The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

With the ruckus settled, Manti's anger began to settle. As peeved off as he was at these guys, they were just drunk idiots. Manti was never the vengeful type, and he wasn't going to start now, even if they did mess with his beloved bike. "Don't go too hard on them," he said, "They are just a bunch of drunk idiots." Of course, even if he was not the vengeful type, that didn't mean Ivy had to be, and they had tried to taser him.

Manti scratched his head as he thought about this whole mess he had stumbled into. Well, at least this cleared up the whole mystery. And at least this meant he wasn't crazy or missing memories. Wait, so if everyone knew him here, that meant there was another version of him. Then, where was this other him? Derek had said something about him going missing, so was he is his world? Did they switch places or something? "So, what's this other.... me like?" he asked, a bit curious. It wasn't often you were in another world, or learned there was another version of yourself with it's own life. Were they the same? Or completely different? He guessed the latter since everyone thought he was acting weird. Still, how were they different? And why? That was the real question he guessed. He loved his life the way it was, but even so he wondered what things could have been like, and this was probably the only opportunity to see how his life may be given different circumstances. With Amber saying that he could likely go back just by diving where he did before, he at least had a way home. Maybe he could stay just long enough to find out what this other Manti... well, they called him 'Leon' didn't they, he coul find out more about Leon before he went back to his life.

Manti wasn't sure he like this, having something wrong with his head was confusing enough, but being in a whole different world literally? Did this mean he was stuck here? Did it mean that he would never see his friends again, or at least the ones he remembered? By now they may even think him dead if he was missing for weeks. He huffed over the thoughts, not liking how this made him question himself. He had always been assured in himself, and this experience had thrown a spanner in the works. "Well, like I said this started a few weeks ago while I was driving around." he tried remembering exactly where it had been, which he hadn't been paying attention to. He hadn't even registered the change, the big changes, until much later when he had gone to the shop and home. "Crap, where was it?" he said allowed, the tone in his voice a testament to his frustration.

Manti was frankly annoyed at being thwarted in his attempt to make some sense of all this. There were too many things for this to be coincident, but the main differences that Derek seemed to be coming up with were personality rather then physical things. The implication was that he was not remembering things, which he was sure he wasn't, aside from losing time, it didn't feel like a break in his memories. Or was that just what someone who was missing memories would think?
Manti took the phone and looked at the picture. It wasn't his... wait... he examined it closer, zooming in on the phone. There was some familiarity about it, the color and design, he thought he wore something like this back when he was still in college. It was full of holes, rather dirty looking, and he couldn't really tell if it was the same jacket, but it seemed like a style he would have worn. "I'm not sure..." he said, his confidence wavering a little. "Can you show me this in person?" he asked, honestly a little hesitant at the idea, but he had to know if there was something wrong with his head. Maybe he was suffering some brain injury and he didn't remember what he should be remembering. It was worrying enough a thought to cement the determination to figure this out.

Despite amber having at first reminding him about Ambrosia, he could see this person had a much different personality. Still she seemed somewhat okay, a little reserved perhaps, maybe a bit lacking in the confidence area, though to be honest, a lot of people lacked confidence if you were comparing to Manti. However the story she gave made no sense at all. "Your pulling my leg, right," he said laughingly, "Try the other, it has bells on," he teased. Yeah, he could believe a whole bunch of things thanks to mutants. He could believe there were people who could move mountains with their minds, or jump from one end of the planet to another, but even he could only go so far in suspension of disbelief. But then he could see in her face a conviction he recognized. "Holy crap, your serious!?" he said, his tone shifting from teasing to something more unsure. Amnesia, even an unconventional case, was much more believable, his common sense and logic rebelled against there being another world, another dimension, let alone that he had somehow stumbled into it. But That couldn't be it, could it? Suddenly the supremely confident cat man was not so sure anymore.

Leon gave a sigh that was somewhere between annoyance and contemplative. "I could maybe pass it off as coincidence if it was just a first name thing," he said, thinking over the situation as he pondered the unlikeliness of this situation. "But to have my full name and look like me is too much to be a coincidence." Then a thought crossed his mind, "Shape shifter maybe? If that's the case he wouldn't have my powers." he swung his tail around, stiffening the quills so he could break one off, "Does your Leon have this?" he said in a tone that suggested he had outsmarted something. He held out the red quill broken end first, for Derek to examine. Even an impostor wouldn't be able to replicate his quills and poison. The only logical explanation was that it was someone pretending to be him. He couldn't think of anyone who would do this. Well, maybe a friend would prank him, but this was much too elaborate for it to be that.

