The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Andrew looked down at himself and then over at Gina. Then he looked at Tasean with an arched eyebrow and a look that clearly said he was questioning the other man's sanity.
"I'm a bit too skinny to be Ken, Tasean."
Besides he wouldn't want to date Barbie anyway. He knew other more interesting girls and guys around here that he'd rather date than that piece of plastic. Of course the very idea was absurd to even think about. Realizing this he dropped the thought like a lump of lead and hauled himself up off of the couch.
The question about non-mutants gave him pause for a second or two.
"There might be a few hired on for staff and what not but I doubt it. Humans are quite welcome around here of course but because of the nature of it I don't think they're eager to put in an appearance here."
He paused as a thought occurred while he headed for the hallway.
"Maybe the parents of the students that still have parents or still talk to their parents every now and again."

Tasean laughed, both at the quizzical look and compliment from Andrew. He wasn't offended by it at all, Tasean sometimes questioned his own sanity. But then he was often heard saying he lived outside of everyone else's reality.
Andrew's next comments though did give Tasean a bit of a pause.
"Still talk to their parents?" he thought to himself.
Tasean could not think of any reason for a parent to not talk to their child. Especially not over something like being a mutant. That was definitely something that one was born with, and couldn't be helped. He couldn't think of one thing that would ever make him turn his back on any child he may or may not have, unless they expressed a total dislike for Patti Labelle that is.
Tasean followed Andrew into the hallway, linking arms with Andrew and Gina as if they were all old friends. He was relaxed and enjoying himself, with no reason to be afraid or on guard his playful tendencies were taking over. Light and mirth danced in his eyes as that indomitable smile played across his face.
"As big as this place is, I know you have to have like the best library in the City" Tasean said.
If there was anything he loved more than laughing, it was reading. And if anything got him more excited than Patti Labelle or a cute guy, it was definitely the prospect of a new, unexplored library.

Gina listened as Andrew diplomatically explained the human situation, nodding her head in agreement. It all made sense.
"There might be a few hired on for staff and what not but I doubt it. Humans are quite welcome around here of course but because of the nature of it I don't think they're eager to put in an appearance here... Maybe the parents of the students that still have parents or still talk to their parents every now and again."
Or foster parents, Gina added on mentally, still bobbing her head. Well, foster parent. She didn't even know her parents. Tasean seemed to be taken aback by the idea of mutant kids no longer talking to their parents, but the idea was familiar enough to her. She was more baffled by Tasean's reaction, which had seemed a touch unexpected to her.
"It's quite common, for family dynamics to change when a kid turn out to be a mutant," Gina agreed, "Some parents handle the change really well and others... well, they don't. It all depends."
Tasean looped his arm through hers as they marched onward, taking the gargoyle girl by surprise. She wasn't as accustomed to people invading her personal space the way she often did to them. Don't get her wrong, she liked how upbeat he was, but she was pleasantly surprised. She gave a halfsmile, letting herself get pulled along by the disturbingly cheerful man, who seemed pretty pent on getting to the library.
Gina glanced at Andrew inquiringly. Did Tasean even know where he was going? She didn't. Where was the library from here, anyways? The maze-like halls had her disoriented, though she had a feeling if she was able to view this building from above, with all of the rooms exposed, navigation would be much easier.

He nodded to Gina's statement that she made in response to the non-vocal reaction Tasean had to what Andrew had said. Tasean obviously hadn't seen how bad it could get for a mutant kid. Andrew knew what he personally had gone through was kid stuff and entirely his fault. It could have been a lot worse. He considered himself pretty lucky that he'd only ended up estranged from his parents instead of what else could have happened.
"It's just like what you see in your job Tasean. Senseless hatred and violence against children but with a different excuse. Sometimes the kid breaks it off. Other times the parents do for one reason or another. There are a lot of mutant kids out there in bad situations. The ones whose parents support and cherish them after their gift is revealed are the lucky ones."
That said Andrew set to the task that Tasean had pretty much appointed him to of leading them to the library. Andrew grinned.
"I'll tell Kealey you said that when we get there."
It wouldn't take too long to get there. Andrew knew most of the corridors of his home very well now. Meanwhile they'd stroll past classrooms with arms linked and chatter.

