The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

After a few minutes Mandain returned form the restroom. Ali couldn't help but make a comment. "You washed your hands right?" she giggled as she finished her statement. She was obviously trying to be playful about it.
Ali waited for the guy to sit down again. "Did you make a comment when you walked by the first time? I thought I heard you say something about beautiful red." Her eyes watched his facial expressions and body language while she waited for him to reply.
Mandain's blushed a bit and gave a smile to wards Ali, " My hands are as clean as can be" Mandain looked at Ali, then looked to the table and back at Ali again with another smile that was the intention of giving a good impression.
To be honest, I'm in love with you hair, it's really beautiful" Mandain said it with a nice clam voice as always, Lady's. Detective, did i miss something in the meanwhile?

Ali blushed brightly at Mandain's compliment. "Thank you. That's very sweet of you to say." The woman tried to compose herself again. "So you like reheads huh? Can I ask why, or you just like how healthy my hair is?" She wasn't trying to make him uncomfortable but at the same time she wanted to see how honest he was.
"Red is a nice color with allot of fury, thats why I like it", and it doesn't looked dyed so it's much more attractive" Mandain gave a sweet smile with a blush to wards Ali. " And your hair is very healthy too now you say it, what do you think of my hair " Mandain said this in a humorers sence, since his hair wasn't looking to great, the gel had worn of.
Mandain gave another look at the waitress that was still a bit stressed, but it was going much better with her. The only thing bothering Mandain was that the owner was constantly looking at him with a face saying, please leave.

((ooc: lol Thanks Raina. But by all means, feel free to keep blushing and touching Rupert’s hand—last I checked, he didn’t mind.
And thanks for waiting for me, ladies and gentleman!))
"I remember reading about the massacre when I first came to New York. I can't believe it's been that long already. It seems like just yesterday I left the great white north,” Raina laughed. She had a very musical laugh.
Rupert leaned back in his chair comfortably. The conversation seemed to be splitting up—Raina and he at their end of the table, and Ali and the mutant at the other. He rather liked the break. “So what brought you to the Big Apple?” He asked her conversationally. “No wait—let me guess. Hmm... The culture?” He leaned forward, crossing his arms in front of him on the table as he made a show of appraising Raina with mock concentration. “You look like someone who’d be a natural on the stage, to me. Not an actress.... not a dancer... a singer, maybe?”
He heard Mandain answering his “buy some sunglasses and stop threatening waitresses” quip, and he turned to grace the man with a very thin-lipped smile. It was people’s choice to live in fear of mutants, was it? Rupert heard a lot of people in war zones chose to live in fear of getting shot, too. And about the Sanctuary—“you can’t change it back”, was it? Uh-huh. Yellow Eyes here was just brimming with empathy; Rupert could tell. Frankly, now was not the time and certainly not the company for him to really tell this guy what he thought. So he let it go—his anger management teacher would have been quite proud—and simply turned back to Raina, letting a more sincere smile come back to his face.
"Hmph. My hair is red too you know!" she winked at Rupert. “Just because it's dyed doesn’t make it any less pretty.”
Rupert grinned, and held up a hand to Ali and Yellow Eyes. “No offense to your taste, Mandain, or to the natural redheads of the world... but some guys actually prefer dyed hair. It’s proof that a woman’s got a sense of adventure.” He looked to Raina, and returned the wink. “Ever tried blue?”