Manti went through the list of faces he remembered. He knew many mutants who attended the bars, at least he had known. He knew lava mutants, cat mutants(of which he was included), and even insect mutants, but he didn't know Amber's face, nor could he recall any dinosaur mutants in his circle of friends. Like Derek he was drawing a blank despite hem knowing him. "I know a dragon girl, I almost thought you were her, but that's obviously not the case. But hey, dinosaur powers, cool!" he said, giving her a thumbs up. Anyone who knew Manti well knew of his easy going and generally upbeat personality, though that wasn't saying much at the moment since people seemed to think he was mopey, which made no sense whatsoever.
"When did it change? I mean, when did people stop knowing you?"
"Hmmm, I'd say a few weeks ago, give or take," he said, thinking back. He had had one of his time losses, where time seemed to change on him, and suddenly everything else had changed with it. "I mean I could understand if I hit my head or something, but I remember everyone I know and most everything about my life, or at least think I know, and I don't think amnesia works that way anyway."

Manti chuckled warmly at the returned gestures of greeting, though he had to admit she seemed to be timid in taking his hand, like she was trying to avoid touching him more then she needed to. Luckily that was not something he was particularly worried about, if she had a problem, it was hers, not his. He wasn't the type to sulk about wither someone liked him or not, he was awesome, and if someone couldn't see that, well, their loss.
"You're acting very different than when I last saw you."
"I seem to be getting a lot of that lately." said Manti, scratching the back of his head while making a gesture of mild amusement mixed with embarrassment. "Sorry, but I don't remember you at all," he said, though in a lighthearted tone that indicated more of his own confusion on the matter then anything wrong with her. "I mean, it used to be I knew everyone, but now apparently everyone I know doesn't recognize me, and everyone I don't know does." He was used to this by now, though it got tedious having to re-explain this to everyone who greeted him and apparently knew him and said he was acting odd. From what he had gathered he had been staying at this school, though he couldn't exactly figure out why since he had graduated some time ago. Mystery upon mystery.

Manti's trip down the rabbit hole had thus far yielded no answers, he seemed to have been here but there didn't seem to be any indication of why. It was a perplexing mystery, he had wondered before if he had some form of amnesia or something, though he was sure he wasn't missing any time. Well, maybe that wasn't true, a few times his watch had seemed to be off, could he have blacked out then? And why would he come here? And that still didn't explain why his shop was gone any everything else was so weird.
"Hello? I'm not sure if you remember me, but we met a few weeks ago. I'm Amber."
He heard the voice before he saw her, and smelt it before that. "Ambro..." he started turning to look, but he saw someone quite different then who he had been expecting. Huh, he was sure that had been Ambrosia's scent. Well, there were some off characteristics, just like everything else, his first instinct had pictured the mini-dragon elf woman, but the person before him now looked almost opposite to the happy go lucky person he had known. Covered up, black eyes, and a slight more bitter undertone in the scaly scent. "Oh, sorry, thought you were someone else." he said in a cheery voice, "Though I'm not completely sure to be honest, seems I've been a bit off as of late. I'm Manti," he said, offering a paw. She seemed to be keeping her distance, perhaps she was intimidated by him? "I don't bite, promise." he said giving her a grin, which showed off the shark-like teeth he had. Probably not the brightest idea, but hey, he would just roll with it.

Manti walked through the hedge maze, more out of curiosity then anything else. The mansion boasted some neat stuff, and he hadn't seen a hedge maze before, well, not a proper one anyway. Most weren't much higher then a persons head, which for Manti made them too easy. This was a proper maze, obviously crafted to live up to the 'maze' it's name promised. His time at this 'school' was certainly turning out to be interesting, out of all the weird stuff going on this seemed to take the cake. He had no memory of this place, though people here seemed to have memories of him. He was determined to figure this out, everything was so out of place it made no sense, yet he had seen the room where he supposedly lived, and sure enough it had his scent and even some quills that were undeniably his. They lacked the smell of motor oil, but his base smell was there, and his nose did not lie.
He was still searching for some sort of explanation, but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy himself while at it. From what he could tell, 'he' had walked here before, his faint scent lingered from some time ago. Honestly it was a bit creepy to be in a place where his scent was but he had no memories of. But hey, that made it just a bit more fun, what was an adventure without a few thrills?

