it to seem like she was just any other patron at the bar. Enough to not worry about failure – not that it was an option, anyways. He’ll think she was just an innocent mistake, a guilty fantasy that he accidentally indulged in. She smiled to herself as she stood, waiting, seemingly into the music that was echoing in the background.
She stood close to the bar, keeping her eyes out for Poseidon. She had some information about the heralded new CEO of what was its name? Not important, really, just a banking company. She skimmed through some on his profile – not enough to know about him like someone would, just enough to seem like an admirer. Maybe a fellow banking associate that heard about him. Maybe she’d even pretend she had no idea. In either case, Mr. Gregory Anton. Mr. Anton. Heh, so many strategies to decide once she finally caught a glimpse of him.
Considering the importance of the occasion (and the rarity of seeing Poseidon herself,) Selestina decided to go all out in her outfit for the night. She wore a tight, crimson red mini dress with a heavy emphasis on her breasts. Of course, also her *ss. He might be a butt guy, after all. She couldn’t let a big CEO guy (or Poseidon) down with something too classy, after all. While she wanted to impress the guy she was suppose to work on, she also wanted to impress her boss. Mmm.
Selestina knew when her time would come – she just had to wait for it. Like clockwork, she heard Poseidon over the sound of music, shots clanking, and girls and guys trying to sing. She gave a flirtatious smile in return to Poseidon as he went off after Tommy, the bartender.
Selestina knew how this gig worked – it wasn’t the first time she seduced a guy. It definitely wasn’t new territory for him to a business man. Although, banking was a new industry to hop into. She gave him a look over as Poseidon stepped away. She needed to figure some things about him out. He seemed kind of timid. Probably boring in bed, really. That was a bummer, she was hoping she could at least have some fun with the guy. He might’ve been married – seemed like it. Probably worked late nights, wife and the kids asleep. Probably unsatisfied, bored. Of course, all an assumption - a big stereotype that could easily be wrong.
She gave Mr. Gregory Anton an enticing, flirtatious smile as she sailed in front of him, letting her perfume hover near him. He was in a business suit, but Selestina made sure he almost felt her touch him. Just close enough for their body heat to hit. “Oh, hello there,” she murmured to him, “I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before… I’m sure I would have remembered you.” She made sure his focus would easily be distracted to her breasts and she leaned back against the bar, letting one of her legs nearly rug against his.
He nearly squirmed – it was always so much fun, the chase. Mr. Gregory Anton quickly muttered, “O-Oh… I am just on a business trip.” He seemed to nod, hoping that would be the end of their conversation. Selestina had different plans in mind. “Oh? A business trip? You’re the new CEO everyone has been talking about? I'm involved in the industry and... Absolutely love seeing your success. You are an inspiration.” Clearly a lie, but one to appease his inner side. She changed the subject slightly, not wanting him to start asking about her supposed ‘work’ place. “What is a guy like you doing here? I come here for,” she licked her lips, slowly glancing over him, “A good time.”
He was getting a little red – from blushing? “O-Oh, maybe we can talk after my meeting, yeah?” Selestina grinned like a lioness finding her prey: she had him.
Celeste mind wandered off, her mind imaging Marisol in a sweet, red, lacey bra. Red looked good on her. Really good on her. She shook her head more to herself and realized Marisol had said something. She perked a brow and looked at her with a confused expression before it hit her what she said. “Oh… Yeah, totally! It’s up to you.” It’s not like anyone else would see. Luckily, it looked like Mari was so into character already that she didn't really notice Celeste stumbles, stares, and everything else. That was a good sign, at least.
She perked a brow, clearly confused as she watched Mari leave and then come back with a bag with HC#2 on it. She wasn’t sure what surprise lay within it, but when Mari pulled it out she nearly had a heart attack. “You’re going to be wearing that in front of everyone? W-wow.” She stuttered out. Marisol would look really good in it – red already complimented her really well. She nodded, “You are going to look absolutely gorgeous in this, Marisol. Not that you already don't, of course.” She checked it out carefully, not wanting to accidentally mess it up (somehow.)
Celeste was finally adjusting to confident, theater ready Mari. It might have took a few moments, but she could tell she was adjusting – minus the flutters that erupted every now and then.
She nodded her agreement and then shrugged a little, “I think Heather would go lacey too, but again, I’m sure no one else is going to see it besides me and the other people changing back here. None of the… Audience? Will.” Celeste was secretly grateful she didn’t go lacey, though, because the mental imagine had Celeste getting all sorts of strange feelings.
She nodded, “I’m sure it was just the nerves. You guys got this, hands down.” She gave her a big smile, “I know you guys do. Plus, this is your space. You know how to do everything and more.” She knew it wouldn’t Mari that screwed the play up if something went wrong, that was for sure.
She nodded, “Yeah, I’ll see it. What do you mean by uh, prepare it? Do I need to iron it or something?” She asked, timidly and nervously. She wasn’t really sure how it worked backstage. Could she even come back here during intermission?