Raina blushed insanely.
“So what brought you to the Big Apple?” He asked her conversationally. <rupert>
"I'm a bit of a wanderer. I left home a while ago to.. I suppose... find my place. This is the longest I've stayed anywhere... I feel like I could do some real good here." she thought back a moment to all the places she'd travelled when she left with nothing but a Kayak.
"You look like someone who’d be a natural on the stage, to me. Not an actress.... not a dancer... a singer, maybe?” <Rupert>
Raina's eyes flashes sadness for a moment- only a brief moment before they turned back to their warm welcoming look. "I'm Native, and in my tribe I was a chanter. When I left..." she trailed off unsure of how she could explain she couldn't sing without freezing something... when she decided to play the ethnicity card and make Rupert think it was something she didn't do now after being cast out from her tribe- perhaps the order of an Elder. "I'm not allowed to sing anymore... I know being this far away I could probably break the traditions... but I woudln't feel right..." she twiddled her thumbs for a moment. It was rather convincing as it was mostly true. "I have a beat up acoustic at the center... That;s how I make my music these days." She thought back to her arrival at the mansion, and how she'd met her first mutant friends because of the guitar. "I suppose I shouldn't be telling an off duty cop that I may a few funds along the way by busking with my guitar" she winked and placed her head in her hand leaning on the table looking across at him. "Maybe sometime I'll play for you." It was an honest suggestion- but her tone of voice was rather flirty. A little more then she meant and the red crept across her face again.
“Ever tried blue?” <Rupert>
After her comment about Ali's hair the conversation shifted to her own. Raina couldn't help but laugh at the irony of the situation... considering her hair would change to a blue when she had used too much power. "You know, I have. " she giggled. "Makes me look kinda pale," she joked- well... half joked. She leaned in a little closer as the Waitress appeared again.
"Er uh.. I don't suppose you're ready for anything to eat?" Raina looked down at the coffee she hadn't touched yet. Food would be an excellent excuse to stay longer. She looked over at Ali who was in conversation with Mandain and felt giddely as if she were on a double blind date! Either way, it was so refreshing to spend time with older people.
"I'd love the soup of the day!" she said politely smiling warmly at the woman. The woman's expression softened a bit. After overhearing Raina's story about Mandain being the specialist for agression- she'd been able to convince herself to be brave enough to keep serving the table. After all, the tips really helped.
"What about the rest of you?" asked the waitress avoiding their eyes.

Rupert crossed his arms sternly. “Pan-handling with a guitar, hmm? Well. There’s only one thing an off-duty cop can say to that:” He raised an eyebrow teasingly. “You must be pretty good, to actually make any sort of money doing that. I would love to hear you play sometime.” He thought he’d seen something in her eyes for a moment back there, something deep and infinitely sad. Not being allowed to sing anymore must have cut her deeply. Going back to something she’d said earlier, he added, somewhat more seriously; “There’s a lot of good that needs doing in this world. Maybe one day, that’ll call for you to use your voice again—who knows?” Maybe one of those kids at her group home would be a budding voice talent, and need someone who could understand how she felt about singing. Stranger things had happened. “We all just got to do what we can, when we can, right?”
And on the topic of that wonderful hair of hers… "You know, I have. Makes me look kinda pale," she answered.
Rupert couldn’t help but grin mischievously. “You know, I have a hard time picturing you pale… you look a little red to me, actually. Are you hot?” He’d decided to count how many times she blushed. So far, the meter was at four and rising.
He looked away reluctantly when the waitress came over. “I’ll try the soup of the day, too,” he said, with a nod to Raina. “Can I get a refill on my coffee, too? Black. And I think Flipsy could use a refill on her water bowl.” The poor little poodle mutt was sitting under the table between Rupert and Raina, licking her bowl as if water would mysteriously spring forth if only she tried hard enough.

"Well thank you Mandain that's very sweet of you to say. I guess you could say that those characteristics are in my personality as well." Ali stuck her tongue out at Rupert when he made his comment out dyed hair then looked back to Mandain. Ali ran her hand through the back of Mandain's hair. "Your hair seems to need more gel or something." she said with a slight giggle.
When the waitress asked if anyone wanted anything Ali thought for a moment. "I'd like a hot fudge sundae please. Oh, and an ice water."

