The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hey guys. I'm sorry I havent been on in a little while, and haven't responded to any post that I need too. Unfortunately I won't be getting to that anytime soon. My father lost his battle with pancreatic cancer last week and it is effecting the family really hard. My mother isn't taking it well at all, and honestly neither am I. I've left school for the semester, and I just really need to get into a better mental and spiritual state, and really be there for my mother. So I don't know when I'll be back, but I know I'll be back eventually.

Tasean was conflicted and it showed on his face. As much as he wanted to find his young charge, there were rules, and they were in place for a reason. As a social worker Tasean knew he was not to enter any building, even an abandoned one, without some sort of police escort. And whatever Rook was doing to those stuffed animals, he still didn't qualify. Also, in this area, there was no telling who was in the building. The last thing the young social worker wanted was to go into the building and end up defending himself for a drug crazed maniac.....again. Once was just the number of times you needed to live through that type of predicament to drive the lesson home.
"No, just hold on" Tasean told Rook before pulling out his cell phone and dialing a few numbers. He turned away from his companion and walked away a couple of steps, so his conversation couldn't be overheard. He reported the missing boy, and the location of the empty building they were at to the police, and requested assistance. Of course, the police being who they were told him it would be sometime tomorrow before anyone was free. Tasean was quite sure it had more to do with the fact that he, and his client were mutant, more than it had to do with scheduling conflicts. He sighed and hung up the phone, and then turned back to Rook.
"No, we won't be going in. I don't want to frighten him into doing some stupid if he is there, and if he isn't I don't want to disturb whoever is. I'll come back tomorrow with some of NYC's finest and check it out" he informed the stuffed animal slicing mutant.

Tasean laughed at Chase's answer about being a spy. It was a genuine laugh, because he found the answer funny, and something that James Bond would probably say. This interview, in the young social workers opinion, was going well, and it seemed that Chase was quite adjusted and getting along just fine.
"I'm glad you are making friends, I found in my younger years that trouble is so much more fun when you are with your gang." Tasean said, with a wicked gleam in his eye.
Tasean sobered up for his next couple of questions, these were a little more serious in nature, and would really give the social worker more insight into how Chase was really doing.
"What about your old family, your blood family? Do you miss them, do you ever think about them? Ever try and contact them?" he asked,
The light riding mutant knew that children who clung to their birth family, or family of origination, where more likely to rebel against foster or adopted parents, runaway, or even do drugs some studies showed. Tasean wanted to make sure that Chase was not headed down that path.

Tasean grunted in frustration. If only there was enough light for him to scope out the place, this would be much easier. His young charge knew about Tasean's power, and that probably why he was hiding out in a place like this, somewhere.
"To be honest he'd probably prefer somewhere indoors and off the ground." Tasean answered the man called Rook. "If he stays in one place too long, the vines begin to grow rapidly, he really can't control it. So if he's indoors and not close to the ground, no vines."
Tasean had told the young mutant that he needed to find someplace or someone to help him control his mutation. He couldn't very well live in pent house for the rest of his life, if he could ever afford it. He had to come to the ground and sometime. Like most young people, the teenager wanted the quick fix, and not the one that required work, Tasean had though he was getting through, the boy was even willing to be introduced to some people over at Xaviers, but then he'd just disappeared. After the third missed appointment, Tasean had decided to take matters into his own hands, which is how he ended up in this labyrinth of alleys.

Tasean starred at the young shape shifter for a moment when he heard his own voice coming from Chase's body. He then began to laugh, leaning back in his chair. If Tasean had been able to imitate anyone, it would've definitely been his teachers, especially some of his more stuffy college professors.
"Well you're a regular old double-o mutant aren't ya" Tasean said jokingly as he collect himself again.
"Staying over at Xavier's must be pretty cool huh?" the social worker asked. "Making lots of friends there?"
Tasean knew that they best way to tell if a child was getting along alright or not was to see how socially active they were. Humans are social creatures by nature, and that held true for mutants as well, and young children even doubly so. A child who was always separated and reclusive was showing, in a not so subtle way, that something was wrong. If Chase was making friends and being social active, he was definitely well on his way to recovery and a healthy adult life.

