The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character
Personality: Anty hates being called by her full name and will chew anyone out for it. She has a quick temper, although not to the extent of a nuclear bomb. She has a lesser control over her thoughts, and usually says what she’s thinking, even if it may offend anyone. Especially if it would offend anyone.
Anty enjoys baiting people and likes to push their buttons. She is usually very sarcastic and uses that as a shield against ‘unhappy’ emotions like fear, sadness, and regret. She enjoys her opinions and always wants to be right, becoming angry when she is proven wrong. Tends to be pessimistic more often than not. She loves to joke around and be funny, sometimes at the expense of others.
Anty is very judgmental, which doesn’t make her the most loyal friend. If she doesn’t like what you’ve done once, she’ll be on her guard for the rest of the time she knows you. This is Anty’s usual personality; however, things can change drastically as she is affected by her own chemicals, giving her a highly unpredictable attitude.
Hobbies/ Interests: Anty enjoys ‘people-watching’ and loves to eat delicious food of any kind. Also enjoys walking and drawing profiles.
Job or part time job and description: Unemployed, but searching for one.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Most afraid of her imagination. Anty hates the dark and being left alone in depressing thoughts. She hates being proven wrong and being in pain. Also hates being tickled.
Special talents: Being sarcastic and drawing faces.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Anty likes accomplishing things no matter what and doesn’t really care about how she affects people. She is neutral because she can see the benefits of each side, but also the consequences. She acts how she would like to act.
Mutations: Emotion Manipulation
Mutation description: Anty has control over various chemicals that affect the emotions of humanoids. Having needle-like fangs on her fingertips that can shoot raw emotion, she can inject a person with a full dose within a minute (contact must be held for that minute or it leaves the dose uncompleted and will cause the victims reaction to be less than what Anty intended). A ‘full dose’ will immediately affect a person, changing their emotion(s). (Emotions develop however. Example- Anty shoots Bobby with a full dose of anger. He first becomes annoyed, then upset, and continues until he is in a rage. This is a quick cycle.)
When an emotion is forced upon a humanoid, most of the time they will react to it with instinctive actions. However, even though their emotions may change, anyone with sound control of their actions can fight against any primal urges the emotions may cause. (Full doses usually bring people out of their personalities into basic animalistic instinct because of the stress of having such an extreme feeling. Example- George got a full dose of fear of his dog, Fred. He either tries to kill Fred or runs away. ‘Fight or flight’ is instinctive.)
Anty refers to the needles on her fingers as her pins, even though they resemble snake fangs (Are actually in the shape of rose thorns). Only one ‘pin’ is placed on each finger, giving her ten. They are thin in width and only about a third of an inch in length, clear in color and nearly unbreakable. They also retract back into her fingertips, twisting upwards back into the finger pad. The pin is serrated on the inside to be able to hook into victims and to cut through her finger pad when they emerge. Each pin can inject any kind of emotion, but only one at a time. Example: If she were to inject you with three emotions, she would need three different fingers to do so. The pins are not limited to one chemical in each finger, they are not assigned with one substance and that finger only injects that chemical. The emotions are interchangeable in the pins, but it takes time for the chemicals to switch out. Switching usually takes 5 minutes, so Anty assigns fingers for each emotion so she doesn’t need to do this ‘switching out’ often.
Anty makes and contains the emotions in her own body, so she has a limited amount of how much of each emotion she can make and how fast it takes her. It usually takes a day to refill her injection glands and her holding limit is enough to infect three separate people completely of each sensation. The glands are found on the two sides of her abdomen. They are very sensitive, which is why she hates being tickled. The glands have separate chambers for each chemical sac and thin veins that are connected to carry the feelings to her pins. The glands and veins are covered in a thick, but movable, skin that protects them from punctures and bruises. However, Anty is not invulnerable to her chemicals and often finds herself feeling them when they are being produced. Because her glands can only hold about three complete doses, it takes her a day of recuperation to fill them back up. When they are being refilled, Anty feels those emotions the strongest and reacts to them the same way as her victims do. The glands are filled up unconsciously, but are made because Anty is feeling it so strongly.
Anty holds every emotion in those two areas of her body, and if they were ever to rupture… well. It wouldn’t be good. These glands also fuel Anty’s own emotions, although it doesn’t use up a lot of the chemical in order to affect herself (Ex- Anty feels angry so she used up a teaspoon of the anger chemical, while if she injects Bobby it will take a tablespoon for him to feel the same amount of anger Anty is feeling). Note- Anty doesn’t rely wholly on her glands to feel emotions. The emotions from her glands are used to enhance her original emotion.
