The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

So I had this idea for a mini-plot based off the fact that reality TV shows have basically run rampant over the last five years.
The idea is that if there is a reality show about anything and everything today, wouldn't there be one about mutants if they existed?
The concept is as follows: A mutants produced, and mutant staffed crew comes into places like the mansion and the sanctuary, and follows them around for a while, getting confessionals and juicy stuff like that, and allowing the people to cast themselves in whatever light they wish to the outside eye.
There might be moments in which the crew stirs up drama to increase ratings and such, depending on how everyone feels about such things. They will pitch it to these places as ways to increase positive exposure to the outside world, but depending on how everyone wants it to go, they may just be hunting for cash.
All that said, I would love any ideas or opinions that anyone might have on something like this!
If you want camera and TV trouble, Maxine can always visit the Mansion. All the joys of potentially terrible publicity and drama-making with the added bonus of a PC causing it, rather than NPCs. Not to mention I was kind of plotting to do so already.

For all I care Maxine could head the whole thing up, considering it sounds like something she would be in on; but I figure it should be bigger than just one person.
People would be more tense if there was enough people power behind it that they would be being watched at all times. That tenseness tends to provide excitement, and thus make the thread more interesting.
The way I had it planned, everyone would be informed that they were being watched, and that any confessionals they did would be completely confidential. Of course, a few choice people might 'accidently' be shown a confessional or two related to them, in order to incur outbursts and thus raise ratings, but whether or not that kinda stuff happens it totally up to how this discussion goes.
