The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Continued from: "From the Netherlands to the States" After leaving the Netherlands by plane, Mandain traveled to the U.S. hoping to start over his life, in peace. He had no clue of where he was going, what he was going to do or whatever he would run into. At the airport Mandain took a cab.
"Drive me to park please" said Mandain to the cab driver.
"Very well sir, We will be heading to wards Central Park" Said the driver with an Arabic dialect.
The meter of the cab started running, and Mandain was sinking away in his own thoughts, thoughts of the future. Those thoughts would come to end sooner then expected, while waiting in a traffic line, the bus in front of the cab exploded, shard were flying around, the windows of the car were burst-ed out, the cause of shards killed the Arabic cab driver, and only missed with an inch of Mandains neck. As fast as Mandain was trying to escape, more car bombs went off,
"Darn, My new life in a new country starts well" whispered Mandain with an ironic touch.
9 car's and 1 bus were destroyed in this terrible event, lots of people injured or dead. Mandain Fled from the scene to wards a big park.
"Central Park, hmmm that cab driver must have been fooling around with me"
Mandain walked to wards a bench. watched and listen to the birds whistling, and a siren on the background

Detective Rupert Kelley was walking his dog in Central Park when a deep concussion shuddered through the ground. He was on his cell phone to dispatch within five seconds of the first explosion. He was still on it when he heard the first sirens approaching, and he caught sight of the only person in Central Park who wasn’t either hurrying to gawk or hurrying the Hell away. “Hold on a sec, Delores. Think I’ve got something here.” He switched the phone into the hand that held Flipsy’s leash, and fished in the pocket of his pants for his badge. He wasn’t on duty; that meant he looked more like a hobo than an officer of the law at the moment. Gray beater pants, an old black Led Zeppelin T-shirt, and a small silver ring sparkling from its pierced perch on his eyebrow. But he had his badge on him. He always had his badge on him. He approached the man on the bench, and flipped it open for him to see. “Detective Rupert Kelley,” he introduced himself calmly, “I don’t mean to alarm you, Sir, but I’d like to ask a few questions.” He hooked a thumb in the direction of the explosions. “Did you just come from the scene?” He began to unconsciously profile the man. Caucasian, early twenties, dressed neatly if not impressively, brown hair, yellow eyes. Yellow eyes. Crap. Rupert put his badge back into his pocket, and did his best to keep his hand from reaching for a gun he wasn’t carrying.
Flipsy was tugging at her pastel blue leash, and sniffing in her friendly manner at the man’s shoes as her scruffy tail wagged. She was a small tan-and-white miniature poodle/cocker spaniel mix. If anyone felt like laughing at the cat-sized dog, they’d have to go through Rupert, first.
While Mandain was sitting on the bench, watching and hearing the birds whistle, other people were creaming, running for their lives. 1 man was walking to wards the bench, he had a dog a little looked like a poodle mixed with something, but Mandain wasn't interested to know what the mix was. The man in some gray pants and an old black Led Zeppelin T-Shirt was still walking to wards him, now he had a hand in his pants pocket.
"If he wants to try anything smart with me, he will become a corpse" Thought Mandain while watching those birds.
The man had pulled something out of his pants, not a gun, it looked like a wallet, but when the man was only 2 feet away from Mandain he flipped it open.
"Detective Rupert Kelley, I don't mean to alarm you, Sir, bit I'd like to ask a few questions"
"You may ask some questions, but don't ask the wrong ones, and could you get that do of yours to stop sniffing around?"
Mandain wasn't really in the mood for questions, so he thought that intimidation maybe could work." "I hope he won't try anything stupid, for his sake"
Mandain put on a smile and looked deep into the detective's eye's

