The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Leon watched the bartender get a bottle of clear liquid and one of a startlingly green one. If he was a betting man, he would have probably said the everclear was the clear one, but he was not about to state the obvious. The absinthe though was a color that almost made him think of some form of chemical cleaner. Had to be strong stuff then. The bartender poured the two together, and Leons sense of smell picked up the herbal and anise scent along with the alcohol. "What is in that?" he asked, slightly curious as to what gave it that color.
He took it in his hand, a bit more wary of the effects the strong alcohal would have going down, and drank more sparingly this time around. Not that it helped all that much, diving into the deep end wasn't going to build up a tolerance for that kind of kick. He coughed again as it burned going down, his eyes watering slightly, as it left its strong flavor that he could only describe as green as it looked.
He listened as Elliott spoke of his origin, though he had no idea if he was actually pulling one over on him or not. "Stranger things have happened." he said, honestly not in the least bit surprised after the week he had had, and if another dimension existed, sure, why not aliens as well.

Leon had no idea what everclear or absinthe were, but at least they sounded more like something an alcohol would be named. "I don't think I need to worry about that," he responded to the comment about having a death wish. If he wasn't feeling anything now, and the last drink at least burned enough to confirm the strength of it, it was likely that his body was indeed breaking it all down. "Everclear and absinthe," he said to the bartender, guessing those two were likely the strongest he would find. "Name's Leon," he said, "I don't really care about the taste, I just want something that might get my mind off... things." he didn't go into much more detail, his life was a mess, everything he knew was in conflict, and he had no idea where to go with it. "I'm apparently immune to alcohol poisoning," he offered, wondering if that was what they guy was worried about. May as well ease his mind in case he thought he was suicidal or something. "But who knows, maybe I'll get lucky," he said, with a large amount of sarcasm. He new his luck always tended towards the opposite of what he wanted. He had poisoned everyone close to him, lived on the streets, gotten lost in the woods, and now apparently he was the 'wrong' version of himself, so it wasn't likely he could burn out his mind with a strong drink. "What about you?" he asked, "A birthday on halloween, that's got to be... fun." he couldn't really think of anything to describe it. He never celebrated his birthday, not since he had sprouted spines, so this territory was beyond him, and he wouldn't describe any type of celebration as fun, at least not in relation to himself. He wasn't a fun person to be around.

An iced tea didn't sound all that hard a drink, but as he watched he could see that this wasn't actually ice tea, rather a specialty drink. He honestly didn't know much about different alcohol types, but the number of different liquids that went in had to mean that there had to be some potency to it. After the drink came forward, he could smell the alcohol and various ingredients not that he was all that great at identifying them by smell alone. He had gotten used to smelling for small animals after a week in the woods, hunger would do that, but he was not so good at identifying specifics.
He took the drink in a paw and made the mistake of taking a swig. He hadn't had any strong alcoholic drink before, and was unprepared for the burn that came from it. He was instantly coughing from the sheer irritation it caused going down, leaving a warm after burn. "**cough** strong stuff," he managed to get out, waiting to see if it had any effect as it his his stomach. It did leave a warm sensation, but overall if was more like eating a spicy dish then intoxication. His immune system broke down the alcohol like any other toxin, so the buzz or numbing he was hoping for never came. "Hmmm, got anything stronger," he said, a bit disappointed. True, he had already been warned about being immune to intoxication, but confirming that there was no reaction at all was disappointing all the same.

Leon was terrible when it came to social engagements, stunted by years of isolating himself, self-loathing, paranoia, and whatever other guilt he felt. But right now those things were not on his mind, even someone as hopelessly incompetent as him got distracted. "Sure, give me whatever you think will knock me out," he said with a tone of disinterested sarcasm. Honestly this guy wreaked of alcohol, obviously drunk, he may not be as well versed in distinguishing scents as his other self, but anyone could have picked that up. Not that he cared much, if something could knock him into that type of blissful lack of awareness, he would gladly throw himself into the flame. He didn't even question his appearance, between halloween and his time at the mansion, he was desensitized to anything weird looking.
He took a seat by the guy offering him a drink. absently staring at the bar, tapping his claw against the count as he mauled over his internal conundrums. "Hmmm, happy birthday..." he said with a noted lack of enthusiasm. He wasn't a celebratory type. He knew too well that a silver lining thing that was supposed to come with every cloud was a myth, and he more then his fair share of thunderstorms. Being toxic had given him a pessimistic view of reality, as in most cases anything that could have possibly gone wrong with his life had, destroying any delusions he may have had of a normal existence.

