The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kealey paid very close attention to Sam’s emotions when she shot down his idea for a wager. Empaths simply could go around kissing just anyone. Kissing involved a lot of emotions, whether a person wanted to admit it or not and whatever they felt…Kealey would feel too. Proximity did things, and touching did more. If she wasn’t sure of a person’s reaction, it could be disastrous. It was nothing against Sam, and when he took her rejection in stride, she smiled brightly, ”Thank you.” she said genuinely.
He went on to line up his next shot, and his comment set Kealey to blushing again as she shook her head. Compliments given in genuine good faith were still something she struggled with, ”Be that as it may….” she said, then frowned mid-sentence as Sam made a shot. Then another…then another. Suddenly, Kealey was very glad she hadn’t made the bet, and a little disappointed in herself for making him play at the top of his game. Obviously Sam was no novice at pool.
Kealey thought she had lost when Sam sunk his last ball, but apparently that’s not how the system worked, because Sam lined up for another shot. Kealey watched and felt as Sam’s emotions went from their calm, almost eager state to something much more focused and determined. He really wanted to make that shot…but Kealey had no clue how he was going to do it. He shot, and the eight-ball bounced off the wall and headed straight for the pocket, rolling in with a dull thunk against the ones already there. Kelaey was admittedly impressed, but tilted her head as the white ball followed it in. There weren’t any other turns to be had…what would happen now?
Sam spoke, and Kealey’s confusion rose. Apparently she’d won? What was the term he’d used? Scratch. Kealey shook her head and gave Sam a disbelieving look, ”If I didn’t know better, I’d still think you threw that game. But, I do…know better though. Thanks for the compliment.”
The mooning waitress returned and Kelaey smiled and nodded as they were informed that their table was ready and Sam was informed that he was always terrible at the last shot. They returned to the table, and Kealey’s mouth watered at the sight of the cheeseburger. These were one of the things Kealey was sure of liking, and therefore had no trouble abandoning herself in the emotions involved in eating one. Food was a big deal to Kealey, as was anything that triggered an intense emotional response. She dug in…and hoped Sam didn’t mind her single-mindedness too much. After a few minutes (and half the burger) Kealey turned her attention back to the X-Leader across the table.

Sam smirked, she didn’t have to believe him, it happened and he was okay with it, there was no sense in getting worked up about losing a game as trivial as pool with no bet or wager backing the game up, a simple wager always made things more interesting.
Turning his attention to the food set in front of him his mouth watered slightly as he opened the bun and applied the special ingredients, the seasoning salt, the ketchup, and the mustard. Closing the bun and picking up the burger in hand then two Sam bit into the familiar food and his taste buds applauded and cheered like the audience of a sitcom. Another few bites later he looked over to Kealey’s dish and blinked with his one eye surprised she was further along with her burger than he was with his.
She commented on it and he smiled swallowing his food so he wouldn’t be talking with his mouth full. ”Why are you apologizing?” Sam asked taking a bite of his fries and continuing, ”You enjoy something enjoy it, sides I’m sick of girls who hold off on eating during dates, such a turn off.” Sam said as his sipped his water, since Alex a few of the girls he attempted dating only nibbled at a salad of an order of fries, one or two didn’t even eat anything because they didn’t want Sam to see them eat. When he found out he of course kicked their sorry buts to the curb.
In fact he found it insulting when they wouldn’t eat in front of him, which was why he was fully appreciating Kealey’s company and her appetite. With that being said and done Sam started picking at his fries as he started to devour the rest of his burger. In between bites of food and empty mouth Sam asked, ”So besides school and making suits for me what do you occupy your time with?” Sam asked curiously as he finished off his burger.

Kealey smiled at Sam when he pointed out that he disliked girls who avoided eating simply to impress a man. To be honest, the blond was a little surprised that there were girls out there who did that sort of thing. Why would you fake a small appetite when you didn’t have one? It was just like lying about the color of your hair, the color of your eyes. Maybe not as bad as lying about your name or where you were from…but it was deception all the same.
Sam inquired as to her hobbies at least outside of making the new uniforms for the X-Men and the blond had to think for a moment before she answered. ”I like to read when I can concentrate well enough…and I like pretty much anything as long as the people around me are happy. I really do enjoy sketching in my sketch book.”
Kealey continued eating, stopping with the burger for a fry every now and then, turning the question around on Sam.

Reading and sketching he noted the two as he took another bite of his food only to stop chewing while she turned the question back on him. He wasn’t really sure how to respond… he blinked with his good eye once then twice and thought it over for a moment, placing his food down all together. He looked down at his food mulling over the idea of hobbies and which he considered his own. ”Hmmm… haven’t really had anytime to partake in a hobby lately… guess you could say bumming about?” Sam asked with a raised eyebrow not really sure if that qualified.
”Teaching counts I guess, not in any academics however, I like teaching self defense…” he thought about it and had come to the conclusion self defense was the closet thing he had to a hobby, ”The idea that you can turn your own body into something you can protect people with… the idea strikes me as… well…” Sam shrugged not really able to find the right words to describe how he felt about the one thing that had always been constant in his life. Another of the few things he could thank T.A.T. for. Then it hit him, ”Oh stargazing was something I always enjoyed.” he snapped his finger and then nodded his head in approval picking up his burger and taking a victory bite.
He swallowed and then looked to Kealey, ”What about dreams? Where do you see yourself in ten years from now?” it was a legit question for a date but he wasn’t sure he could answer it after all he couldn’t even see what he would be doing a year from now, ten years he wasn’t sure he would even be alive and kicking that far into the future. After all Sam didn’t lead the safest of lives, if he wasn’t rushing into a burning fire he was being shot at.
