The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lily's arms found their way to his shoulders, and she let him pull her close; she didn't really feel like letting go, but walking like that would have been difficult. Taking Shawn by the hand she made her way to the free spot on the dance floor before turning back to him with a smile. "You know, we don't have to dance if you don't want to." she said, looking into his eyes. She was teasing him. The music was good, and she was happy, and she was moving to the music already as she waited for his answer.

Streak allowed Lily to lead him to the dance spot that was open. Once there Lily waisted no time in getting into the music. He didn't really know why she had offered him that option since she was obviously interested in dancing. Streak smiled. There was nothing wrong with dancing. Especially when he was dancing with her. Shawn started dancing to the music, he thought that if he started dancing then it would giver her his answer. However, just in case he answered her, "No, we can dance for a bit." Granted he wasn't exactly the best dancer in the world, in fact as far as he was concerned he was bad, but this was for Jewel and he was going to make sure that she had a good time even if the meant that he felt like a fool dancing. Maybe after this song or the next he would suggest that they get something to drink. But as for right now, Lily wanted to dance and even if he wasn't the best dancer he'd probably still have fun.
Guys, in general, cannot (or do not) dance. That is why girls, in general, are taught (or learn) to lead. In a way that makes them think they are leading, or, even better, makes them not think about the dancing at all. Lily was well trained in all kinds of dances; once you have perfected your skills in the ballroom, a club is no big deal. Smiling at Shawn, Lily moved closer, one hand sliding up his arm onto his shoulder, and behind his neck. There was the connection; the rest was just a matter of rythm now. She leaned closer, and for a moment she could feel his breath on her cheek; then she moved back again to look at him with a mischievous glint in her eyes. She didn't even need to see him to move together; her sixth sense was picking up all kinds of shiny things in the club, but none of them came even close to being as bright as his silver. Dancing is simple, really, when you don't think about it.

Streak decided that it was going to let her lead, especially since he was never real sure if he was doing it right. Lily, thankfully, seemed to know exactly what to do. And she was good at it too. As Lily slid her hand up his shoulder and to his neck, which pulled him closer to her. Streak allowed her to get closer and he placed his hands around her waist. He continued to pull her closer to him, until he didn't think that he could get her much closer. Whatever she was doing, it was working and he was enjoying himself.
Lily then put only inches of distance between the two. Streak looked into her eyes and smiled at her. Judging from the look on her face it looked like she had something planned; however, at this point he really didn't care. Hmm. Maybe dancing is simpler than I thought it was. Streak thought as he continued to dance with Lily. Now he was less concerned with how he was dancing, especially since he seemed to be doing well enough for Lily to not care. As far as he could tell, they were both moving together, which usually helped make the dancing easier. Streak pulled her closer to him, put his head back next to hers to the point where both their cheeks were touching each other.
Lily didn't care all that much about the dance and the moves; the important thing was that they were moving together. Shawn pulled her closer, and she didn't resist him; as she put her other hand on his shoulder, she smiled. "See, it's not that difficult" she chuckled, putting her lips to his ear as he leaned in. She was feeling bold. Much bolder than she had ever been with guys. Maybe it was the music - it was loud, filling the club with ryhtm and melody, making people feel free to move. Or maybe it was the fact that she was just starting to get her own body back. That was the side effect of the camps: being a woman, being young, being pretty, all the things that made life easy out here turned into a constant threat in there, drawing all kinds of unwanted attention. One of the reasons she spent so much time alone after they returned from Romania was the fact that even people looking at her made her nervous and want to hide herself. But Shawn, Shawn was made her feel safe. She was aware of his hands on her waist, and the warmth of his skin and his silver. Lily's eyes half closed as she leaned back, swaying with the music.

