The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character[/u]
Personality: Brandon tries to make light of every situation implementing humor, by cracking jokes. Even in the most dangerous times, he jokes around with his friends. Brandon gets upset when people judge him based on clothing and looks before getting to know him. Hobbies/ Interests: Brandon loves playing games and going to the beach. Hopes to be a video game designer one day. Job or part time job and description: Item stocker at local grocery store. Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Brandon fears the thought of not being able to move. Though not claustrophobic, Brandon hates enclosed spaces due to limited movement. He panics when restrained or unable to move. Special talents: (not related to mutation) Very intelligent with computers, but unable to excel with them, because of family's low income.
Morality[/b]
Good-- Brandon is good-willed, but when he is angered or has much hatred for an enemy, he can become slightly 'evil'. He believes in doing what is necessary to get the job done, whilst doing the least amount of harm to innocents.
Mutations
Mutation Description: Sand manipulation. Brandon can manipulate sand to form a defensive barrer to protect himself and /or others, and to hurt enemies.
Offense:
Brandon can manipulate sand to create a tornado-like sandstorm around foes, causing them trouble when attempting to move. The sand can move at fast speeds, obstructing the target's vision. If the battlefield is made up of sand (such as a desert or a beach) Brandon can shift the sand on the ground, creating sand dunes and holes. Incoming enemies can fall/trip due to the shifting sands, once again slowing enemies down. It is harder for Brandon to manipulate sand underground. Creating a hole to fall in can take immense concentration . But, once a target is trapped in a hole, Brandon can cover the target in sand with overwhelming weight.
Defense::
Brandon mainly uses his sandstorms defensively. He can create sand barriers to protect from physical attacks. Brandon excels in team battles, supporting the team by using sand barriers to protect from physical attacks, and interfering with enemy movement and vision. He plays a supporting role, opening up opportunities for teammates to defeat enemies or flee.
Sand Columns:
Brandon can manipulate the sand to form columns of sand. He can stand on the column and move himself across the battlefield. Maintaining a sturdy column can require lots of focus. Trying to attempt large-scale sand shifts or storms can be disastrous if Brandon stops focusing on the column (column could break and he could fall). And, of course, Brandon can use his columns offensively, by lifting enemies high in the air, perhaps interrupting their attack or disabling their mutation.
Strengths: Fast moving sand can obstruct enemy vision and movement, allowing Brandon and his teammates to win or flee. Brandon only just discovered his mutation, and is still training/learning how to control it. Brandon can only lift about 15 lb of sand at the moment. Brandon can lift sand 30 ft in the air. He is capable of moving sands at 45mph, but the larger amounts of sand he is manipulating, the more focus it takes to move at higher speeds. Sandstorms can obstruct the target's breathing and vision. He can manipulate sand up to 30 feet away from himself.
Weaknesses: There aren't many ecosystems with sand to manipulate. Large enemies, or powerful mutation powers could break through sand easily. At the moment, Brandon cannot create large barriers, because he can only manipulate 15 lb of sand. All forms of sand manipulation cannot break from the sand source. If the sand being manipulated loses contact with sand source, the sand will fall, or rise in given circumstances, back to the source. Sand barriers can only withstand basic physical attacks at the moment (about a 6 on the physical strength attribute scale). As previously stated, Brandon can lift sand 30 ft in the air, so he can create barriers 30 feet high, but he can only manipulate 15 lb of sand at the moment, so the barrier would be fairly weak(the same goes for sand columns). ***All of the caps given are temporary. Brandon has only just discovered his power, and may progress further.***
Fighting Style[/b]
Explanation: No particular fighting style; has some experience in kickboxing. Pros for fighting style: Along with mutation, Brandon could be a formidable opponent at close-range. Cons for fighting style: If deprived of his mutation, more skilled fighters would win quite easily.
Faction Allegiance[/u] The X-men/ The Order/ The Kabal/ Other/ Unaffiliated
History[/u]: Brandon grew up in small Georgian town with his older brother and his mother. His father left at an early age, so his mother worked two jobs to keep the household somewhat stable. Brandon never realized that his family was poor at the time. Brandon excelled in his academics and was planning on going to college. The only problem was that his family didn't have much money. He had to put his college plans on hold and get a job. Brandon decided to move to New York City in hopes for a better life. His hopeful life in New York City was soon cut short when he couldn't pay for his apartment bills. He obtained a job at a local store, stocking items. The pay was enough to cover his bills, but not for college. His mother never told him why his father left. Every time Brandon asked why, she said: "Your father was special; he left for the good of all." One day, coming home from work Brandon decided to go to a game store and buy a new video game. After about twenty minutes in the store, he found a game suitable to his liking, a role-playing game. He walked out of the store, and heard people screaming in the nearby park. He ran towards the commotion, being nosy as always. A tree was falling. Unlike other people, Brandon ran towards the park. The tree collapsed and landed on the side of the large slide. Suddenly, the whole parks was a game of Domino's. Things were tipping other things over until it came to the sandbox. The main part of the large play area was tipping over towards the sandbox. A small child sat in the sandbox staring up at the wooden building. Brandon ran forward trying to help the kid. He couldn't make it in time. There must be some way. He extended his hand toward the sandbox. He felt a strange feeling pulse through his body to the tip of his fingers. The sand in the sandbox formed a column. The child was sitting on the column floating in mid-air now. Brandon couldn't even grasp what was happening, but continued to motion his arm away from the falling building. The column stayed in constant contact with the sandbox. The column floated in Brandon's direction and floated down towards the ground. When it touched the ground, it disintegrated and left the child in a pile of sand, still frozen in fear. Brandon looked down at his hands, while attempting to decipher what had happened. Meanwhile, the sand pile beneath the child slowly crept back into the sandbox.
Roleplay[/u]
Where did you learn about this site?: GOOGLE Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: Sample RP:
The bright ember sun was at it's highest point of the day. Sun rays illuminated through the cloudy sky down towards the beach. Brandon attempted to open his eyes, and squinted out into the ocean. His arms were buried in the sand. He must have fallen asleep while tanning. The sand slowly broke apart, falling off of his hands, when Brandon sat up on his beach towel. He looked around the beach... children we're playing in the ocean, attempting to jump over the waves. Brandon had nothing to do on his day off, and was getting quite bored sitting on the beach. To find amusement, he began to play jokes on the people along the beach. Subtle jokes of course, like covering someones foot in sand, and seeing the man's facial expression when he looked down. Brandon stood up and began to walk back towards the city. He still had a brand-new game to play.
"Ugh." Brandon sighed.
He was tired and didn't feel like walking all the way back to his car. He decided to use his ability and moved his arm down toward the ground. Sand rose up from the ground forming a circular column. Before standing atop it, Brandon decided to switch it up a bit. He moved his index finger around, and the column morphed into a star-like structure. Brandon stood on top of it and floated out into the distance. He arrived at the edge of the beach. The column of sand slowly fell into the sand and Brandon stepped off of it. He walked along the bridge that led to the beach. His day off was coming to an end, and, unfortunately, he had a weeks full of work to do, starting tomorrow.