"You may ask some questions, but don't ask the wrong ones, and could you get that dog of yours to stop sniffing around?"
Rupert tugged Flipsy back into a heel position and switched his phone into his other hand in one smooth motion. He put the cell back to his ear. “Listen, Delores, I’ll call you back. I might have a witness here. I’m in Central Park, maybe a block from the scene. Tell Mercy I’d like to see her later, would you?” He flipped the phone closed, and dropped it into his pocket after his badge. Mercy: M.M.R.C., the office nick-name for the Mutant and Mutant-Related Crimes Task Force. Delores was a smart girl. She’d figure out that he was talking to a mutant and they weren’t exactly getting along like old pals, though it hadn’t escalated or he wouldn’t be talking so cutesy. Yellow Eyes here definitely had a distinct attitude problem. Given the situation, Rupert couldn’t rule out that this guy’s power was in demolition. One thing was for sure: the tough guy act wasn’t going to make Rupert back down.
He returned the man’s smile in kind, and unflinchingly met the freak’s unnatural gaze. “Thank you, Sir. As I was asking, did you just come from the scene of the explosions?” He asked with calm politeness. There was always a chance that this mutie was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and he really had nothing to do with those explosions—but Rupert didn’t really believe in coincidences. Right about now, Delores should be radioing a few officers over to check up on him. Rupert just had to keep him talking until they came. The beat officers could either take down the man’s official witness statement, or they could try and bring him in as a suspect. It was largely up to how Yellow Eyes here answered Rupert’s questions in the next few minutes.
A mutant bomber. Honestly, Rupert would prefer that to terrorists. It was much easier to shoot a mutant than an organization.
“Thank you, Sir. As I was asking, did you just come from the scene of the explosions?”
Mandain stood up and he didn't feel very good about the phone call the detective just made. Either he was bringing in some reinforcements, was checking my profile or it was just a normal call saying he had found a witness. Anyway, Mandain knew he had to say something to get out of here, it even crossed his mind to shoot a blast at the detective, but then his life was ruined, again.
Since Mandain had a blood decease he had to take some medication for it,
"I'm gonna reach for my wallet, some medication is in there that i need"
Mandain reached for his pocket, put his down in the pocket, and took a small tube out of his pocket. Mandain opened the small tube and took a pill out of it, swallowed the pill and continued the conversation.
"Mister detective, As you asked, I was at the crime scene, I was in a cab while it happened, the cab behind the bus that blew up. I'm lucky i got out alive, but it wouldn't have worried me if I died, U see Mister detective, once you lost your loved ones, what it there to fear of losing?"
Mandain hoped he didn't have an answer for that question, so he could simply walk away and say: have a nice day.

Ali had decided to try to enjoy Central Park one more time. Thoughts of her previous experience in the park floated in her mind. She shook them from her thoughts as she enjoyed the air and the scenery.
Her day dreaming was put to a hault as explosions rocked the nearby street. People fled the area and Ali decided to do the same and ran more into the park.
She came across a couple guys talking and the redhead overheard one of them asking the other if he had just come from the same place as the explosions. She decided to get a little closer as she heard the second guy refer to the one asking questions as a detective.

"I'm gonna reach for my wallet, some medication is in there that I need."
This statement did not put Rupert less on edge. Yellow Eyes was making sure his movements didn't seem suspicious: that usually wasn't a hallmark of innocence. If Rupert had his gun on him, he'd probably have it pointed at the mutie's chest right about now.
...Ten seconds later, he felt a little stupid, but he didn't regret the thought. Better cautious than dead. So the mutant actually did have medication. Good for him. Back in his beat officer days, Rupert had once arrested a serial rapist who had a heart condition. He took pills, too. Medication does not an innocent man make.
Rupert went from feeling stupid to feeling a little like a jerk. A freak he might be, but Yellow Eyes here didn't sound like someone who'd just blown up a New York City street. He'd meant excellent actors before. All cops out of their rookie year had. But he generally went with his gut on things, and the gut was saying that maybe--just maybe--having a mutant in the area really was a coincidence. It wasn't like the city wasn't crawling with them, lately. And Flipsy was still wagging her tail at the guy. Okay. Rupert grudgingly stopped trying to have a staring contest with the mutie. "I'm sorry to hear that, Sir." He might not have meant it, but he tried to sound like he meant it. "Listen; there will be a couple of officers here in a few minutes, investigating. It would help the investigation significantly if you would give them a statement of what you witnessed here today." Which is to say, if Rupert let this guy wander away before he gave a statement, some other poor detective was going to have to jump through hoops to track the man down to question him later. If there was one creature that knew how to hide, it was a mutant. "We should probably have an ambulance check you out, too, just in case. Have you noticed any injuries, Sir?"
Flipsy tugged at her leash, and gave a happy little-dog bark behind them. Rupert turned his head slightly, keeping Yellow Eyes in view in case he decided to bolt. A young woman seemed to be eavesdropping in on them. He motioned for her to come closer. "Good afternoon, Miss. Did you just come from the scene of the explosion, as well?"

