The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Syn took in the night air and it felt good. Nice and cool with each inhale. She watched Fiona stand aat the edge of the roof top while Raphael went to his own spot. She didn't know what to say at the moment so instead she chose to just enjoy the moment.
"Well, because New York is where everything happens, you know? Something is new, you'll find it in New York. Something is in style, it's in New York. And well, god forbid, but if there is something horrible that's happening, you can bet New York news and connections to the world are intact."
Turning around, she had had a smile on her face, but something was amiss. Soon the smile faded, and was replaced by a frown as she heard an odd sound.
Fiona looked at Syn and hesitated to answer as she brought her senses into focus. Holding up a hand to Syn, she gestured to bring the woman closer. "I think someone is watching us..." she said very quietly, and looked ahead. "Look at the random buildings with a relaxed face, cause they look very suspicious."
Looking at the rooftops of the surrounding buildings, one at first glance would swear that there was nothing. But, upon adjusting the eyes to such a distance and keeping those eyes focused, small figures could be seen on every rooftop. Now, normally this wouldn't be such an alarming situation, had the figures not been clad in exactly the same thing. And as if they hadn't been weird enough, they hadn't moved an inch since Syn, Raph, and Fiona had been up there.
Looking up, she noticed two helicopters had been circling the area. "I saw those same choppers when I first got here a few hours ago. They look like news crew choppers but something isn't right, I feel tense."
Fiona had all the right to feel tense as with that a chopper hovered right over head them. Hearing the odd sounds of the frequency the men were using to speak through their walkie-talkies, a rope shot down and two men quickly landed on the roof. Almost immediately after, the helicopter flew away, leaving the men looking alien in their black body armor.
"Is this a dance club?" the first man asked, and the second turned his head.
From the looks of them, they seemed military personnel as they had modern body armor, what looked to be firearms strapped to their hips and various gadgets strapped to their "tool belt" as well.
Syn moved closer to Fiona and looked out at the roof tops. Then she began to see the figures as well as the helicopters. They blended in with their surroundings very well. Like living shadows they seemed to come out from everywhere.
As an extra surprise one of the helicopters dropped off two of the black dressed figures. Syn could see they were dressed for battle. She noted their side arms, knives, night sticks and various other things attached to various places.
One of the men asked if the establishment was a dance club. “Yeah but you can’t go in.” Syn snapped off just as soon as the man finished. “Why can’t we go in? Asked the second guy. The red and black haired girl giggled. “Cause your pajamas don’t meet the dress code so go back to your slumber party before you boys have to call your mommy to come get you.” Syn’s tone gradually went from playful to serious as she ended her statement.
Nika couldn't help but lauhg a little at Nails question. "Well, I sort of taught myself as well as learned from others who have been dancing for awhile. I've just done it so much that it doesn't make me tired unless I go for a long time without a break." She looked at him and smiled. "You were doing a good job keeping up." The young cat girl squeezed Nail's hand again to reassure him that she meant what she said.
"So do yo have a girlfriend or anything?" When she realized what she had said it was too late, but she shook it off and waited for his answer.
Raphael remained seated as Fiona mentioned hearing something, looking around for things that might cause noise that would be out of the ordinary. The low buzz of noise echoing up from the street below to the rustle of the various air-conditioning units on this building and neighboring ones. As he followed her directions, expanding his visual search to the neighboring rooftops, and then he began picking out human shapes, unmoving humanoid shadows. Though it could be just paranoia creeping up on him that was making him see them. The sound of the helicopter lowering to drop off the two men ended his speculation as he watched what seemed to be two spec-ops confront the two women. He was fairly certain at least one individual of the roof-top look out party knew he was there, and merely hoped that there was not radio contact between them. If not, he could likely get the drop on them, if so... well at least he still had the high ground. He shifted from his sitting position and slunk to the edge of the 'building' he was sitting on and watched the two women and two military types begin to spar verbally. He would step in if called out or things got physical.
Fiona raised an eyebrow as the men asked seemingly harmless questions. 'Are these some sort of celebrity mutants or something?' she thought to herself as she looked one over.
"For scum mutants, you girls are pretty damn hot." said the first, making Fiona cringe.
"Too bad you'll never get anything out of us then, pig." responded Fiona, as she braced herself for whatever the two had in mind.
Gritting his teeth, the first man narrowed his eyes at Fiona. "I should teach you how to use that stupid mouth of yours..." he said, and began advancing to wards her. Fiona's face turned to a stony grimace as he pulled a gun out of his "tool belt". However, the second man looked at Fiona with a face of admiration. "She called you a pig, Doyle!" he laughed. Fiona smirked as he apparently took much amusement.
Looking to Syn, Fiona let out a seductive smile at her new fan as she whispered in Syn's ear. "I'll pull him aside and see what I can get out of him. As soon as I'm behind the staircase room and out of sight, try and knock him out." Separating like she had shared a sexy secret with Syn, she motioned at the second man to come to her. "This is no time for fooling around, Ortiz!" yelled Doyle, but Ortiz was already stupefied. "You know, mutant chicks aren't bad, Doyle! You should try the fiesty one with the streaks!" Fiona rolled her eyes as the man apparently last named Ortiz came to her laughing hysterically at his own joke.
"Come on baby, let's talk." purred Fiona, and led Ortiz by the hand behind the staircase room, obscuring Doyle from Ortiz's sight completely.
"So, tell me, what are you doing here at this mutant club, darling?" asked Fiona, and placed her hand on the man's chest to keep him entranced.
