The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Make a Right in 0.3 miles" the mechanical voice of the gps system said.
Tasean drove his dark green Toyota Camry down the road, following the navigation system's direction. Both hands were on the wheel, and he was sitting very close to the steering wheel.
"I really hate driving in New York" he said to himself, and the gps.
His knuckles were white from how hard he was gripping the wheel. In the south Tasean was considered an aggressive driver. In New York he might as well have been peddling a tricycle through the busy streets.
He made the right like the gps told him too, and then he heard.
"Your destination is on your right in 3.2 miles."
Tasean sighed in relief, travelling down the road. He put on his bluetooth headset and dialed Andrew's number; so that he could tell his friend that he would be at the Mansion gates in a matter of minutes.

Well at least he hadn't needed to bother with the cornbread. Baking during the day when the students were milling about and anyone could see was awkward. Andrew had become accustomed to his late nights. Right now he was sorting out some paper work. It wasn't much, just the papers for the last few students he'd greeted. They were quickly finished and stored in their proper places. Tasean was due at some time today. Andrew's cell sat on the desk within easy view and reach.
As though thinking it had made the thing ring his cell phone started up with the noises indicating that he had a call.
"Heh, maybe hanging around this place has caused one of the psychics to rub off on me."
Andrew picked up the phone and headed toward the entrance hall. After it jingled once more he flipped the small electronic device open and answered the call.
"Hey there Tasean. On your way?"
Down the stairs to the entrance hall he went, carefully watching his steps. How embarrassing would it be to fall down the stairs because he was talking to Tasean on the phone?

"Hey Kenny Ray" Tasean said "Yeah I should be pulling up here any..........whoa!"
As he was talking to Andrew, Tasean drove up to the gated mansion. Tasean knew that the place was big, but definitely not this big.
"You definitely weren't kidding when you said it was a mansion were you? And I thought some of the old plantation houses back home were big. This place is huge! My apartment can probably fit in one of the closets here!" Tasean said and then began chuckling. "Not that I plan on going in the closet anytime soon."
He pulled his Camry up to the gate, waiting for it to open. He looked at the well kept lawn and the beautiful structure of the house in awe, and a little envy.

Andrew was on his way through the doors toward the gate when his surprise registered over the phone. He couldn't keep from grinning and he was sure it made itself apparent when he spoke.
"Like it? Welcome to the Mansion, mutant school and my home."
He might miss Lexington and Kentucky but the Mansion felt like home now. Tasean's response had him chuckling.
"I could give you a tour of one of the closets if you want. They are rather roomy."
Andrew heard the tease and amusement in his own voice but shrugged it off as he buzzed the man through the gates and headed over toward the garage area where he'd likely park.
"Just follow the drive round to the garage and I'll meet you there."

Tasean drove slowly down the driveway taking in the sights. As long as he'd been alive he had never seen a house so big.
"I'm definitely going to look like the country bumpkin visiting his big city cousin" Tasean said to himself.
As he rounded the drive to the garage Tasean began to compose himself. He didn't want to embarass himself infront of Tasean, or anyone else he might happen across on his tour of the mansion. He parked his car and got out slowly, removing the bluetooth from his ear. He decided to leave his cell phone in the car, he didn't know the rules about phones with cameras on then at this place.
Just for fun, and because the garage was rather big Tasean yelled out "Hello!" just to hear the echo.

Andrew took his time walking up to the garage. Tasean could have a long look around before he got there to show him the rest of the place. Andrew waltzed in just after Tasean had shouted hello. He smirked a little.
"Greeting any invisible mutants that might be nearby Tasean?"
He walked over to his friend and offered a hand for a shake.
"Good to see ya Tasean. Didn't have any trouble getting here did ya?"
Around Tasean he resorted to a more casual mode of speech. It wasn't quite the drawl he'd grown up with in Kentucky but it certainly didn't match up with a New Yorker's accent either. Andrew had to wonder if Tasean's amazement would last the tour. The Mansion was still pretty amazing sometimes but Andrew was mostly used to it by now.

Tasean smiled as Andrew approached. He took the offered hand, and then pulled Andrew into a hug.
"No didn't have much trouble getting here, besides those crazed maniac people called New York drivers, everything was fine." Tasean said smirking.
He looked around the garage and then looked back to Andrew. "Are there really invisible mutants in this place?" Tasean asked. His eyes keep darting here and there, thinking he saw something on his peripheral. "Or are you just pulling the like of this 'ole country bumpkin?"
Tasean was smiling and laughing as always, but inside he was shaking with excitement and nervousness. He was ready to get the tour started, and see what other wonders this place held. And he wanted to meet some other mutants. That had been on his mind since he left the park yesterday.