Leon wasn't one who usually went out, however the past events of getting lost in the woods and meeting his alternate self was enough to shake him enough where even the mansion seemed a bit confining and confusing for him. He wore the biker Jacket that 'Manti' had left him, which provided enough protection that he was less paranoid about his quills. His tail was still bandaged up though with brand new wrappings after his old ones had disintegrated from exposure to the elements. If it was any other night he would have probably not ventured so far, but it was Halloween, possibly the only night where his appearance could possibly go unnoticed and no one would bother him. Adjusting back to normalcy, or what transpired for normal for him, was difficult. He had spent a long time isolated and alone, after isolating himself in public, then faced what could only be described as the 'good' version of himself. It made him unsure, lost, questioning what he was and what he wanted. He had been miserable alone in the woods, just as he was miserable when around other people, but at the same time he had been free from the constant paranoia about his quills. It conflicted with his own sense of pessimism, then discovering that Manti could actually control his quills, it had him wondering if he could do the same, in spite of his former acceptance of the hopelessness of his life. So he had wondered aimlessly off campus, lost in the turmoil of his conflicting emotions, eventually finding himself in front of some random bar.
Leon hadn't ever gotten into drinking, he had always been afraid of getting drunk and doing something stupid with his quills, however, Manti had divulged the fact that his, and by extension Leon's, toxic immunity prevented him from getting drunk. So why the hell not? Even if he couldn't drink himself into a stupor, maybe if would dull something. He checked his pocket for cash, having a small some of money from saving the allowance the mansion offered, then walked in, looking at the unfamialiar line of bottle for something strong enough to possibly challenge his untested constitution.

Trying to wrap up the AV plot with Leon, which seemed to come to a grinding halt. As such I’m trying to move forward under the assumption that Leon and Manti met and Manti has since returned to his reality, leaving Leon coming to terms with the info Manti has left him and how his life could have been. The thread is open, so anyone wanting to jump in is welcome to.
Leon had been through enough in the past few weeks where his world view had been turned upside down. He had spent some time lost in the woods and come back to find an alternative version of himself living in his place. Well that was probably the wrong term, the stranger “him” had left after his return, but the incident had left him shaken and confused. This other version of him was near identical, but totally different personality wise. The incident had escalated for a bit after Leon had a bit of a nervous/mental break down, but eventually he and himself had reconciled and discussed the differences in their lives.
The only real breaking point the had found was when their powers had manifested, Leon had been traumatized by poisoning his closest friends and 'Manti' as he preferred had not. As a result Manti had become supremely self confident, while Leon had been shattered emotionally. Manti also seemed to be fully in control of his powers, he could soften his quills so they were never dangerous unless he choose them to be, something he envied. But it also raised the question of why he couldn't? They had not figured it out before Manti had left to return to his world, leaving Leon stewing over the conundrum after a long shower and a change of clothing after his time in the woods.
His jacket had been replaced, Manti had left him his bikers jacket as a souvenir, which was much tougher then his old jacket and was better at containing his quills. Leon sat on a bench in the garden, still wondering about what Manti had told him.

Leon had been miserable for the past couple weeks. He was sore, hungry, thirsty, and tired from his time spent lost in the woods. He had little shelter but what he could make with broken branches and logs he had constructed make shift shelters from while searching for the mansion, and had managed to walk in circles for the majority of his time, having no experience navigating the woods. He had managed to find water and had resorted to catching small prey in traps constructed with his quills. He had hated that the most, but it was either that or starve to death as his attempts to gather berries had provided no where near enough to fuel his lion like body. His clothes were in taters, he had abandoned his jacket, which was ruined by the moisture, rot and lack of mending, where his spikes had torn new holes. His jeans and bandages weren't looking much better, covered in dirt, dried blood and filth. His mane was tangled with leaves and twig, equally dirty, the red reduced to a rusty brown.
However, today there was one glowing note that managed to raise his spirits. He finally had found the mansion. Finally he had found his way back, though he was also angry, as it seemed the school had not come looking for him. His experience in the woods had been such that his usual manner of paranoia was drowned out by exhaustion and irritability, despite being happy about being literally out of the woods.
-------
Manti was wondering if he should give up and head back home, he honestly didn't know how long he had before the window closed on his dimension. Visiting this place had been fun, but he didn't want to become trapped, despite his curiosity about his counterpart on this side. He had been asking the students about him, much to their own confusion since he had been mistaken for the most part as this 'Leon', but from what he gathered, this version of himself was a rather reclusive individual. Few knew much about him other then what he looked like, if anything at all. Those who could give him some more detail essentially told him he seemed sad and scared all the time. Not a social person at all. That conflicted with Manti greatly, as he couldn't imagine why they would be so different personality-wise, and wondered how alike they actually were if at all. For all he know, could have been born in completely different circumstances, different home town, different financial status, heck, even race was up for debate since this was a totally different dimension. Still, he had no intentions of sacrificing his world to find out, he was ready to go home...

