The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Work, work, work… work, work, work, work. That seemed to be happening a lot. Some of the work was fun, but a lot of it was paperwork. And paperwork only led to one thing… Paper cuts. And paper cuts weren’t fun at all. It had been weeks since he’d gotten back from Romania, which explains all the paperwork, and he had been mostly just relaxing and taking his tie getting through all the work. For the most part it new students and a few police reports from some big clay monster and some other odd things that occurred whilst the X-Men were away. Of course once all the paperwork had cleared his desk Streak sat back and gave a loud sigh. “Ahhhh. Finally finished.” But wait! There’s more! Streak saw something jotted down on one of his sticky-notes about police training and joining the NYPD. It wasn’t in his handwriting and he wondered who wrote it. The mystery didn’t last long as he figured that it could only come from one person. Sam. Only he would be the one to come up with some hair-brained scheme about joining the police. Streak had nothing against the police the only thing he didn’t like was the fact that there were actually quite a few mutant haters in there. Must be some ploy to get more mutant equality. But sounds like fun. So it was that there was more work to be done.
Streak called up the police academy number that was on the note and he explained the situation. Or at least he hoped he was explaining the situation right. It seemed that he wasn’t the first one to call about this subject. Apparently Ghost had already gone through it. So maybe it would be fun to do, especially if he brought a friend. There were plenty of people he could have brought… Sam would have been his first choice, but since he’d probably already done it and didn’t inform Streak of it first, he was inclined to take someone else that he thought might enjoy the little adventure. Because that’s all it was… an adventure. He’d been through way worse than anything the instructors at any police academy could throw at him, and he was sure he could pass with flying colors. Streak called up Emerald and waited for her to answer before he explained what was going on to her. once he was finished explaining he asked, ”So do you want in?”
Now, when calling someone to go train at a police station, the most logical choice would be choosing someone who actually liked the police. It would see however that Silver Streak, AKA Sean was never that logical for he invited along the most unexpected person to come with him on this journey into the NYPD.
Emerald had to say that she wasn't exactly excited about going to the Police Academy to get training, considering the fact they were the same people that sent most the X-men to the camps during the American registration camps. Not only that but the Police Officers were about as useful in a fight as throwing a wad of wet blankets at a blazing inferno. Speaking of wet blankets, it didn't take much to realize who's bright idea it was to train with the Police Officers, of course it was her new boss and his "working with the police to make life better for mutants" idea.
"Yeah fine I'm in since we are being forced to do it anyways,"Emerald grumbled on the phone, sitting on her bed with her legs crossed. "Sides, shouldnt be that hard, I've been through worse training anyways."

Great, Emerald had agreed to come along with him to the police academy. Boh of them knew what true pain and suffering was. This would be more like taking the classroom portion of a class after taking the lab portion. For the most part it would be a walk in the park, and if Streak was right, it would actually be fun. There was one more person that Streak wanted to call before he scheduled a time for Hem to go to the training.
Shin. He hadn't been through everythng that Shawn and Emerald had been but he was getting close since he was in the Romanian camps. Streak thought he'd still do fine. From what he'd fathered from the ladies voice that he'd talked to before calling on friends it wouldn't be hard for them to get into the academy and thy wouldn't have to wait long to go. Streak picked up the intercom microphone and said into it, "Shin please report to Streak's office. Shin to Streak's office immediately. Thank you." He hung up the microphone and sat back in his chair waiting for Shin to arrive. Streak figured that it would probably take more careful wording to get Shin to go along with this. Shin was never one to like fighting but if Streak worded his argument carfully then he should agree to come along. It wasn't too long before the door opened and Shin walked in.

Shin's office was right near Streak's and Sam's. It didn't take long for him to get there at all. Shin looked around. He was curious what this was about. He didn't think anyone was in trouble, but it probably wasn't a social call.
"What's up?" Shin asked.
Gosh, he hoped it didn't have anything to do with all that X-men + Police fan-pairing Sam had been working on. From his memories of the Gold Man Incident, it wasn't panning out exactly as everyone wanted. He had his doubts about the X-men working alongside the police. If anyone questioned him on it, he'd let them be known.