Syn smiled as Fiona whispered her little secret. She then watched the woman seduce the man by the name of Ortiz but not before he could make a comment to his partner. Something about trying out the feisty one with the streaks.
“So what do ya say Doyle? Care to try me out like your friend suggested? I don’t think you could handle me though.” Syn was speaking in a playful almost taunting tone. She could see the man was getting aggravated both with Syn and his partner.
“Shut up before I silence your mouth for you. We’re not here to make out with freaks like you.”
“Look who’s talking about having a mouth. You’re all big and bad with that gun aren’t you? I bet I could kick your butt, but you’re probably too scared of me.” Syn snickered at the man. She wanted to get under his skin and make him do something he was going to regret.
Fiona heard from the other side of the staircase room Syn's taunts, and laughed internally. 'She really knows how to get under someone's skin...' she thought. Fiona hoped she would never use that on her, however, as those sort of thing always got to her. Pushing that to the back of her mind now, she set to the task at hand.
Thinking about her previous question, Ortiz looked like a worried child trying to answer Fiona without giving away his motive.
"Well, I can't tell you that..." he began to trail off, but Fiona was already there.
Looping her hands around the man's waist, she pressed her body against his and blew slightly on his neck. "Yes, you can..." whispered Fiona, infusing a only slight bit of power as this one was already in too deep. Ortiz's knees quivered, and he almost whimpered as he looked at her. Fiona looked up, returning his gaze, staring deep into his eyes, adding a little more power. "Well, if I tell you, promise not to say anything!" he urged childishly. Fiona nodded, but only with her fingers crossed behind his back. 'I'm such a kid.' she thought to herself.
"Well, we're here to neutralize all the mutants in the club. We're part of Delta Humanitus, an organization made to cleanse the world of mutant filth," he said, and Fiona slightly gasped aside him. Ortiz looked at her face for a moment, and smiled. "Impressive, huh? But don't you worry, I won't let them neutralize you! You can come live with me and we can be together forever, happy and free and--" Fiona silenced him with the tip of her index finger, nodding as though she was in complete agreement. "But darling, how do you plan to do that? It's incredible as there are so many down there!" she said, and she was clearly trying to feign being impressed while instead trying ot get information.
"We have state of the art rifles, grenades, flamethrowers, everything! We can have over three hundred people neutralized within our squad in minutes!"
It was clear that Delta Humanitus had never dealt with an area filled with hundreds of mutants, let alone angry mutants who had had their fun disrupted. Fiona rolled her eyes behind his back again and looked at him with a sheepish grin. "Wow! I'm so impressed... Who is the mastermind behind all of this?" asked Fiona. "Mikhail Dansk, the smartest man in the world. But he's really mean, so you wouldn't want him." he added as an after thought, as though to warn Fiona of dangers of leaving Ortiz for Mikhail Dansk.
Raphael watched the two women work their magic, Fiona leading one of the military-types away from Syn and the other. He felt certain Fiona could keep him enthralled and well away from harming her physically, though the way Syn was goading the other man, it seemed just a matter of time before violence broke out between the two. He slipped away from the edge and moved around to an unobserved edge to climb down. He landed as quietly as he could, though anyone not distracted would likely have heard his feet slapping down from the drop.
He moved, a fair bit quieter than his drop, to the corner so he could see Syn and the man. Raphael bent down, tensing his legs and preparing to spring around the corner if he got a clean line to the other fellow, or if the other fellow threw the first punch, or some other form of attack.
Fiona laughed sweetly as Ortiz continued to try and charm her. "Where is Mikhail right now?" she asked with a frown, looking as though she was puzzled instead of probing. "Oh, he's in the heli--wait, I can't tell you... I'll lose my job. He's not too important to us, so don't worry about him my love." Wincing as he called her "his love", she quickly looked upwards. One of the helicopters was numbered "1" and the other "2". 'Original.' Fiona thought, but at the same time was happy to know that should she need it, they were easy to identify. 'He's in one of those... But I better get more info first.'
"When are you guys planning to destroy the mutants, darling?" she now said, her hot breath directly on his ear. She heard the man sigh and lean towards her lips, but Fiona looked up expectantly into his eyes. "Why is this so important to you? You're not going to d--" he said, but was interrupted by Fiona's finger on his lips. "I just want to say goodbye." With that, she flashed him a look of sadness that Ortiz couldn't help but wince at this time. "Fine... We're going to do it in about an hour's time. Now is just the time to get a feel for our surroundings, which is why they sent in Doyle and I. But don't worry, I'm not going to leave your side. I love you so much, you're so incredible..." Ortiz's words fell on deaf ears that had heard that song too often. Instead, Fiona shuffled slightly back, so as to be able to see Doyle and Syn yet keep Ortiz's eyes only on her.
Ortiz had suddenly become muffled, and Fiona looked forward to see his head had dropped onto her shoulder and was moving towards her breasts. Eyes widening, she moved his head back to her shoulder, whispering words of chastity and innocence--more like a Southern belle than rough and tumble Fiona--but it did the trick. Ortiz stayed rambling about her and apparently now his childhood on her shoulder, giving Fiona a good opportunity to watch Doyle.
Doyle looked like he had had enough. Looking at Syn with pure hatred, he unsheathed both guns at his side. "I hate you people. I hate your weirdness and disgusting ways, all your 'effing bull with your ablilities...! I say it's filth!" he said, as he gripped the gun tighter, almost growling at Syn as he continued. "Especially the ones like you, with an attitude. I'm gonna enjoy blowing your goddamn brains out..." Now raising the guns, Fiona gasped as he pulled both triggers.