The man regarded to as Detective motioned for Ali to come closer. The woman did just that and stepped to within a couple feet of the two guys.
"I came from that area, yeah. I saw a bunch of people running and heard explosions so I left as well." Ali looked the two men over a bit more since she had a better view of them both. She noted the other guy's yellow eyes. Maybe he was a mutant as well. Either that or he had some of those colored contact lenses.
"We should probably have an ambulance check you out, too, just in case. Have you noticed any injuries, Sir?"
Mandain stood up and said calmly:
"No, but thanks for asking, and about that ambulance? I'm pretty sure others need it more then me if I would have been hurt."
Mandain saw a woman eavesdropping but didn't really care, at least that's what he thought, when he looked closer at the woman, he saw something nice he hadn't seen in a while, a beautiful lady.
"I have to get going now, maybe we will run into each other some other time" Mandain smiled, he was happy he could simply walk away.
While Mandain was walking away from the detective and the lady he heard him ask the same thing to the her.
"Good afternoon, Miss. Did you just come from the scene of the explosion, as well?"
"I came from that area, yeah. I saw a bunch of people running and heard explosions so I left as well."
Mandain looked 1 more time at the lady, smiled and waved. He hadn't done this in a long time, trying to flirt with somebody, so he quickly turned around and walked away a bit faster. As he reached the other side of the park Mandain walked to wards a dinner.

ooc: I was trying to figure out how i'd start threads with both of you in central park, but since you've already got one, I think i'll jump in if it's ok!
ic:
Raina left the mansion in a hurry. She needed to clear her head. She made her way to the park. Pulling her overcoat tightly around herself she took a breath that came out in a cool whisp despite the heat. She was cold. she must have overexerted her powers.
She'd seen Ali head off in a direction, and desperate for some contact with someone who wasn't in highschool, Raina decided to follow her.
She headed down the sidewalk- she knew where the park was now after her experieince with Amp and Vibe. She spotted Ali and called out, "Hey! Ali!" she jogged over to where her aquatance stood.
she realised she picked an awkward moment to show up, it looked like Ali had just stumbled into a private conversation between two men about their age. Raina motioned to Ali and tried to stay seperate to the other's conversation. "Hey! I hope you don't mind, I saw you go out and I needed to clear my head and I was hoping I could join you around the park." she laughed "hopefully we wont have any trouble with the sound this time." she gave a wink wondering for a small moment what ever happened to Amp and Vibe.
She started a small conversation with Ali but it was then that she noticed a percotious dog sniffing at her feet in an odd way. She turned and in her best attempt stiffled a squeal of happiness and excitement that could have been confused for some rare bird.
"Well lookat you!" she exclaimed bending down to pet the dog on the head. "You remind me of the dogs back home up north." she cuddled the dog a bit that didn't seem to be resisting. It was odd really, it was as if the brief encounter with the dog triggered something in Raina and she seemed to be glowing in a beautiful way. She looked peaceful. since the first time she arrived here.
Somewhat Embaressed she looked up at the man holding the leash- she'd obviously interruppted him and she exclaimed some apologies as she looked between the two men with her bright eyes and captivating stare. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt, I just came trailing after my friend here," she said with a motion and a smile to Ali. "Really very rude of me... " the dog licked her face (sorry, little God modding here, lol just kick me if it's too much) "Im a little homesick, and I couldn't resist this lovely dog of yours..."
Ali was waiting for the Detective to say something else when she noticed the second guy get up. He smiled at the redhaired girl and waved but then walked away rather quickly. It seemed rather strange behavior but at least he was being nice.
While still contemplating the gestures from the man Ali heard a familiar voice when her name was called out. Ali turned to see Raina walking up and smiled to her. "No I don't mind you joining me, but I agree with the sound bit. Hopefully it'll be more peaceful this time."
Raina noticed the Detective's dog and began giving it some attention while explaining herself. Ali thought it was rather funny but she didn't say anything. "You're not really interrupting anything Raina. The Detective here was just asking me about the explosions over there." Ali pointed in the direction from where the explosions occured.