Streak was expecting confrontation from Shin. This idea didn’t seem popular among either of the people that he’d talked to. “Have a seat. This might be a long discussion.” Streak said smiling. It wasn’t exactly an idea he favored but it was apparently something they had to do. He waited for Shin to have a seat before he started. “Ok, first of all let me just say that I don’t like this anymore than you do. “ However, it still ought to be fun. With that being said, he continued. “Now I’m sure you can guess what this is about. But in case you didn’t I called you hear because I wanted to talk to you about the whole ‘X-Men PD’ thing that Sam wants us to do. I’m trying to get a few people together and kind of knock out this thing as fast as possible so that Sam won't start complaining about people not doing it or it taking too long or something. I was wondering if you might be interested in coming along with me and Emerald.”
Streak didn’t know how familiar Shin was with Emerald; and if he wasn’t that familiar with her, then it would be a multiple learning experience for him. Not only would Shin be learning about the police and everything they did, but he’d also be learning about how Emerald acted. This is going to be more fun than he’d originally thought. “I managed to talk Emerald into going along with it, so I wanna know if you want in?” Streak asked. He waited patiently for Shin to answer. The answer would probably be quick and either way Shawn would be going.

Shin eyed Shawn as he sat. It was going to be a long conversation? “How long?” The Asian asked him. He had a hunch that was more than a hunch, now, that this had to do with the police. His smile faded into impassivity. He’d let Streak talk, and listen. People usually didn’t do well with the listening. Shin didn’t want to dismiss the idea without giving the silver-mancer a chance to argue his position.
As Shawn started out, Shin figured it was a losing argument. Shawn thought it’d be ‘fun’. That struck Shin as an odd defining word. Working with the police was far from fun. It was work. That’s why it was called ‘working with the police’. Shin folded his hands over his crossed leg.
>>“I managed to talk Emerald into going along with it, so I wanna know if you want in?”
“As long as it’s ‘work’, and not fun…” He started slowly. “I suppose X-men members could get something out of it, so far as leadership skills go. Some of us, more than others.” He didn’t know who Emerald was, but he knew Sam needed help with team leaders. He remembered that much from the meeting before Romania. If they’d had more team leaders then, or if specific members had been better-prepared, maybe what had happened wouldn’t have gone down as it had. That might have been Sam’s honest aim, beyond the police stuff. “The police stuff still gives me a headache,” Shin stated bluntly. “But if it can be beneficial to the X-men in any way, I’m alright with trying it. For the team.”

Maybe this wasn’t going to be as long of a conversation as he thought it would be. Shin seemed to be warming up to the idea much faster than Streak had anticipated. “Right.” Streak said listening to Shin after he’d finished talking. It wasn’t so much that it was going to be fun, but it was more of the fact that it would help them with their long term goals. The young man could tell that he wasn’t too thrilled with the idea. To tell the truth neither was Streak. He didn’t exactly have a perfect record with the cops after all. “Just think of it this way… In the past, when the X-Men have gone to do a local mission or to stop some attack against a mutant or human we’ve had to flee the scene as soon as we could so that we wouldn't get in trouble with the cops. Now, imagine that same situation only the X-Men that went were part of the police force. Once the crisis was taken care of we wouldn’t have to flee; because we would be acting under the authority of the NYPD.”
Right now it probably sounded like he was really pushing to get Shin excited about doing this; however, that couldn’t be farther from it. Streak was painting a picture for Shin and also trying to keep himself interested in doing this thing. “Just think how much easier it’s gonna make our job of getting equality if people can see us working side by side with the regular cops.” The silvermancer paused for a second. “God, I’m starting to sound like Sam. I need to stop that, it could be hazardous to my health.” He said cracking a smile. All in all it sounded like Shin wanted in on this little swaré, and the was definitely a good thing. "Well then I guess we're done here. I'll call you tomorrow with details about when we're going." Streak said. He then waited for ashin to leave so that he could make a fee more phone calls about this upcoming job.