Tasean let Andrew lead him to the library. As he walked he filed away the information about mutant children. Once again the social worker in him began formulating idea's on how to help those kind of children. The least he could so was usher them to this place if he came across any in his work.
"Who is Kealey?" Tasean asked as he continued through the maze work of hallways. He completely gave up trying to remember which way he was going about four doors and three turns back

Gina smiled at Andrew explanation. It was very well-put.
"What do you do for work, Tasean?" Gina inquired, curiosity peaked by the 'sensless hatred and violence against children' of which Andrew spoke. How old were these two, anyways? They both looked young, but anyone who worked with such serious business had to have been old enough to get trained for it.
"Ooh, the library," Gina agreed, tail flicking excitedly.
She'd been there a few times, on days during which the weather had been too awful to go outside. Though she'd been to the library a few times, Gina didn't know Kealey either-- not as Kealey, anyways. She knew the librarian to be Miss Quinn, and even so, she hadn't frequented the library enough to make a personal connection with her yet. Even now, she struggled to recall the librarian's last name. They were bound to get to know each other eventually, due to Gina's avid reading, but the opportunity had yet to present itself.

Andrew's eyes slide to the side as Gina asked about Tasean's job. He'd let Tasean explain it. Considering how upset he'd been when Andrew met him due to the job Andrew almost had to wonder if he'd be able to talk about it calmly. But this was Tasean and from what he could see he did an excellent job at keeping himself upbeat. Instead he turned to answering the question about Kealey.
"Kealey is the librarian and a good friend of mine. She's the one who dragged me here after I got the job offer from Sam. I helped her pick out a present for her boyfriend."
Tasean and Gina both seemed very excited to see the library. Gina had probably already been there and, given her reaction, loved the place. It wouldn't be long now. The doors were just in sight now as they turned a corner.

Tasean looked down at Gina, a wicked gleam in his eyes.
"Well my dearest Gina, by day I am a Social Worker, lending my services to anyone who needs me" he said before lowering his voice to a sultry whisper. "And by night I am a stripper, lending my services to anyone who needs me" he said before breaking out into a loud laugh. The mirth of the humor did not reach his eyes though. There the shadows of what happened two nights ago still lingered as he thought about his job.
Thinking about those two little girls made Tasean begin to think about what some mutant children must have gone through, or going through. He squeezed Andrew and Gina's arms just a little tighter as he listened to Andrew explain who Kealey was. As the door to the library came into view, Tasean filed his more negative emotions away for release at a later time. While he was here he planned on enjoying himself and being the good little tourist and didn't want to ruin the trip with his thoughts of anger at parents who hurt their kids; or his feelings of inadequacy.

So, Kealey was the librarian, Gina noted, filing that bit of info away for when she might need it. Kealey... Miss Quinn... librarian at Xavier's... got it.
"Kealey is the librarian and a good friend of mine. She's the one who dragged me here after I got the job offer from Sam. I helped her pick out a present for her boyfriend."
"Aw," Gina smiled, as Andrew gave a very brief description of how he knew her, "That's cute." She then turned to Tasean, and saw that he wore an almost maniacal glimmer in his gaze. She hesitated a moment, put-off by the glimmer in his eyes.
"Well my dearest Gina, by day I am a Social Worker, lending my services to anyone who needs me-- and by night I am a stripper, lending my services to anyone who needs me."
"A stripper?!" Gina exploded, her face flushing at the notion. As if to be contaminated by such an occupation, Gina suddenly pulled free of his grasp and slowed down a few strides, her brow stitching at the idea. Her small-town, sheltered mind went overheated at the notion-- a stripper? And then, Tasean let out a booming laugh. She should have known that he was kidding. Gina jogged to catch up once again, pushing him lightly in the arm, "You're insane. You're outrageous, Tasean."
She looped her arms through his again, smiling at the jest. Gina would have to keep an eye on this one. He couldn't always be taken seriously. They slipped into a brief, distracted silence, and Tasean's hold on her arm tightened momentarily. She glanced at him, making note of the disconnect between the smile on his face and the look in his eyes. She didn't know what it was, but it didn't strike her as... characteristic as per the typical, jovial look that Tasean held in his eyes. The look was gone, though, as soon as the library came into view. Gina, though curious enough to stare at him a few moments longer, said nothing.