Manti examined the guy over, he was sure they hadn't met, but in his mind there was little chance that there were two giant red lions running around New York, especially two with the name Leon. "You did say Leon, right? Leon Manning?" he said, puzzling over this, "I mean, most people call me Manti, but it's my name." he continued, taking a swig of his drink. "And I don't think it would be easy to get me mixed up with anyone else, not with this stunning profile." he said it with a good deal of pride. Manti had always considered his looks one of his best features. Still, this was fairly confusing with everything else that seemed to be going on. Could there be another person like him? It would be one hell of a coincidence. "So the last place you saw... me... was in the woods? Doesn't sound like me, I mean, sure I'll take a stroll in the park every once in a while, and don't get me wrong, a survival challenge sounds like a ton of fun, but can't say I've done any of that recently." He scratched his chin, running his claws through the mane fur on his chin as he thought. "Hmmm... though honestly everything has seemed off this week," he said aloud, voicing his thoughts. Everything out of place, his bike shop gone, his place gone, had something happened to him he didn't remember? It wasn't like him to doubt himself, but he couldn't honestly say he was sure at the moment, after all if someone he didn't know knew his name, and how he looked... "I don't suppose you have anything from... me... on you?" he asked. If this guy did know him, and had something, he could sniff it for his own scent. People could look alike or even sound alike sometimes, but one thin they couldn't fake was there scent... well unless their mutant powers let them do that, but that was a whole other kettle of fish. At the very least he would be able to tell if the guy was legit or not.

Manti grumbled a little still peeved at these guys. A taser, seriously? Was the guy asking to be poisoned? With Ivy securing they guys with zip ties, he did his part, dragging the unconscious into a pile. Literally. He left them piled on top of one another, if noting else then some small spite he felt for the trouble they had put them through. He then went and inspected the damage to the bikes, lifting them up one by one and checking the damage. Scratched paint, dents, even a few holes. His own bike was a bit less worse for wear, just the paint would need to be re applied, his was built to support him, so it was made of stronger materials, Still it pissed him off that everyone else's bikes were also banged up because of a few people who didn't know their limits had to make a scene.
"Guess we'll have to delay the end of our game," he said, a bit disappointedly, "I'm going to be cleaning up this mess for a while." He planned on fixing up everyone's bikes, free of charge or course.

Manti was too occupied with his own fight to really second guess anything Ivy was doing. He wasn't too worried about these guys hurting him, though he watched for any glint of metal. Though though he was, a knife was a knife, and for all his impressive physique, he was not blade proof. However, t seemed if they guys had been armed, they were too drunk to really think to bring anything out, charging Manti in a was that seemed so... lacking in self awareness, Manti could have almost laughed at it. Instead he opted to catch the two by the front of their shirts and lift them simultaneously off the ground. "Maybe you two should take a nap," he said in a annoyed, but at the same time amused tone, before bashing the two together, knocking them out.
Then there was a sudden stab of pain in his back. Crap, had someone just stabbed him? He dropped the two, pulling away from the source of the pain and turning, just in time to see Ivy pulling some sort of weapon out of the guys hand. He reflexively felt where it stung, feeling a little blood, but little more then a shallow stab wound. At least he hadn't managed something vital, as far he knew he didn't need to worry about toxins, but he was sure he still needed his kidneys.

Leon didn't consider himself a hunter, not by any means. If anything he would have called himself a scavenger, since anything he had done was essentially getting things from someone else's labor, food from dumpsters or meals at the mansion. After a few days out in the woulds, where everything was about him doing everything for himself, he was starting to appreciate how good he had had it. He had by no means considered himself lucky or of much worth, but even in his isolated state he had had some form of support. Now he was on his own, truly and fully. He had exhausted what few berry bushes and mushrooms he had found, and what hunger he had been able to tide over was starting to get the better of him. His senses were informing him of things he hadn't picked up on before, a change brought up perhaps by a step backwards on his list of priorities. He could smell animals that had passed through, and while his conditioning to never want to harm anything made him revolt at the idea, survival and need told him he needed fuel for his body, which demands were higher then most due to it's size. His body was running low, and it was either get something, or he would soon find himself starving. So he had set up a trap. He could smell where rabbits had passed through, so had tied some of his spines to a sprig and set a trip wire with some string from his clothing. It wasn't a good way to die, but he didn't know enough about traps to make anything more effective. He was desperate, and he had past the limit where his phobia got in the way of survival.

Leon was looking a bit worse for wear. He had never been as isolated as he was now. He had always wished to be left alone so no one would be in danger from him. Careful what you wish for. His clothing was dirty and badly torn, having no shelter from the elements like he could find in the city. If not for his fur, he would have probably succumb to exposure. Berries and mushrooms were quickly losing their charm, what he wouldn't give for a burger.
