The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mutations
Mutation description: When Jessica sleeps, she manifests an avatar who appears to be 7 years of age, with blonde flowing hair, blue eyes and a white sundress. This avatar manifests within a 10 meter range of the girl, but beyond that is currently free to travel up to the limits of a mid-sized city. It is able to activate a 'Somebody-Else's-Problem' field so as to escape notice, as well as sing with angelic grace such as to calm aggressive tendencies and bring peace of mind to any within earshot; the effect lasts until shortly after the singing ends. The avatar has a similar personality to Jessica, but is without any of the emotional baggage; namely, it appears to be more optimistic and upbeat. As Jessica grows to understand her power, the personalities will likely merge. Initially, Jessica remembers the actions of her avatar as if it is a dream, and vice versa; in other words, with not much detail or reality. The avatar, apart from not needing nourishment or air, is pretty much mortal. Initially, since Jessica isn't really aware of her abilities, the damage that her avatar suffers at most results in bad nightmares... but as she gains more control and awareness, the physical damage to the avatar will translate more and more to mental trauma, in the worst case sending her into a vegetative state. Also, once the avatar sustains sufficient damage (close to lethal), it disappears. Any damage that was sustained during previous manifestations will heal only while the avatar isn't manifested, at a rate akin to slow regeneration. About three hours are needed before another manifestation can take place, but typically the timing is longer, since Jessica tends to wake up once the avatar dematerializes, and at least at first, she sleeps about the same amount as any normal person. Strengths: The SEP field applies to any sentinent being in the range of influence, currently about two city blocks; the effect lasts for as long as the being is within the range of influence. It can be activated at will and can currently last for a total of 12 hours per manifestation. The calming song, as mentioned, applies to all setinent beings within earshot, which in effect is also about two city blocks, currently. The effects of the song last for about 5 minutes after the song ends. Weaknesses: Jessica must be asleep for this power to show itself; otherwise she is just a normal human being. If she wakes, the avatar disappears. Also, the avatar must first manifest within the aforementioned 10 meter range of the girl. The SEP field does not affect inanimate/non-sentient objects, so a camera for instance will be able to record her image for later. Naturally, the calming song doesn't affect either non-sentient objects nor anyone who cannot hear the song; it is also liable to be drowned out by a louder sound, or cancelled out by noise cancellers. The song only acts to calm, moreover; it does not affect the subjects in any other way, so if the subject is already calm, it would have little effect on him/her.
History Of Your Character:
Jessica was an unwanted child from the beginning, as she was the reason her parents were forced into a shotgun marriage. They were constantly fighting each other, and oftentimes took out their anger on the child herself. Thus, the earliest memories Jessica has are of pain and suffering. At the age of 7, welfare services found out about the situation, and took Jessica away from her parents, putting her in a home for troubled children instead. Even there, though, Jessica found herself stigmatized; already timid to begin with, she withdrew even further into her shell. Recently, she has started to have strange dreams, which happen to coincide with rumors of a strange girl in white wandering the home grounds at night...
Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?: Word of mouth Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: None Sample RP:
She had a dream last night. Flashes of corridors, the onrushing of wind, a vague feeling of something warm and uplifting. The moon hanging in the night sky, illuminating the densely packed city all about, which shone its own illumination back into the night sky, setting it aglow. People moving, talking, interacting, but many tucked away in dreams. Angelic song, wafting through the night, and the rustling of a white dress.
Lately, all her dreams tended to be like this. She didn't know why, and she didn't even think of questioning it. It was becoming the one bright spot in her life... but like all dreams, she knew this couldn't last. Dreams end. Dreams are not reality. And one can never escape from reality.
Reality is a cruel mistress. But that is her lot in life.
She thought back to that feeling of warmth and uplift. It was a strange feeling, even if she could only vaguely recall it. But she almost immeadiately pushed that thought aside. Whatever the feeling was, it was not something that she deserved. It was better left to the realm of dreams.