Streak could feel her warm breath on his ear as she made his comment. “I never said it was difficult. I just said I wasn’t that good at it.” he replied as he lightly brushed his lips against her ear. Shawn continued to move to the beat and move with Lily. It was actually a lot easier to keep up with her than he would have imagined that it would have been. It was especially a lot easier when he was dancing with her. Everyone else seemed to make things feel a little awkward, but not Lily… no… she made him feel like he was actually doing it right for once.
Now it was very evident that she was feeling much more like herself, and that made Streak happy. He hadn’t seen her in weeks after the return from Romania and he was glad that now that he was with her, she was having such a great time and getting back to her normal perfect self. Streak grinned as he let her lean back and sway a little. They’d been dancing for a while, or at least it seemed, when the music died down for a second. Streak stopped dancing for a little bit as he tried to find the beat of the new song that was starting to play. “Let’s grab a drink.” Streak suggested. He wasn’t going to make her go; especially if she decided that she really wanted to dance.
Lily lost track of time as they danced; when the music stopped, she blinked as if she had just woken up. She didn't know how much they spent on the dance floor. She didn't really care either. “Let’s grab a drink.” She nodded with a smile, and held his hand as they made their way across the room to the bar. Lily tapped her chin with a finger as she looked at all the drinks, trying to figure out what she wanted to drink. She suddenly remembered the night out with Circe, the Hurricanes and other cocktails, and the rest of that night; she giggled at the memory. "You are not going to get me drunk are you" she looked up at Shawn with a smirk "Since it worked so well last time..." She chuckled and turned back to the bar; when it was their turn to order, she smiled at the bartender. "III think I could like something sweet, and not too strong." she chuckled "Girly drink..."

Streak smiled, glad that they didn’t have to keep dancing for the moment. He followed her to the bar where he considered what drink to get. He was deep in pondering the selection of alcohol when Lily addressed him. “I don’t know. I hadn’t planned on it since everything’s been going well so far. But now that you mention it…getting you just a little drunk wouldn’t be a bad thing. Just as long as I don’t have to carry you home.” Streak said smiling at her. Oh drat’s, she’s getting a girly drink. That’s gonna make it harder to get her drunk. he amusingly thought. Once Lily had ordered Streak ordered a crown and coke and handed the bartender his card to open a tab.
“Ya know somehow I don’t think I’ll need to get you too drunk tonight. Which will make tomorrow morning all that much more enjoyable than the last time you got drunk.” He wasn’t banking any money on it but it seemed like after the first night he’d spent with Lily in Romania she was a lot easier to convince of things, not to mention a lot freer to act the way she wanted around him. Even now it was still hard to tell if she acted completely from the alcohol that night or if she was just using the alcohol as an excuse for acting the way she did. They continued to wait at the bar for their drinks, and even though he actually hadn’t planned on getting her drunk the possibility of it happening was very much there. Streak, surprisingly enough, didn’t want to get her drunk because he wanted to find out if the last time was the alcohol or if it was her with the help of the alcohol.
“Ya know somehow I don’t think I’ll need to get you too drunk tonight. Which will make tomorrow morning all that much more enjoyable than the last time you got drunk.” The girly drink was really girly. It was pink, very sweet (basically the kind that guys would call 'liquid sugar and nail polish'), and it even had a cherry in it. Lily grinned as she picked the cherry out, eating it before she turned her attention to the drink. Oh, she remembered 'last time'. All in all, it was a very good memory, minus the hangover the next morning, among other things that could have ended better. But it started out really good, even though she was very drunk, and at least she had the courage to talk about things with Shawn. She didn't need the alcohol for that anymore. Turning around and leaning back against the bar, she looked up at him, tiltin her head with a sweet smile. "And what" she asked, arching the eyebrow "Do you have to do with my tomorrow morning?..." She sipped her drink, still looking at him. She wondered what he'd say to that. She didn't even know where the question came from.