Manti could see the confused expression at his joke about room service on Amber's face. He was generally good at reading people due to the number of friends he hung around with, including a few with non-human features. Amber seemed the type that had a hard time with humor, which seemed to be confirmed with her comment on hunting. It made sense if she was a feral, that is, a mutant with instincts, he knew a few who had issues with that, and Amber was probably no acception. "Don't worry about, just a joke," he reassured her so she didn't overthink it. "So your a feral then?" he questioned, "I know a few, nice crowd but have a few problems of their own when it comes to instincts. There's a half deer guy who tends to zone out when confronted with headlights." he said. He didn't know if she would see the humor in that, but she could at least emphasize with those sort of issues.
"Me? I'm a bike guy myself, work in a shop fixing engines and doing body work. Built my own bike from scratch," he said proudly. He would gladly brag about his love of vehicles and the work he did. It had been a blow when his shop had seemed to disappear, but at least now he knew it was still waiting for him back home.

Manti missed his home of course, but his curiosity and confidence offset the urge to go running home strait away, but he couldn't help but find Ambers question hilarious when she asked how he was enjoying his stay, like this was a vacation. He chuckled loudly, exposing his extra rows of teeth, "Well, room service could be better," he said in a joking tone. It was easy to tell he was the type to find amusement wherever he could, and showed little if any hesitations in himself. Despite his imposing figure, he didn't give off any predatory body signals, rather he seemed just a guy in a really big body. Manti lacked any feral instincts, despite having over his fair share of animal traits. True he could be a force to be reckoned with if you got him angry, but generally this was rare considering his more sociable tendencies. "So what do you do for fun around here?" he asked, wondering if there was anything that he wouldn't find in his own world.

"Eh, no problem," said Manti, not bothered by the apparent personality of his otherworldly counterpart. If there was one extra reality, there could be thousands, and thousands of alternates, they all couldn't be lucky enough to be him. Amber's words made him think though. He and his counterpart... technically they were related by blood, seeing as it was the same blood. In a strange way, that made them... sort of like brothers. True they lacked any bond, but it was no more different then twins meeting after a separation at birth. Even if they didn't have the same personality, they had the same parents... at least it seemed likely, and they likely had some of the same interests or thought processes. So why was he so down? He wanted to meet him, at least to find that out. How different were their lives? Maybe he could help himself out.
Manti thought back at what he knew, was 'Leon' back in his world. Derek had said he had disappeared during camping, while Amber said the rift was in the city. It didn't seem likely given those points that he would have made it all the way over there. So was he just lost in the woods? "Hmmm, I think I'll stick around a little while longer, just in case." he said. If the rift was there, we was confident he could get back, but he did want to take advantage of this.

"A mansion?" queried Manti, his interest peaked anew, he had never been in a mansion before, was this kid loaded or something? He doubted it, since a rich kid would probably have better hangouts then a biker bar. "Now how can I turn down an offer like that." he said before downing the rest of his beer. He wasn't going to be getting a hangover so he didn't have to worry about how much he drank, one of the major pluses about his particular mutation.

"Wow, I sound like a real downer," said Manti, partially in jest, he didn't know this other him, he could have had a very different life. It was weird that he would be afraid of his powers, since he had no issues with his, he had never poisoned anyone by accident.
Amber's question about Ambrosia made him think about it. If everyone was mistaking him for Leon, wouldn't Amber's counterpart be just like her? While Amber smelled similar, she not only looked different, but her powers were different as well. Shapeshifting aside, he didn't know how dino shapeshifting would become fire breathing dragon. "I don't think so," he said, "I mean, Ambrosia looks different and her powers are different. You do have similar smells though. Hmmmm... maybe she's a relative?" It was the best explanation he could come up with.
A thought came to mind. "If I'm here, could 'Leon' be in my world?" he asked, a bit worried by that thought. He didn't want his relationships ruined by some misunderstanding of mistaken identity.