Celeste gave Mari the biggest grin Celeste could possibly give at the moment. Marisol seemed to into what she was doing, so confident, it took her by surprise. It wasn’t a bad thing at all – in fact, it warmed Celeste’s heart to see her so strong, confident, and well gorgeous. It took a moment, but once Celeste wasn’t focused on, well, her best friends breasts, she nodded her approval before checking the half outfit that Mari was wearing. “I love the hair. And the outfit. And the bra, actually. Is that Victoria secret?” She asked. There. Now Mari wouldn’t think it was weird she was staring at her breasts a few moments beforehand. It was clearly about the bra. Right?
She shrugged and brushed the compliments off, “Well, thanks, Mari, I appreciate that. Not nearly as gorgeous as you, though!” She teased. She nodded and began to remove the coat with Mari. Unfortunately, Mari did so in a way that brought a small sharp pain to her. It was a pain that Celeste had learned to maneuver around when she put her jackets on. She gave a weak smile and nodded, “It’s fine. It is still sensitive, just a little sore still. It’s healing really well, though. My skin, were the bruises were, is finally getting back to a normal color. Finally.”
Once her coat was off, she placed it on a nearby coat rack and moved over to lean next to Mari. “Well, you’re my favorite star. And you’re destined for big things.” She squeezed Mari’s hand, ignoring the fluttering in her heart. “Siobhan? Right?” She probably butchered the name, but at least she tried. “I’m glad to hear. She’s so quiet at school, I kinda worry about her.” She sighed a little, “Kinda nice to be able to disappear, though.” She muttered that more to herself than anyone else. She grinned towards Mari, “So, how prepared is everyone? Are you guys ready? I know you and Siobhan are, but what about the rest?”
Celeste nodded. She was glad he understood her complicated feelings on coffee. Plus, it wasn’t like she needed it for energy, anyways. She was tired all the time and still had a pretty hard time sleeping.
She perked a brow and her eyes widened a little. He thought that was a great idea? She wasn’t sure if it was a great idea. It was too late to back out now, though, he had already taken her coffee. It was time to twirl and see where she landed.
With a grin towards Dan, she covered her eyes with her right hand and began twirling herself until she got a little dizzy. Once slightly dizzy, she stopped and nodded, “This way!” It looked like this would actually take them further towards the downtown area of New York City – where the big, big skyscrapers were.
(No worries!!! Take your time. It’s been a busy couple months.)
Celestina was about to start her work – but decided to stop as she took her phone out and looked through some music options. She sighed, wanting to listen to music but deciding that she didn’t know what to listen too. She put the phone down to the side and picked up a grey colored pencil and began to do some outlines of her late assignments.
Mr. Holloway had solidified his position as her favorite teacher in the Mansion ever since she began school there. He helped her through a tough time when she was lost – she didn’t know which direction, how to use her powers for good, but he had guided her when she needed help the most. He pushed her to do her best in art, even though she was definitely not the best in art. He was encouraging and didn’t make her feel bad about her crappy paintings. He was a great teacher, but also a great person.
But still, f*ck Mariah.
Celeste didn’t even hear him walking towards the classroom. She did hear the knock on the door frame and with a slight jump, Celeste took a deep breath. It was just Mr. Holloway. She laughed, slightly nervously mainly due to the sudden fright. She gave him a playful grin, “I know, sooo heartless. Couldn’t cut me even the slightest slack.” She was clearly joking – and not like she would be one to even slack off to begin with. Even if he told her she didn’t have to do the assignments, she still probably would have.
Celeste couldn’t wait to see Marisol perform tonight. She knew Mari had been looking forward to it ever since she began – and she even seemed to be making several friends within the theater. That was even better. Celeste wanted the best for her bestest friend. This marked that greatness – after all, she was bound to be on Broadway sooner than later.
Celeste eyes widened as she saw Marisol – shirtless aside from a bra – run over to her and hugged her relatively tightly. She wasn’t entirely sure why but the sudden sight and the warmth of Marisol’s skin as she touched her in the hug made her feel… Butterflies. Also, slight painful discomfort due to healing stab wound and bruises that almost gone. Celeste nervously giggled, “Of-Of course I’d come. Who do you think I am, some jerk?” She stumbled out of her mouth as the hug ended. “I’m so excited to see you, too.”
Celeste immediately turned a deep blushing red at the sudden onslaught of compliments from Mari. She timidly waved her hands, “Oh, you, I mean, it’s just my usual kind of dresses…” A nervous giggle later, “It is a nice dress, though, eh.” Too hot to handle? Did Mari just hit on her… And wink?! Firstly, what happened to her best friend? Secondly, why did her stomach feel like there was enough butterflies in her stomach to have a collection? It wasn’t the first time Mari had caused certain… Feelings to rouse inside her. But this time it hit her surprisingly fast. Probably because of that cute, little bra… Celeste quickly averted her eyes from Mari’s chest.
It was like her feelings with Jude, really. Did she have a crush on her best friend? She really liked Jude and that didn’t change nor her desire to be with him…. But was she actually… Bi? Like a girl? Like Mari? In that way? Celeste wasn’t sure ever since that cheek kiss but the feelings now nearly confirmed it. Sh*t.
“I’m so excited!!! I can’t believe I’m actually going to be watching and even knowing the star in a play! AHHH!!!” She squeed a little in excitement. She was tremendously excited to see Mari play – with or without these strange feelings.