Andrew wasn't quite sure what to think of Tasean's joke. He laughed regardless because it was funny. However the thought of Tasean as a stripper did have a certain appeal that Andrew put aside for another time. Watching the man's face after he told the joke made it clear that what he'd seen on the job a couple of days ago hadn't lost any of it's potency from the intervening time. When Tasean's grip on his arm increased Andrew tightened his own in a supportive gesture. If Tasean wasn't willing to say anything about it at the moment there wasn't much he could do. He'd show what support he could.
To cover the whole thing, though Andrew was fairly sure Gina had noticed, Andrew smiled at Gina when she commented on his meeting of Shin and Kealey and nodded.
"They are sickeningly cute together."
Her reaction to Tasean's joke was amusing enough as well and Andrew chuckled a little. They were at the doors of the library. Andrew disentangled himself from the two and pushed open one of the doors with a bow.
"Welcome to the library, domain of the fair Lady Kealey."
Andrew tried not to smirk too much at his own statement.

When the tour-taking trio arrived in the library, Kealey was doing pretty much the same thing she did all the time when she was in the library…shelving books. It was amazing to the blond, just how many books managed to find their way off the shelves every few days. Surely the students weren’t doing that much work…she’d seen them lounging in the living room, out on the lawns, and in the kitchens. Surely there was no need for the books spread on almost every table of the library, or piled behind the small circulation desk. She sighed…it was what it was, and she’d known what she was taking on when she’d taken a job in a building full of teenagers. The sigh turned into a low chuckle, and the blond pushed the cart she’d been filling back towards the desk so she could sort and set them up for re-shelving. She was just getting into the task when she heard her name.
Looking up and in the direction of the emotions that had just entered the room, Kealey smiled. She recognized one of those voices! Leaping at the excuses to leave her boring chore for a few moments, the Mansion Librarian approached the group just in time to hear Andrew’s comment.
The people he had with him were obviously new to the Mansion…Kealey didn’t know them, and she smiled at each in turn. ”And I rule my domain with an iron fist…” she commented with a bright twinkle in her eyes. The trio seemed to be having a good time, if their emotions were any indication, and Kealey immediately wondered what she’d missed. "I'm Kealey Quinn." she said by way of introduction, her Irish accent coloring the words as they flowed. "Lovely to meet you."
Introductions complete, Kealey turned to Andrew, ”Are these new residents?” she asked with barely contained glee. ”Did you already take them to Shin to get their paperwork filled out?” She paused for a moment, thinking, then glanced at the circulation desk, ”I could always help if he wasn’t around…or are you just looking for a tour of the library?”

Tasean looked into the library and at the one named Kealey. He was about to step past her into her wonderful domain, until he heard that voice. It caused him to stop and stare at her in wonder, and just a touch of envy. Tasean had never met anyone from Ireland, but thanks to his mother's almost fanatical love of Touched by an Angel, he had fallen in love with accent of it's natives. He was now very conflicted, not being able to decide on whether to engage Kealey in a long conversation just to hear her talk, or rush past her and start exploring the unfamiliar library.
"My name is Tasean, Tasean Walker" he said to the blonde. He decided to kill two birds with one stone. Though he normally ignored librarians, preferring to explore for hours on end a library; he knew that no one would know this Library better than Kealey.
He chuckled at her statement about her domain. "And what a beautiful domain you have m'lady" he said before giving her a flourishing bow.
Tasean began to edge away as she spoke to Andrew, because he could swear he was seeing a section of books written by Marion Zimmer Bradley. If they had Darkover Landfall, he would die right here in the library!