Again, Shin listened as Streak spoke his part. He made a good point. So often, heroes had to run away, or were misunderstood. In some cases, they deserved to be pursued. In other cases, they were just trying to help. It had been like that in Romania. They'd helped at Parliament, and ended up pursued. Maybe, it'd work better if they played it this way in New York.
Still, it was a power trip. He'd seen Sam flash around the badge, like that gave him the right to crash through a window, rather than using the door. Kind of silly logic, really.
Ultimately, it was complicated. He had conflicting viewpoints here. Shin nodded through Streak's final statement.
"Okay. We'll see. I'll give it a try." That was the least Shin could do, try it. He'd see where this took them.
Rising from his seat, Shin made his exit. "I'll wait for your call, then. Later." The door closed behind Shin. The Asian trianglemander walked down the hall, towards the Danger Room. He was still conflicted. He needed to blow off some steam. He supposed now was as good a time as any to train.

(OOC: sorry guy I’ve been a little out of it the past few days so if one of you wants to get us there so that we can actually start the fun I’m good with it)
After Shin left, Streak got on the phone with the police again and started asking other questions. Finally after all those were answered Streak set up a date for when the three of them would be set to go to the academy. All they had to do was wait for a few slots to open up and they would all be able to together. Streak had said he would call both of them and give them the date. It wasn’t too long of a wait and Streak informed both Shin and Emerald of when the three of them would be going. “We’ve got a spot for one week from today.” Streak said, calling them both in turn to give them the news. Not a single one of them seemed too thrilled with what they had to do; no matter how well it seemed that it could be justified. The day had finally come and Streak was all packed and ready to go. Now all he was waiting on was for Shin and Emerald to be ready to go.

Shin was packed. He hadn't been surprised when Streak had told them they'd be at the police academy for several days. It just figured they'd have to spend a whole lot of time with the police stuff. He still wasn't happy about it, but he went through the motions. Shin had arrived plenty early for the carpool to the academy, and he was mentally prepared for training. When everyone had arrived, the bus had taken off. Forty minutes later, they were at the academy.
Shin stepped off the bus, red duffel bag in-hand. He looked over his shoulder, towards Streak. "Well. We're here." He sighed.
Now all that was left was for someone to show them where they had to go, and for endless following.

They’d finally arrived. It hadn’t taken long for them all to get a spot in the soonest training academy. As far as Streak could tell there had been a priority placed on getting mutants into the academy to have them start evening the score with mutants breaking the laws, as well as common criminals. Streak stepped off the bus and stood next to Shin. There was no semblance of order as of yet, although with all the police hovering around the group it wouldn’t be long before they all started yelling and the so called ‘boot camp’ would begin. Emerald was the only obvious mutant there, with her tail and ears, and that made other humans stay a little farther away. As for Streak he tried to position himself both of his companions so that none of them would be lost.
Shawn had packed his X-Men suit but he doubted that he’d be able to wear that instead of the unflattering NYPD uniforms. It wasn’t a moment later that the yelling and the confusion started. Policemen and women were yelling at the bus’ freshly disembarked passengers like they were trying to be heard over a rock concert or something. Finally the confusion started to settle down a bit as more of the humans started to figure out what was going on and started to find a spot in one of the lines that was forming. “Just sit tight and I’m sure they’ll explain a few things about what they want us to do.” Streak said to Shin and Emerald. He wasn’t sure if they were going to be separating the mutants or if the three of them were going to be training alongside the rest of the humans. Either way would prove interesting, however, working with the humans may give them a little more trust once they’re out and about in the street.
Emerald had really not been looking forward to this whole thing, mainly because some of the NYPD knew her as the girl that accidentally killed one of their buddies during the first King Pharmecuticals fiasco. Though there were some cops that liked her, mainly the ones that went to Moe's during their breaks in the middle of the night. Not like any of them would be at the academy today teaching the X men how to be a good cop or anything of that nature.
"Hey Lupin!" A loud boisterous voice called and Emerald could help but laugh a little. A rather tall and muscular cop was apparently the teacher for the group of new cadets, and in mid speech about the rules, he recognized the young she wolf. "What the hell are you doing here? Doing a three hour work out before coming to Moe's not enough for ya?"
Emerald grinned, her sharp wolven teeth making their appearance. Her tail started to wag a little as she grinned at the much older male. "I decided to do some community service, like showing the cadets up in this training thing we X men have to do. " Emerald replied with a grin, obviously glad that it was one of the cops she knew that was teaching the new recruits.
"Oh this'll be good, don't show off to much!" Officer McKenzie laughed, just as he instructed the some of the humans about what they were doing that day. They had indeed separated the X men from the humans, probably in order for them to not cheat with their powers or anything like that, as for what instructor they would get Em didn't know, but at least she knew Officer McKenzie was there, just in case if she had to get irritated and vent to someone.
OOC: Hope this is alright. Officer McKenzie separated the humans from the mutants in order for it to be fair, you guys can say whats the first line of business for these guys.