Tasean looked at Rook, considering. Two sets of eyes were better then one, to be sure. And with all the shadows in the maze of alleys, Tasean's own mutant ability was all but useless, the light wasn't strong enough for him to expand his consciousness. Rook seemed like a sane individual, except for the bane of stuffed animals part, but he had an explanation for that. Eventually the young social worker decided to take the man up on his offer. And he fervently hoped he would not regret it.
"Alright, you can help me look for him. However, if we do find him, stay behind me. The kid has a hard time trusting strangers, and it took me forever to gain his trust. I don't want to loose what little bit of rapport I have built with him, so don't approach him or even talk to him, let me do all the talking" Tasean informed Rook, with a no nonsense tone in his voice. Playful and flirtatious he might be in a social setting, but when it came to his clients, Tasean was all business.

Tasean smiled down at the young mutant. "Well it's kinda hard to explain, so forgive me if I confuse you," he said as he turn and took a few steps back to his seat "but it's like this. I can somehow sync up my mind with the surrounding light to expand my mind. So it's like I'm seeing everything as if I'm right there, though my body hasn't moved." Tasean said, simplifying the explanation of his ability as best he could. Truth be told, the social working mutant didn't know how to explain it properly on any level. He just did what he did, and that's all he knew about it.
"How about you? Every impersonate a police officer, or a teacher?" Tasean said with a wicked gleam in his eye. Oh the things he would do, for fun, if he was able to change his shape. "Or maybe a celebrity?" Of course he was joking, trying to lighten the mood further, and help young Chase not take this, and any future meetings tooseriously.

Tasean arched his eyebrow mischievously as he began to use his mutant ability. A cascade of colors dance across his eyes as his brain waves quickly synced up with the surrounding light waves, and sent his consciousness out. There wasn't really any physically sensation to riding light waves, but the young social worker always imagined himself as some type of unseen ethereal spirit floating through the air.
Tasean sent his mind down to the courtyard, taking in the seen his ability gave him. Large or small, if it the light bounced off it, Tasean could see it clear as day. Between the light waves and his own brain waves the mental image he got was up close and personal, every minute detail was in his mind. Once Tasean had some detail that he was sure young Chase would not have been able to discern from this height, he called his consciousness back into his body. There was a quick moment of disorientation, as his mind settled back into it's rightful place, but then he just smiled and pointed down to a bush on the far side of the courtyard.
"Down in that bush there is a whole nest of caterpillars hatching. By tomorrow, they'll have eaten half the plant unless I tell the lawn care guys" Tasean informed his young acquaintance, also making a mental not to warn the guys who kept the courtyard plants looking green and healthy.

Tasean nodded, happy to hear Chase talk about Xavier's and Mama T in such a way. If everything went smoothly, as it seemed to be going, that would be Chase's permanent home and family, and it made the young social worker happy to know Chase was at least content with the choice.
He looked at the young shape shifter, grinning at the last question. "Why yes I am, nothing so totally awesome as changing shape but..." Tasean looked around, almost always at a loss for words to explain his mutation. Finally he got up and went to stand at the large window on the northern wall of this office. He motioned for Chase to join him by the big glass opening.
"Tell me what you see out there" Tasean told his young client.

"I'm a social worker for mutants" Tasean informed the not so much a stranger, stranger. "One of my clients has not been showing up at my agency or at the home I had arranged for him, and this place was one of his old haunts. You haven't happened to see a young kid who makes thorny vines sprout with every step have you?" he asked.
Tasean was actually quite worried about the boy, especially after the conversations he had had with Lumen and Jorge about young mutant kids disappearing. The boy had been through enough abuse and trauma in his young life, and Tasean was trying to rectify that. But when the young mutants skipped out on counseling sessions, disappeared from your foster home and stopped contacting your case worker, making a better life for him became extremely hard for Tasean, said caseworker.