Strengths: • Injection is very fast. Even a nick could infect a person, although it would be of a lesser amount. Full doses require longer time (one minute). • Because chemical absorption is so fast, she does not need to inject into a vein. The chemicals are absorbed into the bloodstream without being carried throughout the body. It takes about 30 seconds for full effect (for the emotions to develop fully) and lasts up to 7 hours depending on the dose. (10 minutes to a nick, a full dose equals 3 hours) • Being able to infect a person with pheromones is basically changing the way to how they will react to a situation. Even though their thoughts are the same, Anty changes the way a person responds. • Working with her chemicals for so long has made her an expert on how to affect the human (or mutant) body so she has an impressive knowledge of how to use and handle each dose of emotions and how to infect people correctly. • Her chemical emotions only affect the body and not the mind; however, the body can be pretty persuasive when set up against the brain…
Weaknesses: • Anty cannot influence anyone unless she breaks the skin with her pins. Nowhere else on her body can she have effects on a person. Because of this, she wouldn’t be a good asset if her hands were tied. • Anty is defenseless to her own chemicals when they are refilling, which makes her unstable. Being unstable can make Anty very emotionally wild and she is very vulnerable to outside influences at that time. • Because she is a humanoid, Anty can only affect other humanoids. Trying to infect animals would be ineffective. Her powers also are useless against mutants in animal shape because their physical bodies are not human. • Because the chemicals are contained in her body, Anty can only hold a limited amount. When her glands are empty they begin to refill themselves, which takes a lot of energy and leaves Anty feeling exhausted and weakened, as well as leaves her feeling the emotion for that period of time. It takes about a day to completely renew the chemicals. • A victim will only feel the emotion for a limited time and depending on the dose, leaving the effectiveness time dependant.
Fighting Style Explanation: Anty has no training besides basic instinct. Although she does have her pins to cause damage, they cause about as much damage as a small, serrated knife.
Pros for fighting style: Anty can cause a bit of damage with her pins.
Cons for fighting style: She has no training at all, and would probably be taken out quickly by a professional.
Faction Allegiance: Unaffiliated
History of Character: Anty was born in New York, New York to Keryl and Paul Plyde. Keryl was the daughter of a millionaire who had married her high school sweet heart because of her pregnancy. Keryl’s father was very angry with his daughter, but left Keryl a large enough sum of money to live decently. Because Keryl was familiar with lavish surroundings and wealth, she had a rude awakening by marrying Paul when she had his baby. Paul and Keryl argued extensively at home and it became worse when Paul got his job as a plumber, making enough money to live by, but not by Keryl’s standards.
When Keryl’s baby was born, she named her Antoinette Myndellia because she hoped her child would become better than she had turned out. This dream of Keryl’s died quickly, as she became disinterested in her child after taking up drinking to wash away her fights with Paul and her inactiveness at home. Paul stayed away from home as long as he could, avoiding his wife and responsibility as a father. Antoinette had essentially lost her mother and father at age 5. Once the girl was in the 4th grade, she would wander around New York, staying away from the quarreling house. She would go to parks and play imaginary games, heading home once she was hungry. Entering junior high school, Antoinette made everyone call her Anty, hating the unusual and fancy name her mom gave her. Anty got in many fights at school and didn’t get along with many people, in fact, she had no friends. She was good at seeing past facades people put up and hated them for lying. She didn’t get along with girls because of the ‘drama’ and their weird interests like clothes, make up, and boys. She didn’t like the boys for ogling the girls and pretending to be better to show off. She thought both sides were flawed and didn’t want to be a part of it. When she grew older however, she realized how much fun it was to make fun of them, as long as they didn’t realize she was doing so. Anty became a tease and would go through friends quickly, never liking the people, just enjoying the entertainment.
At the age of 14 Anty was at home, feeling unwell and so had stayed away from school. She was in her room when it happened. She was listening to her mother throw various objects around in a drunken anger. She could hear her mother coming towards her door and she got out of bed to lock the door, but her mother came in too quickly. As her mother continued to scream at her, Anty slapped the raging face out of fear and her own anger at her unloving mom. Her mother was shocked for a moment, as she had five thin scratches across her face from her daughter. Anty kept apologizing and saying sorry while her mother just stood there in a daze. After a minute had passed, something in Keryl snapped. She went ballistic on Anty, yelling with a new found fury. Keryl took Anty’s hands and made her slap herself on the face, leaving slight trails of blood where her fingertips hit. Anty tried to resist, but it just made her mother angrier and started hitting the girl herself. The violence only lasted a short period of time, but it had scarred Anty mentally and physically. Once her mother left the room to find something else to demolish, the hurt girl stared at her hands that had hurt herself and mother. Claw-like needles poked out from the middle of her fingertips, being the cause of the cuts. Anty became very angry and depressed with herself and began to scratch her arms furiously, jerking around and crying. She soon became so overcome with emotion and passed out on the floor. When she came to, she was sitting in the result of her open wounds and was quite shocked to discover she had tiny fangs on her fingers.