As the Librarian approached, Gina unfastened Tasean's arm from her own, smiling politely. She had to admit, librarian wasn't the first thing that came to mind when Kealey approached. Gina visualized librarians as being more frumpy. No, rather than seeming frumpy, she just seemed... well, kind of cool, though Gina would never admit to thinking such a thing.
"Gina Schuyler," Gina echoed back, "It's a pleasure." She wasn't nearly as taken by Kealey's brogue as Tasean was, but she had to admit that the cadence of her voice was pleasing. A nice change from the way New Yorkers spoke, anyways. Gina watched in mild amusement as Tasean stepped forward and bowed with a flourish. Same old over-the-top Tasean, Gina smiled, What a goof. Gina patted her face, as though embarrassed by his antics.
Kealey then turned to Andrew, and began a barage of questions about if they were students, and if they were registered, or if they just wanted to tour the library. Gina didn't answer aloud, but she was already registered and had been there for a while. She just had somehow missed out on the official tour. Gina turned to Andrew, bouncing up and down lightly. Please, let her come anyways, she chanted in her mind, She's so cool.
She saw Tasean edging away towards the books, as Kealey spoke, and grinned wordlessly. To go over, or to listen to Kealey and Andrew converse? Gina kept rooted by the two of them, as if held by a tether. Her gaze went to each as they spoke, and her hands were clasped before her patiently (but only because there were no pockets on her skirt).

The idea of Kealey ruling imperiously over all she surveyed was a highly amusing one. Therefore shortly after she claimed to rule her domain with an iron fist Andrew had to try and stop himself from laughing. He simply stood aside and watched the introductions. Tasean was his usual charming self though he seemed to stop dead when he heard her speak. The accent perhaps? It was a lovely one after all. Gina was polite and went quiet after introducing herself. At Kealey's sudden barrage of questions Andrew laughed a bit.
"Down girl." a smirk occupied his face, "Gina is already a resident but she hasn't been here long. Tasean on the other hand is new friend of mine. He was pretty thrilled about the notion of this place so I offered him a tour. I don't know if he plans on becoming a resident now or ever but I figured there was no harm in letting him get acquainted with the place."
Glancing over Andrew noticed Tasean edging toward the books. By the look on his face you'd have thought he'd just seen paradise. A smirk crossed Andrew's face.
"Careful there Tasean. I don't think Kealey wants to have to clean drool off of her books."
Noticing Gina's excitement at the prospect of a library tour from Kealey and Tasean's wandering attentions Andrew just shook his head.
"I think if we want to do a library tour we'd better do it now or we'll lose both of them to the siren song of your bookshelves."

Boy, this was an excitable bunch! Kealey’s attention bounced back and forth between them as they all responded to her greeting with names. The gentleman she didn’t know called himself Tasean, and he seemed very pleased to meet her. She smiled, she was always flattered by people who enjoyed her company, and again…they were all so happy!
Andrew pointed out that Gina had been living in the Mansion for some time now and that Tasean was not going to be a resident. Andrew rebuffed her excitement and the blond blushed, still almost bouncing, ”I’m sorry…it’s just that they’re excited…and you’re happy…and I was already happy. I can’t help it.”
Andrew commented that Tasean needed to be careful and Kealey swung her gaze in his direction only to find that he was making his way further into the Library. Kealey couldn’t help but be excited by this development and she followed, almost oblivious to Andrew’s last comment.
”We’ve got a great selection actually…plenty of non-fiction, but a great fiction selection too.” she stepped in stride with Tasean and gestured up to the second level, ” The non-fiction books are upstairs.”
Kealey looked around the library with pride and grinned, ”You should have seen this place when I first got here.” she said, ”It’s taken me almost a year to get things to this point.”
