The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Not sure why, but some part of me really wants there to be a village somewhere in the world, on a desert island or in a hard to reach nook in a valley somewhere that only houses mutants. A small community of non humans, adapteds are welcome even sought after as they offer opportunity relieve mutants that are or can be dangerous to themselves and others.
I was thinking that there could be a mutant that made worm holes from the island to NYC, Tokyo, Beijing, Mexico city, Moscow and so forth, but it only allows mutants/adapteds to enter safely (maybe a human on m could get through)
I was thinking it could be within the Bermuda triangle. The place would be low tech, think grass huts and camp fires, fishing and simplicty. the place would however be very xgene powered. I was just thinking that it might offer a nice change of scenery for us city bound folks.

All right, now that I'm on an actual computer rather than my phone I might be able to make a little more of a post regarding this idea. Personally, I really like it. It definately seems realistic that some mutant would set up something like this and it also seems like there would be more than a few mutants who would want to visit a place like this. I could see some interesting plot develop out of this idea, for sure.
The only question I would have is could an adapted go through a mutant generated wormhole? Wouldn't their adapted aura prevent the wormhole from working properly? If not, perhaps a couple of adapteds full time at the island and/or the option for more traditional means of getting there? More traditional need not mean public necessarily, but even something like a private plane or boat might work.

Calley
Ooo, reminds me of Antarctica from the Future Plot. But... more comfortable.
On that note: in the FP, there was a mutant--codename Doors, I believe--who acted as transportation to and from the colony--he could literally open up a rectangle in space, on the other side of which would be whatever destination he chose. He was in his twenties, if I remember... so would be in his late teens now? And since he was actively working as the colony's transportation, another mutant community would probably be a natural draw for him. If you want to use him. He was one of Seizure's NPCs. *loves seeing the FP NPCs come back to the present, so figured she'd drop that bit of trivia for you all* Obviously, no obligation to use the guy.
On Adapteds v. wormholes... yeeeeah I can't see that working (it would be rather contrary to the point of Adapteds). But that could present an interesting challenge; like Sky said, the island would have to work covertly to bring them by more conventional means--which might be how outsiders like you fine folks catch wind of it.
*idea toss!*
Also, if this island happens to be around the vicinity of Ecuador, I will love you all forever for reasons of tying in things I've vaguely hinted about with Calley. Also also, if you mention at least one person on said island looking suspiciously at all cats they see.... yessssss.
as for more information, I'll look into making and populating the island some( and swiping a few FP npcs) Maybe a few of them remember the future and decided that it was better not to be cold. any who, Feel free to throw any ideas my way and we should be able to put something amazing together and have a nice pacifistic vacation spot.

I wonder if there is a mutant out there who might be able to enforce pacifism either through direct use of powers or through indirect use via punishment? Either something that compels the individuals within to be non-violent or perhaps something that forces violent actions back upon the offender. Thus, someone tries to punch someone else, they get the equivalent force of a punch themselves or, someone tries to set fire upon someone else they get something the equivalent of being set on fire. Pretty soon the guests would get the idea regarding what is and is not allowed.
Shame on you calley. Shame shame shame I was going to mention door. There was one draw back to his, power that I thought was awesome and that is that he had to use a door way. Pax had the only portable door from the theater department.
Anywho i'm all for this. You mentioned having this island in the Bernita triangle. Could the effects of the triangle. Be mutant made? If so, is there a chance to make a sort of hidden culture that cod also inhabit the island and is only discovered now that. Mutants and adapted are starting to use it? This could. Give us a chance to discover and create mutants that would have been labeled as gods in the hidden culture. If anyone has read my Egypt thread, part of me wonders if bast would have. Made her. Way, eventually to this island.
Sounds good to me. The island that I found isn't near the bermuda triangle, but perhaps they got the Bermuda triangle mutant to change locations and cause the mysterious effects there, I think that drawing old gods would be very interesting and would suggest that the future dreamers picked the location based on information that they gleamed from the future pertaining to those ancient mutants involved with the past. I suggest we keep the old gods sparse or deceased for the most case, but a solid group of geezer god mutants could be hilarious.