"Syracuse hm? Nice. How about your new home? Liking it there" Tasean asked nonchalantly. He wanted this conversation to feel like just that, a nice little chat between friends, and not some kind of formal interview. "Everything going ok with the family?"
Though the young social worker didn't have the years of experience that other people did, he was very much in tune with how other people felt. That was one of the traits that made he want to be a social worker. Not only did he feel how other people felt, he also wanted to help them and fix their problems. Like a typical Capricorn, he didn't believe anything could be done right unless he had a hand in it. Sometimes Tasean wished that his mutation gave him the ability to see other peoples emotions, rather than the physical worl.

Tasean kept a straight face and tried not to react as Rook explained himself. Even though Tasean was also a mutant, he decided to withhold that information, until he could fully assess Rook. The young social working mutant knew that not everyone was happy to be mutant, and not everyone was a good mutant. Besides that, Tasean's mutation was more for reconnaissance, there were no offensive or more importantly in this situation, defensive capabilities. And whatever this Rook person could do, it involved the shredding of teddy bears, and Tasean didn't fancy being a human test subject.
"I'm Tasean" was all he said at first, still quite tense. Ever since the attack at the agency, Tasean had become a little more reserved and wary around strangers, even those claiming to be mutant. He didn't jump at shadows or whispers, but he was definitely more cautious, and being in an alley with an unknown mutant definitely put him on high alert.
"So you're a stuffed animal ripper mutant" Tasean asked, trying to interject some humor into the situation and lighten the mood a bit.

Tasean sat up, and dusted the peanuts that had landed on his chest unto the floor. He'd pick them up later. The social worker mutant grinned at the young shapeshifter, glad that Chase was at least willing to make conversation.
"I'm alright. Not liking all this cold weather of course. I'm a Southern boy, born and raised. All this Antarctic weather up here in the Big Apple is freezing my blood." Tasean said, giving a visible shiver.
It got cold in North Carolina, but nothing compared to the winters here in New York. Tasean didn't think that he would ever get used to the, what he called, ungodly cold.
"What about you Chase? You like to cold?" he asked.

Tasean grimaced slightly as his hands search the pockets of his coat and realized he had nothing on him that could be used as a weapon, in case this person tried to attack. When the man spoke, Tasean only stood for a moment, without responding. He certainly didn't sound like he was high or influenced by some type of drug. But who went around tearing up stuffed animals in alleyways? Something was definitely amiss. Tasean continued to inspect the man, and judged that they were probably around the same age. Could be the man was a psychopath, or maybe the toys were a gift to a girlfriend that he broke up with.
Tasean decided to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, but he never took his hands out of his pea coat pockets, and he never moved an inch. If it came down to fight or flight, the young light riding mutant would be prepared for either.
"Hello." he responded, somewhat tight lipped. Tasean vowed that if he ever found his thorn growing mutant client, the boy would hear no end of it.

Tasean ushered the young mutant into his office, still all smiles. Thankfully Chase's file gave the social worker a heads up on his appearance, thought Tasean was a little shocked that such mutation showed at such an early age. Tasean's mutation didn't start activating until he was in high school, and he thought that was the norm. Still he wasn't too taken aback by young Chase's appearance. After you have met a man with a wicked looking beak on his face, or a girl with the hands and feet of an elephant, and tusks to match, nothing really could catch you off guard anymore.
Tasean closed the door to his office, and motioned for Chase to sit down as he took a chair opposite the boy. He took a couple of peanuts from a bowl sitting on his desk, and indicated that Chase could have some too if he wanted, but pushing the bowl towards the juvenile shapeshifter. On the desk were also a few bottles of water, and a bowl of different hard candies. Tasean knew that in order to get the complete truth out of Chase, he needed to make the boy feel as relaxed as possible. After all the Chase's file indicated he had been through, Tasean was sure the boy would be guarded, and any social worker worth his salt knew he had to break down the wall. Some preferred to break down the wall with force, but Tasean found that slow and steady won the race. He might not get the wall completely down in one interview, but if Chases left the agency today feeling even a little comfortable around Tasean, then the mission would be a success.
"So young man, how are you feeling?" Tasean asked, leaning back in his chair and throwing some peanuts in the air and trying to catch them in his mouth. Leisure was the way to go with kids.