Raina smirked at Ali's bravery at being so flirtatious as to run her fingers throug Mandain's hair. She mentally giggled.
" A sunday? Geesh eat some real food woman- like soup! Like-"
"Broccolli soup" came the waitress setting two bowls infront of Rupert and Raina.
"Exactly, broccolli soup- er uh wah?" she stared down at the creamy green group infront of her and her own face turned a little green. "Oh... gee... wow.." she stirred it feeling a little seasick from the colour and managed to force a spoonful in her mouth "....mnn..." she faked. It wasnt that bad, just not the most pleasant of textures.
"So, do you have any family here?" asked Raina ignoring her soup and petting Flipsy. "Or is it just cutey patutey here!"
Mandain sat and listened to the story's that were told, he actually wanted to get out of this place, that guy was still lying in the restroom.
The waitress walked over to the table, "Er uh.. I don't suppose you're ready for anything to eat?" luckily she was calmed down from the incident that happened.
"Your hair seems to need more gel or something." While she said that she wend threw Mandain's hair. Mandain blushed and started leaning on the table.
Rupert and Raina took the same soup, and Ali took a hot fudge sundae and an ice water.
The waitress looked at Mandain, " Do you want anything Sir? " Mandain looked up to the waitress, "No thanks, I'm fine" Mandain still wasn't thirsty or hungry from the events that happened this day. All he wanted was to get out of here, to that mutant center or whatever is was. Mandain smiled at Ali again, words didn't come out, but his eye's said that he was getting uneasy from this place. Rupert and Raina were still chatting about some stuff, Mandain heard the word music, singing, guitar, but the rest of the conversation wend past his ears. It was beautiful weather outside, the park was beginning to fill with people again, the crime scene was under control and the day was back to normal. How Mandain loved to go outside, but he was sitting here, inside a dinner, with Rupert, who he still wasn't buddies with, Raina, a nice girl trying to help him, and Ali, the beautiful kind red head, who set his world upside down, and Flipsy, the puddle mix dog who had a wonderful day being pet by Raina.
The waitress came back with the orders,
"Here you go" She gave 2 bowls of green soup to Rupert and Raina, it didn't look tasteful but hey, it must be good for you, lots of veggies. Ali's meal looked more tasteful, and that ice water seemed also a nice drink.
Mandain decided to get up and and excuse himself. "I'm gonna sit outside on that bench till you guy's are finished, I could use some fresh air" Mandain gave a last look at Ali before walking to wards the door, the look said enough, Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.

Raina stopped mid sentence as Mandain announed he needed some air. She watched as he left then she lightly kicked Ali under the table to get her attention. "What are you waiting for woman? Go after him!" she laughed. "Maybe you can take him back to the ma- er, center! I'm sure Tricity would want to meet him"

Rupert laughed when the waitress delivered their soup. It started out as a polite, I’m-trying-to-hide-it-behind-my-napkin laugh. But when she tried to fake liking it… he dropped the napkin, and just let the laughter roll. “Not a fan of tiny green pods in your soup?” Rupert spooned the largest chunk of broccoli he could find into his mouth. “Mmm, delicious,” he savored dramatically. He actually liked broccoli soup. The texture just couldn’t be matched.
He waved idly at the mutie as the man left, then turned his attention to Raina’s question about his family. “I’m afraid I’m a bit of an orphan, around here. My parents snow-birded down to Florida a few years ago, and never came back; they’ve got some condo next to a swamp; I think they’re feeding the crocodiles.” He grinned down at Flipsy. “So really, it’s just me and my guard dog, here.” He wanted to ask, ‘how about you?’, but he figured it was a rather sensitive subject, and the answer was probably ‘no’. “Do you have any vicious canines watching your back?” He made a face. “Please tell me you don’t have any vicious felines lying around.”

Raina was glad he didn't ask about her family- she didnt want to have to lie. She imagined two seniors feeding crocodiles and had to laugh. "It sounds like we're both loners then! Safe for Flipsy here." The dog leapt into Raina's lap and started slurping at the green goop soup. Raina started laughing so hard tears were welling in the corner of her eyes. She tried to pull flipsy down but she was laughing so hard it wasn't working and she gave up while still laughing as Flipsy finished her bowl and went for Ruperts. Raina tried to pull the dog back and in her effort she bonked heads with rupert sending the remainder of his soup flying.
There was a moment of akward silence as Raina realised the soup was all over Rupert- but of course before she could catch a breath she started laughing hysterically in the most adorable way. She looked like someone who hadn't smiled so much in years. And as Flipsy pranced around the floor again leaving green foot prints Raina could only look up at Rupert biting her lip trying not to laugh- her head very close to his. "S-sorry!" she finally stammered out. "Nope..." she giggled. "No felines... haha I didn't mean to hit your head."

"Woah", Rupert reeled back from their little head bonk, "I'm seeing green..." He looked around the scene. Green-splattered table, green-splattered shirt, green-splattered Flispy and green-foot-printed floor. Rupert picked up his spoon. "Apology not accepted," he said, and did the only sensible thing: he flung a glob of green right at Raina's red hair. Flipsy was barking, and turning in a circle, trying to lick up the trail of food she was leaving behind.