((ooc: By all means, God-Mod with Flipsy. She’s a rather uncomplicated character… lol.))
Flipsy was in mini-poodle Heaven, dancing at the end of her leash to greet the two women. Rupert had gone into an animal shelter last year to get a guard dog to watch his apartment during the long hours he was gone. He still wasn’t sure how he’d walked out with Flipsy—everything after he caught sight of her puppy eyes was a bit of a blur—but having a poodle mutt at his side when he walked the Park certainly had… advantages.
He watched Yellow Eyes leave without much surprise. Mutants and police were two things that didn’t mix well for very long. He smiled at the new woman, holding up a finger to show he’d just be a minute, and dug out his phone again.
“Hey, Delores. Cancel any cops you were sending my way—the mutant just left. Yeah, I’m fine; he didn’t try to start anything. Listen, though, he was actually in one of the cars caught in the explosions. Tell the beat officers to keep their eyes out. Male, Caucasian, early twenties, brown hair, yellow eyes, wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Seemed pretty edgy, but not violent. Tell them to try and get a statement out of him. Thanks, Delores.” He flipped it closed, and turned his attention back to the women. “Sorry about that. Police work.” He gave himself a critical look over. He might look more like a grad school student than a hobo, but it probably wasn’t by much. “Though I’m off duty, as you might have noticed.” He turned towards the red head again: off duty or not, the cop in him just wouldn’t let things go without saying one more thing. “If you remember anything you might have seen, Miss—anyone acting suspicious, something that seemed out of place but you didn’t pay much attention to it at the time—just call the station.” He made a show of taking a deep breath in, and letting it out. “Okay, sorry. I promise not to go ‘detective’ on you again. Did you catch his eyes? Mutants just make me a little… tense. Couple of bad experiences.” Nearly getting killed by one, for instance. Watching nearly two dozen good men not be so lucky, for another. He offered his hand to each of them. “I’m Rupert.” He pointed down to the friendly poodle mix at his feet. Currently, she was assaulting the new woman’s hands. “This here is Flipsy. Careful—she’ll bathe a layer of skin right off of you if you let her. You’re a vicious little mutt, aren’t you?” Flipsy looked up at him briefly, wagged her tail, and went back to making friends with no loss of enthusiasm. Referring to the new woman’s homesick comment, he asked, “So where are you from? I can’t say I recognize that accent. The Big Apple been treating you all right? Haven’t been mugged more than three times since you came here, right?” He asked the last with perfect seriousness, but a little glimmer in his eyes gave him away.

Raina listened with enthusiasm "exploding?" she asked half way through the speal, "well there doesn't seem to be any less craziness in this park then before. New York sure is strange..." she listened some more and at the detectives comments about Mutants, she shot Ali a frightened look that meant - "we better now blow our cover." She played with the dog and took brief observations of rupert as he spoke. she'd dart her eyes between him and Ali.
She stood up and dusted herself off, she and Ali might have looked like sisters with their red hair if not for Raina's pale north skin. "Well, I'm from Canada. Waaaaaay up north in Canada" she smiled extending a hand. "I'm Raina, haven't been mugged yet, nope." she beamed at him. She was thrilled to have gotten to steal some time with some people her own age.
She tossed her hair over her shoulder. "So any big amazing cases there detective? I've never met an officer before. We've got 'mounties' in Canada but where I'm from it's too cold for 'em." she gave a wink- a little blush creeping across her cheeks.
Arrived at the diner, Mandain walked to wards a table and sat down. It wasn't to crowded, 2 on duty cops eating the regular: a donut, an older couple and some kids around 16 having a laugh and a drink.
"Can i have your order Sir?"
In the meanwhile Mandain was looking around the diner, the waitress already had walked up to him. Mandain scared the hell out of himself and in a reflex grasped the waitress and put his hand against her stomach.
" make 1 wrong move and u won't be able to move" Suddenly Mandain had realized what the woman asked and who she was. a waitress.
"I'm sorry miss, can you forgive me? I came out of the explosion at the other side of the park, I'm still a but jumpy" Mandain tried to sound a bit confused, but he wasn't worried or scared at all by the situation.
The 2 cops already had pointed the gun at Mandain, and shouted some stuff at Mandain, but the only thing he had interest for was the huge shotgun pointed at his back. The waitress seemed to be the owners daughter, as Mandain could make out of some pictures hanging on the wall, and the words:
"Release my daughter you filthy peace of garbage!"
Mandain was as always in a bad situation, he just couldn't start a new normal peacefully life.