The hug was unexpected but Andrew grinned regardless. Tasean had gotten here fine. The only trouble, according to him, being with the other drivers. Andrew chuckled, first at Tasean's analysis of New York City drivers and then at his question regarding invisible mutants.
"There probably are. I haven't met any yet but there are a lot of people here to meet. Besides, if they went around invisible all the time how would you even know they were there at all?"
Andrew grinned and then laughed.
"Come on Tasean, I'll show ya around. Unless you came just to see the garage?"
He waltzed over to the door that led into the Mansion proper and waited for Tasean. There was plenty to do and see around here and the garage and talk of invisible mutants was the least of it.

Tasean eagerly followed Andrew, though he was desperately trying not too look like an excited puppy.
"So do you know how old this place is?" Tasean asked, making small talk as he followed Andrew into the main part of the Mansion. "It is a really beautiful place"
He placed his hands into the pockets of his jeans, trying not to look so fidgety and awe-struck.
"I know some people who would sell their first born child to just rent this place for a weekend and have a awesome function!" Tasean said, failing miserably and keeping his excitement in check

Andrew led the way from the garage down the hall that led to the foyer with Tasean following and still asking questions. Andrew chuckled a little before replying.
"No idea how old it is honestly. I haven't spent the time on learning the little details like that."
There had been other things to do once Andrew had gotten here beyond learning trivia. Still, it was something to look up or ask someone later. If he had the time and inclination. Tasean let his excitement get the better of him and Andrew laughed again. Seeing someone this excited by the Mansion was really funny. It was just home to Andrew now. A very big home with some down right peculiar people living in it but home none the less.
"I can just imagine it." Andrew smirked, "Don't think they rent it out though so unless you can figure out a way to get the students and staff out of the place for a day that wild party is a no go."

Tasean continued following Andrew as he shook his head. "Well if they ever need a way to pay the bills around here, that's and option" he said
Tasean looked at the pictures on the walls, and the over all decor of the place. He didn't know what he was expecting to see when he thought about a house that was the dwelling place of mutants; but this was definitely well decorated and cared for.
"I would die if I had to clean this place alone" Tasean whispered to himself.
Everything in the house simply looked...expensive.
"Somebody is definitely loaded." he thought
"So where to first oh Master or Ceremony?" Tasean asked Andrew, giving him an exaggerated bow and talking in a very bad British accent.

Andrew smirked at Tasean when he asked where they were going and bowed to the 'Master of Ceremonies'. At that point they were just entering the Foyer with it's twin staircases leading to the second floor. Andrew took a glance around the room before replying.
"Well I figured we'd tour the first floor first. The classrooms are here as well as the kitchen, dining room, living room, and a couple of other things. There is also an entrance to the library but that's a two floor deal so I figure we'll end the first floor tour there and head to the second floor."
The accent nearly dropped out of his voice as he spoke. This was stuff he went over regularly with new arrivals. It had simply become habit to play down any trace of accent he had. Most of the time he only saw the people he greeted in passing in the halls. Greeting someone was time he spent getting to know them, not vice versa.
"Oh, and I know someone who is English if you want to work on that accent."

Tasean looked up at the grand double staircase in awe. The entire place looked like something out of a movie. Amazingly though the number one thought in Tasean's head was sliding down the railing of those stairs.
"Jealous..." he whispered.
Then he looked at Andrew and listened to him explain the game plan. "Sounds alright to me good buddy." he said.
He followed Andrew, taking in the sights, smiling at everything in the Mansion as the passed through.
"So how long have you been here exactly Andrew." Tasean said, keeping up the small talk.

Andrew headed for the corridor that would take them past the kitchen, dining room, and living room. They were the more interesting of the things on the first floor. At least for him. Tasean was quite obviously beyond the age where he'd need to know what classrooms were where.
"I'm not entirely sure. Probably about four months or so I'd guess. Sam offered me the job and Kealey, the librarian I suppose, brought me here. Time tends to fly when you attract trouble."
They arrived at the kitchen and Andrew stood to one side of the door way to allow the other man to get a look at the space.
"And here's the kitchen. With all the students and staff it's almost never empty, even in the dead of night."
In fact at the moment a couple of students were having a snack and it looked like studying at the table.

Tasean looked around at the large kitchen that looked like something straight off of the Food Network. Even in the kitchen, everything looked expensive, at least to Tasean's taste.
He noticed the students who were currently in the kitchen and gave them a small nod and bright smile. He didn't want to interrupt the eating or their studying, but he desperately wanted to talk to a student eventually.
Tasean looked back at Andrew grinning. "What, no private chef? No team of culinary wizards flown in from across the country? Tsk, tsk tsk. You're slipping already Andrew."
Tasean patted his friend on the shoulder in mock sympathy for the lack of private chefs, laughing the whole time. "And I thought this was a real mansion."
