The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Syn watched as Fiona charmed some random guy and then dismissed him. The whole thing made her smile. She liked this woman the more she got to know her and to see her in action.
"No, I don't have any love interests currently. None that have been genuine anyways. Like you I can have anyone I want but I've never had an actual romance with anyone. What about yourself?"
Syn took another sip of her drink and looked around the club. She watched her brother and his clones for a moment. Mostly to make note of where they all were. Leaning back a bit she looked Raphael and Fiona over once more.
"Why would you not have guessed I was from a little down in Virginia?" He asked, just before Fiona's question.
Raphael watched Fiona charm a fellow over to her, dismissing him as soon as he was near. He was not entirely sure if he liked that, and for some reason it made his stomach burn with a feeling he could only describe as jealousy.
He pondered for a moment as to how answer it as Syn jumped in before him. He was find with this as it gave him a moment longer to think. He was not romantically engaged with anyone, nor had he been since before he was 'exiled' from home. He studied the two women, and answered along the same lines as Syn. "I'm not, though I wouldn't object to being so."
Fiona nodded and looked over at her neighboring mutants.
"Cause you seem very big city... Like some sort of celebrity." she said knowingly to Raph.
Turning to Syn:
"Yeah, I know what you mean Syn. Honestly, I always find myself wondering if the person would give me the time of day if it weren't for my powers. But then again, I've kind of never given anyone a chance."
Looking at the stupefied bartender, she asked for another mineral water. "I don't even think I know what it's like to be committed to anyone, much less kiss someone without having doubts in my mind. I've never kissed someone normally. But then again, being a mutant, I don't think I can ask for much normalcy, huh?" she giggled.
"I was going to get married once." she said, randomly. Looking about absentmindedly, she laughed about old memories. "It's amazing how one remembers things randomly like that, isn't it?"
Raphael frowned for a moment at Fiona's comment that sounded a little too knowing. As though she had been to one of his fights, or heard about him and recognized his cage-name when the bartender addressed him by it. He performed a mental shrug and watched the pair of women talk for a moment when Fiona mentioned having been engaged before, again. "Something like that, fond memory? It is the second time you've brought it up Fiona, care to share the deeper side of that random tidbit?"
"It is?" said Fiona, and shrugged. "I guess when things piss someone off they tend to come spilling out." Remembering what she had mentioned earlier, she sighed when she realized what had happened.
"Oh, but what I had mentioned was something that happened due to my powers. That was stupid. What I just mentioned now is something that I always think about when I meet people. Cause, you see, when I was younger I did love someone, and we were going to get married. However, the person was only in it for my power and the rush it brings."
Wondering to herself why she mentioned this, she shrugged again. "I guess I just mention it to see if you guys had any similar experience... Cause honestly I still haven't come to terms with it." she said, and now laughed at the fact she sounded like she was in rehab.
"Can't say that I have had a similar experience. I have kissed before without the use of my power but that a long time ago." Syn ran her finger around the edge of her glass. I can honestly say I have no idea what true love feels like. I hope to find out someday though."
Raphael nodded along with Fiona's story. He turned his head to take in Syn's statements, and chose simply not to tack on his own statement. He had not experienced true love either, and had been a long time since he had kissed anyone, period. He knew he had a bit of charm, and magnetism, but it came in the form of a flurry of fists and he typically turned down the offers that followed a fight.
As Fiona recommended something crazy, he was sure that his face took on a look of 'wtf?' or 'I'm not ready for that', as it elicited a laugh from her, and a clarification.
"I'd be up for that," he stood up, looked at Syn for confirmation, then began to lead the way across the club towards the doorway upstairs.

“ Debutante dress huh? You wouldn’t still have that would you? All prim and proper.”
Iara pursed her lips and pulled on the hem of her dress. She sighed and looked back up at the mischevious face.
"6." She saw the questioning look on his face and sighed. "I have 6 debutante dresses for from the age of 9 and up. When I was 13 my dress had so much crinoline that I took up the whole back seat of mi papai's mustang. I looked like a cake topper. A bit white cake topper."
Nail was surprised by Nikas forwardness, but he didn't pull away. He really didn't know how to answer the questions, so he figured he'd start with the easy ones first and work his way there.
"Well, uh, I'm nineteen, and lived most of my life just outside Victoria, one of the biggest places in Canada... and..."
Nail looked into Nikas eyes, as if he would somehow find the answer to his next question within them.
"I geuss I'd like to know more about you Nika..."
He squeezed her hand lightely, and glanced around not really sure what to say.
"How bout you? How old are you, where do you want to go, and what do you want to do?"
Feeling her hand squeezed gently made her smile at Nail and squeeze his hand back. "I'm sixteen and I lived most of my life in Boston."
She had to think for a moment about her answers to Nails last couple questions. "I want to go to Xaviers Mansion to live and learn."
She looked him in the eyes for a moment and tilted her head in a curious look. "Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something else you'd like to know Nail?"
"Yeah, how about where the heck you learned to dance?"
The image of her flying glowsticks were still imprinted in his mind. He had so much truouble trying to keep up with her, it left him wondering where she learned how to rave, and even how she kept up that pace without getting tired.
Raphael stepped onto the roof, looking up at the night sky, a full moon winking back at him as clouds rolled lazily by. The air was nice, cool, and invigorating, not stifling and closed like that of the club beneath their feet. He looked to Fiona and Syn as they went nearly opposite directions. He shrugged to himself and moved around the only structure on the roof top, a blocky building that sheltered the top of the stairs they had just climbed. He looked up at the edge, a little bit out of his reach while just standing, then jumped up and climbed ontop.
He stood for a moment from his newly claimed vantage point, surveying the rest of the roof and the two women in his company once more. He then moved to the center of the 'building' and sat down cross-legged, Fiona's sigh reaching him on the wind. He called out a response, "Why's that?"