He took his drink from the bar and held it. Streak remembered very well what happened the last time, after all, he wasn’t the drunken one. Oops… Streak had been caught with a less than subtle comment. She didn’t look even remotely perturbed by his comment though. She looked more like she was making light of the situation and was even really interested in what he was going to say. He had to be careful though or he definitely wouldn’t have anything to do wither her morning tomorrow. Shawn looked down at her and returned a smile before saying, “Well, nothing I don’t think, but I just don’t want you to end up with a hangover again. ‘Cause we both know how not fun those are.”
Of course his intensions were obvious to him, but he really wanted to keep them mostly to himself so that he could just end up going with the flow of the night when the time came. “I’m just watching out for you, that’s all.” He said sill trying to save his butt from that obvious blunder mere seconds ago. With a smile still on his face he gave Lily a peck on the lips. After that peck he took a sip of his drink and waited to see how she was going to react to his semi-smooth save.
“Well, nothing I don’t think, but I just don’t want you to end up with a hangover again. ‘Cause we both know how not fun those are. I’m just watching out for you, that’s all.” Lily laughed at him. He really didn't realize what he'd said, and when she called it, he tried to save what he could. That only made her laugh more cheerfully. It was obvious what he was thinking about, and she didn't mind it at all. of course, that didn't mean she couldn't let him suffer a bit. "Smooth, very smooth." she grinned after he gave her a peck on the lips. It was not really a kiss, but it was the closest thing to it they had ever since Romania. Her heart skipped, and she buried her smile in her drink. "Suuure." she chuckled "Just watching out for me." He always did.
Lily lost track of time fast after this. They finished their drinks, they danced; they danced a lot. Shawn probably didn't enjoy it as much as she did, but she was having fun, and she didn't mind making him work for all the not-so-subtle comments he made. They had a few more drinks; hers were all girly enough not to make her drunk, but they did come with a decent sugar rush. It was well past midnight when she finally gave up; not because she was tired, not really. She just had enough of the club and the dancing. "I think I am ready to go home." she announced with a smile, finishing her last drink "We've danced enough to last for a while..."

Streak was paying for his comment and he knew it. After a while they started dancing again and drinking more. The thought of her actually making him work for whatever she was planning actually shocked him. he didn’t realize that Lily was so devious about this. But it was worth it, so he didn’t mind it that much. The only thing he really minded was all the dancing. However, the more they danced, or was it the more he drank, the better he seemed get at dancing. It also seemed that Lily was enjoying all the dancing so he put up with the dancing and actually started enjoying it.
It was probably well after midnight when Jewel finally said that she was ready to go home. He couldn't blame her; after all they’d been there for hours probably. Streak was glad that she was ready to go. Maybe she was only ready to go because she was done messing with his head. Streak wasn’t sure and he was only glad to see if he’d done enough of an ‘I’m sorry’ dance for her to forget his little blunder. “I agree. Let’s go.” Streak took her hand and led her out of the club and to his car. He wasn’t really sure what she was planning for when they got back. However, aside from his little blunder that he’d already paid for he was pretty pleased at how well this date turned out.
Lily was laughing inside. True, she never had a boyfriend, and her dates before Shawn were all very decent and pretty dull; but she had friends, and those friends talked about all kinds of things. And she also had her instincts like everyone else. She could tell Shawn would be pretty desperate by now to leave the club. She didn't even have to be creative about playing him. She just had to do everything by the book. Leave the club. Get into the car. Throughout the drive home, be pretty silent; smil a lot, somewhat dreamily. It's late. You have every right to be tired and sleepy. Yes. Let him walk you to your room. Face him. Smile. Kiss him on the cheek. "Thank you, Shawn. It was a wonderful evening." Wait.

Girls were never something hew was particularly good at figuring out. They always played games and they always seemed to know just what game to play to mess with his mind. Lily was silent for pretty much the entire car ride back to the mansion. It actually let him think for the car ride back. Once they were back he took her hand and walked her back to her room. Shawn didn’t’ have anything to do tomorrow so he thought he would give it a try.
Wait a minute a kiss on the cheek. That wasn’t going to fly. He didn’t need to do much but he was sure that she would be ok with him coming in for just a minute. “I’m glad you had fun. I did too, even though you made me dance.” Streak said. With that Streak leaned forward and kissed her on the lips. It wasn’t just a simple peck on the lips either. He was determined to make her forget about his blunder from earlier. Even if she was just messing with him he was going to mess with her.
End of game. Curtains. Applause. Time to take the prize. Lily's arms found their wasyto his shoulders, and then around his neck; somewhere in the back of her mind this registered as a logical move, just in case he was planning on playing her too. She was not about to let him pull away or something. No way. That was one of the rare coherent thoughts she had while Shawn was kissing her. The rest was all kinds of feelings and sensations, her own heart racing and his silver tempting her senses. Lily sighed softly as she pulled herself closer to him. She though about this, a lot, back in Romania. It was one of the things she was clinging to, for hope. Right now, she couldn't remember why the heck she waited for so long after they came home. Right now, it felt right.