After that experience (which her mother totally forgot about, being too drunk to remember), Anty sometimes found her pins coming out randomly and stayed away from people. She didn’t gain control of them until after a year of scratches and accidents where people would start acting how she was feeling when she got too close. Anty realized that she could make other people feel exactly how she was feeling by cutting them with her pins. As time passed and she experimented with her new found abilities (which she kept a secret), she discovered she could select how she wanted someone to feel, not just what she was feeling at the time.
Anty has used her talent to get what she wants occasionally, but not enough to raise suspicion. She continued to go to school and live her life normally, with the occasional excursion with her mother’s credit card such as her dyed purple hair and double pierced ears. Anty found solace in drawing people. She could draw how they were in a moment and capture their emotions in that way. It helped her deal with her mutation and find comfort. What helped her the most was changing her parent’s attitudes. Even though she could only do it for a limited time, she felt better with loving parents. Eventually she got out of her slump and started to socialize with people, continuing her usual antics.
Roleplay Where did you learn about this site? : Google Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: Nope, this is my first. Sample RP: Anty stretched and yawned as she woke up in the morning for school. It was early, but she could hear her mother in the kitchen making breakfast. Smiling, the teenager jumped out of bed and ran to the smell of pancakes and syrup. “I want five.” She told her mother. “All right Sweetie. There you go.” Keryl said happily as she put some pancakes on a plate. Anty grabbed the plate and sat down at the table and greedily munched on the chow. Looking at the scene, you would think they were a happy family, what with a mother making breakfast and a father and daughter eating well enough. It only looked happy however. Oh sure, it was partly happy, but only on the parents side. Anty knew that it was all make believe. She had made it that way. You’d be surprised on how easy it is to make someone completely different by making them happy. Anty hadn’t heard her parents argue in 6 hours. It was refreshing.
Glancing at the clock, Anty squeaked in surprise. She had been enjoying her pancakes for much too long. According to the oven’s glowing numbers, class started in ten minutes. Rushing around the house, throwing on the first clothes she found, grabbing her backpack and shoving all the homework laying about into it, Anty left her home without a good bye to her parents. Keryl and Paul looked lovingly at each other and continued their routines, unknowing to the fact that in an hour Keryl would be depressed and drinking again while Paul would be frustrated with his job and angry at the world. Artificial happiness could only last for so long after all.
Anty ran to class and nearly ran over two sophomores in the hallways of her high school. While they told her to watch out where she was going she just kept going to her first period class. While she would normally confront the two boys, she was actually looking forward to her science class and didn’t want to be late. Sliding into a desk a second before the bell shrieked, Anty looked over at Jesse, probably the dreamiest jock in school. Of course he was taken. But that didn’t really matter with Anty. Wiggling her fingers at him and feeling confused at his laughter, Anty looked down at the clothes she was wearing. Bat-man boxers and her dad’s huge black shirt probably wasn’t the best choice of clothes for school. Well. At least the boxers are longer than Shelly’s shorts… She thought, glancing over at the blonde air head to her left. “Why do they even wear pants?” Anty mumbled to herself as Mr. Jenkins walked into the room. “Alright class, please get out your- Ms. Plyde? Are you not wearing pants?” The teacher questioned in slight shock. This wasn’t the first time Anty had come under dressed to his class. “No. No I’m not.” Anty stated with a straight face. The class laughed loudly until Mr. Jenkins looked disapprovingly at them. “To the office Ms. Plyde.” They way he said it made it seem like it was a great burden to be a high school teacher. Anty made a mental note never to become a teacher. She didn’t want to become old and boring like all of the teachers in her high school. Maybe an alligator wrestler instead then. She grinned widely at the thought, walking through the quiet and dismal halls of her prison.

Ahhh the other emotion-manipulator. I look forward to meeting you IC. Kealey hasn't ran into many people with powers similar to hers. Should be interesting.
Nice power write-up and I'll be looking for you on the boards!
Welcome to MRO! If you can get past the acidic secretion from Ahorta's pores and actually inject her with someone.... I hope they're positive emotions, haha.
