Jorge stood there, staring at the display case and completely at a loss. They all sparkled so much. Each with their own brilliance, their own personality, their own voice.
But none said “Gemma.”
He turned away, ready to concede when he stopped, grinned, and pointed.
The shake of her hips, the stomping of her dance, the passion in her voice; it all pumped through his veins as he watched the performance. He was entranced…
…but he banished those thoughts, looking at her skull-painted face.
No distractions now. A man had to die by their hands…
It was a stupid crush. A stupid middle school crush. But for Ceciley, it was much more than that. It was butterflies and sweaty palms and goofy grins whenever he so much as glanced at her. So when she saw him throw away the note, it hurt that much more.
"Clear.. .. .." There stood Death. Emotionless and waiting.
"Clear.. .. .." And there lay the victim. Not a victim of an accident, no. For years, she had been singled out until she didn't believe that she could take it anymore.
A bone held between fingers, it was white except for where his blood stained the ten digits. A chance encounter with a model, A chance encounter with a casual killer, One and the same. He needed to find his power. He needed to show her the error of her ways.
“No, no…please don’t…” She whimpered, burying her face in her palms.
“Missed me?” The shadowy, sinister figure grinned as he brandished the butcher’s knife—the deadly blade that had sliced so many—and crept closer and closer to his next victim.
She would forever have her suspicions. A night of fun ended in disaster, a separation over harsh words and threats. She had not spilled his blood upon parting. Maybe that had been her big mistake. He was everywhere now.