Shin was so lost. With all the shouting, and the movement, he couldn't tell what they were doing, or where they were going yet. All he had was Shawn's word that there was an order to this disorder. They passed across his grid of vision rapidly, going in and out doors. Some wore blue. Some wore street clothes, as on-the-beat detectives. Uniform after uniform swept by...
He was supposed to 'sit tight', even though all the activity made his head hurt. Another sigh escaped him. He massaged his temples.
Someone came around, and grouped them apart from the other recruits. An annoyed thought passed through Shin's mind. Really?
Even when they were there to help, and learn to work with the police, the police were placing them apart. That didn't bode well...
After a wait that seemed too long, someone approached the group, and began detailing their day plan. Shin waited silently for the day to end.

Odd. That’s what came to his mind with the fact that they were being separated from the humans. Way to not make us stick out. Great job cops. Streak thought sarcastically. Shawn didn’t realize that Emerald knew someone here. He didn’t think that Emerald knew anyone in the police force. Apparently there was a lot more to her than he knew about. And she didn’t exactly share much. At this point Streak was obviously eves dropping. “Show off? Us? Never. What would possibly make you think that someone like Emerald here would show off?” The silver eyed mutant smiled. Being a smart-aleck would make this boring time more interesting.
They were soon ushered through line after line of people passing them clothes and equipment they would be using throughout this crash course in police work and laws. That day was pretty calm; however, when their head officer came in he explained that they would be going through an intense two week long training to get them back to their normal lives and maybe even get them doing a few patrols with human cops once a week or so. “Officer Wilson here will be assisting me with your training. And I am Sergeant Apep. I will be making sure that you are ready to take on the tasks that you will be faced once you leave this training center. Emerald you’ll be sleeping across the hall from the guys. Now get some rest we start early tomorrow morning.” The two officers walked out of the room and left the three to discuss before the next day arrived.
Listening to the officer drone on about training made Emerald tired, making her really rather bored. No training could ever match the crap she had been put through before all this so she really had no worries there. Any physical test, even if she was told not to use her abilities, she could ace fairly easily.
Her body was in prime condition for any physical training they had and a sharp body meant a sharp mind as well. Sure, Emerald wasn’t a scientific genius like her younger sibling was, but she was intelligent in her own way. So If they had any sort of mental tests for them, Em was sure she could do fairly well on those as well.
Once the cop left, Emerald looked at the two males with an small shrug. “So, that doesn’t seem too hard, just some simple intense training and patrols, doesn’t sound that much different that what we usually did back when I first joined the X’s.”
